The 2 acre manually gated property contains 2 rentals. The Barn Cabin (this listing) which sleeps 4, and the Main House which sleeps 10. These houses share 1 circular drive but have separate parking and outdoor living spaces.

Since we have a small working homestead nearby, guests can buy fresh cow milk, cheese, and yogurt at Windmill Creamery. The Barn Cabin has a fabulous covered porch with outdoor dining and lovely string lights to add a romantic feel to the property.

The Neighborhood:
Our farm is located on a quiet dead street made up of 2-4 acre homesteads. After dinner, take a walk or bike ride down our road and look up at the radiant stars that shine so brightly in the country.

Our 330 sq ft treehouse has a wooden ramp instead of steps for easy access to the trees! There is a lovely wrap-around deck offering two nice, remote places just to unwind and take in the scenery. Two Adirondack Rockers await you on the back deck!
The main room is open with a queen bed, small sitting area by picture window overlooking the creek, a kitchenette with Mexican tile mosaic countertop and full bath w/large, stunning walk-in shower and separate toilet area. You'll love the cobalt blue mosaic vanity in bathroom! The colorful kitchenette provides a small coffee maker, cups, light snacks, coffee/hot tea and a small microwave.
Up the stairs you'll find an inviting, cozy loft area with a twin and double bed. Caution to be taken with low ceilings. The bathroom is tiled in slate with a soaker tub/shower combo. The kitchen features Fisher & Paykel fridge, freezer and dishwasher with custom fronts to blend in with the white oak doors and drawers, a Bosch Speed Oven for both microwave and oven use and spectacular Charcoal Soapstone Quartz counters. The kitchen opens up to a spacious living area with a commanding view of Live Oak Lake.

Floor to ceiling gable glass brings the outdoors in, flooding the tastefully designed mid-century modern interior with warm natural light. A closet off the living area houses a washer and dryer. In the center of the cabin, black spiral stairs lead to the loft area where a queen bed is found with plenty more space to unpack and relax. While we have no TV to encourage engagement with the beautiful nature surrounding us, we do offer super high speed internet throughout.

Opening the huge glass sliders from the living area, comfy patio chairs and a smokeless Tiki fire pit await on the concrete wrap-around deck. A hammock can be found swaying gently in the trees, and lush sod wraps the cabin.

Waters Edge Commons—just a short walk away from the cabin—is the perfect place to have some outdoor fun, or just simply unwind. Available to all guests at Live Oak Lake, it features a wood pergola complete with swings, picnic tables, and a propane grill. Just down the short stone path our public dock extends into the water, perfect for fishing or an evening paddle in the beautiful wood rowboat. This extraordinary escape was just what we needed to enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors. Cabin has a creative modern design, with high end amenities, and is a super cool concept. Close and conveniently located to down town, but still far away enough to give you the outdoor experience. Isaac was a wonderful host. He checked-in with us several times to make sure that we arrived and all was well. Followed- up with us as well. We had a really great time. We would recommend to anyone that needs a good recharge, break from technology, and some fresh air to book a stay with Live Oak Lake!"

The Space:
The cabins are like a small hotel suite. It measures approximately 260 square feet. See photos for a layout of the cabins.
Nicole Creek RV Park and Cabins have 4 cabins available, so if the calendar says one is booked, we may have other cabins available . Nicole Creek is a functioning RV Park, as well as rental cabins.
We are only 15 minutes from Baylor and we are located in the country, but the time for you to get to your particular location at Baylor will depend. Close to Homestead Heritage for food and shopping.
This a reminder that we are a smoke-free property. There is no smoking allowed on any of the premises. Any evidence of smoke in the cabins will result in automatic extra $200 cleaning fee.

The Neighborhood:
The Tui is located at Nicole Creek RV Park and Cabins-a small and private RV park. The Tui is one side of a duplex cabin. The view out the front door is the RV park. Nice peaceful setting out in the country.

• Gravel Walkways – Our property features gravel pathways leading to the numbered yurts, bathhouse, and communal spaces. We recommend bringing comfortable shoes for walking around the grounds.

• Stairs to Yurts & Bathhouse Trailer– Access to the yurts and toilet stalls includes stairs, so please be prepared for this during your stay. If you have mobility concerns, feel free to reach out for more details.

