The Cottage is close to Oldtown Fairhope, which has excellent dining, shopping, and antique shops. It's about 40 minutes to the resort towns of Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a bicycle trail that goes from our cottage past the Punta Clara Candy Kitchen, the Wash House Restaurant, and the Grand Hotel and ending in Fairhope. You can schedule eco tours at the Weeks Bay Nature Center and visit Bon Secure Bay.

The quiet and serene cottage is 4 miles from the famous and historic Grand Hotel with fine dining, tennis courts, and a beautiful golf course. Check in was simple and the requests for check out were very very reasonable. We're hoping to spend some time in the area again for a less stressful reason. You can use the provided kayaks to explore around the home's surrounding no wake zone, or swim or float to the sandbar right off the dock to spend the day in the water relaxing with your family. You can also feed the friendly bream in the on-site pond. Bring your own gear to fish right off the dock using the installed rod holders. The waters around the house boast bass, bream, catfish, stripers, mullet and more. Spend the morning on the swing under the gazebo and watch the herons fish in the pond and the mullet jump. We describe our home as a rustic "no frills" fish camp, yet you will have everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay. The living room will comfortably fit a family for movie night. The first bedroom has a spacious king bed, while the second larger bedroom can comfortably sleep 4 with a queen and twin daybed with trundle. This second bedroom is a great hang out space for the kids with another small couch and TV set up. The home is toddler friendly, there is a pack and play and high chair available for use. We also supply child safety features including door knob covers, outlet protectors and a cabinet lock for under the kitchen sink. There is ample storage in the bathroom. Laundry is available in the garage where you will also find for your use during your stay: 2 kayaks with paddles, a wide range of life jackets, outdoor games, fishing poles and more.

Our property truly feels "away from it all" but you are still only 15 minutes to quaint downtown Fairhope and about 30 minutes to the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores. We hope you choose to spend your time at "Reel Good Time.”

• We do allow dogs under 25 pounds for an additional fee.
• Please note at this time the upper deck of the boat dock is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
• There is no dish washer in the kitchen.
• For security reasons we have two cameras outside, one facing the street and driveway entrance and one facing the waterfront.
• To note, both bedrooms contain exterior doors. We have included multiple locks and safety features to help prevent unwanted exits, you may choose to use which features you wish during your stay.
• As this is a waterfront home, dealing with bugs is an unavoidable way of life. We can not guarantee you will not see a single bug inside during your stay. We have routine, scheduled pest control to keep bug friends to a minimum.

- "This place was great, it’s fairly new and everything is very nice! We didn’t hardly drive at all because it’s so close to the main downtown area that we just walked everywhere. We will definitely be back, but we might choose to stay in one of the smaller studio units because we didn’t love the fact that the one bedroom units had a conjoining door but it would be helpful if we came back with family or another couple. The managers were also very responsive and easy to get ahold of. Note: the address is slightly off on VRBO so you may have to reach out to the owner and ask for the correct address "

Great location to enjoy all that Fairhope has to offer: Take walks (or ask to rent our Golf cart) to the Fairhope Pier to catch amazing sunsets and to downtown Fairhope-restaurants, shopping, and parks; or head the other direction to the popular Gambinos Restaurant! We are just a couple minute drive from The Grand Hotel and Golf Course; a 30 minute drive to Foley where you can stop in Bagel Boy to order a delicious bagel sandwich, or catch a roll and dinner at the famous Lamberts, and browse Tanger Outlets; keep heading south a bit and run into Gulf Shores Public Beach!
Pop’s Country House by the Bay is nestled on a quiet street one block off the Bay. It features a King bed in the first bdrm, two twins in the second bdrm (also a trundle that can add another twin if needed) and a full-size pull-out sofa in the living room. Washer and dryer in the hall bathroom. Small pets are welcome, however the yard is only partially fenced. Enjoy the bay breeze from the back deck! The property is in a rural area. You can enjoy the peace and serenity here in our tiny house. Enjoy relaxing under the water fall in the pool. It's a 25-minute drive to the beaches of Gulf Shores Alabama. Far enough away from the crowds, yet close enough to the beaches to have fun.

