Jefferson Tx. is the 5th oldest town in Texas. Jefferson is located right on the Big Cypress River. We are only three hours from Dallas Tx. We are one hour from Shreveport La. We are four hours from Houston Tx. Nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
Jefferson was founded in the early 1840's. Once a bustling River Port town, but now a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. Jefferson has something for everyone, wonderful selection of antique and eclectic shops. The dining selections are from very fancy to very funky, all yummy. Live music on the weekends at many places. Great Historic homes, some on tour and a Great Museum. Riverboat rides,Carriage Rides and Ghost Walks, call for times and dates.
We are about twelve miles to Caddo Lake and about 12 miles to Lake of the Pines.
Come stay for the weekend or for the week. Make our little cottage a home base for so many great things to do in this area.

- "Awesome" - "This small house had plenty of space. 2 bedrooms, one small bath with a tub/shower. Two large living spaces, a full size kitchen, and large outdoor area: 6 person patio table with umbrella, and another seating area with several chairs. There are stairs to enter the house. The location is just adjacent to the historic downtown location - you could walk everywhere if desired. The home had plenty of towels, sheets, kitchen dishes, glasses, cooking tools, etc. Our host had us set with coffee, creamer, and some snacks and fruit. Also plenty of local guides and brochures. It was very nice."

Pull into the driveway and you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking bayou view with a cypress forest across the way. Climb the front porch steps and enter the 2 bedroom/1 bathroom cottage. Make yourself at home in the spacious common area, with a fully-equipped kitchen and coffee bar, super-cozy living den with 55" TV, as well as a beautiful daybed with a panoramic view of the bayou. Step out onto the back porch and perch at one of the many outdoor seating spots while you watch the boats go by. Join one of the local boat tours to explore the bayou in all its glory. In the evening, gather your loved ones around the fire pit to trade s'mores and stories (and even songs if you’d like to take our cottage guitar for a strum). Settle into the hammock and let your mind relax as you stare out at the dozens of stars cresting the bayou tree line. When you're ready to turn in, you've got two comfortable bedrooms you can choose from, or you can drift off to dreamland in the daybed.

Please note that we do have (1) outdoor security camera facing the driveway and main road.

At this time we do not have a dock for swimming access to the river or a place to tie your boat, but you’ll be able to enjoy endless fishing right from your backyard overlooking the majestic bayou. There are also several nearby boat ramps to use, kayak rentals and boat tours in the area. You can even arrange for a private fishing guide or photography guide.

The property manager was very responsive on every attempt of contact and was very nice! This property is behind a house, but the landscaping makes it feel very secluded. The parking is just a few steps away in the parking lot of the funeral home, separated by a fence. You will be welcomed by a beautifully lit, flagstone paved walkway. Feel free to enjoy the fire pit or sit at the table by the serene pond.

This cottage is close to the middle of town. You will be within walking distance of downtown.
The cottage is across the street from the courthouse and sheriff's department, next to county detention facilities, and shares a parking lot with a funeral home. However, once you enter the enchanting yard and gorgeous cottage, you will feel a hundred miles away from it all!

Pet Policy:
We love dogs and understand that people who travel with their fur babies take great care. We welcome house trained, flea-free dogs. Please do not leave your dog in the house alone unless they are in a crate.
We do not allow cats. I am sorry for any inconvenience.
We have a $50 pet fee per dog. Please let us know what type of dog(s) you are traveling with.

The house is located in a neighborhood. There are houses closeby(about 50 ft away) on each side.

There are no leash regulations in the neighborhood and the neighborhood dogs roam freely. For the comfort of our guests and their pets, we are working on deterring the dogs from the front yard. The dogs are friendly but please do not feed or encourage them to stick around the property. There is a fenced backyard for the guests pets.

There is a circle driveway that allows for a few vehicles.

Inside fireplace is not for use.

