Four Sisters Ranch Cabin is one of two cabins available on Four Sisters Ranch. (Kat's Kabin is the 2nd.) This is a large cabin with two queen beds on one end and a full kitchen on the other. A smart TV and a couch are in the middle of the
Four Sisters Ranch Cabin is nestled in the Texas Hill Country at 1848 Lemond Rd. about 7 miles from Utopia, Texas. The location is between Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park! We invite you to enjoy our ranch cabin and hike, bike and explore 500 acres of a working family ranch.

Sip your coffee on the back porch with a fantastic view. This is a perfect place to unwind, make s’mores around the fire pit, star-gaze, enjoy the fresh country air and escape the stresses of the city.

You can enjoy the sounds of nature, wildlife and a beautiful night sky. You may see a variety of wildlife from the porch including deer, turkey, wild hogs and hummingbirds. Fire Flies are often seen during the summer months.

Located 90 mi NW of San Antonio and 7 mi from Utopia, the cabin is 15 miles from Lost Maples State Natural Area and 23 miles from Garner State Park. The Hill Country State Natural Area is about 45 miles away.

Our curvy, scenic roads boast fantastic hill country views. Local activities: Golf in Utopia (the setting for the movie 7 Days in Utopia). Go swimming at Utopia Park on the Sabinal River, Float the Frio River. Hike at Garner Park. Go birding at Lost Maple Park. Gaze at the stars. Photograph the picturesque hill country views. BBQ on the patio. Visit Lost Maples winery. The Texas hill country is a wonderful year around birding & wildlife viewing destination! We are in one of the best areas of Texas to see the Golden Cheeked Warbler, Black Capped Vireo, Vermilion Flycatcher and more!

Dine at The Laurel Tree in Utopia (requires a reservation) and Mac & Ernies in Tarpley for a fantastic dining experience! Utopia has several cafes and sometimes great BBQ on Saturdays at Big Ern's.

The nearest airport is in San Antonio (~1.5 hr drive). Austin is an ~ 3 hour drive.

Other Things to Note; For major holidays, a three night minimum is required. We might consider a one night booking. Send us an inquiry.

Utopia is a very small community with a general store, bank, gas station, cafes and a few shops. Limited groceries are available at the general store. The nearest large grocery store and hospital is 45 miles ( Hondo, Kerrville or Uvalde). Cell phone service is very limited, only AT&T works and it is spotty.

You can also rent Kat's Kabin #913458 if you would like to bring another family with you. It is about .2 miles away.

Although the cabin is secluded, you may hear the family gathering nearby sometimes in the summer and on holidays.

Our cabin sleeps 4 on two queen beds. No more than four people and one dog are allowed unless you have prior approval by the owner. There is a full kitchen and bath. There is a smart TV with DVD player and a large selection of movies for you to enjoy. We have internet! There is a large porch on the front and back of the cabin where you can relax and watch the wildlife come to the feeder.

Note: Since the cabin is one large room, it is not suitable for young children who need a separate place to nap. Our porches do not have rails so we are not an ideal place for toddlers.

If you want to visit the State parks you must make a reservation online 30 days in advance.

GPS is not always accurate. Take Hwy 187 north from Utopia. In 3 miles go left on West Sabinal Rd. Continue until you get to Lemond Rd. Take a left on Lemond and continue (passing through 4 cattleguards) until you get to 1848. There is a rock sign on your right. Follow the Four Sisters Ranch signs at the turns.

This is a nice small 2 bedroom cabin in Utopia. It is tucked away on County Road 355. It is just a half of a mile from main street Utopia. The Sabinal River runs though Utopia. So you can enjoy the Utopia Park Lake that has a dam with plenty of water to swim in and fish year round. Utopia is also 15 minutes from Garner state park and the Frio river. It is also just a 15 minute drive to Lost maples State park in Vanderpool. Come stay in this comfortable cabin and enjoy all there is to do in the hill country.

- "Spent the long 4th of July weekend with friends in a quite spot in Utopia. Great location to take trips through the hill country. Nice well equipped cabin. We saw deer each morning along with the local goats, golden retrievers, and farm cats. This Cabin is located just steps away from the cool clear Sabinal River with 500 feet of river frontage, an area famous for watching the abundant wild life and bright starry skies. A BBQ grill, picnic table, hammock and campfire pit are located just off the covered deck. From either the deck or the picnic/BBQ area you can enjoy the view of the beautiful river right out your door. Roasting marshmallows, cooking over an open fire, fishing and swimming are all waiting in one convenient vacation spot.

