The main living area has beamed vaulted ceiling, underfloor heating and wooden floors. New designer kitchen with induction hob, granite worktops, full size dishwasher, and Bosch ovens. Bar area with stools, and extendable dining table, with seating for 12. The pool is new with bifold doors and is separately accessed so can be securely locked for safety.
Sleeping arrangements, sleeps up to 14 plus room plus z beds if required. Five large bedrooms, four bathrooms. Two bedrooms have extra single beds, three superking/twin. All of the double beds can be superking or twin bed options. Two of the bedrooms are across the courtyard from Brooklands Cottage. There is also an additional studio room with kitchen area and double bed for additional 2 people.

There is ample private parking for 12 cars.

Families: Our accommodation is very suitable for children of all ages. With the use of the indoor heated pool, gardens and plenty of space.

Challenge Cottage, offered by Laura Lye Holiday Lets, is an appealing period holiday cottage close to Arundel Castle and the centre of town which sleeps 2-4 guests. The cottage is bursting with all the charm of a genuine 18th century cottage but has been carefully refurbished to be both pretty and comfortable.

Guests will enjoy the attractive living room with electric wood burner with flame and comfy seating for 4. There is a smart TV and wifi. The living room leads onto a country kitchen with oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a small table in the kitchen which seats up to 4 guests. To the rear of the cottage the charming courtyard garden with outside seating area enables guests to enjoy the sunshine on a warm day.

Please be aware that Arundel cottages are notorious for quite steep stairs and this cottage is no exception…..and it also has slightly restricted head room right at the top of the second floor stairs. Therefore this cottage is not suitable for those with any sort of mobility issues and children under 12 are not allowed. No pets are allowed.

There is no private parking at the cottage but there are 1 hour parking spots directly opposite the cottage. For longer term parking there is a car park at the lido (less than a minute’s walk from the house) tucked away behind the houses opposite or if you prefer to park for free this can be done by parking on Mill Road beyond the castle.

There is so much to do in Arundel town itself that you will find that you don’t need a car unless you want to sightsee further afield. There is the majestic Arundel Castle to be explored as well as Arundel Cathedral, the museum, Arundel Lido, mini golf, tennis, bowls and river trips all within a 5 minute walk of Challenge Cottage. For those who enjoy shopping there are wonderful antique shops all over town and gift shops in both the High Street and Tarrant Street. Arundel is a favourite base for Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

There are an abundance of cafes and restaurants all within a few minutes’ walk and a fabulous deli and butcher just around the corner as well as a general provisions’ store a few doors down from the cottage.

Set on one of the prettiest roads in Arundel no 27 Maltravers is ideally located, being a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town. With old beams befitting its age, a working fireplace in the kitchen and a spacious south-facing terraced garden, this is the quintessential English country cottage. Superbly decorated and fitted out to a high standard, this family home not only offers comfort and style, but is also amazingly spacious for a two-bedroomed cottage and is a wonderful addition to the Laura Lye Holiday let portfolio of Arundel Cottages.

The large kitchen at the front of the house is well-equipped and has a working open fire. The French doors at the rear of the spacious living/dining room lead to the south-facing garden which gets sun for most of the day. The path to the side of the garden, separated from it by an ornate ironwork fence, leads to a twitten (rear passageway) to the town centre. Please note the garden is private but the pathway is also for the use of the next-door neighbour. There is a small drop of approximately a foot between terrace and path so do be aware of this if you are thinking of coming with very young children. The garden is terraced in stone and brick, is decorated with many ceramic pots, and has various levels, so guests should be aware that young children should be closely supervised.

Off the large landing upstairs are the two beautiful bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath and shower. The master bedroom has a super-king bed which can be split into two single beds and bedroom two has a double bed. Both rooms are charming and spacious and have a wonderful cottagey feel.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but they are not allowed on the furniture, upstairs or to be left unattended at the property. There is a charge of £27.50 per dog for stays up to 7 days and £27.50 for each subsequent week.

Please leave the house in a clean and tidy condition at the end of your stay with all washing up done and bins out. There is a travel cot at the house if you need one but you will need to bring all sheets and bedding to suit your baby.

Arundel is a 20 minute drive from Goodwood - famous for horse racing at Glorious Goodwood and motor racing at the Festival of Speed and Glorious Goodwood.

This holiday home is absolutely phenomenal. The home was originally designed by Joseph Hansom who designed the Arundel Cathedral and mirrored his style in these three exquisite townhomes. From the back side of the property, the windows look up towards the grand cathedral on the top of the hill, and at night, the Cathedral is illuminated for guests to see!

The home comprises of 3 floors. The ground floor consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen and outdoor courtyard. The kitchen contains a washer/dryer, wine fridge and dishwasher for guests to use. The dining room has an extendable table so will be large enough to seat 6 when extended. There is a half bath on the ground floor.

