It was beautiful and had everything we could need. I have zero complaints. We went into Jefferson one day for lunch, explored the state park and kayaked for hours. - "An amazing stay that matched all the reviews and provided what we needed - an unplugged, remote and relaxing stay! Pitch black at night, shaded during the day. Hot tub outside is accessible via a fully paved pathway. External sound system speakers are high quality. Having the vinyl turntable and listening to classic records was relaxing, but also being able to stream your personal music to the system was a great touch. HOT HOT water available! (And that outdoor tub is a very neat feature!) Overall a near perfect stay. My only awareness I'd put out there for anyone, if this is important to them (and is not an overall negative of any way): internal tub is higher so can be an issue for shorties (like us), internal lights create heat and are of the dimmer type - romantic yes, but a little impractical to stay cool and/or see things clearly for older eyes, no desk/small table besides what is in the kitchen, bring favorite DVD's to watch, consider grocery shopping on the way in - Brookshire's is the only grocery in town and its a traditional smaller style store - so selection is limited compared to what we've grown accustomed to in large Wal-Mart towns."

Here at the Hideaway you have your own private porch with outdoor table and chairs. Plus 2 recliner chairs. Your private entrance has a security digital lock that you get the code sent to you the morning of your arrival. There is an outside grilling area that is available for cooking your meals. Along with the smoker/charcoal grill there is a 2 burner Coleman propane stove for cooking too. Inside there is a microwave and toaster. For entertainment there is a 32" TV (only local channels available) and DVD player with a small assortment of DVD's to watch. Several of the movies were made right here at Caddo Lake. The bathroom is rather large and spacious and there are plenty of extra towels in the bathroom cabinet. There are blackout curtains on the windows as well as blinds. There are several fishing rods and a tackle box with some lures and tackle for you to use while you are here. Even though it is attached to the main structure it is totally secluded with its own private porch and entrance and you will have no contact with anyone if that's your preference. Everything here at the Hideaway is all yours and nobody else is around on the property. Just total privacy for you and yours! But we are nearby and available anytime if needed. The cabin is great for 2 adults but can accommodate a max of 3 persons. We recommend a minimum age of 13 for all cabin guests. For more info on all we have to offer can be found on our website. Gated entry leads you down the meandering drive, over the creek, passing the pond and up to the 3,600 sq. ft. Satterwhite® Log home. This get-away is perfect for your family reunion. Six bedrooms will comfortably sleep 13. Downstairs we have 3 kings, 1 queen, and 1 full size bedroom. Upstairs has a huge game room with a private room at the far end with a queen and twin bunkbeds. The huge upstairs porch has lots of seating, as well as a patio table with chairs, and is entirely screened in so you don't have to worry about mosquitoes or bugs. The ground level decks are also very large with a level for lounging by the fire pit and a second deck below for fishing, swimming, and sunning. The cypress tree growing through the deck is unique. It is close to Caddo Lake State Park and also a few miles from Uncertain where we took a boat tour and there are also places to rent kayaks, fishing guides, etc. Checking in and out was seamless and the hosts were responsive and clear on their expectations. We will return if we are in the area again."

- "The Lidge is tucked away in ore City, TX. It is close to Barnwell z mountain Recreation Area. The cabin is homey and comfy and just the right size for our group. We stay here whenever we go off-roading in the area. We are able to buy farm fresh eggs based on availability. There is a pond that is beautiful. The master bed is super comfy! The host is always so welcoming and just really “good people”. We highly recommend this hidden gem if looking for a place in the area. They also have a program supporting Veterans!"

*NEW* Paddlewhacks is a group of 5 cabins nestled along the Big Cypress Bayou towards Caddo Lake. We are right on the water yet a one minute drive into Downtown Jefferson. It is the best of both worlds-unique shopping and restaurants with immediate access to canoeing and fishing. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, open concept living/dining areas, small kitchen, and a front patio. Every cabin comes with a canoe, paddles, life jackets, and access to our group firepit and private kayak ramp.

Paddlewhacks is located on 10 acres in Jefferson, Texas.