• Natural Terrain – Our retreat is nestled in nature, so expect a rustic setting with uneven ground in some areas. Flashlights or headlamps can be helpful for navigating at night.

• You may encounter some of our local wildlife during your stay including bees, insects, snakes etc Most animals keep to themselves, so simply give them space, and keep food sealed. Enjoy the peaceful setting and the beauty of nature all around!

By booking this yurt, the Responsible Party acknowledges and agrees to the following terms for themselves and the rest of the yurt occupants in their party:
1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The Responsible Party acknowledges that staying at the Retreat involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Uneven terrain, falling branches, and other natural hazards.
Water-related dangers associated with the private lake and hot tub, including drowning, slips, and falls.
Risks of using the hot tub and sauna, including burns, dehydration, or slipping.
Encounters with wildlife, snakes, insects, and bees, which may result in injury, allergic reactions, or other harm. Weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme temperatures, storms, or lightning.
The Responsible Party voluntarily assumes all risks and responsibility for any personal injury, illness, or damage to personal property that may occur during their stay.
2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY
The Responsible Party, on behalf of themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators, and others in their party during their stay, hereby releases, waives, and forever discharges the Retreat, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or in any way connected with their stay at the Retreat, including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, or financial loss.
3. SAFETY & RULES COMPLIANCE
The Responsible Party and all parties staying at The Hive Yurt Retreat agrees to adhere to all safety guidelines, including but not limited to:
Wearing appropriate footwear and exercising caution on the grounds and near water.
Using the hot tub and sauna responsibly and in accordance with provided instructions.
Refraining from feeding or approaching wildlife.
Being aware of and prepared for potential allergic reactions to bees and other insects.
4. MEDICAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The Responsible Party certifies that they and those in their party are in good health and have no medical conditions that would be aggravated by activities at The Hive Yurt Retreat. The Responsible Party acknowledges that emergency medical care may not be immediately available due to the remote location.
5. INDEMNIFICATION
The Responsible Party agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Retreat, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, demands, causes of action, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from their actions or negligence during their stay.

The space
This unique home started as a 20’ shipping container. We insulated and paneled the interior in pine shiplap. The outside is clad with cedar siding with spacing to allow the original container to still be seen. Entry is through the original container doors. We removed the steel panels from the doors and replaced them with picturesque full glass. The fun rooftop deck is surrounded by a custom cable railing system and lit with LED lights under the rail that gives the deck a beautiful glow at night. The deck is accessed by an alternating step stairway.

You have exclusive access to the entire cabin, a delightful rooftop deck, and a convenient parking space right next to the property. Checking in is a breeze – we'll send you the passcode on the day of your arrival for a seamless and contactless entry through the smart lock. The cabins are like a small hotel suite. It measures approximately 260 square feet. See photos for a layout of the cabins. There are 2 cabins with 2 sides to each cabin. We have a total of 4 cabins, 2 in each building.

Nicole Creek RV Park and Cabins have 4 cabins available, so if the calendar says we are booked, we may have availability. Be advised that we have RV Guests as well as cabin guests. We are only 15 minutes from Baylor and we are located in the country, but the time for you to get to your particular location at Baylor could depend on traffic. Close to Homestead Heritage for food and shopping.

This a reminder that we are a smoke-free property. There is no smoking allowed on any of the premises. Any evidence of smoke in the cabins will result in automatic extra $200 cleaning fee.

Cabin is approximately 392 sq ft well designed and built space by owner. Front, covered deck which offers a bistro table and chairs with view towards the high fenced exotic ranch. Watch for Antelope, black buck, deer, elk and much more. Cabin is one bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom with shower. Fully equipped kitchen with electric stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave and drip type coffee maker/tea bar. Living room offers a bar with tv (Philo, roku and many other streaming services, spectrum internet). Full bed in sofa in living room.

Lounge in outdoor area in many designated seating vignettes. Hot tub is very private in privacy fenced enclosure and shared with other cabins.

All shared spaces around all cabins include: garden areas, BBQ (gas and wood fired), hot tub (in privacy fence enclosure), outdoor shower, bon fire pit(s), horseshoe pits, corn hole game, outdoor dining area, all shared.

