Green Acres Spicewood is a newly renovated glamping retreat that offers our guests a chance to enjoy the Texas Hill Country & experience glamping all in one. This collection of 4 tiny cabins and 8 vintage RV's rest on 20 acres of beautiful countryside on Highway 71.

Each unit has access to The Bathhouse that consists of 4 bathrooms (2 indoor spa like bathrooms with showers) 2 outdoor showers, a community sitting area, laundry room, full-size refrigerator, and ice machine.

The Outdoor Space

Just outside the front door, you’ll find a comfy patio with chairs and side table for coffee time or any time.

A few short steps away, you’ll enjoy a smokeless stone fire pit, stocked with firewood. Additional 8-log firewood bundles can be purchased. Relax around the firepit or enjoy a game of cornhole or horseshoes.

The Llano River—just 2-minutes away by car or a short 5-min walk—is the perfect place to have some outdoor fun, fishing, kayaking or to just simply unwind.

We are here to provide a home away from home for those travelling alone or with horses. We can provide accommodations for up to 4 horses with our large indoor stalls (stalls will include an upcharge) and free use of our arena. During your stay, you may experience cattle being moved and worked, horses being trained and plenty of team roping practice. We thrive on this life and hope that you will find all of your wishes and enjoyment at our ranch.

The Llano River at the bottom of our land is a serene place to unwind, but as with any natural body of water, it has the potential to rise quickly due to flash flooding. We urge guests to monitor local weather forecasts, especially during the rainy season, and take appropriate precautions.

While we offer WiFi, please understand that we are in a rural area and service can sometimes be slower than in urban centers.

Cabin 4 combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one spacious and inviting area. In this space, you will also find two queen beds and a double futon for additional sleeping arrangements.

The cabin is fully furnished, ensuring that you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchenette is equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils, allowing you to prepare your own meals. The cabin also has a shower for your convenience.

About this space:

During the summer months, most of our guest spend time swimming/kayaking on a finger of Colorado River with Hill Country views (prop a beach chair up on the nearby sand bar or just enjoy your private firepit/hot tub and the lakefront views.

We offer two complementary shared kayaks.

We are located 10 miles from the city limits of Marble Falls, approx 25 min from Lago Vista, 40-minutes from Cedar Park, and 1:10 min from downtown Austin. The closest landmark is the Smithwick Market located right next door to our private gated entrance.

On food:

The most convenient option is to use our propane grill with complementary propane. For the true campers, cooking over a campfire is a fun part of the camping experience, so you’ll have your own personal fire pit with a grill top right outside your tent. You will need to buy firewood & fire starter to help get you off to the right start!

A few tips for the grill-inclined:
- Think classic: burgers, sausages, steaks, kebabs, etc.
- Disposable metal pans seem to work best
- Nearest grocers are H-E-B in Marble Falls (supermarket, 15 min) and Smithwick Market to the right outside the main entrance gate (local, 5 min)

You'll have a small fridge and freezer as well. If you aren’t planning on grilling, alternate food options are 10 minutes away in Marble Falls and so we recommend planning ahead for groceries /ice and restaurant dining/take out.

In the evenings, Edison string lights create a relaxed ambiance. Inside, find the comforts of a hotel room inside the safari tent. There is no cooking inside or outside of the tent, so plan ahead for meals and snacks. Loving Heart Retreats is located just 12 minutes from the center of Marble Falls, with a variety of local restaurants, taprooms, and grocery options.

ON-GOING DEVELOPMENT: There is some work being done on the property to open up new accommodations on our site, so you will see some of our upcoming projects in the works. Our team respects your privacy and will give you the space needed to enjoy your stay.

You of course will likely see many different deer species, insects native to this area, armadillo, rarely you will see bobcats, fox, snakes (all species), scorpions and yes even field mice. We do everything possible to avoid "pests" but we will not use poison that could endanger the wildlife, guests or their fur babies. If you go hiking be aware of your surroundings. This land belonged to them long before it belonged to us.