However, what’s not stated is you are to share it with another property across the pool. It is very clean, but the accommodation is a shad. The kind that people use for office. The space between the bed and bathroom is approximately a foot or less. Loft areas have mattress each on the floor. No more, no less. The stair to the loft area is really narrow. If you are not petit, you won’t be able to fit through the openings, and stairs are so steep, little children or adults might not be able to go up. There is a big smart TV, it is not connected to cable or internet. It has nice, professional grade blender. Very impressive. There are 2 tiny ice trays. Good luck making any large quantity of frozen drinks or smoothie. It takes good 45 minutes to the beach by a car. I won’t be back there just for the distance and price for the accommodation. You can find a better property slightly higher price with better location and amenities."

Nina's Cottage is a quaint farmhouse that my Czech grandmother lived in when they came to Alabama in the 1920's to farm. It has a country feel with a big front porch and lots of comfortable living. This unique farmhouse is a throw-back to an earlier time. The house has recently undergone an extensive renovation. New drywall, updated cabinets, new windows and doors and so much more.

Enjoy access to boat launch at the end of the street, as well as 2 others within a few miles. There is also a bait and tackle shop 4 miles away.

Kate's Cottage provides a master bedroom with a queen size bed, large dresser, TV, large closet and private bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds, dresser, TV and closet. Both have extra pillows and blankets for your comfort. The entire house has been remodeled with stainless steel appliances, wood flooring, new deck, gas grill and table for outside dining. Spacious family room with adjoining dining room and kitchen, and second large bathroom just down the hall. We are located in quiet country setting on Waterhole Branch, just off of Fish River. There is plenty of parking space. We have provided menus from local restaurants as well as information for local events.

The space
What makes this property special. The answers are; location, beds(king size), TV area and, the owners do not live on or adjacent to the property .
Firstly, I would say around 80% of BnB rentals have the owners who live on the property or right next to it. We are neither. You dont have to feel like you are being watched over.
Second, Location! The cottage is just minutes from Downtown Fairhope and the Grand Hotel, but you feel like you are in the country. If you are up for a beach vacation, the Gulf is only 44min. The property has a big backyard and large privacy fences on both sides. Behind the cottage is a horse field.
I love a good TV watching area! The cottage has this. Nice couch, Dish Network, and enough seating for the family. Most rentals have TV mounted high up on the wall. Not here. The TV is mounted on the wall at eye level, so you are to straining your neck just to watch TV. After a long day of playing, it nice to come back and watch a good show or movie. If you are up for using your streaming accounts, the wifi is very fast!

And Lastly, an important part of the BnB experience is the beds. The cottage has king size beds in two of the rooms, and they are very comfortable. The TV king bedrooms have Dish Network.

After that long day of playing hard, if you dont want to go out to eat, the kitchen has everything you need. All of the essentials. Even a gas range.

New washer and gas dryer recently added (Oct 2022). This comes in handy for our long term guests.

Are you in town for a wedding or event and have 5 people needing a shower to get ready? The cottage has a new oversized gas water heater to provide plenty of hot water(cold showers are the worst).



Lets just get this out of the way..cleanliness. This is what is on everyones mind, with good reason. We have high expectations on ourselves to provide our guests a clean place to stay. We do our best to have the place spotless.

The cottage was built in the early 80's. It is nestled in a neighborhood of grand estates and small modest residences. Some things have been reonvated, like the ceilings and kitchen counters and some things are from the original build, like the floors.

Fine dinning restaurant, Char 32, is within walking distance across the street in the Point Clear Tennis Club.

Brand new Publix grocery store is less than five minutes away. No stop lights on the way to Publix.

Listing Picture disclosure: South side neighbors are putting up a privacy fence. Its nice because the backyard will have full privacy, but we will not longer to be able to view their horses.

Smoking is not allowed inside. Smoking inside will result in a $350 smoking fee. You are welcome to smoke on the outside deck.
There is a putting green to have fun with, but for safety reasons, we ask guests not to chip golf balls in the backyard.
The neighbor's horses are really great to look at. The neighbor has asked that we not feed the horses because of their special diet.

