Cabin In the Woods is an antique cypress shotgun home and over 100+ years old. It has been carefully renovated with tears of love & craftsmanship by the artist/owner. Interior decor features original artwork by the owner. Great back porch view with swing to relax and enjoy the solitude of the outdoors.
Guests have full access to the Cabin In the Woods and to the surrounding property. The yard is open. Small children and pets will need to be supervised to insure their safety. The back porch is fenced in and has a toddler/pet gate availiable as a confined area.

A wood stove accents the main living area and is fully functional (wood provided by owner).
The hot water is always left on in the cabin. In cold weather cabin will be preheated for your comfort but there is kindling & wood if you want to make a fire in the wood stove. WIFI
Cabin is 10 minutes from historic downtown St Francisville and has creek access on the property. The cabin is centrally located within easy access to plantation homes, Cat Island Nature Preserve, Tunica Falls & the Audubon Pilgrimage March18-20.

Although there is a house next-door and an airstream that looked like a residence, you still got the feeling of wooded privacy, especially on the back porch which was the perfect spot for morning, coffee, and an evening glass of wine. Both the kitchen and bathroom are small, but we did not do any cooking, and also spent most of the day away from the property so this was not an issue for us. The property is not luxurious, but rather has a cabin in the woods feel, which is what we were looking for. We definitely recommend this property and hope to make our trip an annual visit."

This fully renovated, private cabin on Lower Grand River in Bayou Pigeon, approximately 40 miles south of Baton Rouge, features 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a screened porch and an open floor plan living area. Fish right off the dock in the backyard, clean your catch and cook a fresh meal on the grill for the whole family to enjoy. A short drive to several south Louisiana landmarks, including Nottoway Plantation, Belle River, the “smallest Catholic Church in the world, ” the Wedell-Williams Aviation and Cypress Sawmill Museum, restaurants and more.

- "Was in Louisiana to move my daughter into her dorm at LSU. We have regularly stayed between Baton Rouge and New Orleans over the past 16 months, 3 trips, so we could visit LSU and Bourbon St with about the same travel distance. It was my goal to make it to Pierre Part to see if I could get a glimpse of Troy Landry, king of the swamp. When I spoke to Rick I found out that his family was related, what was the chances of that! Rick was extremely hospitable and the property was everything that it was posted to be. Rick went out of his way to help me with anything that I had questions on in the area even though he was on vacation somewhere himself. Property was awesome. My son fished on the dock, alligators swam by and boaters were very nice as well waving and wishing us a good day. The "camp" is very nice on the inside and with it being 100+ degrees daily I was worried being a "camp" how warm it would end up being. That house was so comfortable and with the back screened porch having two fans it provided my wife a place to work on the computer while we stayed cool and watch T.V. We hope to be back over the course of my daughters stay at LSU and the Phillips camp is definitely on our list of places to return to."

The Cabin is a cozy getaway located on a 4.5 acre lot in a quiet neighborhood. It's only 10 minutes away from the Baton Rouge Airport and Walmart. Downtown Baton Rouge and LSU are about 20 minutes away so if you’re planing to watch a game or enjoy the city it is a little bit of a drive.

There's also a simple walking trail that goes to an over view of the Comite River. It takes 5 or 10 minutes to walk and can be challenging for small children
but will be enjoyable for out door lovers.

When renting the cabin you will have access to every thing seen in the pictures which is the entire second and third floors of the house. There is one bedroom on the third floor that is not in the pictures that contains my personal belongings and will remain locked during your stay.

The first floor is where me and my wife will be staying during your visit, it is completely separate from the second and third floors of the house. It also has a separate bathroom and kitchen of its own so we will not be sharing any of the same spaces with you.

NO PARTIES!!!!! If you have a party on the property during your stay you will loose your security deposit!
