Our home is located on a quiet neighborhood in the middle of downtown Midtown Tallahassee. This separate guest quarters has its own patio which overlooks our swimming pool. We are 3 miles from FSU Campus and only 1/4 mile from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. We are less than 1 mile from Governors Square Mall and just minutes from great restaurants and shopping. Toward the end of the Civil War, the area of St. Marks was strategically important to the Confederate Army for delivery of supplies and to the Union Army trying to capture the capital, Tallahassee. The Union regiment, which came ashore here at the Lighthouse, was repulsed at Natural Bridge (where the St. Marks River goes underground), but not before destroying several bridges and the salt factory, essential for preserving food for the Confederate troops.

Our cabin is a mere 4 miles from the Lewiswood Farm, a popular wedding venue, Mention you are having or attending an event at the farm for a discount in our rate.

Note: The Seineyard in Woodville was sold and is now the Driftwood. Have eaten there many times since changing ownership and it has been excellent. The Seineyard is still open in Crawfordville if you wish to drive closer to the coast.

Before we approve your pet, we must know your pet's breed, age and size and if he/she will be on good behavior if you have to leave him/her alone in the Retreat? A pet fee of $75 will be charged upon approval. Our concern is that your pet is safe and so is our Retreat.

This is our second stay here and we know we will be back again. We so appreciate the beauty and natural setting of this place. In our two visits here, we have enjoyed seeing deer, owls (right outside our windows) and numerous Florida birds hanging out on the river.

Well, what can we say except the location was superb. The interior design is a testament to all your hard work and imagination. Spotlessly clean. So tranquil and relaxing sitting on the dock in the morning.
The beds are some of the most comfortable we have had the pleasure to sleep in. The nighttime chorus (of the crickets and frogs) is something we will always remember. Great fun trying to catch the uncooperative mullet in the river, but we did catch one at the Seineyard restaurant in Crawfordville and it was mind blowing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the St. Marks Retreat. We paddled our canoes on the St. Marks, Sopchoppy, Wacissa and Aucilla rivers. All lovely. Tons of birds, otters, alligators and turtles. We also went hiking at Leon Sinks and biking on the St. Marks Trail.
This cabin is delightful- quiet, peaceful and very clean. There are more rivers and trails to enjoy, so we will be back.

This was our first sort of wilderness vacation, and the Retreat didn’t let us down. Very serene and relaxing. Spotted a very large owl outside the cabin (approximately 2 ½ feet tall)- very wild and scruffy looking. We saw many deer on the road coming in and more up close in the wildlife refuge. We also spotted a black bear in the Apalachicola National Forest.
We enjoyed the good fresh seafood at the Seinyard Restaurant. The cabin was indeed clean, quaint and comfortable. The location and atmosphere proved to be the natural and relaxing stetting we desired.

What a lovely place. Everything was very nice. You’ve taken the time to make this a truly neat visit. Our children enjoyed netting the fish and playing in the water. Saw lots of birds, spiders, fish, deer. I even got up extra early just to enjoy the peaceful setting.

Looking for a place to relax and truly get away from it all? Welcome to Wakulla Beach! Located 3 miles down a dirt road, this coastal cottage is tucked deep inside the St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge. The surrounding wilderness ensures clear skies, dark nights, and peaceful solitude.

Unobstructed views of the Gulf allows for quiet relaxation on the large screened porch. French doors in the living room and bedrooms ensure that all rooms enjoy the view of the bay. If star gazing and a good book sounds like an ideal quiet night, you will be right at home!

Our cottage is almost 100 years old and it is tiny! We have a clawfoot tub with a hand-held shower attachment. We have central AC/heat and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We do not have a dishwasher or cable TV. We do have a TV antenna, which gives great access to basic channels. We also have satellite internet (Starlink) that can be used on our smart tv with your favorite apps.

Our house is the epitome of the real Florida. It's quaint and rustic, with a great view! We are surrounded by the St. Marks wildlife refuge, which has 83,000 acres of conservation land. This means there's a host of animals nearby, but we're also a bit off the grid. Cell service can be spotty, there's no cable access, and we're on well water, which in our area is salty. We do provide purified drinking water for our guests.

