Beautiful Log Treehouse: We bought this cabin in the summer of 2009 and feel so fortunate to be able to share it with guests and friends and family. All three of our kids (now grown) love coming here to kayak, fish, golf, bird watch, relax and explore with their families. Our cabin is nestled high up in Pecan, Sycamore, Mimosa and Redbud trees. The view from the upper deck is fantastic. Great for bird watching. We hear the owls at night and watch red tailed hawks make nests and raise their babies. We have left the chicken coop standing as some day we hope to retire here and raise a small flock. You can't beat this for a perfect vacation spot whether you're wanting adventure or relaxation.
Most Historic Town in Texas: Bastrop is known as the 'most historic small town in Texas'. Historic Main Street has lots of interesting shops great for hunting antiques, great restaurants, live music in the evenings and a good old down home environment. There are an abundance of parks, several excellent golf courses, places to rent bikes and kayaks, live theater at the Bastrop Opera House and incredible historic homes. We're only 40 minutes from Austin and 30 minutes from the Austin Bergstrom Airport
- "We loved our time at this sweet cabin!! Even though it rained while there, we enjoyed time on the beautiful deck, watching the river. We were 5 minutes from Bastrop and enjoyed hiking in Bastrop State Park and eating downtown. The cabin had all of the supplies that we needed and more. I would definitely recommend this cabin and we will be back!!" - "Great, relaxing stay. Conveniently located and cozy." - "We were in town for the F1 race in Austin and this was a perfect location for that event. Very little traffic no matter what time we traveled there. The house is in a great location along the Colorado River with gorgeous sunrise view. Owners have made sure that you’ll have everything you need for a great stay!"

- "If you enjoy all the creature comforts and access to the outdoors, look no further. The hosts are amazing. Your room is stocked with treats and drinks. There is a coffee/tea bar. This yurt was nicer than most of the hotel rooms I have stayed in, and very spacious. We enjoyed the huge hot tub and the fire pit in the common space- they even provided a s’mores kit. We were in town to watch the Formula 1 Race at COTA. It wasn’t far from the track and it was so relaxing to come home to our secluded oasis after being in the heat with 100s of 1,000s of people each day. You aren’t far from Bastrop - a charming town and with quaint restaurants."

- "Oh my goodness we had the BEST time at Camp Swift! We are so happy to have stumbled on this property when looking for a place close to the Renaissance Festival. The owners were so nice and welcoming, by the time we got to there we felt like we were going to stay at a family member’s home. From check in to check out, everything about Camp Swift was easy, relaxing and FUN. The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed. We had a blast on the disc golf course, grilling outside, cooking inside. The beds are comfy, the shower hot. The cowboy pool was warmed up on our arrival and a perfect retreat on a cool evening. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Chris and Dorita, you rock!"

OTHER STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW:
- You’ll have to drive on a bumpy dirt road for about 1.5 miles to get to the property. Your car may get dusty. Consider it part of the country experience.
- We are in the country and you may hear country noises, like coyotes, woodpeckers, crickets, cicadas, trains in the far distance, and the occasional distant gunfire (especially during hunting season). This is Texas after all. Please do not shoot any firearms on the property.
- Cell phone service is spotty. If you have Verizon you are out of luck, but AT&T works fine. We do have high-speed internet and wifi. Keep this in mind while you’re hiking.
- While hiking, be mindful of barbed wire fencing, trip hazards, and falling branches.
- There are several exterior security cameras that monitor the outside of the cabin. They help keep the cabin safe when no one is there. These cannot see inside the cabin.
- We are on septic. Please do not flush any products other than toilet paper. Not even products that say they are "flushable" like wipes. Thanks!
- "My family had a great time in the country. The kids loved exploring the property and getting dirty. They loved the huge pine trees. It felt like we were in Colorado. In the guestbook was a map of the property that helped us find our way and also had some fun little surprises that the kids liked on the hike. The house was clean and the s’mores gift basket was a nice touch. Ryan was a good communicator too. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel like they are off the grid but still want all the modern amenities."

This is a good place for it!" - "Everything was perfect. Very nice little cabin in the woods, very nice and comfortable furniture. Only issue was Google maps had some trouble finding the property but that’s par for the course in this part of Bastrop county and not the owners fault. Felt very safe and secluded. Would recommend to anyone else looking for a rental in this area."

- "This yurt was perfect. Visited as we were attending the F1 race in Austin. Saved a lot of time with traffic to and from the circuit by staying on this side of COTA. Would definitely recommend and would stay again." - "This is a great place to get away. The property and the area are fun and there is a lot to do. My only advice is that if you're a pet owner, ride this one without them as the policies with the yurt make it difficult to settle in. Other than that, great place!"

- "Beautiful house and property! We’d definitely rent again." - "Stayed at Burn Valley Lodge during Thanksgiving week although it rained everyday I cannot say enough about our stay. To say it exceeded my expectations does not come close to how great our stay was. The lodge is large and very comfortable with everything needed for my daughter and I to prepare the Thanksgiving meal. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space when needed. The outdoors, although wet is beautiful and the privacy was perfect for what I was looking for. At night you cannot see another light. I highly recommend a stay for you and your family; you will not be disappointed. I’m working on my calendar for the coming year for another stay. Thank you Justin for this wonderful stay. You have a yard that is about 5 acres that lead to the back of the property. It is open for you to let your animal play and for you to hang out. Please check the pet box if bringing your pet. We love having your furry friends. Also if there will be more than one pet I will send an additional pet fee before you get here.
Please be aware since you are in the country we have neighbors who shoot guns during the day and sometimes at night. It usually doesn’t last long since I tell people Ammo is expensive Nobody in the area has been hurt or has there ever been stray gun fire that comes towards the containers.

Private. Peaceful. Hugged by the forest. A romantic getaway or refuge from the city. Whether you are interested in soul searching, bird watching, skinny dipping, or exploring the many offerings of the local area, you will discover why it’s aptly named Paradise Pines. A well equipped kitchen and an outdoor grill will meet your needs. Swim underneath a canopy of pine trees and keep cool for an outdoor dining experience behind mosquito curtains.
The space
Only 6 miles from downtown historic Bastrop which has nightlife, restaurants and shopping. Lake Bastrop offers a variety of activities and is even closer. The property is just north of the state park. Kayaking and river recreational activities on the Colorado are accessible from downtown Fisherman’s Park. Everyone who sees this property finds it enchanting and peaceful is the most often heard adjective. Artworks are original. There are 2 Smart TVs. Bluetooth speaker is outside on the porch. The porch has mosquito curtains.
Other things to note
Coffee for both Keurig and a French Press is provided. Propane is also furnished for the grill. However if you prefer charcoal, you will need your own. - "This was by far the most relaxing stay I’ve had anywhere. There were little details around the yurt that made me feel welcome. Not only was the yurt cute and cozy, it was quiet and peaceful. And communication and check-in was perfect!! I didn’t spend a lot of time on the property but really enjoyed my stay. "
