We only have 9 cabins & suites for rent which are all private, spaced apart and in middle of 30 acres of lovely fields and woods, so plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors without any human contact. Then, all cooking can be done in cabin (or suite if you reserved your suite with kitchenette) and/or on grills we provide at no extra cost, so no need to go to any restaurants... Even all our "extra-fun" Animal Adventures and Horseback Riding activities have been modified so they are "private" - just for you, by reservation and conducted outdoors and at "safe-distance"...

Our Reassuring Hygiene:
Upon each checkout, we ask all guests to cooperate in the safe-stay" procedures, with 3 simple steps: (1) wash their dishes with disinfecting soap we provide, air-dry and put them back in cabinets with doors closed, (2) put linens in plastic bags we provide and, seal and put by the door so we can promptly remove and (3) take all garbage to dumpster . Then we come in with face masks and spray every single surface with organic disinfectant and let the cabin air out while it takes effect, then go in and clean with disinfectant soap, all laundry is separately bagged and separately washed & dried in high heat. After cabins have been all cleaned out, we re-set beds with fresh linens and towels, new trash bags, cleaned / disinfected ac filters and filled up new coffee condiments. A final disinfecting of floors and doors are locked so no one can come in till you get here.

You will be staying in a 100 year old ranch house. It has been renovated with all the comforts of home. The ranch house sleeps 5 comfortably. The house has imperfections, but this is part of the charm. The shower is small, but does the job. An RV on the hill just above the ranch house can accommodate 4 additional guests, and has a shower as well. If you enjoy the outdoors, you are in for a treat. Remember, this is a rustic home on a ranch, you're not in a big city. Bird watchers will find this place to be a SEASONAL paradise !

This is a ranch.... Bring rugged hiking shoes or boots with rubber soles. There are steep hills and rolling pastures. You can get around the property on foot, Only guests 25 or older may rent the property. No parties, or events held here. NO SMOKING INSIDE THE HOUSE OR THE RV, NO GUNS and NO PETS Allowed. A "release of liability" waiver must be accepted before arrival. There are dangerous areas on the ranch with cliffs and seasonal water. There are old barb wire fences, rusty nails, spiders, scorpions, occasional snakes, porcupine, mice, coyote, raccoon, bobcat, skunk, hogs, wild turkey, deer and other indigenous wildlife on the ranch. This is typical of any land in the country. It’s possible that you will see some of these animals, they do exist on the property. There are times of the year when the creek is not running, and the pond is low. Apologies, but the weather cannot be controlled. Additionally, THIS IS NOT A SWIMMING PROPERTY. It's a place of relaxation, tranquility, and being with nature.
THERE IS A FEE FOR FIREWOOD USAGE. Firewood is a commodity and costs money. When you book a reservation, please ask me about firewood rates.

David was a good host and took my husband and two kids on a tour of the property while I rested after our trip. The house is older, but very clean and comfortable. The beds are so cozy and comfortable, which is what I look forward to most. We spotted some deer while we were there which was exciting and we walked around the property for a while, although the rocky and hilly terrain can be challenging. Our stay of a few days was reenergizing. I wish we could've stayed longer."

This cabin is dog-trot style meaning it has two separate cabins under one roof creating a central breezeway. We have enclosed the back porch and breezeway with all metal-framed glass giving it an open feeling while being climate controlled. The original logs and size were preserved from the 1840's, the first building in the area constructed by the first land grantee of this ranch! Built on this ranch, it allows for open views in the front and back, and secluded living at its best. Your only guests will be cows and goats. Central location being forty minutes from Gruene, Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, and San Antonio. Cabin is 1/4 mile from quiet county road and has expansive ranch behind it. Quiet country living at its best.

We have been in the STR business for 4 years. Our other property is a four-minute walk from the cabin and we have over 50 reviews with five-star rating. The Oden Ranch Rental sleeps up to 10 and might be a good place to send your group while you relax in the cabin.

The cabin is supplied with filtered and purified rainwater for all purposes, and you will fill the difference in your hair and skin! Other luxury items include robes and house shoes for the guest. A day bed and rocking chairs on the front porch and fire pit, and hammock swing off the back make for a relaxed setting. We also have a "cowboy pool", a 7' circular metal tank with a filter and circulating pump that can be heated on cold days for a small charge.

The space
Thimble House is a studio-style, modern farmhouse inspired, cottage that sleeps 4 or up to 6 if the additional two guests are children. Sleeping accommodations include a nicely appointed king size bed in the main living area and two twin beds in a separate little room with pocket door for separation. The king studio space also includes a sofa with a small pull out bed, a dining table, and a TV. If you scroll through the photos in the listing, you will find a floor plan sketch that might be helpful.

Enjoy the spa-like bath with double sinks and mirrors. Relax in a soaker tub with a separate glass enclosed shower. There is a closet with ironing board and iron included.

A fully appointed kitchen includes butcher block counter tops with farm sink, stainless steel appliances (refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave), toaster, and Keurig and drip coffee makers.

Please note that our cottages are not handicap accessible and the exterior rock pathways, steps and polished concrete floors can be difficult for unstable toddlers or elderly to manage.

🏀 The Cozy Oak has access to its own private game shed we refer to as “The Game Barn” where many outdoor games including basketball, Pickleball, whiffle ball, ladder toss, bocce ball, croquet and more can be found. Basketball court (shared with owners family) is across the driveway from the cottage.

