Jefferson Tx. is the 5th oldest town in Texas. Jefferson is located right on the Big Cypress River. We are only three hours from Dallas Tx. We are one hour from Shreveport La. We are four hours from Houston Tx. Nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
Jefferson was founded in the early 1840's. Once a bustling River Port town, but now a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. Jefferson has something for everyone, wonderful selection of antique and eclectic shops. The dining selections are from very fancy to very funky, all yummy. Live music on the weekends at many places. Great Historic homes, some on tour and a Great Museum. Riverboat rides,Carriage Rides and Ghost Walks, call for times and dates.
We are about twelve miles to Caddo Lake and about 12 miles to Lake of the Pines.
Come stay for the weekend or for the week. Make our little cottage a home base for so many great things to do in this area.

- "Awesome" - "This small house had plenty of space. 2 bedrooms, one small bath with a tub/shower. Two large living spaces, a full size kitchen, and large outdoor area: 6 person patio table with umbrella, and another seating area with several chairs. There are stairs to enter the house. The location is just adjacent to the historic downtown location - you could walk everywhere if desired. The home had plenty of towels, sheets, kitchen dishes, glasses, cooking tools, etc. Our host had us set with coffee, creamer, and some snacks and fruit. Also plenty of local guides and brochures. It was very nice."

Pull into the driveway and you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking bayou view with a cypress forest across the way. Climb the front porch steps and enter the 2 bedroom/1 bathroom cottage. Make yourself at home in the spacious common area, with a fully-equipped kitchen and coffee bar, super-cozy living den with 55" TV, as well as a beautiful daybed with a panoramic view of the bayou. Step out onto the back porch and perch at one of the many outdoor seating spots while you watch the boats go by. Join one of the local boat tours to explore the bayou in all its glory. In the evening, gather your loved ones around the fire pit to trade s'mores and stories (and even songs if you’d like to take our cottage guitar for a strum). Settle into the hammock and let your mind relax as you stare out at the dozens of stars cresting the bayou tree line. When you're ready to turn in, you've got two comfortable bedrooms you can choose from, or you can drift off to dreamland in the daybed.

Please note that we do have (1) outdoor security camera facing the driveway and main road.

At this time we do not have a dock for swimming access to the river or a place to tie your boat, but you’ll be able to enjoy endless fishing right from your backyard overlooking the majestic bayou. There are also several nearby boat ramps to use, kayak rentals and boat tours in the area. You can even arrange for a private fishing guide or photography guide.