Palmetto Cottage is a quintessential Fairhope cottage located close to downtown Fairhope. This nearly 100 year old house has been fully renovated and filled with charm and character. Named one of Southern Living's best small towns, Fairhope has plentiful shopping, great restaurants and fun night life. The Fairhope pier is a short distance away where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets over Mobile Bay or stroll along the beach.

The space
Enjoy all that Fairhope has to offer from this cozy cottage that is just a short walk to downtown Fairhope. The cottage has a full kitchen with Keurig coffee maker and microwave, washer and dryer and a cute covered porch on which to relax. There are two bedrooms, one queen and one full bed, and shared hall bath with large shower (no tub). We provide an initial supply of coffee, creamer, sugar, toiletries and laundry detergent for few days. Folding beach chairs and beach towels are available for guest use.

Please know that since this cottage is almost a 100 years old it has small hallways and doors.

Palmetto Carriage House, which is a separate rental located behind Palmetto Cottage on the same property, is an open concept studio apartment with a king size bed, living room, full bath and efficiency kitchen. The Carriage House is a separate rental and not available to use unless a separate rental is booked.


We are taking extra precautions to clean and disinfect after every guest. We leave 24 hours between guests to make sure the condo is properly cleaned.

This historic cozy cottage is nestled in the heart of Fairhope's "Fruit & Nut" district, just a short walk away from both Mobile Bay and downtown Fairhope. Built circa 1910, it once served as a boarding house for teachers of the famous Organic School founded by Marietta Johnson. The home has been almost completely renovated and features a large 1,100 sq. ft. wrap-around porch with 3 seating areas & outdoor TV, 2 porcelain clawfoot bathtubs, beaded board interior, and original hardwood floors.

I'm not aware of any historic home in the Fruit & Nut district that has a larger porch (12 ft. deep in the front) to hang out on and relax. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Belle Vue Retreat is perfect for family and friends looking for a bay-cation for a long weekend or a week + long getaway! There's plenty of room for spacious living outside AND inside with a family room area and a beautiful all- window sun room looking over the bay.

The kitchen has white quartz counters with a large working island space. Lots of room for more than one chef in this kitchen! The bar area has seating for four while the dining table also has seating for four. We include a Keurig Combo coffee station with Kcups, coffee grounds, creamers and sugars. The kitchen also has chefs knives, blender, toaster, microwave and plenty of baking and cooking supplies for the families that enjoy cooking together.

All bedrooms include hotel quality beds, mattresses and luxury linens. The Primary bedroom with a King size bed, luxury linens and private bath with shower. The other 2 bedrooms have Queen size beds with a jack and Jill bathroom and another full bath with shower. All bathrooms have luxury towels and hotel soaps and shampoo/conditioner.
The extra bed is a queen sleeper/sofa in the den area with linens provided.

Belle Vue Retreat's shining spot is the beautiful Sun Room right off the Primary bedroom. This panoramic, unobstructed view of the bay is absolutely breathtaking! Claiming your spot on the swinging chair to watch the sea gulls and pelicans will be your main objective if you have to share with family! If you're looking for an IG post, this is where you'll find it!

Technical Amenities: This cottage has a designated work station, hi speed WiFi, Alexa bluetooth speaker, Smart Tv's with streaming AND local channels

Outside Amenities:
As you walk down the back steps of the cottage, you will find a fully equipped gas grill with propane provided. Outside lounge chairs are provided to enjoy the scenery. For your outside entertainment, we provide a Corn Hole game stored in the storage area.

If you enjoy fishing and crabbing, you are welcome to bring your fishing tackle and try your casting skills at some of the best fishing in Mobile Bay! Crab traps provided!
If fishing isn't your thing, then wooden Adirondacks chairs are provided so you can soak up the sights and sounds of the Eastern Shore.

If you would like to bring a small boat or jet ski, a public lunch is about a mile north of the home at Mullet Point. The boat house is equipped with chairs, a sink, boat lift, and life jackets. There's also a swim ladder provided.
*Water is SHALLOW...NO DIVING!
