This is a favorite swimming cove for many past guests, see why people return to this rental year after year. Now is the perfect time to be at the lake!



The property includes a shared dock with boat access, paddle boards and swimming in Lake Travis. As of July 2025, the lake level has risen and there is plenty of water at the dock.

If you’ve had your fun in the sun and are needing a night on the town, hop in the car and you can keep it weird in Downtown Austin - just 20 miles away! The surrounding Texas Hill Country also offers plenty of shops, restaurants, wineries, and hikes for you to indulge in.

- "We found the Cabin to be just the right size for the two of us. The privacy and comfortable interior was good. We notified them the coffee pot was broken, and they purchased a brand new one and brought it by the same day. Guests need to be aware the TV is streaming only. Though in no way a reflection on the host, the lake being so low was a disappointment as we chose the cabin based on fishing out the back door at the dock. We did enjoy R&R just the same."

Bunny Hop Trail Cabin, nestled in a charming 'old Austin' neighborhood off Lake Travis, is a special retreat in the woods with a fire pit, heated swim spa (winter) or plunge pool (summer), and screened porch with swing and rockers.

The cabin is a 5-min walk to a marina with boat rentals, 10-mins from restaurants and swimming in Lake Austin, and a short Hill Country drive to wineries, trails, & more.

We're also 10 mins from a lakefront park (Lakeway) with trails, playground & sand volleyball.

The space
Our Bunny Hop Trail Cabin is perfect for restful nights under the stars by the fire pit and naps out on the porch swing with birdsong all around.

You can wake up with coffee in the steaming swim spa / cooling plunge pool watching the sun rise over the trees.

Days around here are easy with walks, swims, or whatever kind of boating you might enjoy.

There is a full kitchen, but also many restaurants, breweries, and other culinary adventures nearby.

Bring some epsom salt and your favorite book (or grab one from my shelf) and indulge!

This cabin is a place that I created for respite and joy. It is my home and I love sharing it with travelers.

While you are here, you will have privacy and full use of the house: driveway, patio areas, front and back yards and spa area. (I have some cabinets locked in the house for my personal use and they are clearly marked with locks.)

To ensure the property continues to be available to all guests, current and future, you may see people coming to care for the property throughout your stay. This may include the spa, the yard, and/or the garage. While you may see them on the property, they will not enter the house during your stay.

** TO NOTE ** Sometimes, I stay on the half-acre property in my garage or travel trailer (near the garage). The area I stay in is adjacent to the house and at the end of the driveway, but there are no shared spaces. I like to give guests (and allow myself) full privacy.

Other things to note
There is a cat named Kitty on the property. You are a special and gentle person if she lets you hang out near her. If you get to pet her, you have earned major bragging rights! This is probably not the property for you if you are allergic to cats in a big way. She does hangout on the porch when no one is around, but will most likely be in the garage and under the house during your visit.

Pets are welcome but please keep them on a leash outdoors. We have a lot of wildlife that can hurt pets if chased or left loose. Your pets are free to be off-leash in the small fenced backyard assuming they won't destroy the vegetation. (The rest of the property is un-fenced.)

The deer also love to be fed and enjoy cut up carrots, apples, pumpkins and unshelled unsalted peanuts. I've been told corn isn't good for them! If you put a pile of any of these goodies on the rock walls around the yard, the deer will come and hang out for awhile.

The critters love visiting the water spots throughout the day. Feel free to fill up all the water bowls for them.

This is the Texas Hill Country. Even though we are close to the city, we do still have bees, spiders, scorpions, snakes, coyote, hawks, foxes, and skunks on regular rotation. All of these animals make our area special and are needed. Shake out any clothes or shoes left on the floor or ground. Watch your pets and don't let them chase; I have seen even deer really hurt a dog.

We do treat for pests regularly in the living spaces so critters don't usually make their way inside, but can.

Thoughtfully curated, this unique lakefront hideaway is a true Texas gem. Originally a one room hunting cabin, she has now been transformed into this unique home. Perched above a highly sought after "honey hole" on Lake Travis, this 1.5 acre property boasts sweeping views of the lake. Private water access, parking, privacy, a dock, fire pit, large flat turf yard, multiple decks, amazing bird watching, two grills (gas) & vibe galore. Come for the lake, stay for the sunsets. Absolutely NO PARTIES.

The space
Wake up in the primary bedroom that features a king bed with a PURPLE mattress, blackout drapes and a 42" smart tv. It's right next to a bathroom that has a walk in shower, and a large copper, clawfoot soaking tub. GLORIOUS! Open the drapes and look out to the most beautiful view of the lake!

The 2nd bedroom is across the house and set up like a bunk room. (all PURPLE MATTRESSES) A queen bed on the bottom bunk, full on top bunk. A day bed that features a twin mattress on top, and a twin mattress that pulls out below. It's attached to a big bathroom that features a large walk in shower, and a door that opens to the patio.

The house is very open concept, and great for families.
The home features the original limestone walls, exposed wood beams and custom woodwork throughout. Vintage Beni Ourain rugs grace the floors, and thoughtfully curated furniture fill the rooms.

Local Austin fave, Clay Import's Emerald Green Palmas tile is a must see along the walls of our wet bar.

It is 100% NOT A PARTY HOUSE. Our neighbors will be super bummed, and there is noise ordinance that kicks ins at 10pm. Please choose someone else's home for your rager. :)

Other things to note
Chef's kitchen features a subzero fridge/freezer. Dishwasher, garbage disposal and more. Looking to cook? Our home is outfitted with OUR PLACE cookware and dinnerware. Make a good cup of coffee in the morning with the KEURIG or FRENCH PRESS. You should know, our home is not a "brand new build" style home. She's old, 1961 so be exact. She has her quirks, but it's part of what makes her so friggin' awesome! For example, our stove/range is a vintage WOLF, and it's SO DOPE! But she can be temperamental! (We have supplied you with a toaster oven just in case that feels overwhelming) But the WIFI is GREAT, and so are the sunsets.

Doordash delivers there and you are 12 mins from a major grocery store.

The cabin is in the country, which means some Texas wildlife! There are lots of deer, and lizards and such. Ducks down by the dock and LOTS of fish in the lake.

Speaking of the lake, there is absolutely NO DIVING OR JUMPING from the dock. There are multiple signs posted as well.

Guests assume all responsibility when deciding to go on or near the water or dock.

Guests are required to wear lifejackets anytime they are accessing the water or dock. If you do not have one, we can help, feel free to reach out. The lake level varies, it is a steep walk to the water below. Please use caution.
