The house is beautifully situated close to both Lake Mälaren (Ekoln) and Uppsala. It is 150 meters down to the jetty in Lake Mälaren. Hammarskogs Herrgård with café is within walking distance. The house has a combined bedroom/living room with an IKEA Hemnes daybed that can be used as a sofa, single bed or double bed. It is also possible to set up an extra bed and/or a cot, even if the space is limited. The toilet is accessed from this room. In the next room there is a shower and washing machine as well as access to sauna/relax. Here you can also set up an extra bed but the space is small. With us, you live 13 km from Uppsala C and 7 km from the E4, which takes you further towards Arlanda or Stockholm. 1000 meters from the accommodation, a bus goes directly to Uppsala C and during some summer days, you can take a steam train to the city with the museum railway Lennakatten.

The guest house is located on the outskirts of Gunsta community, close to nature. In the area, there is the nice Stiernhielms Krog & Livs, where you can eat well or shop a little.

The house is completely newly renovated and is located on our property in quiet Starbo on the border of the nature reserve Hågadalen/Nåsten, but with proximity to town and service with shops.

The house has a kitchenette with oven and two hot plates, fridge with freezer compartment. The bathroom has a washing machine, shower, toilet and sink.

In the room there is a bed 90 cm as well as an extra bed that is set out if necessary. Table with chairs, wardrobe and dresser.

The space
Car parked in carport or in the driveway. Please note that it is not allowed to charge an electric car. There is no electric car charger, it is not allowed to charge an electric car in the ordinary outlet. Charging is available at nearby ICA Maxi.

It is not allowed to smoke in the property or on the plot. Animals/pets are unfortunately not allowed as we have allergies in the family.

Guests clean themselves:
Vacuum, dust and mop floors if necessary, wash and put away clean dishes, empty garbage, wipe surfaces. In the bathroom, the toilet, sink and shower should also be wiped clean.

When renting sheets, we want the sheets to be removed from the bed and put in a plastic bag.

The residence is located next to the nature reserve Hågadalen/Nusten close to Kvarnbo mill. In the area, the artist Bruno Liljefors also resided when he was active (around the turn of the century 1900).
It is adjacent to road 55 (but not disturbingly close) and is 6 kilometers from E4.
On 30 miunutes by car, you can get to Arlanda Airport.
If you want to experience Stockholm with its offerings, it is about a 1-hour drive south out.

Uppsala offers an active student life with a diligent university.

Several elite sports clubs are based in the city. For example, Sirius in football football football as well as Storvreta in the floorball's highest series.

Uppsala has a popular cultural life with both art museum, theatre and Uppsala Castle.
The city is also a place of deep history in religious Sweden, with everything from the traveling cathedral, the quiet mystical Viking tombs.

Uppsala also has a nice bathhouse, Fyrishov, with adventure baths, and several pools both inside and outside.
In summer, there are also several baths within easy reach by car. Feel free to ask us where.

The space
Just 16 km south-west from down town Uppsala, in the old farming areas called Dalby, you find our cozy cottage. The small house is located across the garden from our main house. You will have your own part of the garden with a small lawn, an outdoor seating area with a barbecue and parking space for two cars.

In the house, which has undergone a big renovation in 2021, there is a small kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms, a small workplace, toilet and a separate shower. The kitchen is equipped with most necessities. In the living room you find a couch, table and TV.

The smaller bedroom downstairs has an expandable queen size (160 cm) bed and the master bedroom upstairs has a queen size bed and room for a crib (available for free on demand). If necessary there is the possibility to use up to two extra beds (foldable) (maximum 5 guests).

Just outside the house you find the outdoor seating area, with a table and chairs and a Weber kettle charcoal grill. The patio is framed by hedges and has wonderful evening sun in the summertime.

Our garden is part of an old farm, filled with old apple trees and surrounded by fields. Here you feel really close to nature and in the mornings and evenings the silence is peaceful. If you´re lucky you might spot the occasional roe deer feeding on some apples in the garden at night or maybe some of the pheasants or hares passing through the garden.

Just across the valley, about 1 km from the house, you have the Hammarskog nature preservation area where you can find lots of walking trails, an outdoor gym, a small beach and row boats for rent. In the wintertime you can take a skate on lake Ekoln and if there is enough snow there are cross country skiing trails in Hammarskog.
