- "This hotel is a restored mansion built in 1909 for Alfred Vanderbilt's mistress. Such a funny origin for a beautiful inn! Our suite was beautiful, with 15 foot ceilings and lots of amenities. There is tea in the dining room, which was a marvelous experience. Fireplaces, beautiful furnishings, lots of places to sit and relax in the common areas. The fitness room is fine for a small hotel. The staff are exemplary, from our concierge who arranged reservations and made recommendations on things to do to our charming server at tea, to the desk staff and valet. Thank you!"

- "beds were super comfortable and the hotel/room was very clean. you could see the beach from the hotel but it was a 35-40 min walk on a sidewalk through a busy part of town. the oddities were the hotel required a $17/day resort fee that was no where in the listing and just isn't a great way for the hotel to start a stay with your guests, and that the shuttle to the beach that the hotel offered only took you there, it did not pick up from the beach. seems a bit silly especially since the other shuttle drop off locations have to pass the beach on the way back to the hotel..."

Fresh crisp line and fluffy pillows. We were the closest room the elevator and did not hear it at all which is awesome! Kristopher K who checked us in was lovely, and he sent us a text to make sure we were happy with our room. A+ customer service. A few small cons: hvac sort of loud. I think this is because the style of this place is a lot of cement, exposed pipes, etc. This did not bother us because we like this sort of white noise when we sleep but some may not. We did find a few things to be a bit dusty in our room - lamps, tv remote, etc which was a little strange. I do wish they had smart TVs so you can pull up your streaming apps. We can't wait to return here on our next trip to Rhode Island."
