For further jaunts, you can get in your car with easy access to major Central Coast attractions, such as the famous Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine country, Cayucos pier, Cambria's moonstone boardwalk and Montana de Oro.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is only 15 minutes by car, so parents can visit children at school and escape back to the coast easily.

In town (a short drive away or a long walk along the ocean) you can see Sea Otters and their babies. NEIGHBORHOOD
You will enjoy this perfect escape in our totally updated coastal cottage. Nestled in the quiet, historic Morro Heights you can escape from the hustle bustle of city life. You’ll hear very little traffic or neighborhood noise because you are tucked away behind our main house in your secluded setting. Walk 7 blocks to the Embarcadero/Bay, downtown is 3 blocks, and Morro Rock 1.5 beautiful miles.

SPACE
Inside you’ll quickly see the freshly updated decor and super clean Cottage. The 800 sq ft space is great for 1 or 2 couples or a small family. Both bedrooms are comfortable and cozy. Primary bedroom has a Queen bed, primary bath with tub/shower and 2nd smaller bedroom has a double bed. 1/2 bath is in the hallway. Large closets in each bedroom to store clothes and gear. The comfy living room is inviting to kick back, open up the windows and feel the breeze. We offer verified high-speed internet, Roku cable TV or sign into your streaming accounts, plenty of books, puzzles, cards and games for your entertainment. The fully equipped new kitchen has granite counters and appliances and is well stocked for your culinary needs.

The garden area offers ample seating on the porch to relax with early morning coffee or evening Happy Hour. Fresh herbs & veggies are sometimes available near the walkways to add to your meals. We offer private off-street parking next to the Cottage with easy walkability to the entrance.

GETTING AROUND
You can take off on foot anytime from 'The Cottage'. We are on the west side of Hwy 1, so easy access to groceries, library, downtown, Farmers Market, restaurants, wine tasting, Embarcadero shops and Scout Coffee are all just a few blocks away.

Public transportation is available from Morro Bay throughout the County, also Morro Bay Transit and Morro Bay Trolley (seasonal) locally.

ACTIVITIES
Daytime, enjoy boogie boarding or surfing North of the Rock, taking paddle board or sailing lessons in the bay, watching marine life, rent a kayak, take a whale watch tour and don’t miss the otters! When you’re finished head over to our favorite afternoon spot, Dockside Too, on the fishing docks for all types of fish, wine or beer and live music every day.

Visit the Museum of Natural History, Morro Bay Natural estuary, go birding in the estuary. Hike Black Hill, Morro Dunes trails, Estero Bluffs, Harmony Headlands or Montana de Oro Bluff Trail. Drive 30 minutes to tour Hearst Castle or see the Elephant Seals or a bit further for the beginning of the Big Sur Coastline.

Check Out the new pedestrian/bike bridge that will take you to the North end of Morro Bay from Morro Rock area or head on out to Morro Rock for a great morning walk. Evenings, stroll 7 blocks to the Embarcadero for Happy Hour fish tacos at Dutchman's Fish House, or take a dinner cruise.

When it’s time to turn in, leave your windows open and listen to the surf, barking seals and foghorns in the distance, yet not overpowering – can’t beat that!

- "Cozy but with a yard, hot tub and grill! Very comfortable!" - "My husband and I stayed at this cottage for a week. It was a wonderful experience. It had everything we needed and then some. Next time I will know I will not have to bring as much as I did. It has a full pantry, spice cabinet, freezer and all the utensils, dishes, pots and pans, and linens you ever need. And it has an amazing tv and sound system. My only suggestion for an improvement would be a quick start guide for the Roku TV system. Having never used such a set up it took sometime to figure it out. There were 5 or 6 remotes and we are not technically savvy. We were there celebrating my 70th birthday and it was wonderful that we could bring all 3 of our critters. We have an 8 pound dog and 2 birds. I will say Barron was very accommodating when I had a scare with one of my birds. It all turned out with a happy ending but he was willing to extend my stay if needed. I am truly thankful for that. The cottage is well furnished and comfortable. While I did not use the hot tub but can see how it would be a major plus. All in all it was a wonderful experience and the cottage was a big reason why. Thank you Barron for putting such thought and effort into making it as comfortable as home is. We will be back to visit your cottage again."

