Enjoy the best of the Cape Winelands in this cosy 2 bedroom (4 people) farm cottage. Situated between two big dams, the cottage offers beautiful views stretching as far as Table Mountain on a sunny day.

We allow catch-and-release Bass fishing and you are welcome to take a stroll around the farm to see the cows and many calves that roams next to the dams.

The farm is 75 km from Cape Town International Airport and 6 km outside Wellington - the closest town.

The space
Enjoy cosy farm cottage living in the Cape Winelands, 6 km outside Wellington, situated on a working wine farm.

The cottage used to be our daughter's horse stable and were renovated into a cosy farm cottage with 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a cosy kitchen, living room and outside decks facing mountain and vineyard view along with a small splash pool. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and in the 2nd bedroom we have 2 single beds. Both bedrooms has cupboards and are spacious. Quality linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stovetop, microwave, medium size air-fryer and fridge/freezer (no oven). Coffee, tea and milk will also be provided. Our farm's water is 100% safe to drink from the tap and are pumped from a borehole on the farm.

The bathroom is fully equipped with a shower, bath with soaps, a basin and toilet.

Outside on the back (smaller) or front (bigger) deck area you can enjoy a relaxing farm atmosphere, light up a fire and have a braai (barbecue) whilst sipping on the award-winning wines from the Wellington wine region. Wood can be purchased and a grid and the necessary braai utensils are provided.

There's a small splash pool to the side of the cottage that guests can enjoyed on hot sunny days. Even though it is not a deep pool, adult supervision is necessary and no kids are allowed to use the pool unattended. Please use the pool at own risk.

There’s ample parking and open space around the cottage for you to enjoy. We welcome you to walk around and ask us about anything you would like to know about our farm. Our house is about 100m away in case of an emergency or any questions. You will still have your own privacy at the cottage.

Please note that this is a working farm and the dams are open. No swimming allowed in the dams please.

Kids are always welcome, but need to be supervised at all times. Our farm's staff occasionally walk up and down the gravel road to our shed behind the cottage - you are most welcome to say hi (they are mostly Afrikaans speaking but can understand English).

Guests have access to the entire cottage and are allowed to walk around the farm to see the beauty of the Boland.

Other things to note
There are open dams and cattle on the farm. Kids need to be supervised at all times.

We are not pet friendly unfortunately.

Olifantskop is a working farm where we have a team of workers that has been working with us on this farm for decades. They can all speak Afrikaans fluently and most can understand and speak a bit of English if you want to greet them or ask questions about the farm.

Be on the lookout for the Spotted Eagle Owls (or Oortjiesuil as we call them in Afrikaans) early evening - and if you are lucky you'll see their owlets hopping around in Spring time when they are big enough to start coming down the trees. We also have Barn Owls although they are sometimes harder to hear and see. They have big open round faces compared to the Spotted Eagle owls who are mostly recognisable from their pointy ear-feathers.

In the dams there are Bass and Tilapia - you are welcome to pack your rods and gear for catch and release fishing.
