Welcome to Relaxing Rustic Cabin in Genoa NV at the base of the Sierra Mountains. Upon entering the cabin, you will notice the smell of pine and the spectacular views out the windows. You will have everything you need to relax, feel at home, and explore the area. Countless trails and outdoor activities in both the mountains and valley make this an outdoor enthusiast's dream.
South Lake Tahoe and Reno are 30 minutes away. activity. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are 1-15 minutes away.

The space
THE SPACE:

There are so many wonderful features about this cabin that you will fall in love with it; the smell of pine, old school real wood floors, lots of natural lighting, views of the valley and mountains, sparkly clean, and cute cabin look and feel.

A comfortable queen bed has flannel sheets and heavy comfy blankets in the winter and lighter, more breathable sheets and blankets in the summer. Guests have commented on how comfortable the bed is.

A cute freestanding gas fireplace heats the space and has a thermostat for you to control the temperature. A newly installed mini split keeps the cabin to your desired temperature in the summer months. The ceiling fan will help to circulate the warm or cool air.

A wardrobe clothes organizer serves as a closet for your belongings. Your luggage may be stored in the loft. There is PLENTY of cabinet/storage space in the bathroom (space under the sink, vanity, and closet) and in the kitchen.
There is a cute shelf with key rings on it next to the front door.

There is a table with two stools that may be used as a desk or dining table.

Fast wifi is included.

The kitchen is amazingly big for the size of the cabin. It includes a refrigerator, four burner gas cooktop, microwave with convection oven, coffee pot, and all utensils, pots, etc to make your favorite meals.

The private bathroom has a shower stall and is located off of the kitchen. An extra infrared heater is provided for the bathroom.

As shown in the included pictures here on the platform, there is a chair with cushions on it next to the wardrobe area in front of the bed, if you'd prefer to have more space, that chair may be taken out.

A vacuum and cleaning supplies are provided.


THE NEIGHBORHOOD / AREA:

The cute, quaint, little town of Genoa is 1 mile South. Genoa is the home to Nevada's oldest thirst parlor - The Genoa Bar / established in 1853. It has a few restaurants to suit every budget/price point, a general store (sandwiches and ice cream), and a variety of shops. In the summer months, you may catch a concert or town celebration in one of the parks.

Enjoy the Carson Valley and 360 degrees of mountain living, while only being 25 minutes from South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Natural Hot Springs lovers will enjoy Mark Twain's hang-out at David Walley's Resort (3 miles away). There is also a restaurant and bar at David Wally's. Grover Hot Springs in the woods of Markleeville is 22 miles away.

All varieties of dining and shopping (including Trader Joe's, Costco, and chain grocery stores) are 12 minutes.

There are lots of great hiking, biking, and snowshoeing trails behind the cabin, in the Sierra Mountains, including a trail with access to the Pacific Crest Trail.

Access to the valley's BLM public land is across the valley; to enjoy miles of hiking, biking, off-roading, ATV, or horseback rides. You just might see some wild horses!

Check out Live entertainment at the Tahoe casinos. Experience the crystal-clear water of Lake Tahoe; go boating or for a swim, lay on the beach, or rent a kayak or paddleboard.

The Carson Valley Inn offers live entertainment and a casino.

The Reno-Tahoe airport is a 45-minute drive.

The Minden airport is a 10-minute drive.

Virginia City is 27 miles away.

Guest access
Maps/GPS will bring you to the lower driveway on the property. Pull into that driveway and park all the way forward, in front of the garage. Walk up the stairs. Your cabin is the first door on the left that you come to. The lock box is around the corner to the left at the other entrance (west door).

Other things to note
The cabin is not wheelchair accessible.

Snow and ice may be part of our winter. Be prepared to walk or drive on snow or ice.

New construction! Private stand-alone in-law apartment built in 2017 with a washer and dryer installed in the shared RV garage in 2020. One bedroom with a queen bed with adequate closet space, full kitchenette that includes a Keurig machine and a regular coffee pot, living room, and dining room. BBQ grill on the front porch with a sitting area to enjoy the outdoors.

New county ordinance allows us to accept reservations for 29+ nights or more. Sorry we cannot accommodate pets.

