Relax with the family on this peaceful country-side hill in Dubois, Indiana. 17 minutes to Jasper and 17 minutes to French Lick. Patoka Lake is nearby, as well as attractions like Holiday World in Santa Claus, West Baden Casino & Resort, Big Splash, indoor karting, mini-golf, and small-town restaurants. You'll find necessities nearby, including a Walmart. We always have fresh, multicolored eggs to sell from our chickens who are also fed organically.

Guests may access two gravel parking spaces and all of the guest house. You are welcome to also enjoy the yard. Please ask to use fire pit. Main house and front patio is not for guest use.

Other things to note
Be mindful that we do have a septic system with our home. This means that chemicals can not be poured down drains, and we do not have garbage disposals in our kitchen sinks. A drain cover will be provided to prevent food going down the drain. Throw away all un-eaten food. Garbage bags will be collected and stored in our storage room. We usually take all garbage out on Saturdays. For privacy, you may leave your trash bags tied outside of your room and we will collect it for you.

Phone service may be spotty. We use Wi-fi calling, and it works well. You just have to make sure to connect right away to our Wi-fi.

Also PLEASE BE ADVISED due to the rural, wooded location, that certain OUTDOOR pests like flees and TICKS may be present. regardless of the preventative pest management practices that we utilize, it is impossible to guaruntee that no ticks can be picked up and brought inside. If you go outside in the yard, you will want to check your body, hair and especially PETS for ticks.

Unfortunately, in the event of severe weather, such as tornadoes, we currently do NOT have a storm shelter on site.

Our 672 square foot carriage house is located above our stand-alone garage in the Kennedy-King neighborhood. Constructed in 2019, it has all of the conveniences of home including: a kitchen equipped with full-sized appliances and everything needed to prepare a gourmet meal, an open living/dining/kitchen area with separate bedroom, and a full bath with stackable washer & dryer for use during your stay.

The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and plenty of storage in the walk-in closet. The living area has a couch suitable for sleeping on, accommodating up to 3 guests maximum. Dining table doubles as a work/desk area for our guests staying for business.

We offer high speed Wi-fi, a 50” Roku TV supporting all of your streaming services (we do not have cable).

There are 2 full bedrooms with a Queen bed in each room and a 3rd twin rollaway bed which will make it 3 beds in total. There are 2 full baths and you will never run out of hot water! There is an instant hot water tank so the hot water is endless!

There is a standing water dispenser that serves cold and hot water for those who do not like well water.

Working from home? There is a comfortable desk space in one of the bedrooms so if you need privacy you can shut the door and work away!

Each bedroom has convenient charging places for your cell phone right next to your bed and a TV. There is also a large TV in the living room. There is access to full TV/cable services from COMCAST as well as extras such as MAX and NETFLIX for your usage.

There is a gas grill and patio set located outside that you are able to use as well as plenty of outdoor chairs to sit and enjoy the outdoors.

Interested in a special experience? The Saturday after Thanksgiving, a Christmas train comes through on the tracks behind our property. It is all lit up in Christmas lights and plays music! A bonfire is built in the woods as you wait to see this truly unique train...it usually hits our way around 3-5 a.m. but WELL WORTH getting up early!

The Burdick Station is located on 4 acres in the country where you will find walking trails through woods where you can observe nature or watch the train go by along the far side of the acreage. The train tracks are located off of our property approximately 1/8 of a mile away. It is truly a great stop!

The space
This Suite is set apart and offers guests private entrance and privacy. This suite has two queen beds and can sleep up to 4 - 6 guests.

Our gourmet Breakfast is available . If you want breakfast take the "We want breakfast at 8am or 9am" note and put it on the kitchen counter. If your note is not on the counter by 6 am- no breakfast will be available. Additionally, if you have allergies or diet restrictions you should let us know by 6 am.
