Rustic, historic 500 sq. foot studio cottage comfortable for 2 people but will accommodate up to 4 by request. Located 5 miles above Oakhurst. Only 13 miles to the south ENTRANCE of Yosemite, about 35 miles to Badger Pass ski area, 47 miles to Yosemite Valley and only 3 miles to Bass Lake. Bird and wildlife friendly yard so expect "interesting" surroundings. Eco friendly. People from all walks of life are welcome here. Also I will consider by request one night bookings if the date is available.

The space
This historic cottage is just across the walkway from the main house. Best suited for 2 people as it is a studio with no private rooms. Queen size bed plus a double size futon. The bathroom is tiny but adequate. Kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, silverware, microwave, cooking items, tea and coffee. The patio has a propane BBQ . Access to the cabin is either a walkway from main parking area or a stairway from one separate parking space above the cottage. Overnight (One night) stays will be considered by request if the date is available. I charge a reasonable cleaning fee to help keep the nightly rate affordable. Please respect this and make an effort to leave the cabin presentable. Thank you.

Access the cottage by parking in front of garage and follow walkway to cabin on left. There is also a parking space at the back of the cabin with stairway access if you so desire. Feel free to explore my yard if you enjoy flowers and birds. There is an all year creek a short walk down Dorstan Lane. Private property surrounds the creek so please only enjoy the creek from the bridge. There is wildlife in the area but they are seldom seen or a problem. Fox, bear, coyote, raccoons, skunks, possum, flying squirrels and occasionally snakes have been observed. Many bird species frequent the area.

Other things to note
Due to recent problems with guests using the provided internet access to download copyrighted material illegally it has become necessary to let guests know in advance that any activity of this type will result in a $50 charge upon discovery of such actions. This is necessary for me to be able to provide WiFi to guests because the internet provider is required to cancel internet access if its customers use the internet to engage in this type of activity. It should not affect anyone who uses the Wifi for legal uses.

Pets are only allowed with prior approval due to damages from allowing pets in the past. There is a $45 pet fee to cover cost of extra cleaning but pet owner is also responsible for any damages incurred. Also pets may not be left in the cabin. Thank you for your understanding.

As a matter of information, please note that although we are only 16 miles from the south entrance to Yosemite, the drive to Yosemite Valley is at least an hour from our location. Once the Glacier Point road is open allow about an hour to get to Glacier Point and if you plan to go to Tuolumne Meadows allow 3 hours from here. Yosemite is popular and if you want the best enjoyment avoid weekends IN the park as much as possible. Also in summer it is best to plan on going into the park as early as possible to avoid all the congestion as the day progresses. I advise a 6 am or earlier start. At any rate avoid getting to the entrance between 9 and noon.

This one bedroom bungalow is perfect for a couple, or a family of four. It is tucked into a quiet mountain neighborhood. The perfect rest stop while visiting Yosemite or Bass Lake!

We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason

Even though the bungalow is one of two guests houses, (Unit B) it is very private. Along with a private porch, even parking is separate from other guests. Please follow check in instructions to insure you are parking in the correct spot!

We are happy to ship any items left behind. Guest is responsible for shipping fees and $25 to pay the cleaner for the extra service.

We don’t recommend guests shipping anything to the house. Mountain mail is extremely unreliable.

For your safety, utility companies may occasionally shut off power in mountain areas during high fire-risk conditions. While this is a precaution to help prevent wildfires, we understand it can be an inconvenience.

To ensure your comfort during these times, we provide battery-powered lanterns and phone chargers for your use.

Please note that as these outages are beyond our control, we are unable to offer refunds related to power shut-offs. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Eagles Nest B&B is just 15 to 20 minutes to Yosemite National Park's South entrance. We are located at the southern end of the famed California "Gold Country" all along Highway 49; and 3 miles from beautiful Bass Lake.

Our property is secluded, gated, and quiet. We have views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, including some in the National Park.

The area offers some fantastic restaurants and many fast food places as well. Oakhurst has a Micro brewery, Distillery, and Winery.

The space
We offer you comfort and relaxation after a busy day out exploring the area. It will be peaceful and relatively quiet here, no busy highways or noisy neighbors. Most days are dry, comfortable, and warm in the summer, but occasionally we have a few high 90F/35C degree days and cool star filled night skies nearly every night.

The property is gated, so other than a few animals traversing the grounds on occasion, there will be no other people on the property outside of the owner who resides there part time when not travelling.

