Shopping and restaurants are close by as well as activities in new roads . TV in living room to watch movies. Kitchen has dishes, coffee pot, pots to cook , microwave and dishwasher . BBQ pit outside also. This is my fishing camp , not the Waldorf Historian , It was built around 1979 . It has been well maintained and we keep it clean for us and our guest . Garfield Cottage is located in the Nicholson Corridor neighborhood of old south Baton Rouge, less than half a mile from LSU campus through an historic oak tree-shaded neighborhood. Mature live oak trees drape over the home and streets to create a beautiful and shady space.

Garfield Cottage is located about a quarter of a mile from BREC’s Magnolia Mound Colonial House and museum, close in proximity to downtown Baton Rouge with the Canes River Center, old and new state capital museums, Children’s Arts and Science museum and Planetarium, downtown nightlife and restaurants, and the beautiful levee walk. Garfield Cottage is an older home- built around 100 years ago- and maintains much of its original charm: high ceilings, original hardwood floors, and raised pier foundation; it may not be suitable for children 2 and under and is not childproof. Having said that, Garfield Cottage boasts many modern features you've come to expect: central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans in every room, a king and queen size bed with a new and comfortable mattresses and cozy bedding, a full size and fully functional kitchen, along with clothes washer and dryer machines. There are extra blankets and pillows available plus box fans for cooling and white noise. The patio is pleasant for gathering- the table seats 6+ and there is an umbrella to block the mid day sun. From outside, you can hear the campanile ring the hours and when in season, you can hear the sounds of the famed Golden Band from Tigerland practicing for halftime shows!

They were as accommodating as they could be the day of LSU graduation, and put me in a two bedroom condo. It wasn’t ideal as we were a party of 5, but we made it work. The new condo was very nice, very clean and well stocked. The owner followed up to make sure we got into the property without problems, and she was very easy to reach. - "This property needs to be removed from the site. This is located in the one of the worst neighborhoods in Baton Rouge. It is unsafe for people coming in from out of town to stay at. We didn’t even stop as we drove through the neighborhood. I’m not even kidding. Our mapping app said “Arrived at your destination” as I was still in the gas. This “host” is misrepresenting his property. Bottom line. We were lucky enough to be able to get a hotel at the last minute, which I seriously didn’t think we’d be able to do on a game Day weekend. I asked for a refund of my cleaning fee since we didn’t even open the doors. Whatever this guys name is said “Nope” refer to the policy. Whatever. This is a scam. Good luck with your life if you choose to put it in his hands. I’ll be rethinking VRBO in the future."

Our home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an office space for remote work and a fully stocked kitchen. The open concept living, dining and kitchen areas are perfect for entertaining or catching up with friends and family. The house features a whole-home dehumidifier (installed February 2022) that keeps the house cool and dry during the muggy South Louisiana summers. For winter, the main bathroom has heated tile flooring for your comfort. We have two 110v plugs for level 1 EV charging. Enjoy time outside on the front or back patios, each with ample seating.