An oasis In the heart of Old Town with beautiful gardens, fountains and birds. Loaded with charm and flooded with light! Built in the 20's, this home has been carefully restored and updated without sacrificing the special esthetic of the period. From the original clear Douglas fir floors, antique light fixtures, wide floor and window moldings to the vintage gas pot bellied stove (fireplace), the large bathroom with soaking tub and pedestal sink. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a black iron headboard, antique oak highboy dresser and vintage chandelier. The second bedroom also features a queen bed with a period headboard and additional vintage touches. The kitchen is sunny and bright with hand painted tiles and windows that look out onto the garden fountain and bird feeders.
And the location couldn't be better! Just one block from downtown shops, restaurants and the vintage Bay Theater. Only 2 blocks from the Embarcadero and the waterfront! Just a short walk to the Morro Bay Aquarium, to rent kayaks or go whale watching. You can even see Morro Rock from the front porch and yard. Sit under the gazebo with morning coffee or a glass of wine, looking out to the bay and listening to the songbirds. This is a truly special place.

ABOUT THE SPACE:
This comfortable 2 bedroom cottage has a full kitchen with dining area. Home is private, sitting back from the street, yet is still very conveniently located just half a block from the Harbor and Embarcadero. There is a good sized fenced back yard with a large patio, horseshoe pit, and charcoal BBQ to enjoy (please bring your own charcoal). A patio table large enough for 6 allows dining, game playing, or just casual lounging while on vacation. This home also has its own private washer and dryer (no coins needed). Both bedrooms have memory foam king beds and the living room has a pull out sofa (double/full) bed. The bathroom is a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and is located between and adjoins the two bedrooms. Home has one assigned parking space. Free public parking lot is located across the street, and free street parking is also available. The garage is locked and is not available to guests.

Kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to whip up a delicious meal. A dual Keirug (singles and 12 cup pot) is available for your caffeine needs. Please note that there is no dishwasher. If cooking isn’t your specialty the Morro Bay Embarcadero is just steps away and has many different dining options available.

Dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, basic cooking supplies, spices, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper and laundry detergent are all provided for your convenience. You may need to purchase additional supplies for larger parties or extended stays.

Also, we provide all of the following freshly laundered linens for your stay: towels, sheets, pillowcases, pillows, down alternative comforters, and blankets.

A a pack n play with mattress and linens, a booster/highchair seat, and Bumbo chair is available for guest use.

We also have your trip to the beach covered! We offer a folding wagon, 4 folding chairs, 2 folding low beach chairs, 1 small and 1 large ice chest, beach blanket, umbrella, and beach towels.

• Maximum occupancy of 6 is strictly enforced (Occupancy greater than 6 will result in immediate cancellation with no refund and additional $500 fee)

• The home does not have a garbage disposal, so please do not put food down the drain
• Please park only one vehicle in the assigned parking space in front of the garage. Multiple vehicles are not allowed to tandemly park in that parking space outside of the garage as it could block neighboring spaces.
• Swing set is designed for kids age 3-8
• We do not offer cancellations, refunds, reschedules, or credits of any kind for weather conditions as these are beyond our control. We strongly suggest that guests purchase travel insurance.

Enjoy your own entrance and 300sqft courtyard to our private detached guest house, a 1932 garage converted into a modern bedroom with its own private, full bathroom. Plush, luxurious carpet throughout the suite. Bed is a top-of-the-line convertible sofa made by Sealy. Bed is 78" x 60" (Queen size mattress). Super simple to operate and can double as a lounger while you enjoy the theater-like experience of the LG 65” 4K OLED TV with immersive LG Bluetooth sound bar. A space heater will keep you more than comfortable, warm and cozy for the cooler nights and foggy mornings.