For your security, there is a ring doorbell at the front entrance.

-Room 1: The downstairs bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds. This bedroom is also equipped with a dedicated work station.

-Room 2: The loft upstairs has a queen bed and sound machine, and is open to the living room below.

-Living Room: There is a queen sofa bed. Extra pillows and blankets can be found in room 1, in a linen storage box under the bed.

We are kid friendly! A pack and play and high chair are provided during your stay, upon request. We also have a high chair provided in the cabin.
***The stairs inside the cabin are steep and are not advised to be used without adult supervision. A child safety gate is located and the bottom of the stairs and be closed.

The newly renovated bathroom has a walk in shower that is fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Toilet paper and hand soap are also provided. Extra towels can be found in the cabinet.

The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to feel like you are at home. Two K-cups are provided for each stay.

The cabin has Wi-Fi and a smart TV. This property is BYOL (Bring your Own Login). Guests are welcome to log in via Roku guest mode to access Netflix, Hulu, etc. A DVD player is also provided and DVDs can be found in the basket under the staircase.

Board games are also available and can be found on the shelf under the staircase.

There is a grill and fire table available for your use. Propane for the grill and fire table is supplied.

Visit Blanco State Park and enjoy a day of fishing, swimming or hiking. Interested in the Old West, The Buggy Barn has over 140 covered wagons. Real Ale offers guided tours and a taproom tasting experience. Within 30 minutes, enjoy the day exploring Fredericksburg, travel to Wine Road 290 which offers 19 wineries within a few miles of each other. Visit one of Fredericksburg’s two amazing museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. During the summer, make sure to stop by a fruit stand and grab some famous Fredericksburg peaches. Spend the day in Kerrville at the Schreiner Park located on 517 acres on the Guadalupe River, where you can swim, rent boats or enjoy hiking trails. The Museum of Western Art and the Pollinator Museum are fun and interesting for all ages. Indulge in one of the fabulous restaurants while listening to local artists’ music. There are two unique and private cabins at Blue Top: Grove and Sunset. Grove is perfect for a couple who want a quiet retreat, a family of four looking for fun, or four adults on a Wine Country weekend. Nestled in a shady grove of oak trees, it is private and quiet, surrounded by nature. The large front porch is perfect for morning coffee and afternoon snacks and beverages.

Blue Top is the best the Texas Hill Country has to offer: groves of live oaks, native grasses and wildflowers, a multitude of song birds, white tail deer, armadillo and other visitors. We're close enough to Highway 290 to provide easy access to Johnson City, Fredericksburg, and all the great Hill Country attractions, yet far enough away to be quiet, secluded, and private.

We are pet-friendly, but require advance approval upon the guest's acceptance of our pet guidelines, found in the House Rules section of our listing.

The cabins share a shaded amenities area, where you're find a gas grill and a fire pit.

We provide self check-in and checkout for a carefree visit. Information for check-in will be provided prior to your arrival.

There are two private guest accommodations on the property. You are welcome to explore Blue Top via established trails on foot or bike. A beautiful, shaded common area located between the cabins includes a gas grill, table and chairs, and fire ring, which may be used with advance permission.

Other things to note
Grove cabin accommodates up to four people. It is moderately child-friendly with porch railings and covered electrical plugs. We are pet-friendly, but require advance approval upon the guest's acceptance of our pet guidelines, found in the House Rules section of our listing.

The kitchenette includes a hot-plate, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, toaster, dishware, utensils, basic cookware, and coffee and tea. Linens, towels, and paper products are provided. There is also a gas grill steps away from the cabin.

There are a number of trails on the property that are accessible by foot or bike. Feel free to bring your trail bikes!

We are proud to provide a low environmental impact experience. At Blue Top, 100% of the potable water comes from rainwater. Also, we are 100% solar connected with a solar array onsite. We purchase additional solar power from our local utility. Our cabins are incorporated into the natural setting to promote the best views and opportunities to enjoy the wildlife.

