Welcome! Our beautiful cottage is just a short 10 minute walk to the center of Los Olivos. Drive through the gates of our private 5 acre ranch, past the corrals, up the tree lined drive and enter our renovated cottage. The cottage used to be a hunting cabin back in the 1960's and still retains all of it's charm.
Enter into the living area with thick log walls where you'll find hardwood floors and a gas fireplace that open onto a dining area with a huge bay window. There's a complete kitchen with dark granite counters and marble floors, and a laundry/pantry room with your own washer & dryer. Tucked near the stairs is a fully equipped, renovated bathroom with a big, tiled shower and large fluffy towels. Off the dining area, there's a cozy bedroom with a queen size bed and views of the garden. Wander up the staircase and you will discover the perfect master-suite. Light the fireplace and sink into the queen size bed with down comforter for a fabulous night's sleep. Just steps away is the bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi tub framed by Carrara marble.
The front deck has a porch swing and a wrought-iron table & chairs with a BBQ around the side. Across the yard is a picnic table under bistro lights if you prefer to dine al fresco.
For entertainment, the cottage has a 32 inch flatscreen TV in the living area with a Roku box that has Netflix and Amazon (no live tv/cable).

This renovated cottage, complete with all new furnishings, beds and luxury linens offers two bedrooms (2 queens) each with flat screen tvs. The generously sized living room has a great room effect, including the dining area complete with mountain views and an adorable updated kitchen and vintage charm. Enjoy the front courtyard with gas BBQ and dining for 4 guests from this front unit of a cozy duplex. Four sand chairs, umbrellas and a cooler are provided for beach activities! Just steps away is Convivo Restaurant — fine dining on an ocean front patio. There is plenty of on-street parking in front of the cottage as well as a driveway. NOTE: Street cleaning Mon/Tues 1-3 p.m. Take a sunset cruise from the Harbor. BCycle offers electric/assist bike rentals around the corner from the cottage on both Milpas and Cabrillo.

Local Artisans display their wares on Sunday along the coastline. Loads of shopping & dining can be found along State Street. There are concerts at the Santa Barbara Bowl under the stars. The Waterfront Shuttle departs in front of The Santa Barbara Inn taking you along Cabrillo for under a buck while the Downtown Shuttle takes you up State Street. The Botanical Gardens are something to see in Santa Barbara and Montecito.

Montecito is a 3-4 minute drive south for some nice restaurants and shopping, also home to Butterfly Beach across from the Four Seasons hotel.

Charming Santa Ynez farmhouse. The farmhouse is situated on 4 acres and shared with dogs, cats, goats, geese, turkeys, tortoise, horses and chickens! We are on the property as well and in our own space. We can have as much or as little interaction as you would like.

The farmhouse is for two adults only, sorry no children.
You have approximately 750sf. with 2 separate sleeping areas to choose from. One is in the bedroom with a king size bed and the other is located in the living room. It is a cubby that has a queen size mattress in it. It is very cozy!
Kitchen amenities include, stove/oven, fridge, sink, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, blender and all the service ware you need! A Samsung 42" flat screen tv with Directv premium channels is provided for your viewing. A full bath with a shower and tub awaits you. There is also a workspace if you need to do some work while here. The place is airy and bright with lots of windows and doors to let in the natural light.
French doors open to a lovely private brick outdoor patio with BBQ, table & chairs and two lounge chairs. The patio/backyard faces a vegetable garden and is very private . During the day we have free roaming animals that you may encounter. We let the hens out about 7 or 8:00 am as they have an automatic door and they go to bed at dusk. The hens can make noise when laying an egg. We let the roosters out of the coop around 8:00am and they free range as well. The coop is out in a field away from the farmhouse by our barn and the roosters have a little sound proofing around where they sleep. But this is the country and you may hear ours and other neighbors roosters crowing or other animals. We also have pygmy goats, a dog 35 pounds, tortoise, geese, turkeys and horses along with ourselves on the property. This is a farm with animals that can make noises. There is an and pm feedings, it's a farm if animals are not your thing than we are not for you...
The farmhouse is for the paid guests only that book, no other sleep overs or other guests brought for entertaining etc. Booked/paid guests only. Sorry NO children or pets TWO GUESTS ONLY

We are located 2.5 miles from Los Olivos and downtown Santa Ynez. Santa Barbara is about 30 miles and Lake Cachuma is 13. The Danish town of Solvang is about 4 miles away. We are very close to some great winerys, Roblar, Beckman, & Bridlewood to name a few.

