Cozy Krimmel Kottage on beautiful Mobile Bay is 45 minutes from Mobile, Alabama and one hour from Pensacola, Florida. It comfortably sits on Mobile Bay which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The Cottage is close to Oldtown Fairhope, which has excellent dining, shopping, and antique shops. It's about 40 minutes to the resort towns of Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a bicycle trail that goes from our cottage past the Punta Clara Candy Kitchen, the Wash House Restaurant, and the Grand Hotel and ending in Fairhope. You can schedule eco tours at the Weeks Bay Nature Center and visit Bon Secure Bay.

The quiet and serene cottage is 4 miles from the famous and historic Grand Hotel with fine dining, tennis courts, and a beautiful golf course. The kitchen and baths have been updated by adding all new fixtures and new energy efficient appliances. The original doors and casing have been preserved along with the window casings. The recommendations from the host in the guest book are fantastic and the Coffee Loft got to know us very well. The whole home is decorated beautifully and the showers/ tubs are spacious, which is a nice change for us. There are plenty of towels and other niceties that you don't think about until you don't have them. Communication with the host was very clear and made everything so much easier. Check in was simple and the requests for check out were very very reasonable. We're hoping to spend some time in the area again for a less stressful reason. You can use the provided kayaks to explore around the home's surrounding no wake zone, or swim or float to the sandbar right off the dock to spend the day in the water relaxing with your family. You can also feed the friendly bream in the on-site pond. Bring your own gear to fish right off the dock using the installed rod holders. The waters around the house boast bass, bream, catfish, stripers, mullet and more. Spend the morning on the swing under the gazebo and watch the herons fish in the pond and the mullet jump. We describe our home as a rustic "no frills" fish camp, yet you will have everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay. The living room will comfortably fit a family for movie night. The first bedroom has a spacious king bed, while the second larger bedroom can comfortably sleep 4 with a queen and twin daybed with trundle. This second bedroom is a great hang out space for the kids with another small couch and TV set up. The home is toddler friendly, there is a pack and play and high chair available for use. We also supply child safety features including door knob covers, outlet protectors and a cabinet lock for under the kitchen sink. There is ample storage in the bathroom. Laundry is available in the garage where you will also find for your use during your stay: 2 kayaks with paddles, a wide range of life jackets, outdoor games, fishing poles and more.

Our property truly feels "away from it all" but you are still only 15 minutes to quaint downtown Fairhope and about 30 minutes to the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores. We hope you choose to spend your time at "Reel Good Time.”

• We do allow dogs under 25 pounds for an additional fee.
• Please note at this time the upper deck of the boat dock is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
• There is no dish washer in the kitchen.
• For security reasons we have two cameras outside, one facing the street and driveway entrance and one facing the waterfront.
• To note, both bedrooms contain exterior doors. We have included multiple locks and safety features to help prevent unwanted exits, you may choose to use which features you wish during your stay.
• As this is a waterfront home, dealing with bugs is an unavoidable way of life. We can not guarantee you will not see a single bug inside during your stay. We have routine, scheduled pest control to keep bug friends to a minimum.

It was immaculately clean, well stocked, TONS of cabinets for storage, and we were literally one block from the start of the art show. It was very convenient to return for a quick rest as my daughter was 8 mos pregnant. We had an issue with the keyless entry and they responded immediately and were there in less than 5 minutes to open the door. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer or more convenient place to stay in Fairhope. Highly recommend!!"

- "This place was great, it’s fairly new and everything is very nice! We didn’t hardly drive at all because it’s so close to the main downtown area that we just walked everywhere. We will definitely be back, but we might choose to stay in one of the smaller studio units because we didn’t love the fact that the one bedroom units had a conjoining door but it would be helpful if we came back with family or another couple. The managers were also very responsive and easy to get ahold of. Note: the address is slightly off on VRBO so you may have to reach out to the owner and ask for the correct address "

Great location to enjoy all that Fairhope has to offer: Take walks (or ask to rent our Golf cart) to the Fairhope Pier to catch amazing sunsets and to downtown Fairhope-restaurants, shopping, and parks; or head the other direction to the popular Gambinos Restaurant! We are just a couple minute drive from The Grand Hotel and Golf Course; a 30 minute drive to Foley where you can stop in Bagel Boy to order a delicious bagel sandwich, or catch a roll and dinner at the famous Lamberts, and browse Tanger Outlets; keep heading south a bit and run into Gulf Shores Public Beach!
Pop’s Country House by the Bay is nestled on a quiet street one block off the Bay. It features a King bed in the first bdrm, two twins in the second bdrm (also a trundle that can add another twin if needed) and a full-size pull-out sofa in the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked, and there is a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience. Enjoy the enclosed eat-in front porch, and waive to the many friendly locals passing by. There is also a large back deck with a gas grill and charming fire table. The yard is fenced and the cement driveway provides a parking area.