The space
New Landscaping! Enjoy the mountain views and the laid back rural lifestyle. Centrally Located in the Minden area, easily accessible to Hwy 395. 35 minutes to South Lake Tahoe and Carson City. 40 minutes to Reno and Historic Virginia City. 25 minutes to Heavenly Nevada Ski lifts!

Apartment is on the same property as the owners but not connected as a shared space. Pool with a backyard and landscape provides privacy for the apartment. Apartment is connected to a shared garage space that owners access for storage and other vehicles.

Guest access
Guest have access to a large shared garage to park a small vehicle. Parking is also allowed in front of the right garage door or in the gravel. Guest can access the home through the garage or front porch area. Owners home is located on the other side of the property and not attached to the in-law suite.

Other things to note
The main house is located on the other side of the property where the Host family resides. The RV garage and the pool are monitored via cameras for security and safety purposes. We will arrange required professional cleaning services for long term stays past 3 months. We included this cost in the daily rate and do not charge a fee in the cleaning section. We stay busy and the pool has a cover that requires us to be present to open it. The pool is not always heated year around. Therefore, we do not make the pool a guaranteed amenity.

NEWLY RENOVATED! This immaculate 2-bedroom Carson Valley cottage is on 1 acre, situated on a cul-de-sac in a safe neighborhood of horse properties. It's got all the amenities you need for a long-term stay, close to Carson City or Lake Tahoe, and 40 miles to Reno. MILES of nearby hiking, biking and off-road trails. LOTS of parking space.
Pets (Up to 2) are WELCOME and FREE.

The space
BEDROOMS: Two private bedrooms: queen bed in #1 and 1 full bed in #2. The second bedroom can be converted to an office upon request or have a 3rd twin bed added. We have a porta-crib and child cot if you need it. ALL bedding is sanitized after each guest.

Bedroom #1(Queen) has a 65-inch TV with Roku/Netflix.
Bedroom #2(Full, Twin/office) can be supplied with a TV upon request.

BATHROOM: Private bathroom with shower which has teak removable seat and hand-held spray nozzle. Toddler stool for sink. Shower features soap/shampoo/shower gel and grab bar. Many stocked bathroom supplies, hair dryer and fluffy towels.

LIVING/DINING ROOM: 65-inch Roku TV, sectional couch, electric fireplace, free fast WiFi, multi-device charger, shelves stocked with games, puzzles and books. Poker tabletop and clay chips upon request. Four-person dining table. Basketball, toddler toys, games and goodies for every age child. Pets will have a food/water bowls, toys and some treats.

KITCHEN: Full kitchen, supplied with all cookware and dishes, utensils and condiments. Keurig coffeemaker (full supply of pods in 4 flavors), electric hot tea pot (6 flavors of tea). Full-size fridge/freezer with ice maker, oven, microwave, griddle, crockpot, toaster and blender.

HIGH CHAIR/Bumbo chair for little ones.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: BBQ (briquet or gas) available on request, cornhole game, portable fire pit that can be set up at your front door. Tie-outs provided for your dogs. Custom-made outdoor seating made from recycled snowboards with views of the snow-capped Sierras and Heavenly Valley ski slopes.

Full access to 1 acre open-fence property. You are free to explore the full orchard and natural desert front yard, and enjoy a huge flat, grass lawn yard in the back, as well as a smaller, private lawn and porch seating area only for our AirBnB guests. Home is on a corner lot at entrance to quiet cul-de-sac. (We will email you specific parking directions. Guest House has a different driveway access than owner's driveway.)

We customize our house for your needs, so PLEASE let us know in advance the ages of your kids and what type of pets you have. We will make EVERYONE feel welcome and at home.

If you have little ones, we provide a portable crib, high chair, Bumbo, toys/basketball.

Your pet will feel just as welcome, food and water bowls, toys and some special treats.

We are 1/2 mile from Johnson Lane Park, a community park/Dog Park with basketball courts (we provide basketballs), tennis courts, baseball diamond, and a wonderful playground with wheelchair access. In the winter we have 4 sleds for you to use if you plan on hitting the slopes. (Psst...we know about FREE sledding areas... just ask ;-)