Don't expect to "rough it" when you come to the Hummingbird. Comfortable bed linens, a fully furnished kitchen and convenient bathroom mean most of the packing is already done for you. We've got plenty of towels to use after swimming and all the utensils, pots and pans you'll need for cooking your favorite meals. If you don't feel like cooking, that's ok too! The microwave, campfire, grill and restaurants in town provide easy alternatives. The Dish TV/DVD and attractively decorated atmosphere of the Hummingbird mean staying in and relaxing is always a welcome option for those who played too hard during the day.

- "This cabin is set back off the beaten path, their is deep water behind with plenty of room for chairs to gather and relax away from the hustle and Bussel, we were their July 4th and it was peaceful after spending the day in Garner State Park it was nice to come to the cabin where we could relax and watch the deer graze in the open pasture. we really enjoyed our self's hope to return soon. Tracy was a very good host; the place was clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. Thank you for the time well spent!!!!!"

The cabin was just what we wanted--spacious enough for 4, super close to the water, and complete with a mossy old oak tree out front with a picnic table under it. We couldn't be more pleased."

- "Well the Sabinal used to run through the property but that's not their fault it dried up. Anyway, the pool was nice and the Tomahawk was a perfect little place for a weekend away from the city. My pup also enjoyed his stay with the wide open area and birds to watch. - "This was really nice area and it was very quiet. The cabin was cute and you had a lot of space. There are other cabins there but you have a lot of space separating yours from others. The place was very clean. Had all the amenities needed. Definitely recommend staying there and would stay again." - "We liked the cabin; it was cozy and comfortable. River Park Lodge overlooks the Sabinal River just south of Utopia Park Lake. This 4 bed / 2 bath home has a big porch with hot tub and 300 feet of private river frontage. The crystal clear and spring fed Sabinal River is flowing at the southern edge of our property. It is mostly shallow, so it is perfect for kids, but there is a 5 foot deep hole as well. And it is very private.

Enjoy the quiet at night and dark skies for star gazing or watching bats catching their dinner. You may also see axis and whitetail deer crossing through the front part of our property. Hear rustling nearby? It is probably an armadillo. Hawks and owls are also out, so guard your small pets!

This is a rural area that still hosts abundant natural wildlife and vegetation, so be mindful of wild animals and prickly and poison plants.

* Wild animals, including White Tail and Axis Deer, Armadillos, Red Fox, Racoon, Skunk, Ringtail Cat, Bob Cat, Russian Boar, Javelina, Rabbit, Coyote, and even Mountain Lion are still prevalent in the surrounding hills. So please be mindful, especially at night, as most of these animals are nocturnal.

** There are various species of cactus and other vegetation with thorns that can cause punctures. Poison Oak and Poison Ivy can also be found much of the year. So be mindful of the plants that you and especially your children touch or walk near and with this in mind, please do not leave your children unsupervised.

*** No three or four wheelers are permitted to be operated on or around the property and its road. Of course, County & State roads and highways are available to motorcyclist and bicycles. So be careful and enjoy.

**** Please do not cross into any enclosed or fenced areas or onto neighboring properties.

***** The charm of this area and its ambience is its quiet solitude and lack of night light pollution. Noise and outside lights can disturb and ruin this for everyone for miles around. Therefore, except in an emergency, use only minimal outside lights and absolutely no excessive noise after 10 PM.

This is the country! There are all kinds of wild animals and other potential hazards around here: poison oak, sticker burs, bugs, black-widow spiders, ticks, snakes, deer, rabbits, raccoons, possums, armadillos, you name it.
Scorpions too. Scorpions aren't much of a problem here by the river, but they are all over the hill country and one may occasionally make its way inside the cabin!

Offering a stylish, newly remodeled PoolHouse on the beautiful Sabinal River. It is close to the Frio River, Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park, breweries and vineyards. Surrounded by the famous Twisted Sisters. Watch deer roam the property, enjoy swimming in the river (direct access) or the property pool.

Note: the pool is shared with another cabin and my family home.

The space
Our PoolHouse is loaded with fun Rock-n-Roll design, comfortable furnishings, live edge slab countertops, custom tile work and tons of character. It is directly by the pool (sorry no small children allowed) and has an entry on the back deck. A perfect place to drink your morning coffee and watch the deer.

The Poolhouse is attached to the common area/pool. At times it can be quiet, but other times full of people from our other guests in our Bunkhouse or my family and friends.

The pool and the river are accessible from the property. The cabin is located directly in the pool yard and other guests might access the patio to get to the pool.