Wakulla Beach is a short 5-10 minute walk away.

Red snapper season open June 1st!! This two bedroom, one bath beach house is on a canal in Oyster Bay with floating boat dock for mooring your boat and a view of the Gulf of Mexico and sleeps four adults. Offers easy access to fishing by boat, kayak or off dock. The bedrooms are king and full-size beds. There is a porch off the back for sitting. Truly Amazing River Views from every room! 3000 square feet of Pecky Cedar Walls! Sorry, there is NO DOCK at the property, but if you want to bring your own boat or rent a boat, there are wet slips within a mile. The Sunrises and Sunsets are breathtaking! Magical Moon and Star Gazing at night! Snuggle in front of the fireplace or enjoy lounging on the deck, watching the fish jump, and other wildlife. Beautiful Ochlockonee Bay Bike trails are right at the front of the neighborhood. Great Restaurants and Beaches are a short drive away. Kayak and Canoe rentals nearby. 2 bedrooms, plus an additional Queen bed, a full bed and a single bed in open upstairs area. The beach butler lift is out of service. Sleeps 9.

Groomed walking path surrounds the lake with an island that's accessed from an arched foot bridge.

Fishing is allowed and no license is required since the lake is privately owned. There are several species of Bass and freshwater sunfish (including Bluegill).

No smoking inside dwellings but smoking is allowed outside.

No unauthorized parties. Please do not invite any guests to the property that are not included in the reservation without advance permission from the owner. No boom boxes or amplification devices allowed.

Our 12-acre site is comprised of 3 homesites. In addition to the main house and cabin we have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage that is also used for short term rental and shares a water well with the cabin and is also available on VRBO. All of the sites are secluded and none of the homesites are visible to each other, or any other home for that matter :)

Twisted Pine borders several thousand acres of undeveloped lands. It's an animal and nature lover's paradise and home to so many of the amazing flora & fauna native to the region. The cabin is nestled in trees such as Magnolia, Cypress, Pine, Oak, Catawba, and Hickory. It's too numerous to name all the wildlife that we've seen but a short list includes armadillo's, opossums, squirrels, raccoons, Cooter and Florida softshell turtles that make the place their permanent home in addition to the abundance of critters we've seen passing through including bobcat, gray fox, black bear, alligators and otters.

Birding at Twisted Pine is INCREDIBLE! Birds attracted to woods, water and meadow can be viewed. A partial list includes owl, hawk, eagle, kite, vulture, egret, anhinga, great blue heron, goose, turkey, wild ducks -including wood ducks, cardinal, bluebird, titmice, jay, chickadee, wren, dove, woodpecker, finch, robin, crow, sparrow, grackle, mockingbird, oriole, painted bunting, hummingbird, towhee....... The Barred Owl calls are unforgettable, and the owls can best be seen at dawn or dusk/early night.

We try to preserve the natural biodiversity of the site overall. We do mow the path around the lake and the meadow a few times a year. We have never stocked the lake, but we have installed aerators to increase oxygen levels and improve the water quality. While we have no structural flood plain issues and we do have a large open meadow between the homesites that slopes down to the lake, please keep in mind we don't have groomed lawns. During times of high precipitation, the lake level can rise, the canal can fill, the access to the bridge may have standing water in front of it and there may be a few areas on the driveway with short-term standing water. The driveway has recently been rebuilt, is in very good condition and has a solid base with no mud so a 2-wheel drive vehicle can easily drive through any short-term standing water on the driveway.

We keep Italian honeybees, domestic ducks and chickens and have various fruit and nut producing trees and shrubs including Meyer lemons, blueberries, mulberries and a very small vineyard as well as vegetable and herb gardens. Our domestic fowl are penned for their safety and located on the other side of the lake.

We enjoy sharing our seasonal bounty and fresh eggs, honey from our bees and homemade snacks featuring homegrown or seasonal ingredients will typically be awaiting your arrival in addition to the staples we keep stocked including premium hot beverages, granola bars, toaster pastries, oatmeal, popcorn etc.