The Guest House is fully furnished and all kitchen appliances, utensils, etc., are available, its actually quite well stocked. The bathroom is also fully stocked, though we do ask people to bring their own soaps and toothpastes as these personal type items vary widely. There is a Washer and Dryer available for use (at no additional fee) and also a BBQ gas grille on the private patio. Each bedroom features its own separate, private, outdoor deck for sunbathing, reading, photography or just watching the wildlife.

If any significant problems arise during your stay, and if the owner is not at home in the other structure on the property, please feel free to call or text at the number you are provided and someone should be able to get you assistance in as little as 15-30 minutes time.

Like anywhere, we do have occasional power outages, internet outages, or similar things beyond our control.

Guests will have access to the entire 1000 sq.ft. guest house we call "Eagles Nest". ENTRY is on the Northeast Corner GROUND Floor just past the private patio. No Need to climb the stairs outside.

There is a lockbox on the driveway gate at the bottom of the property, a code will be provided to you to access it, the guest house door key and a remote control to operate the automatic gate on the driveway is provided inside that lockbox.

Please Note - THE GATE NEEDS TO BE OPENED AND CLOSED each time as you pass through it.

Due to our own domestic animals being on the property from time to time, or other wild animals coming onto the property, we ask that you Please KEEP the GATE CLOSED at ALL Times when not utilizing it.

While we have never had ANY trespassing or other concerns here during the entire 15 years we have lived on the property (or in this town) Keeping the gate closed when not in use is for everyone's safety, our pets, other wild animals, our family, and yours....Thanks in advance for observing this house rules.

One last thing - please drive very slowly while on the property for our pets lives are potentially at risk.

Starting in the Summer of 2024 (and perhaps every summer after that) Yosemite National Park will require a "RESERVATION" to access the park, not just pay the park entrance fee, as it is over-visited in the summer months according to Park Rangers and you will not be admitted without a prior reservation for those dates and times you select at the government website - recreation dot gov.

Our property is secluded, gated, and quiet. We have views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, including some in the National Park. Wait until you see the stars up here at night - 3000ft. Elevation. It's breathtaking !

Most guests find our location without any problems, but on occasion we do have those who cannot find our location (as it is semi-secluded). Therefore we ask that you stay in touch along your journey and especially when you come into town or are close by. Cell phone reception is potentially challenging in some places in the mountains and more so with some carriers than others, so please call or text us while in town (Oakhurst) - OR - If you feel you may not be that good with directions, we are happy to meet you in town or somewhere close-by to help guide you to the property, just let us know if you need any assistance with finding the place.

We maintain a minimum 2 night stay on any weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) during the spring and summer months - May through September - and a 3 night minimum stay on the three (3) Major Holiday weekends of the summer. Memorial Day Weekend in May, The 4th of July (unless it falls mid week as it can), and Labor Day Weekend in September all require a minimum 3 night stay even if you plan to check out early or check in late any of those weekend days.

Please understand that these are THE busiest weekend's of the year for us and we sometimes have multiple guests in "backup" positions wanting to book all three nights of those weekends should there be a cancellation, etc.

The area offers some fantastic restaurants of almost any cuisine and many fast food places as well. Oakhurst has a Micro brewery, Distillery, and Winery. There are 3 Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, Hardware and Sporting Good Stores, Banks, and Equipment Rental places. There are NO big box stores up here so just be advised. There is also a Casino nearby with lots of entertainment and restaurants as well - in the summer there are occasional outdoor concerts there s as well.

Mix and mingle with wildlife, such as deer, fox, turkey, squirrels, rabbits, quail, hawks, eagles, and other birds, and yes even the occasional mountain lion and black bear. Whether your here for fishing, hiking, boating, swimming, panning for gold, mountain biking, skiing, off-roading, sight seeing or just to relax - We have it all close by, so ..........Welcome to Eagles Nest and Welcome to fun !

Something to note for 2024 summer. If traveling to see Yosemite National Park, there is now a requirement by the Park Service to have a reservation to enter the park on any weekend, and after mid June timeframe a reservation to enter the Park will be required on ANY day of the summer season, as the Park is so popular that it is in fact - overvisited. If you do not make your reservation on line at recreation-dot-gov for Yosemite National Park, it is my understanding that you will be turned back at the gate.

🧑‍🍳 We recommend only “light cooking” in our kitchenette. There is a two burner hot plate, microwave, Keurig, toaster, small air fryer, refrigerator, and basic cooking supplies.

🛜 As with all mountain Wi-Fi you may experience downtime or limited service. (We wish we had better options)

💡Power outages occasionally occur, we will do our best to keep you informed in that case but do NOT have any backup source of power.
(we have lanterns at the cabin)

📱 Cell service is poor in the mountain area. Be prepared by taking a screen shot of the directions.