We do have wifi but it is satellite. It does allow you to do your basic internet searches and check email it is through a satellite dish which is the only option offered. This is nothing we can change as there are no other options offered in our location.

When weather and time permits bath and bed linens are dried on a clothes line.

Check in is 3pm and check out is 11am.

We do not do one night stays, sorry.

Parking is on our property in front of our garage for two cars. If you bring two cars please park one behind the other.

During rainy winter months outdoor furnishings may be covered or put away for the season.

This entire Area is in the PGE (power Co) jurisdiction and the have advised when deemed fit they can cut the electricity. This inconvenience is out of of our control. It has never happened as of yet but here is a heads up incase it does there is nothing we can do about it. This is life in a rural area.

The Neighborhood

We are located at the end of a gravel country lane. We have working ranches around us that have horses, dogs, chickens, tractors etc. This is the country!! We are a stones throw away from Los Olivos and downtown Santa Ynez. We are also located close to some great wineries, Roblar, Beckman, & Bridlewood just to name a few.

Getting around

The best way to get around is to drive. You can hire designated drivers if you are going to be drinking or wine tour companies. There are also bicycle rentals if you are feeling ambitious.

Other Things to Note

We put fresh organic eggs, oatmeal, coffee, and tea in the cottage for your breakfast. We will provide you with half n half if requested 24 hrs in advance. The water is well water and is drinkable.

This is a no smoking property due to fire hazards in a drought area.

The property is for paid booked guests only, no visitors, No Children, no add ons, no sleepovers, TWO GUESTS ONLY and paid guests only on property for insurance reasons no visitors.
This is a quiet area so if you come in late please be respectful of noise, especially between the quiet hours of 10p-8am. It is much appreciated.

We are in PGE jurisdiction and they have advised us when they deem fit they can cut our power/water off. No refunds/compensation for this as it is out of our hands..

This is our home, not motel 6, please be respectful of it and take care of it and keep it tidy. Your cleaning fee is for the bedding, linens and sanitizing the bathroom, the basics. You need to wash your own dishes and keep the place neat. I know for 99% of the people it is common sense and I appreciate that. This is just for those few who need it spelled out for them..

Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund.

We were honored to have our cottages (#248884 & #336069) chosen to fill the "Little Gem" category of Carpinteria Beautiful's annual Home and Garden Tour in April 2012. They were also featured in Carpinteria Magazine's winter 2010 edition.

But with the world-class dining available in our area you might not want to boil water.
The Santa Ynez Valley comprises the Danish town of Solvang, the western-themed town of Santa Ynez, Ballard, Buellton, and Los Olivos. Aside from tasting the many vintages of the Santa Barbara County wines the valley offers; biking, horseback riding (in fact, if you have a horse and want to bring them, we have room for two), hiking, fishing, live theatre, movie theatre, shopping, festivals, surfing and much more. Santa Barbara is a 40-minute drive and the beach is only 30 minutes.

- "My wife and I had an unexpectedly pleasant stay at this very comfortable apartment located in the middle of a small horse boarding facility located just far enough off the highway to make you feel like you are very far away from urban life. We booked the ranch escape at the last minute, thinking it was not what we really wanted but that it would make do. However, we enjoyed our stay so much that we will now put this property near the top of our list the next time we visit SB wine country! The property is bordered by long row of towering, columnar evergreens reminiscent of those you see in northern Italy. To the south is a view of the Santa Rita Hills. Though we're decidedly amateurs when it comes to birding, we identified a couple dozen bird species that live in the area by simply sitting on the patio each day and sipping our coffee or wine. Even the most distant wineries are only 20-30 minutes away, as are most of the good restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley. The apartment itself has a comfortable king size bed, a nice kitchen, and a wifi system more than adequate to stream our favorite TV shows at night. Although the owner has chosen to use a real estate company to manage the facility, she was actually quite accessible and friendly, and we enjoyed meeting her. We look forward to our next stay at the Ranch Escape and think most of you will enjoy it too."