Tucked back on a private wooded lot in a neighborhood that runs along the banks of the beautiful Spring-fed Wakulla River. Conveniently close to parks, the wildlife refuge, the beach and Tallahassee, there is so much to see and do within 15-30 minutes; but once you arrive, you may not want to leave this charming cottage!

Enjoy morning coffee on one of the many decks and dine outdoors or enjoy family time on the porch high up in the trees. This immaculate home is just a short 4 minute walk to the river where two kayaks await you for a morning paddle where you will see turtles, the occasional manatee, egrets and herons.

The pool area is partially screen enclosed, Unfortunately, due to tornadoes, we lost some screen panels. We are in the process of having these ripped panels replaced. The pool however, will be clean upon your arrival. Distance to FSU is 5.5 mile and about a 15 minute drive. You won't find a property on 3 acres with this level of amenities close to the university. It is worth the extra 5-10 minutes of drive time for a superior stay!

Not all guests use the swimming pool when visiting, so we don't include heating the pool in our reservation prices. Please let us know in advance if you would like the pool to be heated and for what specific days. The pool may be heated by request up to 80 degrees. In the months of APRIL-AUGUST the pool may be heated to 85 degrees for a fee of $100 per day with a 2-day minimum. The fee to heat the pool to 80 degrees in the months of SEPT-MARCH is $150 per day with a 2-day minimum. If desired, we charge $10 per degree per day for every degree above 80 For reference 80 degrees feels refreshing at first, but feels warm after a few minutes of submersion. No charge for heating the hot tub, we just ask that the cover is in place when not in use.

We are dog friendly for well behaved house trained dogs. Limit of 4 dogs, We charge a fee of $75 per dog per reservation/stay.. This fee is requested separately from the nightly rate if it was not included in the booking reservation. Typically, we wait until check in, just in case you decide to leave your dog(s) behind!

Our cleaners obtain digital proof after cleaning and prior to each guests' arrival assuring that everything is clean and in place for a wonderful stay.

We do request that your group demonstrate utmost consideration for other guests/the neighborhood during your whole stay. NO loud/crazy music or noises at any time.

Event policy
NO events allowed. For violations, the hosting will be terminated immediately and NO refund will be granted for the rest of your stay. You may be asked to pay any potential loss due to your misbehavior.

Pet policy:
Max of 2 pets; fee applied. Must be counted when booking, including visitor’s pets. Pets cannot leave in the room unattended or properly caged.

Located in the center of the county and right off of Highway 319. We are near to the beach, rivers, kayaking, bird watching, fishing, dining, great views, state parks .Tallahassee Airport is 35 minutes away. Wakulla Springs Lodge is 15 minutes drive. Downtown Tallahassee and FSU stadium are 45 minutes away. We are affordable because some of the house amenities are shared. For example, the kitchen area and bathrooms. All guests are responsible to clean up what you use in the house.

Our guesthouse is unique yet cozy, very clean and safe! The house is shared with other guests. We expect guests to clean up what the use. Your private room has a full size bed, luxury linen, beautiful decor. Please take care and respect the property.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish lake front space. Featuring a private bedroom+bathroom with queen size bed, 55" smart TV (with Netflix & easy access to inputs), and full size mini-fridge. Southwood is well known for being incredibly peaceful and safe. There is a spacious greenway right next to the house. There is easy access to beautiful nature trails, parks, pickleball/basketball/sand volleyball courts, and baseball fields. Walking distance to Town Center for food and shopping.

Modern living area located in Southwood, walking distance from Town Center. There are a huge variety of restaurants to choose from. Canopy Road Cafe, El Jalisco, Subway, Hasu Sushi Grill, Florida Wing Factory, China Wok, Yasou Mediterranean Grill, and Donut Kingdom are a few of the options all located within a mile of the residence. Need to shop? Publix shopping center is in the same area for convenience as well.
If you enjoy scenery, take a walk down the many nature trails Southwood has to offer, or just relax outside and watch the sunset over the lake.
There are 2 parks in Southwood, complete with playgrounds, basketball, pickleball, sand volleyball courts, and baseball fields.