- "This is a great family-friendly and pet-friendly property! The house is darling and had all the comforts of home. The boys loved fishing off the pier. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of trees, birds and butterflies. Clear, timely and cordial communications with the owners and co-host." - "This quaint property was just what we needed for the weekend. LaMoyne’s Place is within the historic district of Jefferson and an easy walk to local restaurants and shopping. LaMoyne’s is perfect for a couple, small family or girls getaway! This 1940s house has been meticulously updated inside and out! You will enjoy a living room with large smart tv and Netflix or login to your own apps. The kitchen is equipped with Big Chill appliances and enough dishes and cooking equipment for any meals you choose to make (but why would you?! It’s Jefferson with some of the best restaurants to enjoy!). There is a washer and dryer for your use in the twin bedroom. The outdoor patio includes a propane grill and gas firepit. Max of four people. Additional fee is for any guest over two guests that sleeps in a bed. No additional fee for infants who sleep in your pack n play type bed. House is available except for an owner’s closet in each bedroom. She-shed is off limits as is the garage. Park on any street on this corner lot. *Please note this property has stairs at all entrances and is not handicap accessible.

We have driven along I-20 many, many times between DFW and southeast LA to visit folks, but had never ventured far off the interstate. You will feel like you are in the country even though the guest house is located in a quiet neighborhood. (We do kindly ask for no loud parties to respect our neighbors.)

Please Note: We (the owners) live in the main house next door. You’ll have your own private space, but we’re nearby if you need anything during your stay. We do our best to keep things peaceful and respect your privacy, but please understand that from time to time you may hear normal household activity—like dogs barking or occasional yard work. We appreciate your understanding and aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

- "The property is very attractive and well maintained. The unit itself was clean, smelled nice, and the bed was comfy! We LOVED having a kitchen to enjoy a leisurely breakfast & visit the neighbor’s fluffy cat. Being able to open the blinds to watch the thunderstorms was wonderful! The owner was very nice and responsive to our needs. However, the high booking fee for what we received provided no value to us. We knew where we wanted to stay in Jefferson, having been there many times before, so there was no need for a booking agency to do the looking for us. There were differences between the management company’s online information and what we experienced staying in the unit, so that information needs to be updated. In addition, they could not answer questions about amenities in the house before we arrived, which required us to bring a number of items that we ultimately did not need. We were disappointed to learn that the damage waiver of seventy two dollars and the cleaning fee of fifty five dollars were non-refundable even as we left the unit clean and undamaged. Since they are non-refundable, we would recommend that these expenses be added to the daily rate for the rental, rather than give the customer a surcharge of two hundred seven dollars total, which constituted a roughly thirty percent increase above the regular room/tax rate. Thank you for your time and consideration!"

- "We really enjoyed our stay at the Art Deco Gilded Cottage on Speaks Street. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, and easily accessed with keyless entry. We had all the amenities of home (even a full size washer/dryer). There is a fire pit and sitting area for conversation/cocktails in the evenings. Nice quiet area. The Gilded Cottages are perfect for extended stays for Jefferson’s local events, such as the Civil War Re-enactment or biker rally’s. We were just minutes away from restaurants, antique shops, church’s, and the museum. We are looking forward to our next Gilded Cottage stay for the walking Ghost Tour."

We have a tiny home with one bedroom and bath. The sofa is a love seat and pulls out as a twin bed.

We love feeding animal crackers to the alpacas and donkey. They will let you touch them if they are in the mood. But still lots of fun to feed. We have 5 alpacas and one donkey. We have the animal crackers for you to feed with.

The space
Tiny house with front and back porch. The bathroom and bedroom is all open. There is a curtain for privacy. There is a door separating bedroom/bathroom and living area. 2 tv’s. We have Netflix on both tv’s

This is a small 2 room cottage. Only one king queen size. Children under 12 are free. The love seat is a pull out and is a twin size. We also have cots we can set up. But the space is small so is is a bit cramped.

Supervised feeding alpacas and donkey. Yes please schedule times to visit with alpacas and donkey.

We have trails but please ask before walking on trails. The trails are trails that are in our wooded area that our grandkids play, walk and run. They are not actually (walking) trails. So bring boots or covered toe shoes. (Sandals are not advised).

We also have a zip line. But is not for guest. This is for our personal use and not for the guest.