⚠️ ❄️ CHAINS and/or 4 WHEEL Drive may be required to get to the cabin and Yosemite in the winter months.

🏠 There are LOTS of stairs leading to the cabin entrance.

🐞 We have regular pest control service but you are in the mountains so you may see a bug or spider.
We recommend bringing a good supply of bug repellent for the mosquitos in the warmer months.

⚠️There's lots of wildlife in the area including bears so take a minute to educate yourself and traveling partners on what to do if you encounter one.

Comfortable, spacious, 1 room studio located at the end of a quiet cul de sac in Oakhurst, Ca. 20 miles to the South Gate of Yosemite and 6 miles to Bass Lake. The space
The Studio is bright and welcoming and suitable for 4 people with a cal king bed, twin futon and twin air mattress upon request. You will see deer, birds and maybe even some turkeys! Take a walk on our quiet street and enjoy the mountain air. 8 minutes to two grocery stores, numerous restaurants and bars.

Please read the house manual for all other info. There are instructions for checkout. Please be aware that there is limited wifi in this area.

Please let me know ahead of arrival if you will be needing the twin air mattress and I can set it up for you.

There is a $50 fee for late checkout until 1pm. After 1pm, you will be charged for an addtl night.

We are located 11 miles from the south gate of Yosemite, 3 miles from Oakhurst, and 4 miles from Bass Lake on year around Creek. Perfect for those wanting a stopover on the way to Yosemite. Located on Lewis Creek at 3000' elevation offers cool summers and mild winters. Accommodations include a queen bed, a sofa that pulls out to a king, a large bathroom with a claw foot tub, a private patio with a BBQ, and a fully equipped kitchen. You have full access to Lewis Creek in the backyard.

The space
Accommodates two very nice but can sleep four if you don't require a lot of privacy. The bedroom wall is a half wall with no door. The sofa bed takes up the entire living room when opened so will be very crowded when used.
Lewis Creek is beautiful and a huge asset to this location. The creek can be enjoyed by all who stay here. Access is along the sideyard. Please Note: The refrigerator is a small bar size.

Guest access
The neighborhood park is also on the creek. It is a 1/2 block to the north and can be used while visiting. A wonderful place to walk your dog or just go for a hike both up and down the creek.

*****IMPORTANT***** Yosemite requires reservations in the busy months. Be sure to check with the Park about their requirements.


Besides Yosemite National Park, there are many areas of the Sierras to explore. Bass Lake is a very popular place to swim, boat, and fish. Sierra Sky Ranch Road will take you to many new areas to see that are much less crowded than the park

Welcome to That Red Cabin! This cozy mountain cabin is your perfect Yosemite stay. Located just 15 minutes from the south gates of Yosemite National Park, and 10 minutes from the town of Oakhurst. You’ll be close to Yosemite, but also conveniently close to grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and everything else this cute mountain town has to offer!

We’re also very close to Bass Lake, and walking distance to Lewis Creek Trailhead, a National Forest trail featuring two waterfalls.

The space
This cozy studio is the perfect place for two people visiting Yosemite National Park or just wanting to unwind. Small in size but huge in coziness, it has everything you need for a lovely stay. Smart TV, wifi, kitchenette, walk-in shower, washer and dryer, and a wonderful mountain view you can enjoy from the bed or from the deck!

Other things to note
- If you're coming during the winter months, you will need to carry tire chains. We are at 3,400 ft of altitude so we do get snow in the neighborhood. It's so beautiful, but make sure you and your vehicle are prepared! Winter conditions can make certain outdoor areas icy and slippery, so please be mindful of that.

- We have Starlink Internet and are really happy with the results! It is still satellite internet, which means WiFi might go out during really bad weather (a lot of rain or snow).

- We have AT&T and we have service on our phones. Other carriers might not.

- No parties allowed whatsoever.

- Well-behaved dogs are allowed, but please keep in mind this is a 350 sqft studio. A small/medium dog might be a better fit for the place. There's a $50 pet fee per reservation. Please don’t bring pets without informing the host.

- Smoking is not allowed.

- No open flames of any kind are allowed all year round. Wildfires can easily start and spread, especially in the summer.

KITCHENETTE: compact refrigerator with small freezer, microwave, oven, toaster, tea kettle, coffee maker, blender, stand mixer, pots and pans, silverware, bowls, plates, cups, wine glasses, baking sheet. NO dishwasher.