We have large dogs. They are friendly, but will alert us when strangers enter the property. We will put them in the house if we are here, but we cannot be here all of the time. They are our beloved pets and are here for our protection and yours. There are no dogs allowed in our cabins.

Beautiful, secluded ranch cabin on 1000 private acres of the Four Sisters Ranch. Located in the most scenic part of the Texas Hill Country. The Texas hill country is a wonderful year around birding & wildlife viewing destination! We are in one of the best areas of Texas to see the Golden Cheeked Warbler, Black Capped Vireo, Vermilion Flycatcher and more!

We have horse shoe pitching, roping dummy, cards and other games to play as well as internet and a smart TV.

Located 90 mi NW of San Antonio and 7 mi from Utopia. The cabin is 10 miles from Vanderpool, TX home to Lost Maples State Park and Lost Maples Winery. Garner State park, the Frio River and Concan are about 30 minutes away. Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Medina, Concan, Boerne, Bandera and Comfort are all close by and great for shopping.
Night life is available in Bandera.

Guest Access: Guest must arrive by car or motocycle. There is parking next to the cabin. Hiking and biking are allowed on the ranch.

Interaction with Guests Guests will have the cabin to themselves. Hosts live on the ranch and are just a short distance away, should help be needed.

The Neighborhood Out in the middle of nowhere. Very private and quiet. No nearby neighbors or city lights. Surrounded by nature in a gorgeous hill country setting.

Getting Around No public transportation is available.

The nearest airport is in San Antonio (~1.5 hr drive). Austin is an ~ 3 hour drive.

Since our cabin is one big room, we aren’t suitable for young children who need a separate room to nap.

Usually we require a two night minimum. For major holidays (that involve a Monday off) a three night minimum applies. Occasionally, when we have one night free between reservations, we will rent that night for guests who might like to come for a quick stay.

Utopia is a very small community with a general store, bank, gas station, cafes, coffee shop and a few gift shops. Limited groceries are available at the general store. The nearest large grocery store and hospital is 45 miles (Hondo, Kerrville or Uvalde). Cell phone service is very limited, only AT&T works well in this area.

If you intend to visit one of the State parks in the area, be sure to make a reservation online 30 days before the date you wish to visit.

If you want to make a reservation for the Laurel Tree Guest Table, be sure you make the reservation as soon as possible as they are only open for lunch and dinner on Saturdays.

The Texas hill country is a wonderful year around birding & wildlife viewing destination! We are in one of the best areas of Texas to see the Golden Cheeked Warbler, Black Capped Vireo, and many others. A recent guests told us we needed to advertise as a "birders paradise" as they had seen so many varieties of birds on our ranch.

Although the cabin is secluded, you may hear some family gatherings next door in the summer and on holidays.

Guests can hike, bike and explore over 500 private, wooded acres of the ranch. See wildlife of all kinds including birds, turkey, whitetailed deer and wild hogs.

Other things to note
Since our cabin is one big room, it is not suitable for a family with young children who need to nap. We also do not have rails on our porches so this could be a safety hazard for a toddler.

For major holidays (that involve a Monday off) a three night minimum is required.

No more than 4 people unless you have PRIOR permission from the owner. If permission is granted, we do charge a fee for extra guests.

Utopia is a very small community with a general store, bank, gas station, cafes, a coffee shop and some gift shops. Limited groceries are available at the general store. The nearest large grocery store and hospital is 45 miles ( Hondo, Kerrville or Uvalde).

Cell phone service is very limited, only AT&T works and it is spotty.

This cabin can sleep up to 6 people with a Queen bed downstairs, 2 Twin beds in the Loft, a Futon in the Living Room, and a Full Bath. Offering a stylish bunkhouse on the beautiful Sabinal River. It is close to the Frio River, Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park.. Surrounded by the famous Twisted Sisters. Watch deer roam the property, enjoy swimming in the river (direct access) or the property pool which is shared with our family and one other cabin.
We live right next door on the property (the Bunkhouse is a guesthouse) and will be available to assist you the best we can.

Guest access
Guests will be able to use all parts of the property except our private back yard and home. You will have to enter the pool through the entrance by the PoolHouse. You are welcome to drive and park in the guest parking if you like.

Other things to note
No dogs are allowed in our cabins or on the property. We absolutely love dogs, but other dogs disrupt the balance, bring in parasites, etc.

Less than 8 miles to Utopia, 13 miles to Lost Maples State Natural Area, 22 miles to Garner State Park and 36 miles to Bandera, it's a short drive to just about anywhere you'd want to go.
