Plans didn’t work out as we were hoping, so we ended up getting to their home later than expected. Bernie was waiting up to greet us and he showed us to our room. The room was charming and welcoming and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! In the morning we had fresh coffee waiting as well as homemade pastries, and lets not forget to mention quite a nice fruit selection. We enjoyed the coffee and the homemade bread was to die for!! This is a 5 bedroom 2.5 bath home with a pool. This home is where you could bring the whole family to have lots of fun and create lasting memories. It's located in a quaint and quiet neighborhood, yet minutes away from everything. The pool is heated, so it could be enjoyed all year long. There is an extra charge for heating the pool/spa.

This home boasts more than 3000 ft² of living space. The 5 bedroom and 2.5 bath home has 2 separate living areas and a gaming room.

SLEEPING SPACE
This wonderfully spacious home sleeps 14-20 people. The Owner's King Suite has its own private work space, its own private bathroom with a separate shower, and 2 people bathtub jacuzzi. The Owner's Queen Suite is a charming room that sleeps 2.
Three family rooms - 2 sets of bunks, 2 full sized beds, and 2 twin beds. All rooms have smart TVs.

LIVING SPACE
Large formal living room is a great place to interact and mingle with your family. The comfortable sofa is a queen-size sleeper. Next to the formal living room is the formal dining room with a large family table to host a hearty meal. The cozy den has a friendly appeal to lay back and relax and watch TV. A fully equipped kitchen with everything you will need to cook a delicious meal.

FUN SPACE
Upstairs hosts the "Gaming Room," so BRING YOUR OWN CONSOLES!! 4 separate TVs to play your Xbox, Playstation, or Wii. A theater size TV to host Movie Night. The Gaming Room also has an arcade machine and board games. For Florida fun, enjoy the large screened in lanai with a pool. Go out to the lanai and sit by the pool and enjoy a refreshing drink or go over to the deck to barbeque for BBQ Night. The pool is heated with a spa. The heating of the pool/spa is an extra cost that requires a 3+ night stay. And don't forget the oversized yard where you could enjoy games such as life-size Jenga, horseshoes, or corn hole.

Enjoy the Pool and its tropical surroundings or just relax in a lounge chair. We are walking distance to Lee’s Pizza, Armature Works, River Walk, and much more... Included is a smart TV, WIFI, and Two Bicycles to go explore.

The space
Our Pool House is a converted part of a detached garage in our backyard. The Main House is where we live, which is a Historic Victorian style home built in 1903, and is a contributing structure to the Tampa Heights Historic District. The Pool House is your own private space. The pool and pool deck are common area with our family.

There is ample street parking in front of our house and on the our street in general.

Other things to note
The Air Conditioner is a window AC unit. Like any window unit, they do emit some amount of white noise while running.

There is a Dehumidifier in the room that we keep running to help keep the unit a little more comfortable, but you can turn it off if you feel the need.

The Queen Bed is turned sideways to allow for more room. The sideways orientation is similar to a "Day Bed".

The Bikes are kept outside the unit. Feel free to use them anytime. If the tires need air, there is a bike pump in the closet. There are also bike Helmets in the closet.

If the light outside the room is too bright at night, there's a pull string on the socket, so you can turn it off.

Dexter’s Cottage is located in the heart of Seminole Heights. Less than a half mile walk or bike to several cafes, bars and restaurants. Seminole Heights is known for being the little trendy, historic foodie capital of Tampa. Less than 10 minutes to Downtown, Amalie Arena, Riverwalk, Tampa General Hospital and Ybor City. 15 min to airport, Hard Rock, Hyde Park and 30-45 min to the beaches. There is a kayak that other guests have left for you to use. 5 minutes walk to the river.

The space
Kitchenette offers a full fridge/freezer, sink, mini-convection/toaster oven and a 2 burner countertop burner that can easily be pulled out of the cabinet. The bathroom offers a pedestal sink, and a walk-in shower. The dining room seats 4, the living room has space for an air mattress, the couch is cozy and the Roku tv in the living room has Netflix and local programming, and allows access to any other viewing apps you may need! The bedroom offers a queen sized bed, closet and chest to store your clothes, and a desk. There’s a welcome book on the table with a bunch of local recommendations of places to eat/see while you’re in town, be sure to sign in on a guest page and give other people your recommendations!

