The ceilings are high and lots of windows. One new window air conditioner TV queen bed. Not recommended for persons with any type of handicap or large as it is NOT ADA compliant. Not for very large persons . Not for persons with allergies as this is a pet friendly property. Not for persons who expect perfection, perfect for pets and pet friendly people.

Perfect for students, traveling nurse, seniors who want a month rental, or beach lovers who are on a budget.

"...Nestled in old live oaks and a forest of greenery is the continuously updated creation of a small, sweet, serene and quite private cottage; a delightful hideaway, 1 1/2 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Close to Belleair Beach, Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Reddington Beach, Reddington Shores and the many others that line the Pinellas County coastline, including Madeira Beach, Treasure Island Beach, Sunset Beach, St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille Beach!
Owners Ron and Mike have created a little paradise adjacent to their 1887 Arts n' Crafts home, reputed to be the oldest in Largo. This is a two story, five gable/dormer wooden house made of heart of pine which had been countrified by previous owners. It was moved in the early 1960s to its present location retaining most of its integrity. Using this as their primary residence for over 32 years, they have painstakingly restored this house - inside and out - continually improving, upgrading and designing walkways, patios, and garden areas with imaginative inventiveness..."
Here are some pictures of what we call our cottage. It is a respectful distance from the rear of our home, connected with an upscale deck which surrounds two sides of the cottage and the complete back portion of our home. The "Cottage" is a totally separate building - not connected to the house except by decking with its own dedicated power source and air conditioning system controlled by the resident guest.
The "Cottage' has two doors: an oversized front door entrance, and a back door off the kitchen that reveals a very private, cozy morning sun deck with lounge chairs, patio table, plants, and an upscale gas grill and all the cook's utensils. The washer/dryer are also housed off this rear deck. Parking dedicated to guests' use is just a few steps - about 60 feet - from the front door of the Cottage. There is more parking available if desired. It's just been updated, and everything is new as of 2020: stove, microwave, refrigerator, double sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal, a super blender - on request (Montel Williams), upscale cutlery and upscale dishes, granite counter/bar with 1950's swivel stools, complete, new central air conditioning/heating including vent to the bathroom, totally brand-new bathroom - shower only. Indeed, even all the blinds are brand new. The stackable washer/dryer combo is closeted off the back deck - dedicated to Cottage use, a few steps from the kitchen back door along with an upscale gas grill (permission and guidance required - just ask!).
For the beach enthusiasts, we have over-sized beach towels, a great beach umbrella and 2 of the best beach chairs on the market! There are two closets, one housing an extra wide ironing board and iron, with plenty of hanging/storage space; one next to a granite topped two drawer dresser for your convenience. There is a wall mounted 41" TCL Smart Television (new as of August 2024) and Wi-Fi via BrightHouse/Spectrum Cable Services. As seen in the pictures, there are two matching, highest-end, Queen-size Memory Foam Sleeper Couches which easily convert to divinely comfortable queen size beds. One is devoted for guests - open and fully prepared with COTTON SHEETS, many pillows, an oversized comforter and blankets - all freshly laundered of course! The other is used primarily as oversized couch but can also be prepared for sleeping on ADVANCED NOTICE.
Also, as pictured, there is a step up into the bathroom and another step up into the kitchen area. The front of the granite bar/counter is on the same main level as the main room.
Our guests are very happy with what we have designed and constructed and are continually fine tuning in an attempt to always make it better - continually - in any way we can, yet with careful and intentional designing of the approximately 500 square feet we happily call "Paradise Cottage".
We pay attention to details and are always striving to improve. My heritage is Dutch/English and am true to my roots of fastidious cleanliness and order with intentional design. And I will attempt to make everything as comfortable and pleasant for you as possible.
With views of a former golf course, open fields and a lush jungle type environment, and NO NEIGHBORS at the end of a "NO OUTLET" street, privacy and serenity prevails, with minimal to no traffic, after 6:00 pm. Further up the street with no effect on our location, there are Largo Medical Hospital, The Diagnostic Medical Center, The Eye Institute, and The Amish Country Store. The Pinellas Trail a 45-mile-long major county walking/running/biking path is within eyesight! Elison/Pinecrest Place - an upscale retirement condo complex is within 2 blocks! There are restaurants, thrift stores, an Ace Hardware, a Publix Supermarket, jewelry stores, gas stations, a veterinarian and so much more within a 1/4-mile walk - including Taylor Park a 5-minute walk, a wonderful, and very large, lake centered county park open from morning to night!
Sound like paradise?! It is to us, and we hope you'll spend some time with us where serenity, peaceful surroundings and nature abound!!!

I just wanted to reassure you that here that we are being very diligent in our cleaning of the Cottage and environs which has always been a priority we are known for. In lieu of the virus, taking extra precautions in disinfecting the condo with each cleaning. The coronavirus does not thrive in heat and hates the sunshine. And our salty is a natural disinfectant. is. As you know, we are a solo act here, not a hotel or condo situation that involves contact with other people. We feel we are in a superior location and our set of circumstances allow us to control our environment.
Also, as discussed with others, if your plans of travel alleviate public transportation, you are again in much greater control of your environment.

ALSO, IN THIS AREA ARE LOCATED THE STACKABLE WASHER/DRYER COMBO, housed privately, DEDICATED TO THE COTTAGE GUESTS' USE. Please see all of our pictures to get a complete look!

We are on high ground here - 26 feet above sea level with no threat of flooding or high-water concerns!
We are also on level 1 electrical grid shared with a major hospital which is our out of sight neighbor up the street.
During the last hurricane, we housed 2 guests and 2 dogs for 10 days while they waited for electrical power to be restored to their home.
We lost power for 10 minutes!
Private serenity abounds here with no neighbors! We are at the end of a no outlet street which sees no traffic after 6:00 pm and little before that. It's impossible to attain a more quiet, peaceful and serene area without a trip to pastureland! Nature's best is represented here with literally hundreds of potted plants carefully attended and scores of planted bushes, trees and plants of many, many varieties appealing to all the senses while raising the visual to new levels. There are patios, gardens, deck areas and common places throughout the entire property which entice and tantalize while commanding beauty and stature with its many adornments of classical statuary - Greek & Roman, columns, sconces, many unique stone/ceramic pieces, a large variety of fountains and bird baths, a huge Buddha, many more items, both Antique and Vintage and even some gargoyles - all while experiencing a very early - 1887 - Arts 'n Crafts home gently restored by its present owners. It's always a work in progress; but we don't call it work - but a labor of love! Please see all the pictures as we add new ones as time goes on.
