This was somewhat awkward as was the fact that the bathroom to the room next to ours was connected to our room by a permanently locked adjoining door. All noises taking place there were easily heard and the light from that bathroom filtered into our room around the edges of the door (so we had noises and light all night). But let me restate: I highly recommend the Colonels because of the graciousness of the hosts and the lovely location! By the way, be sure to take a walk around the extensive property--there's a stable with horses and more . . ."

We offer a variety of amenities to make your stay with us a true getaway with nothing to worry about. Our Birds & Bees Suite is a generously sized upstairs bedroom with excellent views of the farm that includes private bathroom with quaint farmhouse shower, a superbly comfortable queen bed, free Wifi, 40 inch television, microwave, small fridge, and desk perfect for working remotely. We also have a roll away bed that can be included, suitable for children 8 years old and up. There is also an oversize stuffed chair in the room which could be used as a place to sleep in a pinch.

We are a favorite for animal and nature lovers! Staying with us also grants you time with our animals if you wish to interact with them - goats, chickens, donkeys, dogs, cats, parrots, rabbits, turkeys, and emus! You are welcome to enjoy the grounds, such as the porch with rocking chairs to watch the sunset, the patio to watch the sun rise as the songbirds sing, the firepit for some smores and stories after dark, as well as the common areas inside, like the living room, which holds our games cabinet full of board games and puzzles and our dining room that is furnished with a dining room set that is nearly 100 years old that has been in our family for 50 years.

Every night stay includes a home cooked farm-to-table locally sourced breakfast for each person who stays with us. We use eggs from our own happy chickens and the produce from our property first, then get as much as we can from other local farms if we don't produce it ourselves. Additional meals (such as home cooked dinners) may be arranged and purchased separately if you are interested. Just ask us, preferably prior to your arrival.

The basement has been newly renovated with an open floor plan containing a king bed, large couch with a pull out queen sofa bed and linens, a kitchenette and dining area. The private apartment also contains a large closet with a pack and play if you are traveling with a baby.

NOTES:
- BREAKFAST KITCHENETTE: There is a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, and lots of coffee goodies provided for you! We do not have a stove or oven and no kitchen sink. We will provide a "bus bucket" that you can place dirty dishes in and place outside so we can clean them and return them to you. We have provided dish soap and sponges for cleaning cups and plates that have not been heavily soiled by food in the bathroom sink. Absolutely no food may be washed down the bathroom sink!

Only a few miles from UGA and Sanford Stadium (easy Uber/Lyft), but in our quiet neighborhood, you’ll easily be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of a college town if you need to. Perfect space for 1-2 guests. Pets welcome. We won’t bother you but can be available for questions or issues if needed. You may see us letting our dog out from time to time.

This backyard cottage is built from beautiful 130-year-old South Georgia heart pine, including an antique front door, large windows that help fill the rooms with light, a kitchenette with fridge, electric stove and sink, a full bath, and a front porch. It has a metal roof, and some unique stained glass-style details. Entry from front porch, as well as side door (into bathroom).

Guests will walk past main house, and through backyard to get to cottage. Don't be alarmed by the occasional groups of deer in the yard!

There are about 25 stone steps from the driveway to the gate and then to the apartment in the backyard. The entire downstairs of the apartment is yours. Upstairs, the white partition closes off the studio space, which is off-limits to guests. Bands don’t practice when you’re there and no one enters the backyard but you.

Your pets are welcome anywhere in the backyard. They can’t hurt the monkey grass, so don’t worry! You are responsible for making sure gates/doors are closed and cleaning up after your pet. Use the blue poop can near the gate. Please quiet barking dogs or bring them inside. The neighbors thank you!

The space
Our guesthouse lies in the heart of Five Points, one of Athens most prominent neighborhoods. This allows for easy access to UGA Campus, Downtown Athens, and the Beechwood Area. The conveniently located suite is only 1.6 miles from Sanford Stadium, a perfect destination for your Georgia Football weekend. The space has a separate bedroom with a King size bed, a full bathroom, and completely equipped kitchen. For additional sleeping the sofa converts to a queen size bed. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and oven providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a small dinning table and washer and dryer combination.

The owners live in the main house full time and have dogs so you may hear an occasional bark. We will likely see you in passing but will respect your privacy while you stay. Please feel free to text us with questions while you are here.

Parking: There is a separate driveway from the main house located beside the guest house. The driveway can fit two cars with additional parking available on the street.
