Allan did everything he could to ensure exceptional service. He moved our reservation to a lower floor before we checked in so we would be more comfortable during a heat way. He offered many suggestions to make our stay pleasant. When we returned from one of his restaurant suggestions we mentioned the food was great , but the service wasn’t very welcoming. He said that was unacceptable and within a few minutes got back to us saying the entire meal cost was going to be refunded. The Derby room was very large and comfortable. The home is very charming as you can see from the pictures and the staircase makes you feel you are stepping back into a gilded age. And the breakfast was so delicious I wished we could have stayed much longer. I will definitely stay here again."

The owners have lovingly taken the time to restore each room to perfection. All the rooms in the inn had been done up in Christmas decor. Upon entering our room, we were delighted to see our very own lighted Christmas tree! For breakfast you can select from a variety of items including homemade bakery goods. Everything was so delicious. I’m going to say that this was the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The hospitality and comfort were outstanding! We look forward to staying here again."

In addition to the lovely bed & breakfast Suites upstairs, The Pillow and Paddock has a large, farmhouse-style one-bedroom apartment with sunroom on the main level. The apartment is cozy and comfortable with plenty of space to gather with family and friends in the sunroom or on the front porch.

The sunroom is a perfect spot for a bridal party to assist the bride as she gets ready or a separate sleeping area for children using the pull-out sofa. With a kitchenette so you can serve refreshments or prepare breakfast to enjoy on the front wrap-around porch.

Our tiny space is located in Cherokee Triangle, walking distance to Cherokee Park, Bardstown Road, Baxter Ave. Also 5 mins drive to downtown and hospital district. This small space is designed for one. A private patio completes the space. This is the perfect place to come home to after a long day, or a home base to explore all that Louisville offers!

The space
This is a studio apartment with all the essentials. Of note, this is a very small space, but thoughtfully designed. The bed is a twin, but can be pulled out to a queen size. There is a full kitchen with stove top, microwave, coffee maker etc, however there is no oven. There is strong Wi-Fi as well as a smart TV. You have access to a shared washer and dryer in the basement. This space is ideal for one person, although it can accommodate two. There is a private entrance with a private patio which we are still improving!

Guest access
Private entrance to the studio apartment with private patio. Street parking on Eastern Star alley next to house is an easy parking option. You will walk through the shared backyard to access your private entrance and patio.

Other things to note
We think this would be the perfect place for a traveling nurse, medical student on away rotations, or someone staying in Louisville for an extended period of time.

We do have two dogs that goes outside in the backyard that you will walk through to access your entrance. We always go out with them so they are never unsupervised. They love new friends and are well socialized.

The Kentucky Derby guest house is an affordable place
to stay that’s comfortable with plenty of room. Sleeps 6 comfortably with 3 queen beds w/ linens but there is plenty of room for more guests with SELF SUPPLIED air mattresses and bedding, we do not supply them. Great for an overnight stay on a road trip , or a multi day getaway while you’re in Kentucky visiting the Bourbon Trail.

A tastefully appointed, studio carriage house on quiet alley with lots of light, hard wood floors, efficiency kitchen, and full bath. It comfortably sleeps two and is within two blocks of local favorites Cherokee Park and Bardstown Road.

The space
The 500 sq-ft apartment is spacious, clean, and uncluttered. There is an unmistakable zen vibe accented with furnishings and artwork from southeast Asia. The full-size bed has super soft sheets and a cozy comforter (additional sleeping arrangements can be made with a twin air-bed). There is wi-fi internet access and a TV (no cable, we recommend guests bring a roku stick). The kitchen includes a coffee maker, microwave, 1/2 size fridge, countertop oven, induction cooktop, and rice cooker.

SIDE DOOR ENTRANCE/EXIT FOR GUESTS
Please use the side black door on the south corner of the building (access entry via front porch). This door has a code that you will need to enter (included with your booking confirmation). Please be sure the door closes all the way and that the lock engages (after 25 seconds). Once inside you will head upstairs to your room number and use a second code the key lock box next to your door.

GETTING INTO YOUR ROOM / USING YOUR KEY BOX
Once you’ve arrived at your room, there is a key box located next to the door. Enter your code and then press in the larger button at the top of the box down to open. If you enter the wrong code, there is a small button at the bottom of the box that you can press downward to reset. We recommend leaving your key in the box at all times so that you do not lose it! Any lost or unreturned keys will result in a $50 charge.