Once you arrive, open the French doors with electronic lock to this beautiful, zen, tiny studio loft. You will be greeted with vaulted ceilings in the living space, a small couch that lays flat for 1 person (best suited for a child, as it is smaller than a twin bed when flat), tall built-ins with plenty of storage, 43 inch smart fire tv, and sound bar.

To the right is the kitchen with granite counters, full sized fridge and a deep sink. Fully stocked with all main amenities including Keurig, silverware, pots, pans, plates & filtered water throughout.

Towards the back you’ll find the lower lofted area with a Oak Queen Murphy Bed that also has a built in 40 inch desk for ample workspace, power, and Wifi. Also on the ground floor, take one step up into a newly renovated bathroom with filtered water, great water pressure, tiled shower, and backlit mirror.

Climb up the back stairs to reach the mini loft, accented with a beautiful oak wood banister, a comfy Queen futon mattress (equipped with sheets), floor desks, and built in ceiling lights. This loft space is perfect for gaming/reading/lounging/working as well as another place to sleep.

Outside the patio door you will find your own private deck surrounded by plants and greenery with ample seating, shade, and fire pit. There is also a grill which will be shared with our main house, however free for your use at anytime.

Please read the description and check out house rules before booking. Our property is geared towards adults, but families with well behaved kids that can swim are most definitely welcome, this is for safety as well as noise. We just finished construction and are now working on the front landscaping.

☆Fun Property/Host Facts

• We have a 3000 square foot indoor area for Future amenity expansion!

• It took almost 12 months to complete our home and was 12 to 14 hour days. Would I do it again? Absolutely, maybe, possibly, depends on the day

• The pool can cost upwards of $1900 a month to heat. Not using the pool let us know:)

• Due to the size of the pool, chemicals and pumps cost around $325 a month

• We're committed to paying a living wage to our cleaning crew and helper. We pay $350 each cleaning. With a helper and cleaning people we spend around $4,000 a month, which helps support locals.

• Our last high-end property was the number one Airbnb in Lutz, with over 150 reviews, all 5 stars!

• As a host, I have over 400 five-star reviews, and we are committed to a great experience for our guests.

• We're thankful that over the past 7 years, we have built up an amazing group of people that stay with us every year. So, our calendar is limited on availability sometimes.

☆Additional information

We are available on property if you would need anything. The entry door has a digital key card. Please understand that our property is not for parties or events as we have close neighbors and wouldn't want to disturb them. This is like a huge Mother-in-law or duplex, it is connected to the primary house where we live but you have your own private entrance and there's no access between the two homes except in the main entrance. We also don't use the outdoor amenities while guests are present, I do, however, clean the pool area daily in the morning time to maintain the perfect outdoor experience and walk the dogs through the courtyard. For any questions, please don't hesitate to ask as we'd be glad to try to accommodate any request:)

☆Energy Efficiency

We're committed to be more energy efficient. Our home is a net-zero home and is powered by a 40kw solar array. The thermostats will not go below 68° and heat will be disabled during inside temperatures above 70°. If windows or doors are left open for more than a couple minutes please turn off the air conditioning. When leaving for an extended period of time please up the temperature of the AC.

**No smoking, including e-cigarettes in home. The air conditioning system will be recirculated to the primary home and will cause respiratory issues for one of the family members**

**We use Tide and Gain Original laundry detergent & scented Downey/Gain original softener on the sheets and towels to minimize wrinkles. Although the smell is not strong, please let us know in advance if you're allergic to softener or sensitive to fragrances**

•Suncoast Trail, a 42-mile paved trail 5 minutes (16175 SR 54. Odessa, FL 33556)

•Downtown Tampa anywhere from 27 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.

•We are within 30 min of the Hard Rock Casino and many golf courses such as TPC Tampa, Fox Hollow, Cheval, Harbor Isles, and West Chase Country Club  

•Tampa is about 5 to 10 minutes south of where the home is located.

•Disney and all Orlando theme parks are anywhere from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minute

Other things to note
This is a large estate with guest quarters. The guest quarter is completely private with a separate entrance from the common area and is essentially a 2100 sq ft full house. The back door enters to the courtyard. The outdoor amenities (pool & hot tub) are not used by us when guests are visiting. I do, however, maintain the pool and coffee bar daily in the morning to make sure that the guest has a top-notch experience! As well as walk the dogs in the backyard which requires us to go through the Breezeway of the courtyard.