Primitive high grass areas off limits in back acreage due to wildlife and our donkeys that protect the property. We are In The country and have snakes and big predators here, watch for them. There is also poison oak, ivy and sumac in some areas in this rural property (Primarily it is around the trees.) We maintain and remove it when we see it. We have several honey bee hives on property and you will enjoy our local honey in your cabin. If you are allergic, bring your necessary medication or equipment for any allergies you may need.

Guest MUST be 25 years of age or older to make reservation. Registered guest is responsible for their guest behavior.

Our little cabin is perfect for all Baylor sporting events and activities, fans of Fixer Upper, workshops at Homestead Heritage, Westfest and any and all Waco events. You will have access to the Brazos River for plenty of fishing and swimming. You will also find a picnic table and a fire pit to enjoy down by the river. (cabin is not directly on river but is accessible by vehicle or easily walkable as the cabin sits in the middle of 52 acres, the path is approximately 600 feet to the river)

When not out enjoying all that Waco and Central Texas have to offer settle in with a smart TV or find yourself sitting on the covered porch on the beautiful swing enjoying the sounds of nature.

Since we have a small working homestead nearby, guests can buy fresh cow milk, cheese, and yogurt. The Barn Cabin has a fabulous covered porch with outdoor dining and lovely string lights to add a romantic feel to the property.

Our 330 sq ft treehouse has a wooden ramp instead of steps for easy access to the trees! There is a lovely wrap-around deck offering two nice, remote places just to unwind and take in the scenery. The main room is open with a queen bed, small sitting area by picture window overlooking the creek, a kitchenette with Mexican tile mosaic countertop and full bath w/large, stunning walk-in shower and separate toilet area. You'll love the cobalt blue mosaic vanity in bathroom! The colorful kitchenette provides a small coffee maker, cups, light snacks, coffee/hot tea and a small microwave.
Up the stairs you'll find an inviting, cozy loft area with a twin and double bed. Caution to be taken with low ceilings. You’ll also find so many unique, added touches like the wood flooring that was originally a gym floor that we restored and repurposed. In the bathroom you’ll see beautiful vintage windows turned into cafe-style doors with stunning rain glass attached. All of our picture windows naturally bring in the beautiful nature of outdoors. The setting is predominately private so you may want to leave the zebra shades up for the views! A chain link was added to the entrance to keep the miniatures from visiting guests on the deck! Our German Shepherd, Sam, is also around a lot and LOVES people. She's earned the title, "Sam, The Treehouse Dog." Please let us know if you'd prefer our animals to be kept in during your stay!!

With their vivid fusion of blue, green, yellow, and red, male Painted Buntings seem to have flown straight out of a child’s coloring book. Females and immatures are a distinctive bright green with a pale eye ring. The French name of the Painted Bunting, nonpareil, means “without equal,” a reference to the bird’s dazzling plumage.

The painted bunting is arguably the most beautifully colored bird in Texas. The fascinating mix of hues makes it visually unique.

The Painting Bunting cabin is somewhat unique at Waco Creekside. It features a handcrafted porch railing and offers ground-level entry with no steps or stairs. Additional features include wide doorways, a step-in shower, an extra high toilet, and limited under-counter cabinets. The HVAC unit is wall mounted, allowing complete operation from a convenient, low height.

If you need a cabin that is disabled accessible, this one is for you. It accommodates two guests with its comfy king-size bed. The spaciousness of the combined living and sleeping quarters allows for easy mobility around the room. The chefs among you will appreciate the kitchen area supplied with utensils, cookware, hot plate, microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig beverage maker.

The nuthatch bird exhibits a somewhat “nutty” behavior or at least one that mystifies ornithologists. The bird often smears tree resin or pitch around the nest entrance. Whatever their reason, the birds seem to delight in their nests, resin and all.

Barn Swallow Cabin

The barn swallow bird has adapted so thoroughly to civilization that it is rare to find a man-made structure not used for their nesting (including most barns). Barn swallows capture most of their food on the wing so they spend more time aloft than almost any other land bird. So much so, in fact, that the renowned ornithologist Alexander Wilson once estimated that barn swallows travel over two million miles in the air during their lifespan (which he estimated was 10 years)!

