**As most of you know we had a catastrophic flood on July 4th this year. We are devastated at the loss of friends and their homes and those w/ extensive flood damage. Our much loved cabin did survive though, but the bottom level closest to the river level did sustain some damage. Good News, the cabin is fully repaired and we can in fact comfortably accommodate guests. The riverfront is still growing grass back and we lost most of the riverfront amenities. The riverfront has been cleaned up and the river is open for water activities. Fall has come to Kerrville/Fredericksburg and is here with everything y'all love about the Hill Country, low temperatures, cool night breezes around riverfront campfires.

This beautiful restored 1940’s studio cottage (400 square ft) with a kitchenette and bathroom. The main room is open concept defined by the furniture. This cottage is located on Eight acres with the primary residence on property. It is at the beginning of the Wine Trail and the Texas Hill Country Trail.

Perfect location for weekend travelers. The cottage is just minutes outside of the City of Kerrville just three miles off the 10 freeway. Twenty minutes to Fredericksburg and 30 minutes to Bandera.

The bedroom is adorned with shiplap wall with a vintage chandelier at the foot of the bed. The bed is a comfortable queen gel foam bed. It’s one you just want to sink into for a long relaxing sleep.

The living area has a lazy boy couch that pulls out to a double bed. Both side tables can accommodate clothing. As well as a closet that is perfect size with black velvet hangers.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishware, glasses, and all cooking utensils. There is every thing you will need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just bring the food and beverages! There is a small refrigerator that has a freezer, mIcrowave oven, toaster, Keurig coffee maker stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa and stevea. Propane BBQ grill is next to the porch.

Their is a lovely porch that has rocking chairs and a dinette set for having dinner or drinks overlooking the beautiful gardens. A wall fountain on the porch is just pure serenity.

Wildlife is a plentiful. There is a bird 🦅 and hummingbird feeders hanging off the porch.

In the evening there is a fire pit for your enjoyment. Everything to make s’more is in the cottage. Wood is available. . Just enjoy our beautiful Texas night sky!

There is covered parking in front of the cottage. It will cover two cars or motorcycles. We can move the trailer to the back forty to be secure and out of the way.

- "The little cabin was set on the side of the hill looking out onto beautiful views. Inside the cabin is just another reflection of the hill country with its decor. I loved the porch for early morning sunrises and late night sitting. The hosts are the most hospitable people you will find and have tons or recs on things to do. - "We had a very nice stay here. Property was gated, peaceful, beautiful and had roaming cows to boot! The listing pointed out there was no stove or wifi which wasn't an issue for us at all. We were able to text and browse with no issues and we were out during the day and ate out at night. There were no televisions in the house; however, it wasn't an issue for us as we enjoyed the cool mornings and evenings out on the big front porch deck after being out for the day. The other huge plus was we were able to bring our pets with us! It can be hard to find VRBO's allowing pets and this was such a big bonus for us and appreciate owners that allow, as in our case, two small pets. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again."

The Curious Fox Cabin is located in the beautiful Hill Country, approximately 12 miles outside of Kerrville. The space is a studio with a loft. The cabin contains a queen-sized bed on the main floor, and a single bed in the loft. There are two additional homes on the property (one is occupied by the owners and the other is being renovated). Both are located about 100 feet from the Curious Fox. Only long-term stays (28 days) are accepted.

The space
From your Cabin, you can easily access the surrounding quirky small towns, the Folk Festival, wineries, live music, hiking, state parks, and river activities. You are also in the middle of some of the best motorcycling roads in Texas. You can relax on your front porch and take in the views of this beautiful 11 acre hill country property. We have just completed a .59 mile hiking trail on the property, which is an intermediate level challenge. Ask for more information.
Night will bring deer and other critters close to your cabin (maybe even the Curious Fox). Morning will break with the sounds of song birds and hummingbirds. The bird feeders outside your cabin will keep you entertained while you are enjoying your coffee.
Sleeping:
The cabin has a comfy queen bed on the main floor and a single bed in the loft that can be used for reading, meditating, or sleeping. You must climb a ladder to access the loft, and there is a weight limitation of under 250 pounds for the ladder.
Amenities:
The cabin has a mid-sized refrigerator, toaster, double burner convection hotplate, pans, dishes, and utensils. A propane BBQ grill is right outside your door. Bring groceries and settle into this quiet cabin to relax and decompress. The bathroom is supplied with everything that you will need for your stay: shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, hair dryer. You have access to a washer and dryer located in another building. The cabin has fiber wifi, YouTube TV, and Roku if you still need to be connected.

A mini mart is located approximately 5 miles from the cabin and a Dollar General is 7 miles. The closest HEB is 12 miles (in Kerrville).

Parking is located in front of the cabin. It is self-check-in; door is unlocked and information sheet is on the counter.

Please note: This vacation rental is next door to a electrical company so you may have a bit of noise in the morning from the employees leaving in their trucks. It is also on a busy road so you will have noise from both. The home is insulated however people sensitive to traffic noise may not be comfortable. Weekends and evenings are more quiet.

NOTE: If there are more people than what is registered, there will be a $20 per person charge per night and host must be notified. There is no charge for children 2 and under. We also allow small - medium size dogs (40lbs) (up to 2) with a $50 pet fee per dog per stay. All dogs must be kept on a leash outside of the house. They must not get on furniture, kept in a crate when unattended and must be on flea treatment and groomed. Dogs are not to sleep in the beds. Additional charges may be incurred if pet chews rugs, furniture, etc. , sheds excessively, soils inside the house and/or has fleas. This causes us to have housekeepers do more than our already strenuous cleaning. Dogs should be quiet, calm and under control at all times. (THANK YOU)

There's a second fire pit on the patio (this one's propane), and there's even an outdoor shower for post-creek cleanup. This kid- and pet-friendly location is great for wildlife watching and stargazing, too! Smoking's allowed, but outside only.

Inside this fine waterfront rental, it's light and airy, with rustic wood floors and accents. The two bedrooms come with queen-sized beds, and there's a full bath with a shower/tub combo off the master bedroom. With a pull-out that's perfect for a child, there's sweet slumber space for up to five people. There's a second full bathroom, this one with a shower stall, and fresh linens are provided for bed and bath. The Old Fellow's Farmhouse near Kerrville once played a role in the rich farming and ranching history of the Hill Country. Our Wild West Cabin sleeps up to 8 people and includes a queen bed, one twin bunk bed, a full sleeper sofa, and a loft area with two twin mattresses. In addition, there is a kitchen (oven), a full bathroom with a bathtub, AC/heat, cable TV, a picnic table, a fire ring, and a charcoal grill. *Please bring towels, blankets, pillows, linens, grilling utensils, and personal items.