Located just under a mile from the ocean, the 800 square foot cottage has a lovely living room with gas/wood burning fireplace, spacious full kitchen and a main bedroom with full bath. A second room with a desk and day bed can be used either as an office or second bedroom.2 sets of french doors in the living room open to a private large covered patio area and garden. Our bunkhouse will have you transported to the past but also the future. It is the original bunkhouse to our historic working ranch property. We love our bunkhouse because its old but modern. It's a cozy bunkhouse nestled at the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. It has been completely redone to bring old world charm to the present. Our property has goats, horses and chickens oh my! As you drive to our property you will leave the world behind and settle into the tranquility that the Santa Ynez Valley has to offer. We are located away from the hustle and bustle of life, the space will bring you peace and serenity. Whether you are having a girls wine weekend or just a get away you will not be disappointed. The outdoor space is also beautiful grasslands. We are surrounded by vineyards, horses and working ranches. It seems like you are worlds away but in reality you can visit any of the small towns the valley has to offer in less than 20 minutes. The ocean is 12 miles away and the Gaviota coast is a 30 minute drive. We truly are a beautiful corner of Santa Barbara County. We have the latest Wi-Fi available, along with a mesh router system, even though we have the best we can get it isn’t perfect all the time. Country living!!! Our internet service is Starlink. TV is a smart TV, just bring your own passwords. This is a non smoking property and we like to keep our neighbors happy with quiet time from 9pm to 9am. The property is also home to a Vital+ cold plunge set at 47° and an 8 person Sundance hot tub set to 104°.

The gourmet chef’s kitchen and business center provide every convenience, and your dedicated space is an inviting sanctuary of calm, with privacy ensured by its unique placement in the home's layout. Immerse yourself in nature where the soft ambient sounds from the garden ensure relaxation. You'll have 24-hour unrestricted access to your room, the main home's common areas, and your restroom. We observe quiet hours from 11 pm to 7 am to ensure everyone's peace.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY
As a young family, we love welcoming other parents to our space. However, the home is not ideal for children of a certain age who have a hard time following directions and/or can be destructive. The space is filled with original art, music gear, and high-tech healing therapies with delicate components. Also, the shared bathroom tub is not ideal for baths.

PET FRIENDLY
Pups under 25 lbs are welcome (pet fees apply per pet up to 2). Cats and bigger dogs are unfortunately not allowed due to space constraints and the safety of our children and dogs. We also cannot allow furry friends off leash in the gardens or inside the main residence. This is to protect the gardens (which we eat from), the chickens, and our young children/pups. They are allowed to roam freely in your room or enjoy an off-leash adventure in the nearby Modoc Nature Preserve 1-block away.

From the cottage, get ready for awe-inspiring views of the gardens, patios, and the Mesa that create an inspiring backdrop, regardless of your plans.

SHARED AMENITIES
Since the cottage does not have an attached bathroom (it is located inside the main residence and is shared with one other guest), we provide robes, shower caddies, and Public Goods toiletries for all of our guests and continuously ensure the bathroom remains sparkling clean between uses. You will have 24/7 access to your bathroom and the main home during your stay. You are welcome in any of the common areas. Cook a few meals in our gourmet chef's kitchen and enjoy our indoor and outdoor dining and lounge spaces. For your entertainment, board games, bikes, and beach gear are available. We prioritize your security with common area cameras and ease with self-check-in via Schlage Smart Locks.

BEDROOM

The Cottage is a two-unit Tiny House. So two separate units make up the Avo Cottage. Everything in the pictures displays the entire space you get with the cottage; there is no shared space. The cottage is on a farm and we do hope you take a nice stroll to say hello to some friendly goats and look out at our vegetable fields.

Guests have access to everywhere inside the cottage fence, but please do not enter the utility shed in the driveway without our permission. We do hope you take a small stroll to watch and feed the goats/lambs/chickens. If you'd like to walk into the vegetable fields, please ask us before, so we can show you the route to take.

