- "My fiance and I stayed at The Rocky Mountain Cabin with our 2 dogs. Totally wowed us. Down a dirt road into a beautiful hidden valley. We went to Zion National Park early in the morning, but after learning we needed a permit for the good hikes and seeing how over crowded it was, we checked in early and spend the entire day exploring the mountains with our dogs. Zero traffic and the most picturesque views. We got to watch the rancher’s sorting their cows, which felt like a real-life western. The owners told us that Kevin Cosner’s Horizon was filmed on the ranch, which was such a fun fact for us. The night was amazing with the stars and zero light pollution. All the right vibes. The Staff was truly wonderful and so helpful. We highly recommend staying here and using up all the amazing amenities. "

This historical property has been updated from the inside out. Built in 1904 by the Wilson family, one of the very first families to settle LaVerkin. It is one of the oldest Pioneer homes in all of Southern Utah.

This one bedroom, one bath structure is a combination of adobe brick and stick frame construction. The outside of the building has been left primarily untouched to maintain its historical integrity but has been updated inside to accommodate the modern traveler.

- "We wanted to visit Zion and Bryce Canyon without breaking the bank, and staying here made that possible. Loved that they had a full sized fridge and freezer, a cooler we could take out with us, a rice cooker, a slow cooker, etc. We used the grill everyday so we could save a bit and not have to eat out. They donate extra food to a local food bank if possible or feed it to their chickens (not on site sadly, but the neighbors have sheep!). Some things you may want to pack or buy- foil for veggie pouches etc on the grill, Tupperware containers for leftovers, preferred seasoning (they have salt and pepper), preferred coffee (they supply some but we didn’t like it). They have a shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser in the bath. I have a bad back and the king bed was fine for me. Mother in law slept on the bunk and she didn’t have any complaints- bunk mattress is thin but seems to be memory foam, so a bit firmer than the king bed. Plenty of blankets for us. Loved having a ceiling fan, a/c was cold and easy to change settings when too cold. It’s just under a 30 minute drive to the Zion south entrance, and about 10 minutes off I-15 to get to Bryce Canyon or Vegas in 2 hours. Really cool place overall and we will definitely be back."

To reach the cabin, guests must have a 4x4 vehicle with both high and low range. The route includes rugged mountain terrain designed for true four-wheel-drive vehicles only, and standard all-wheel-drive models will not make it. Due to the cabin's remote location, smaller creatures native to the area, such as mountain mice and woodrats, may occasionally find their way into the vicinity. Please make yourself at home and enjoy the entire Tiny Home, the outdoor deck, and your designated parking spot right at the home. Guests also have access to a beautiful park on the property, a Tesla charger, and plenty of nearby public lands to explore and enjoy the area's natural beauty. Apple Valley is a quite small town with no light pollution, nestled in a mountain range, creating a beautiful atmosphere.

Getting Around:
Cars are the easiest way to get around the area, and you’ll have your own parking space right at the Tiny Home. Guests are also welcome to bring bikes—there are incredible trails nearby! Gooseberry Mesa, a world-class mountain biking destination, is just a 6-minute drive away. It’s a fantastic way to explore the stunning desert landscape and the surrounding public lands.

While most guests come to visit Zion National park we encourage guests to find their way to the many other attractions like the grand canyon north rim, Bryce canyon, coral pink sand dunes, Pipe springs monument, sand hollow state park, snow canyon state park, Gooseberry mesa, and much more all these locations are within a 2 hour drive from our resort with activities like sand dune racing/play, kayaking, hiking, biking, swimming, boat rentals, and so much more! A must-see before you leave is a locals favorite, Water Canyon, which is free to hike, has a waterfall at the end of a 3-mile hike, and is beginner-friendly, located 20 minutes from the property!

The space
Our 320 sq ft Cabin Suites are furnished with two memory foam queen beds which will comfortably sleep up to four adults. Please note that one of the queen beds is located in the loft area accessible by ladder only. The cabins are also furnished with a twin size futon couch (futon bedding available upon request), table and four chairs. Other amenities inside the cabin include a full bathroom with stand up shower, kitchenette supplied with sink, mini-fridge, microwave, two burner hot plate, and coffee maker with free coffee supplies. All cabins have heat, air conditioning, and free access to a reliable WIFI connection.

Outside you will have your own front porch with a set of patio chairs, hammock chair, and yard space with access to a private firepit, picnic table, and BBQ grill. One complimentary bucket of firewood may be provided with additional firewood for sale at the office. You will also have access to enough parking for two vehicles next to the cabin and additional parking in front for trailers if needed. 

Like all of our cabin rentals, you will have 24-hour access to our office/store/laundry facility. The door code to your cabin will also allow access to the office after hours. In the office you will find a variety of items for sale including snacks, drinks, firewood, and charcoal. Cash and online payments are accepted at the office or we can add a charge to your reservation. Other items we offer free of use include a variety of cooking supplies (pots, pans, hot plates, toasters, coffee makers, cooking and grilling utensils), lighters, lighter fluid, and coffee. We even offer free disposable eatery (plates, bowls, cups, utensils), as well as seasonings and cooking oil. Please ask about availability of items when pre-planning your trip. Laundry is available 24 hours a day and is $4.00 per full wash/dry cycle.

Please be aware that although we are listed as pet friendly, we always charge a small fee for pets. Standard fees start at $20 per night and max out at $60. However, this fee may vary depending on the type of pet, number of pets, and extended stays. Please be courteous and make us aware of any pets you plan to bring.