We are doing our best to work with Nature as we create our home and open our 14 acres of raw beautiful land to guests. We have a yoga dome, tipi, disc golf, hammocks, trails, fossil hunting, a Spring, etc! The Bus sits on the edge of a hill overlooking the Texas Hill Country. The land provides an opportunity to connect with Nature. We intentionally leave this space in its raw form, especially when wildflowers are out.

The space
The School of Magic Bus is a converted school bus, great for a weekend trip the Hill Country! The bus has a couch, a small kitchen (sink, fridge, electric stove top, dishes, coffee maker, etc.), a small kitchen table, and a bed room area. There is an A/C/ heater that makes it comfortable for sleeping at night, but it’s an old school bus, so during the extreme heat or cold, can only insulate so much.

The bathroom is a 15 second walk away, which includes a shower, sink, and composting toilet.

The cabin opens up onto the edge of a hill with some lovely Hill Country sights and sounds.

The bus is located in the “residential” part of the property, meaning you may hear dogs, chickens, a few cars, passing guests, etc. (If you want a more secluded stay, look at our other 3 options, they are a bit more private.) There are also many areas to find seclusion throughout the property for all guests.

There is a community kitchen and pavilion area, 15 seconds away, that includes a full kitchen and supplies.

The cabin is on raw Hilly Country land, which means incredible beauty, yet untamed.

The property includes our 14 acres open for exploration! We have a yoga dome, hiking trails, our own private fresh water Spring for floating, 18 hole disc golf, hammocks, a communal kitchen and social area, etc.

We require all of our guests to read and understand the directions, check in instructions, and house manual when they arrive. We ask guests to respect the land, the space, and us.

We do use composting toilets in the cabin.

We run off of a rain water system, so water conservation is appreciated.

Again, the bus is in the “residential” area, meaning there is a little more happening for sights and sounds.

Responsible dogs only please! If you bring a dog, you must make sure they stay on the property at all times and do not roam onto neighbor’s properties. Their barking should be respectful of others.

This cabin is located on the water and steps away from the water and across the street from Blissful Hill Wedding Venue. The R&R River house (main house), Birdhouse Cottage, Jolene's Airstream and Cactus Camper are four other rentals available on the property which is perfect if you have a large family or large group. You can rent all five and enjoy the whole property to yourselves. All five rentals share the dock and 130 feet of lakeshore access.

The Cowboy Cabin is small and cozy with 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 1 full bathroom, a mini loft with a queen size bed and full size sofa sleeper in the living area. This is not a large home! The full kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, stove, oven & microwave and dual coffee brewer (k-cups & 12 cup/pot). The cabin has two smart TV's (one in the bedroom and one in the living area) with all major streaming services available for you to log in to, YouTubeTV is included!

Things to do close by:

On forty acres between Johnson City and Pedernales Falls Park, the cabin offers a private light filled space in the heart of all the fun of the Texas Hill Country.
Only 3 miles from Pedernales Falls Park, Amustus Ranch is near all that the Hill Country has to offer. Nature adventures, wine tasting,and more are all within a short drive of this secluded spot. And, on the breezy deck you can enjoy star gazing.
This property is not suitable for children under five years of age.

The space
The space is 780 square feet divided into an open living area and kitchen, a bedroom, and a full bathroom. The couch opens into a double futon if extra sleeping space is needed. There are 1200 square feet of decks for enjoying the out of doors.
We've always been a little over-the-top about wanting the cabin to look spotless, but we upped our routine. Since April 2020 we have also been disinfecting the cabin between guests. We continue to be vigilant about cleanliness.

We're doing our best to create a safe space that you can relax in and enjoy.

Guest access
The cabin and it's surrounding 40 acres are yours to enjoy. There are decks, a full kitchen, barbecue grills, and a fire pit for evening somemores.