1 Bedroom has a queen bed with 52” Smart TV (bring your streaming passwords, no cable).
1 Bedroom has two full beds with a 42” Smart TV (bring your streaming passwords, no cable).
All beds have premium pillows, soft blankets and sheets. Each bedroom has: nightstands with reading lamps and USB charging stations, black out privacy curtains, luggage rack, dresser for clothes, closet with hangers. We are conveniently close to town, our property is located on a street that is active during the day. If you prefer to sleep during the day, we have white noise machines in each bedroom.

BATHROOM and LAUNDRY: tankless water heater for on demand hot water, shower stall (NO bathtub), sink, toilet and convection ceiling heater. Towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash. Washer and dryer.

HEATING and COOLING: Split air conditioning with individual super quiet units located in the living room and each bedroom. It is well equipped to easily handle the hottest and coldest days of the year. Automatically set to 74, if you require a cooler or warmer temperature please let your hosts know. There are 3 ceiling fans, located in the main living area and the two bedrooms. There is a 24” electric fireplace in the living area that has 3D flame effects.

OUTDOOR AREA: 2 seating areas for wildlife viewing, outdoor furniture, small table, lounge chairs, BBQ grill. At night, the yard comes alive with colorful solar lights. Located in the heart of Oakhurst, street activity is present during the day. In the evenings, it is quiet.

CHILDREN & PETS: Children under 12 and pets/animals are not permitted as we live off an active road and the property is not completely fenced in.

PARTIES: No parties or large groups.

NO SMOKING: or vaping of any substances inside the guest house (it will trigger the smoke alarms).

QUIET HOURS: Please respect our quiet hours from 10PM to 8AM.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT: Check in from 3 PM to Midnight. Check out promptly at 11 AM. Early check-in and late checkouts are usually unavailable. This includes luggage and grocery drop-offs.

WILDLIFE ANIMALS: For your safety, please do not approach or feed any animals that you may encounter on the property.

This private studio is located over a locked garage that is used for storage. This guesthouse is on the same large property as the main house but very private, you will also have your own driveway and parking area.

‼️Power outages can occur at anytime without notice, this is out of our control & we do not have a back up source. We will do our best to keep you informed and comfortable. (this is rare)

‼️We welcome one small pet with a pet fee, please add to the guest count (message if you would like to bring more than one) No pets on the furniture & keep them on a leash outside.

This private room is very popular room amongst couples and has all the amenities. However please note that this is a small room. The longer edge of the bed is against the wall and there is no headboard. If you are looking specifically for a large and comfortable accommodation, we recommend choosing the Red Rose room or the Garden Rose rooms

The Wild Rose isn't for everyone. Rose herself looks down on the jetted tub with a skylight (no shower) and oversees a "funky" purple room with chocolate-brown accents that connects with the main area of the house, making it easy to be the first to the Keurig coffee maker in the morning for Newman's Own organic coffee. Don't worry. It's easy to get a good night's rest or a power nap in the queen-sized bed. It might be the room for you!

The Red Rose has it all, with a private deck, a log cabin vaulted ceiling, a separate entrance, double sinks, shower, and jetted tub. It also has a luxurious California King bed and a very comfortable futon (full bed). This is a very spacious room with great views that just may include a soaring eagle. This is a great year-round room, and is perfect for holiday get-aways.

Guests may arrive at their convenience; however, guests may not be allowed to check into the room until after 3:00 PM.

All guests are required to check out by 11:00 am. If a guest needs additional time, upon request only, one additional hour may be allowed without penalty, per the sole-discretion of the innkeeper and their schedule. Additional time will be billed at a rate no less than $50 per hour.

In order for the hotel to guarantee a reservation, a valid credit card is required for the Hotel to authorize for the full amount of the reservation. Credit Card will be charged day of arrival, but may be authorized in advance to guarantee the reservation. In the case a payment method is not verifiable by the Hotel, it will attempt to contact the Guest to verify payment method. If, after reasonable attempt, the payment method is not verifiable, the Hotel may, at its sole discretion, cancel the reservation.

Guests are required to cancel their reservation 72 hours prior to 3PM date of arrival.

No Smoking: All our Guest Rooms are Non-Smoking rooms. Smoking is permitted in the Rear Patio downstairs for our guests who smoke. Smoking and being around smoke has been determined to be injurious to your health. ANY guest who smokes in a guest room will be charged a $400 cleaning deposit.

No pets are allowed at the property. If a pet is determined to be associated with any guest room, the guest room will be billed $200 for cleaning fees.

Candles are not permitted due to insurance and fire hazard - Sorry.

No rose petals are allowed in the hot tubs. Damages will be charged to guests.

Room keys must be returned to the front desk upon check out. If a guest loses the keys or fails to return them to the front desk, the guest room will incur a $200 replacement fee.
