Come chill in the sitting pool!! This private house has one private bedroom and a living room. There is a nice size kitchen , with a cozy gas fireplace. the living room has a couch but it is not a fold-out. The bedroom opens on to a gorgeous courtyard with a sitting pool. All new renovation , but old world charm remains. It is in a great location .. Within walking distance to the Marigny, Bywater and the French Quarter. Your safety is our primary concern. Our property is totally gated and is in one of the nicest residential areas in New Orleans. We comply with all of the requirements and restrictions set by the Short Term Rental Administration of the City. Owner license number 20-RSTR-00355. Operator license number 23-0STR-01882. We have also been approved as a Healthy Home by the City of New Orleans. We have no contact check in and keyless entry. We also set aside a full day between guest to allow for deep cleaning.

The cottage is located behind our Vieux Carre style home. Upon your arrival you can relax and plan your New Orleans visit in your cozy cottage and private patio. Enjoy a welcome wine basket with local delicacies.

The Cottage is located in one of the nicest residential sections of New Orleans. It is a quiet neighborhood away from the crowds and noise. We are very convenient to our 1300 acre City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Arts, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden and the New New Orleans Municipal Bayou Oaks Course with two 18 hole golf courses. You are centrally located to the best of the City within walking distance to Lake Pontchartrain and an inexpensive Uber ride or public transportation to the French Quarter..

Coffee shops, wine bars, Seafood, Mexican, Asian and Creole restaurants are very close; or, relax and barbecue on your private deck.There are a total of 32 restaurants, two local supermarkets and four banks within a mile radius of our home.

The Historic Bywater neighborhood is an artsy area with easy access to the Quarter, Frenchman St, Crescent Park, cafes, restaurants, grocery, park, and bars all within walking distance.

We are 1.4 miles to the French Quarter ( 15 -20-minute walk), but still far enough to not have the noise, expensive parking and activity of the French Quarter.

The cottage is sunny, classic New Orleans shotgun cottage with modern updates in a wonderful, walkable and friendly neighborhood ten blocks from Audubon Park and the Zoo and River.

Hardwood floors and high ceilings hold ceiling fans and a comfortable couch and chair lends to lounging. The open full kitchen with new appliances and a large oak dining table is a comfortable place to share a meal, play a game, or decorate your Mardi Gras throws. Lovely light and eleven foot ceilings and ceiling fans will make you feel at home.

The bedroom has simple Art Deco furniture and high thread count sheets and bedding. The bedroom leads to the bathroom with claw foot tub for soaking your dancing feet and dreaming as well as a shower.

The back door opens to the screened porch, my favorite room in the house, perfect for sipping your cocktail under the swirling ceiling fan. The brick patio could be your next crawfish boil site with a comfy table and chairs for those beautiful languid evenings. The small house in the back has a full-sized washer/dryer.

Sauter around uptown New Orleans with fabulous food within walking distance in all directions, including the best poboys in town. St. Charles Avenue, Audubon Park and the Mississippi River all within ten blocks of the cottage.

If you’re visiting during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Essence, Southern Decadence or other festivals or holidays Lyft/Uber surcharges can double/triple prices. Thank goodness the rental is walking distance to so much!

Home is kept at a comfortable 65-75 degrees F, year round. AC is controlled remotely by host, AC remote access for guests on request. Guests are asked to contact the host directly should the space become colder than 65 degrees F or warmer than 75 degrees F and adjustments will be made immediately for your comfort.

We’re animal lovers & allow one small to medium sized non barking dog only for a minimal fee. Please keep in mind the studio space is located downtown, where homes are very close to each other. We unfortunately cannot allow a large or barking dog.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean comfortable home. It’s located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood with plenty of great cafés, coffee shops and taverns nearby. A short walk took us to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. It was a great jumping off spot for exploring all that New Orleans has to offer. We had a car and had no problem parking in front of the house each night. It was so nice to relax and unwind in the living room or in the courtyard after a day of exploring. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked for those days you’d rather cook in than go out. Jan was easily accessible and responded immediately to resolve an issue I was having. I will definitely stay here again if it’s available next time I’m in New Orleans."

Completely renovated in 2022, this charming 475 SF cottage offers one bedroom, one bathroom, living room/kitchen combo, queen bed, large closet, ceiling fans, two window unit air conditioners, apartment sized fridge, new dishwasher, electric stove/oven, farm sink, Keurig, garbage disposal, and all the kitchen & bath essentials. The cottage is decorated with locally made wallpaper, local and original art, antique pottery, and Turkish rugs. Outside is a 400 SF Patio with ample outdoor seating and outdoor fans that opens up to the owner's backyard. During your stay the patio will be all yours to enjoy. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and very walkable. We have one super friendly big white dog on premises and we are always mindful of guests when letting her out into the yard. The apartment is a total of 3 nice sized rooms and a closet. A door separates the living room/kitchen from the bedroom. The cottage is equipped with an indoor TV, it’s own dedicated internet and an outdoor TV, all equipped with a fire stick and several streaming apps for your use. The exterior of the cottage is equipped with a secure gate with code access and lots of lighting.

The cottage is just two miles to the French Quarter down beautiful Esplanade Avenue. Rent one of the BCBS Blue Bikes for $2 at the end of Ponce De Leon Street and bike to the quarter! Our cottage is also a one block walk to the famous Liuzza's By the Track and just a few blocks to several other local watering holes. City Park, one of America's most beautiful public parks, is located within walking distance, just a half mile away. On your way to the park stop by the most popular cemetery in town - St. Louis Cemetery #3. There are also multiple bus stops and street car stops within walking distance of the cottage.

The 80 yr old Creole Cottage is sooo New Awlins located In historic Treme and a 6 minute walking distance to the French quarter. Stroll down the st through Treme & walk by Louis Armstrong park and Congo square into the FQ. This historical home is in the neighborhood with famous restaurants and the Zulu parade route. Stand on the porch and catch the Mardi Gras Indians pass on the street. The home is newly renovated but we keep some things original to protect the historical value. U will ❤️ it.

The space
The cottage is a raised 1800's double shotgun style, a traditional style of New Orleans architecture, which was converted into a single family home in the 1990's. When you arrive you will enter from your off-street parking space located on the side of house through a lovely garden into your private entrance. The beautiful light filled bedroom is surrounded by the garden with views from each window. The comfy Queen bed is dressed with fine linens, light filtering shades and also room darkening curtains make for a peaceful environment. A marble bistro table and mid-century modern style chairs are provided for computer work or sitting with a cup of coffee. The private bathroom is adjacent to the room with a large white subway tiled shower/tub and wood floors. Towels and amenities are provided. For personal laundry there is a laundromat near by on Maple St. A console is provided with mini fridge for drinks and snacks, a tea/coffee maker, microwave and plates, bowls and silverware. Enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset in the garden before you head out to enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer!

Sandra, a native of New Orleans, is an established photographer and Evert an accomplished abstract painter and a transplant from the Netherlands. We share a passion for art, architecture, travel and above all New Orleans music and culture. We are available when needed to answer any questions about recommendations for restaurants, music venues, tours, getting around, etc.

We just finished a spectacular renovation of our carriage house. Constructed in 1859 by Captain Thomas Leathers, owner of the Natchez steamships, this converted stable boasts 2 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths. Located only one block from St. Charles Ave and the historic streetcar, the property is in the Garden District , yet only blocks from the French Quarter.

The space
This carriage house was once the stable for a home listed on the National Historic Register. The carriage house and main house are located within a walled compound in the Garden District area of New Orleans.