I'll send you further directions to the property after you book. The address given may not be optimal for coming to the property with your gps since the name of the road has changed to RR 2766.
We are not a professionally managed space. We personally see to every detail and want our guests to know we have your health and safety in mind.

Unwind in a restored log cabin just for two with special comforts and seclusion, perched amidst oak trees, with a detached screened porch/fireplace. There is ONLY ONE guest cabin on 26 acres with our Lake Travis shoreline in the distance. A pastoral sunrise view of deer across the field begins the day. Central A/C, smart tv, clawfoot tub/shower, cotton bedding, duvet and robes. Propane grill. See the night sky, Wildlife/flowers, birding, stars-all yours.

The space
Experience the beauty of the Hill Country. Look out your front door across the field towards the lake, where deer bed-down in the evening. No houses across the lake provides a charmed, natural setting. A special spot is relaxing beneath the old oak tree by the lake, which is 1/4 mile (1300 feet) away. Hummingbirds, roadrunners, and songbirds may pay you a visit. It is all simply relaxing. You are the only guests on 26 acres.

Lake Travis is full. We do not recommend accessing the lake from our property yet due to debris from flooding. Nearby Lake Marble Falls or Lake LBJ are good alternatives. Krause Springs is down the road with a spring-fed pool for swimming.

We provide self-checkin.

You have:
An outside gas grill with side-burner, we provide propane.
Kitchenette is fully stocked with dishes/utensils/pots and pans for the grill's side-burner.
Microwave and small fridge inside and one full-sized refrigerator with top freezer (no ice-maker) by the screened porch. There is no oven. K-cup coffee machine, kcups, sugar, creamer.

Owners live on property out of view on a hill behind the cabin. We can't see you, either! We do share the road and must drive past the screened porch to proceed up the hill.

Guest access
We have a coded entrance gate and will provide a code to you the day prior to arrival.

Guests have access to all of the property from the cabin down to the lakefront. Please see our pictures to get an idea of the space: there is one showing the view from the cabin's uncovered porch looking out over a field towards the lake. Depending on the lake level, you can see the lake through the trees in the distance (In 2024, we are still in a drought stage and the lake is very low). The cabin is surrounded by oaks, so there is always some shade (plus the additional separate screened porch) and typically a nice breeze.

Keep in mind that even though this is 26 acres, it is private property, and there are neighbors on other acreage in the area. Drones are not allowed. Loud music can be heard.

Please note the cabin is intimate (but lovely and you will not want to leave). Our pictures display the interior, but just a word of caution in case you are not ready to be in close quarters with your travel companion. A solid door was added between the bedroom and bath/kitchenette area but is not reflected in the pictures.

*2025: Lake Travis is now full. We do not yet recommend accessing the lake from our property due to debris from flooding. Going to Lake Marble Falls or Lake LBJ would be preferable.

There is a hammock between the trees. Both the cabin porch and the screened porch have chairs and pillows and there is a small bistro table on the screened porch. The screened porch is enclosed with plastic panels in the winter.

FYI-"Property Use Taxes" is a poor label. This is the required state and county hotel tax.

We are the original owners since the log cabin was reconstructed (by L.C.) in 1995.

Find some peace and quiet in our 400 sq ft cabin, fully designed and built by your hosts Marlena and Eugene. With its stylish interiors and outdoor options, you’re sure to find plenty of moments to relax here. Enjoy your coffee from the front porch or screened in back porch, cozy up with a good book in the hammock or enjoy a movie in bed with our fast Wifi (bring your laptop!). You’ll also have your own trail through the forest to an ancient oak tree (you may see other guests at the tree.)

Our gravel driveway stretches a scenic mile without potholes, but it may be unsuitable for extremely low-riding vehicles, and those with front spoilers or body kits.

The cabin is conveniently close to your parking spot. While maintaining our privacy at our home 200 feet away, we're readily available if you require assistance.