Fortunately, the Barn Swallow cabin is much closer than two million miles no matter from where you start. The cabin accommodates two guests. Relax in its king-size bed or enjoy the homey seating area with great window views. A porch swing allows you to take advantage of the outdoors while under the roof of the spacious covered patio.

Cardinal birds mate for life, which perhaps is why they are often viewed as expressing the harmony of life. They also frequently sing together—one bird trilling several phrases, which the other completes. Floor to ceiling gable glass brings the outdoors in, flooding the tastefully designed mid-century modern interior with warm natural light. A closet off the living area houses a washer and dryer. In the center of the cabin, black spiral stairs lead to the loft area where a queen bed is found with plenty more space to unpack and relax. While we have no TV to encourage engagement with the beautiful nature surrounding us, we do offer super high speed internet throughout. 

Opening the huge glass sliders from the living area, comfy patio chairs and a smokeless Tiki fire pit await on the concrete wrap-around deck (wood pellet packs can be purchased for $22/each, and burn for approximately 45 minutes, if fire pit use is desired). A hammock can be found swaying gently in the trees, and lush sod invites your feet down to the water’s edge.

Waters Edge Commons—just a short walk away from the cabin—is the perfect place to have some outdoor fun, or just simply unwind. Available to all guests at Live Oak Lake, it features a state-of-the-art container pool with 10’ window and a wood pergola complete with swings, picnic tables, and a propane grill. Just down the short stone path our public dock extends into the water, perfect for fishing or an evening paddle in one of our complimentary kayaks or paddle boards. Take an afternoon snooze in the tree hammock or on cooler nights cuddle around a campfire with all your friends at the stone patio.

Perched among trees at the water’s edge, Lakeside South is the perfect getaway. Nestled carefully in nature, this modern cabin lacks no comfort or convenience; it even has a private hot tub outside! It has one queen bed upstairs and a bathroom downstairs. Complete with a micro chef’s kitchen featuring luxury appliances, top-notch mid-century furnishings and fine Scandinavian-inspired finishes throughout, this 450 sq. ft. cabin offers a one-of-a-kind experience.

The space
This is one of seven luxury cabins we offer at Live Oak Lake.

The bathroom is tiled in slate with a soaker tub/shower combo. The kitchen features Fisher & Paykel fridge, freezer and dishwasher with custom fronts to blend in with the white oak doors and drawers, a Bosch Speed Oven for both microwave and oven use and spectacular Charcoal Soapstone Quartz counters.The kitchen opens up to a spacious living area with a commanding view of Live Oak Lake.

Floor to ceiling gable glass brings the outdoors in, flooding the tastefully designed mid-century modern interior with warm natural light. A closet off the living area houses a washer and dryer. In the center of the cabin, black spiral stairs lead to the loft area where a queen bed is found with plenty more space to unpack and relax. While we have no TV to encourage engagement with the beautiful nature surrounding us, we do offer super high speed internet throughout.

Opening the huge glass sliders from the living area, comfy patio chairs and a smokeless Tiki fire pit await on the concrete wrap-around deck (wood pellet packs can be purchased for $22/each, and burn for approximately 45 minutes, if fire pit use is desired). A hammock can be found swaying gently in the trees, and lush sod invites your feet down to the water’s edge.

Waters Edge Commons—just a short walk away from the cabin—is the perfect place to have some outdoor fun, or just simply unwind. Available to all guests at Live Oak Lake, it features a state-of-the-art container pool with 10’ window and a wood pergola complete with swings, picnic tables, and a propane grill. Just down the short stone path our public dock extends into the water, perfect for fishing or an evening paddle in one of our complimentary kayaks or paddle boards. Take an afternoon snooze in the tree hammock or on cooler nights cuddle around a campfire with all your friends at the stone patio.

We are located 10 minutes from downtown Waco and Magnolia.

We generally allow pets for a $95 fee. You MUST ensure they are well-behaved, do NOT get on any furniture or beds, sleep in the pet crate provided and are NEVER left unattended at the property. Please leave no trace of your pets in the house or yard! Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Early check-in is available for an additional $35. This allows you to check in at least two hours early (depending on availability—2:00 or earlier instead of 4:00). You can request once reservation is confirmed.

We offer luxury spa robes, which can be quite nice if you plan to use the hot tubs. They are $10/ea and are available in S/M and M/L. You can request once reservation is confirmed.