The back of the room has been turned into a workspace meant designed for tech workers looking for a change of scenery. Featuring a Samsung 43” ultrawide 32:10 QHD monitor, Logitech c900 1080p webcam and Bose speakers connected to a docking station for you to plug yourself into while day trading meme stocks, analyzing multiple spreadsheets or watching YouTube videos while you tune out the 5th zoom meeting of the day. The live-edge oak desk came from a nearby grove and was made by a local carpenter. Stay comfortable with an ergonomic chair for long periods of work. Insanely fast fiber internet speeds available for the most demanding of workloads (or gaming).

Bathroom has also been renovated and features an open closet area to hang your clothes and store luggage. Kohler fixtures throughout with fresh linens and towels for your stay. If you’ve forgotten anything, check the medicine cabinet! We try to stock all the essentials you may have forgotten.

Check out the retro-inspired fridge stocked with creamers along with a coffee maker and local Coffee to enjoy a cup while enjoying the coastal air, seagulls, and the distant foghorn. Pay close attention, on clear nights the sea lion's bark sometimes carries if you leave the window open. Night times are eerily quiet as you hear the waves crash at high tide against the shore just a half mile away.

Laundry is available within the guest house courtyard area (Green door in the photos). Please know we may use this laundry area often during the daytime hours, (we have two children) but it is a separate exterior entrance. If you'd like to use it, just let us know and we’ll delay so you can wash whatever you need.

You have the cozy courtyard to yourself while staying at the Shack. This is a great area for dogs to catch some sun, enjoy a cup of coffee, and breath some fresh ocean air.

About us:

**We are a family of 4 with 2 small dogs. Our children are young (2 and 3) and you may occasionally hear them during your stay in the common area of the backyard, but they will not have access to the courtyard unless walking through with myself or my wife to access laundry or the paddle board. Our two dogs, an Aussie and Dachshund, may bark if they meet you or your dog, but rest assured, our yard is fenced in and they are more afraid of you than you would be of them and just need to say hello. My wife stays at home raising our children and I work in the cannabis industry.

You'll have access to the entire cottage with its own entrance as well as all the new decks.

-Like nearly every VRBO listing, we have Ring security doorbells at the entrances and cameras on the outside of the property at the perimeter, and at the front of the shop and the top deck.

- "We could see the ocean from the yard. Angie and her family have worked very hard to create a backyard space with views that is fun and entertaining for the whole family. The kids loved crossing the bridge, ringing the bell, playing with trucks and tetherball. The hot tub was not over-chlorinated and was a nice end to a long day on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, though we were mostly in town and at the beach. We had everything we needed. Angie is the sweetest and you can tell she really loves people and hosting. Peaceful beach cottage in the desirable Morro Heights neighborhood of Morro Bay. Spectacular view of the water, Los Osos hills, and the bay. Backs onto State Park and golf course in forested like setting. The cottage is a picturesque place to relax, drink a glass of local wine while enjoying amazing sunsets. 10 minute walk to 2 restaurants and bars. 5 minutes to hiking in state park, kayaking. 20 minute walk to embarcadero. This is an original 1949 bungalow that we renovated extensively with new plumbing, electrical, windows, bathroom and flooring. The kitchen is the original charmer with single basin sink.

- "We spent the week of Thanksgiving at this charming cottage on the hill up from the beach. We walked or ran down along the Embarcadero and out to the rock every day at least once. The views from the cottage are amazing, and we sat in the sun on the front deck every afternoon, multiple days included BBQ oysters that we picked up from Morro Bay Oyster Company. Though it is small, the space is well laid out and comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied, and the furnishings maximize the space. The bed is really comfortable."

Charming cottage near the beach (less than 10 min. Walk). Perfect for that quiet getaway or a good midpoint for multiple beach activities. Just minutes from Cayucos, San Luis Obispo, Cambria and shell beach. The cottage has a private back yard garden with cozy Adirondack chairs as well as two lounge chaise chairs, and a deck with picnic table and chairs. Gas BBQ. The front yard has four Adirondack chairs, all with amazing views of the succulent garden, perfect for relaxing, bird watching....

