We will definitely be back, but we might choose to stay in one of the smaller studio units because we didn’t love the fact that the one bedroom units had a conjoining door but it would be helpful if we came back with family or another couple. It is perfectly suited for business travel or simply slipping away for a personal escape. Located near multiple fishing outlets, state parks, cruise ships, shops, restaurants, waterfront, USS Alabama, and Gulf Coast Beaches. Our cottage offers a full kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 bath, and 1 sleeper sofa. 35 minutes from the Gulf Coast white sandy beaches.

1. Chicken/duck coop - We would love to let you visit, but for the safety of the birds it will have to be supervised to go beyond the fence line
2. Honeybees are off limits due to safety concerns. Guests are asked to stay at least 30 feet from the hives.

Natural lighting and a peaceful environment make this a great home away from home. I have a big fenced in backyard with mostly privacy fencing and a large dog door for free roaming about. You can enjoy a drink or dinner under my shaded area or relax in the swing listening to the birds.
My home is centrally located and close to University of South Alabama and Springhill University, with only about a 15 minute drive to downtown, or the Mobile Regional Airport.

You will have access to most of the house minus my bedroom.
This quiet, friendly neighborhood is good for walking, biking, dog walking, jogging, all under the shade of our beautiful Oak trees. There is a neighborhood park, pickle ball courts and a walking track around the whole thing! We also have a convenient neighborhood store called the Food Pak with a little deli and anything you need, and some restaurants within walking distance. Grocery stores and other choices for food are about a mile away or so.
I have a large fenced in backyard, sitting area under the carport and a dog door for your fur babies. I also have an extra crate in my living room.
Fees will be applied for any damage.
Extra fees will be applied for more than two people, and you must provide bed linens or anything else needed for their comfort.

You are free to roam about the property, but please do not open any gates or doors without speaking with the hosts first, and we’ll be happy to look you up with a chicken hangout date. Please refrain from entering the main house.

Wellness at The Queendom:

The code for the wellness center is the same as your door code. Feel free to use it from 8am until 8pm, but if you have a desire to use it during the off hours, please send a message to see if it’s available. The wellness center entrance is located across from the carport and is attached to the main house. You’ll see white double doors with a keypad door lock.

Please do not use the sound bath or Shibari/rope items, as that is the Goddess’s personal and professional equipment. Photos and video are permitted.

If you would like to schedule a sound bath, guided meditation, or Shibari session, there is a booking calendar with availability upon request.

The space
What makes this property special. The answers are; location, beds(king size), TV area and, the owners do not live on or adjacent to the property .
Firstly, I would say around 80% of BnB rentals have the owners who live on the property or right next to it. We are neither. You dont have to feel like you are being watched over.
Second, Location! The cottage is just minutes from Downtown Fairhope and the Grand Hotel, but you feel like you are in the country. If you are up for a beach vacation, the Gulf is only 44min. The property has a big backyard and large privacy fences on both sides. Behind the cottage is a horse field.
I love a good TV watching area! The cottage has this. Nice couch, Dish Network, and enough seating for the family. Most rentals have TV mounted high up on the wall. Not here. The TV is mounted on the wall at eye level, so you are to straining your neck just to watch TV. After a long day of playing, it nice to come back and watch a good show or movie. If you are up for using your streaming accounts, the wifi is very fast!

And Lastly, an important part of the BnB experience is the beds. The cottage has king size beds in two of the rooms, and they are very comfortable. The TV king bedrooms have Dish Network.

After that long day of playing hard, if you dont want to go out to eat, the kitchen has everything you need. All of the essentials. Even a gas range.

New washer and gas dryer recently added (Oct 2022). This comes in handy for our long term guests.

Are you in town for a wedding or event and have 5 people needing a shower to get ready? The cottage has a new oversized gas water heater to provide plenty of hot water(cold showers are the worst).



Lets just get this out of the way..cleanliness. This is what is on everyones mind, with good reason. We have high expectations on ourselves to provide our guests a clean place to stay. We do our best to have the place spotless.

The cottage has a covered putting green, a pictionary game with dry erase board, bocce ball, cornhole, croquet, and some kids board games...all great for keeping the kids occupied.