🌳The Cozy Oak Cottage has one small bedroom downstairs and a sleeping loft upstairs. It is new (opened April 2024) & meticulously cared for and is a great place to get away for some relaxation while still affording all of the modern amenities you may want.

☕️There is a private area amongst some trees that offers a picnic table, lighting and a table/chairs for sitting and enjoying your morning coffee, lunch or dinner.

The Cozy Oak Cottage at the Red Barn Ranch is in the country meaning you may see insects, critters and other native wildlife. We have our cottage regularly and professionally treated for insects but we are in their habitat and they occasionally make an appearance. We have another Airbnb, privately tucked 200 yards away, behind the main farmhouse called The Red Barn Inn. Can be available if schedule allows to accommodate larger groups.

Come enjoy a relaxing stay at the Masters Lake Cabin in the Texas Hill Country minutes from Boerne. This beautifully restored cabin sits on Masters Lake. The property is comprised of 257 acres and features two lakes. The lakes are both stocked with bass for catch and release fishing. If you like to hike, you will find plenty of space for exploring. There is abundant wildlife to enjoy, including: whitetail and axis deer, bison, turkey, ducks and a variety of birds.

The Masters property is gated for maximum privacy, but is walking distance from Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort which offers fine dining, golf and spa services. You will also find yourself just 5 miles from shopping and dining in

The cabin sits on a private ranch with tons of space to roam. Feel free to throw on your hiking boots (or not — no judgment) and explore the land. There’s wildflowers, open skies, and even Jacob’s Creek — just a short walk away. It’s got crystal-clear water and giant limestone rocks that feel like something out of a movie. Perfect for a dip, a photo, or a moment of peace.

Want to just chill? We’ve got you covered. Curl up in the hammock, let the kids run wild, or kick back for a movie night — Netflix, Prime Video, and all your favorite streaming apps are ready to go.

And if your idea of the perfect evening involves a fire, we’ve got a big stone firepit that’s just begging for s’mores and stories. With the stars overhead and the sounds of the country around you, it’s the kind of night you’ll want to bottle up and keep forever.

We’re about a half-hour from town, but don’t worry — you don’t have to go anywhere unless you want to. Walmart, HEB, Costco, and Target all deliver right to the cabin through their apps or Instacart. Super handy if you want to stay tucked in.

If you *do* decide to head out, Hillbilly’z is a local burger spot just 5 miles away and totally worth it. And in the opposite direction, you’ll hit Black Board BBQ — a Texas Monthly favorite and a serious must-try. Plus, Boerne and Comfort are both just short drives away if you’re in the mood to explore shops, art, and small-town goodness. Wine lovers, take note: Hill Country wineries aren’t far either.

So come unplug, unwind, and make some memories. Once you’ve been here, you’ll get why so many people keep coming back.

No access to other buildings is permitted.

**Please note that the ranch is home to three generations of our big family. Although the use of the cabin is exclusive to you as the renter, your group will likely see some of us around the property giving tours of the wedding venue, landscaping, or enjoying the creek.

Next to the cabin there is a 1-bedroom guest cottage that we offer to visiting friends and family, and it's also used as additional lodging for wedding and event guests. If your group needs an additional bedroom, please message us prior to your visit so we can check availability and add it to your reservation if you'd like.

P.S. Note on the kitchen: There is a griddle, air fryer, toaster oven, smoker, and grill at the cabin for your use but there is no full size stove. Please bare this in mind when planning meals.

1846 Secluded, Restored Cabin on 40 acres with Modern Finishes

Take life easy at this historic cabin uniquely restored for comfort and rest. Cabin is 1/4 mile from quiet county road and has expansive ranch behind it. Quiet country living at its best.

When ready for adventure, we are centrally located being forty minutes from Gruene, Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, and San Antonio! Put -in for the Upper Guadalupe is only 10 minutes away.

The space
You will enter into a quiet and peaceful setting on 40 acres. This cabin is dog-trot style meaning it has two separate cabins under one roof creating a central breezeway.

We have enclosed the back porch and breezeway with all metal-framed glass giving it an open feeling while being climate controlled. The original logs and size were preserved from the 1840's, the first building in the area constructed by the first land grantee of this ranch! First constructed on this ranch, it allows for open views in the front and back, and secluded living at its best.

The cabin is supplied with filtered and purified rainwater for all purposes, and you will fill the difference in your hair and skin! Other luxury items include robes and house shoes for the guest. A day bed and rocking chairs on the front porch and fire pit, and hammock swing off the back make for a relaxed setting. We also have a "cowboy pool", a 7' circular metal tank with a filter and circulating pump that can be heated on cold days for a small charge.

We have been in the STR business for 4 years. Our other property is a four-minute walk from the cabin, and we have over 50 reviews with five-star rating. The Oden Ranch Rental sleeps up to 10 and might be a good place to send your group while you relax in the cabin!

The TV is hidden away when you want to go quiet, but can be raised by remote when you want to binge!

Guest access
Guests will have access to the 20 acres surrounding the house. If you would like a tour of the main house on the adjoining 20 acres (featured in the San Antonio Express News and houzz), rainwater capture system, or of the goats and cows intensive grazing process, let us know.

Other things to note
Access to the cabin requires passing through three gates but all have automatic gate openers and do not require you to leave your vehicle, coming or going.