The master bedroom has a pillow soft queen bed and down comforter. The guest bedroom has a full size bed and a twin bed.- wonderful garden views from the window. Both bedrooms have walk-in closets.

The living space is open and airy. Two large picture windows overlooking the succulent garden, very picturesque. A wood burning fireplace in the living room. A nice projector for nighttime movies. A supply of reading books, movies and games for the family. Plenty of comfortable seating.

The kitchen has granite counter tops, full size stainless steel appliances. Fully equipped.

The dining room seats six.

Laundry room - full size washer and dryer. Front loading, he detergent only please. Indoors.

Bathroom marble counter top, bath and shower. All linens and bath towels provided.

The home has hardwood floors throughout except the bath, kitchen and laundry rooms - which have slate.

Beautiful wall photography throughout the home. These are from my various trips and of course the central coast.

One roll-away bed available. A few beach towels and beach umbrella available for your use.

It also is close to many other activities such as Hearst Castle, the Elfin Forest, San Luis Obispo, and to Morro Bay's own embarcadero and downtown. We had a wonderful trip." - "The cottage is nice, kichen is super well equipped, and there are two little spots to sit outside (front and back). It's a little farther from the beach than we had imagined (from one of the pictures in the listing it looks closer) but it was (as stated in the info) an easy 10 minute walk. We were a little taken aback by the request to strip the beds and sweep the floors -- seemed a bit much since you pay a cleaning fee as well. But all in all it was a nice stay -- and a great launching point for amazing hiking and beachcombing."

VRBO is new to us and we're trying to get used to it so thank you ahead of time for your patience. However, we are not new to hosting, we have been Superhost using Air b n b for many years.

The house is one of the older ones in Morro Bay built in the 1950's. We renovated it to reflect the feel & style of my parents'/grandparents' homes on Corfu Island in Greece.

We are the last house at the end of the street on a cul-de-sac. Hiding up in the hills in a very quiet neighborhood, our house is open, overlooking the Pacific and next to a Eucalyptus grove and hundreds of acres of farm space.

There is a new 4 person hot tub, propane fire pit, 6 decks going up the hill, the top 3 have ocean views as well as another deck off of the family room that faces the ocean with seating and the natural gas bbq. There is another propane fire pit on the top deck with a swing egg chair and 2 large club chairs.

We have a play area for the kids with a slide, rope bridge that connects to a tree house ("The Flybridge") which has a ship's wheel, compass, throttle.... also have corn hole and tether ball.

There is no access to the closets (they are full and locked) but there are dressers and fold down valet hangers in the bedrooms to hang up some of your clothes.
Sorry for the lack of storage space, but the view of the Pacific makes up for it.

Increíble ocean views from the deck and bedroom window! Walk or drive down to a local taco shop for yummy food, or stop by the market to pick up a few things to make a great meal in the fully equipped kitchen! You will love our area with great wildlife (birds, wild turkeys, sea otters and seals), mom and pop’s restaurants and shops. Morro Bay has a small theater, paddle boarding, kayaking and great surfing!

The driveway is steep and guests should park on the street. The unit is also located down approximately 15 stairs. It is NOT wheelchair accessible, nor would it be comfortable for someone who has limited mobility. It’s an awesome little place located in a quiet neighborhood with great ocean views at an affordable price.

The open living/dining area features a comfortable couch, accent chair and coffee table. The dining area has a stainless work table with stools. The kitchen has numerous cabinets and storage space as well as apt sized appliances. All new, the area is a work of art with pops of color and unique art pieces. The stools are even made of skateboards!

The living area ties into the bedroom/bath with a opaque glass barn door. The queen sized bed has a new foam mattress, reading lights, dresser, California closet with lots of space, and smart TV. The ensuite bath features a shower, vanity, commode and lots of storage for your bath necessities. The bedroom also has a full size W/D closet.

At about 500 sq feet, this unique Casita packs a big punch. Spacious, with expert use of space, it is bright and inviting. All new construction, it really is stunning.