The cottage was built in the early 80's. It is nestled in a neighborhood of grand estates and small modest residences. Some things have been reonvated, like the ceilings and kitchen counters and some things are from the original build, like the floors.

Fine dinning restaurant, Char 32, is within walking distance across the street in the Point Clear Tennis Club.

Brand new Publix grocery store is less than five minutes away. No stop lights on the way to Publix.

Listing Picture disclosure: South side neighbors are putting up a privacy fence. Its nice because the backyard will have full privacy, but we will not longer to be able to view their horses.

You have the whole place the whole place to yourself. I would say the majority of listings in this area are people who either live on the same property or adjacent. We are neither.
Because we respect your privacy, we do not have any video surveillance cameras on the property.

Smoking is not allowed inside. Smoking inside will result in a $350 smoking fee. You are welcome to smoke on the outside deck.
There is a putting green to have fun with, but for safety reasons, we ask guests not to chip golf balls in the backyard.
The neighbor's horses are really great to look at. The neighbor has asked that we not feed the horses because of their special diet.

On Dauphin Island you have Pirates Bar and Grill with poolside bar and snack bar, Pirates Pizza, Islanders Seafood, the Pelican Pub Bar, Dority's Bar, Island Rainbow Pizza and Ice Cream, the Lighthouse Bakery and more!

Attractions include Bellingrath Gardens, Audubon Bird Park and Nature Trail, the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Aquarium and Estuary, Fort Gaines, a Ferry that can take you to Ft. Morgan, the Ft. Morgan Marina, Tacky Jacks restaurant and Bar as well as Gulf Shores beaches, Cedar Pointe fishing pier, putt putt golf, a skate park and playground, bike rentals and bike trails. You will have great waterfront views from almost every angle of the house! The waterfront is not accessible for swimming or fishing because we don’t have a pier but there are several places just a few miles away to swim, fish and go to the beach! There is plenty of parking here for your boat and trailer and a boat launch nearby! This newly renovated 2 bdrm 1 bath cottage is on Tensaw Island. The island is a private gated community. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax on the screened in porch or large platform deck. This is the perfect place if you love to kayak, fish or just want to spend the day on the Tensaw river or hangout on Gravine Island. With just being an hour drive from Gulf Shores/Orange Beach there are endless possibilities for recreation, food, and entertainment.

Each Bedroom has a queen bed. One bedroom has an additional bunk bed to allow sleeping for up to 6 guests. The kitchen has all the amenities of home including a coffeemaker. There is a table that sits 4 comfortably, and additional seating on the screened in porch. The main living area is spacious. The bathroom has a large vanity and a walk in shower. The screened in porch overlooks the large ground level deck and dock. The dock is perfect to tie up your boat, and there is a private boat launch for residents and guests on the island.

Other things to note
Before booking it is important to note that during the Spring months of March and April there is a possibility that areas on the island are under water requiring vehicles to be driven on submerged roads, and a possibility of water to be standing under the cottage. I am a local host and can give updates on conditions.
There is a firepit that can be used, firewood is not supplied, ideal wood length is approx. 12"
There is a Smart TV, and Starlink Internet for Wi-Fi, so you can sign on to your Netflix or other streaming services.
There is no room for RV parking. This is not a campground.
If you plan on using the outside deck space, it is a good idea to bring bug spray, etc.
If you plan on bringing a boat, there is a private launch for residents and guests on the island. The launch is on the Tensaw river conveniently down the road from the cottage. Understand that the channel in front of the cottage (Hurricane Bayou) is only 4'-5' deep and is effected by the tide. Tow vehicles / trailers will need to be parked at the cottage.

As you walk down the steps of the cottage, you will find a fully equipped gas grill to enjoy outdoor dining, outdoor seating and outdoor enclosed shower.

If you would like to bring a small boat or jet ski to tie up to the fishing platform, there is a public launch about 2 miles north of the cottage at Mullet Point or south of the cottage at Pelican Point.
50 ft fishing pier and platform right outside of the cottage. Crab traps and fishing rods available at the cottage. Swimming, Fishing and crabbing is permitted and encouraged!