Very large private outdoor garden with three zones to hang! Grass for the dogs! Features gas firepit, HAY lounge chairs and large grass area for playing. Completely fenced in for your dog and kiddos safety.

We have a great ocean view that you can see from the entry deck, when eating at the barstools and most of the living room.


THE COTTAGE

Our cottage was built in 1960s and though we have been slowly updating it there are normal quirks that all homes have after 60 years, if you prefer staying in brand-new or newly renovated modern homes this is not the place for you! We recently installed a beautiful new standing seam metal roof, when it rains it can be loud, we LOVE the noise at night but for some it can be an unwelcome sound.

Different strokes for different folks! We want to make sure your stay is exactly as you envision. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like further clarification on the cottage. Meanwhile crossing our fingers for the day Airbnb has virtual tours!



OWNERS & THE PROPERTY

This is a two-cottage property, each cottage and yard/garden is completely private with each having their own private entrance. The cottages themselves are connected via foundation but since we are on a hillside there are no-shared walls/ceilings, so no noise from your neighbors when inside cottage.

Both bungalows face the ocean, and this cottage is higher up on the hill so when on the front deck you may see/hear guests coming and going from the lower unit.

The beach is about a 10 minute walk. We provide beach towels and two small beach chairs to use during your stay.

Tucked into the foothills of Santa Barbara county, Summerland is quiet retreat from the typical city life. Summerland is not too far from the thrill, we are a only 5-10 minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara bustling state street, funk zone, pier and harbor.

The space
Nestled in the stunning estate of Gracewood Farm, Rose Cottage is an charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath detached private house of approximately 1150 square feet. A beautifully decorated and fully equipped interior awaits your visit. Since Rose Cottage is only used as a vacation rental, every possible feature beyond the standard ones (TVs, washer, dryer, iron, etc) has been carefully added to enhance your vacation experience. Some of the many additional amenities include: a Bose Wave IV with Bluetooth, indoor gas fireplace, picnic basket, Philosophy toiletries, multiple coffee makers and all coffee, selection of snacks and a generous welcome basket that includes a complimentary bottle of local wine.
Both the back yard and the front area have been lovingly landscaped and maintained by the owners. We take pride in providing our guests with some of the most stunning gardens in the Santa Ynez Valley. The large rear patio with gas BBQ includes comfortable outside dining furniture and garden seating. Rose Cottage at Gracewood Farm is separated from our main house by approximately 500 feet and has it's own parking spaces which are directly in front of the cottage.
Gracewood Farm is a gated, private 5 acre estate and the cottage sits near the front of our parcel. This provides both our guests and the hosts with treasured privacy. You will be given your own gate code to use at your convenience and also will be provided a small front gate remote opener with on your cottage key ring.

Guest access
Rose Cottage sits in it's own private space and has both front and back beautifully landscaped areas. Parking is in front of the cottage and is not covered. We will be happy to show you the rest of our property if desired.

Other things to note
1. We do not have good T-Mobile cell phone reception.
2. Our Wi-Fi is slower than speeds found in more urban areas.
3. Santa Barbara County requires us to collect a 12% Transient Occupancy Tax on stays less than 30 days. Our certificate number is 554 and a copy of the certificate is located in the cottage.
4. All guests must sign a copy of the House Rules as a requirement of my vacation rental permit with Santa Barbara County. Host reserves the right to verify ID of all guests at check in.

The space
This home offers a spacious and bright living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room perfect for shared meals and gatherings.

The main bedroom features a king-size bed and French doors that open to the back deck. The second bedroom includes a comfortable queen-size bed, also with French doors leading to the deck, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living.

The outdoor area boasts a spacious dining space with a barbecue and an outdoor shower, ideal for enjoying SB's sunny weather. A cozy and secluded front yard provides additional outdoor living space for relaxation.

The house comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Parking is available for a maximum of 2 cars in the driveway.

Guest access
The house is situated on a peaceful, small dead-end street, ensuring a quiet and private stay. The driveway can accommodate two cars parked in tandem (one behind the other).

For guests with larger vehicles, we are happy to provide a guest parking pass for additional convenience.