The first floor contains the master bedroom with shower room ensuite. This bedroom has a gorgeous view of the cathedral, a unique decorative fireplace and a king bed. There is another king bedroom located next door, with another beautiful fireplace.

As it name may suggest, 'The Bakery' used to be the local bakery for the town of Arundel. In fact, the original bakery oven still exists in the kitchen of this unique property. ‘The Bakery’ is grade II listed building located at the top of the high street in Arundel providing accommodation for 6 guests. There are two bedrooms upstairs with king size beds and two full bathrooms. There is also an additional sofa bed located on the ground floor, with access to the first floor bathroom. The ground floor also contains the living area, complete with original painted wooden beams and a gas fireplace to enjoy on colder nights. On the lower ground floor is an impressive modern kitchen featuring the old bakery oven. There is a washing machine and dryer here alongside a cloakroom. The lower ground floor leads to the private patio, a perfect spot to have morning coffee or wind down in the evening when the weather permits!

Please Note: Due to the historic, quaint nature of this home, the property is over three levels and does have some steep narrow staircases which may be difficult for some guests. Please be aware when booking the property.

That caused a little bit of stress in but once I asked about when they would arrive they did quickly on a Saturday. Maximum four adults, fifth guest has to be a child as they will be sleeping on sofa bed in loft bedroom. There will be an extra charge of £20 per night for child on sofa bed.

- "We were so happy with this house. We travel from Australia and usually stay at least a wk in accommodation. It makes such a difference when a property is thoughtfully well equipped. It was especially nice to not have to worry about things like kitchen foil and salt and pepper etc and other basics on arrival. The location is perfect (so convenient for everything) and the property itself really comfortable, contemporary and homely. Great little outdoor space too. It is located on a one way road with no ability to stop outside so anyone booking should be aware that there is a little bit of trekking to wherever you park your car/are dropped off or whatever. The other point to note is that the staircases to both floors are narrow and quite steep and they bend around corners (low head height on upper floor). This is absolutely not a criticism, just a watch out to consider for tall people and also for if you are traveling with large, heavy or cumbersome cases.Would definitely stay again! "

- "The building is new and the location was excellent for the town and our communication before we arrived was good. The decor was nice and cosy. However the cleanliness was very disappointing and dust was everywhere. Bedside tables were dirty, bathroom surfaces were heavily caked in dust, kitchen surfaces and the dining table were not cleaned - plates in the cupboard had to be re washed, as did cutlery. Finally we had to clean the shower head to get it to work efficiently. So for the price it was very disappointing and it appeared that the property had not been inspected or quality checked before we arrived. Sorry."

Hidden in the scenic grounds of a farmhouse in Slindon village, near Arundel, is this glorious 100 year old railway carriage with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen as well as a larger living/playing area next to the carriage. Guests also have use of the private tennis court in the garden.

The carriage has been lovingly restored and guests and will appreciate the high finish with incredible attention to detail. There is a table with 4 chairs, a sofa and a small television in the living room together with a bijou cooking area with combi oven/microwave, electric hob, sink, under counter fridge and simple cooking equipment. The master bedroom is small but has a full size 4ft 6ins bed and there is a tiny second bedroom with full size bunk beds.

The bathroom has a shower, a sink, a heated towel rail and a normal flushing loo (no chemical loo here!) but do be aware that this room is very compact so it may not suitable for those of a larger build or guests with restricted mobility.

Adjacent to the railway carriage is ‘the station’ which guests may use on request if they would appreciate extra space for relaxing, watching TV and playing one of the many board games we have available for family fun. This is a really good size living room with a larger table and chairs, a washing machine and airer.

Both the carriage and 'the station' have central heating and radiators throughout, so it is suitable for stays throughout the year.

The railway carriage is situated well away from the road in a tranquil and beautiful spot next to the tennis court in the garden, and adjacent to National Trust woods. The carriage is close to pony paddocks and stables on the other side of a fence so will appeal to horse lovers - but if you are allergic to horses or their environment this probably isn’t the place for you! Do be aware as well that the carriage is immaculate – freshly restored and clean but as this is a very rural environment the occasional spider or fly may come to join the party from time to time.

Guests are very welcome to borrow tennis rackets and balls and use the court. There is outside seating for guests to enjoy during the warmer months and a lovely BBQ area.

There is no internet at the railway carriage but 4G works perfectly so guests can hotspot from their mobile. Wifi can be accessed in the garden nearer the farmhouse.

Slindon is a beautiful village between Chichester and Arundel. There is a village shop, café and a pottery shop. There are incredible walks/bike rides right from the door either into National Trust Woods or up into the South Downs. The nearest beach is about 15 minutes drive away and there is the fun of Arundel Castle and many other cultural activities for all ages to enjoy close by!

Welcome to our much loved family home at the end of the street, nestled up against an ancient woodland. Our home has a kitchen with dining table as well as a dining room, large comfortable lounge as well as five spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms and a large secluded garden with a decking area. There is also ample parking.

We comfortably sleep 10 in the 5 bedrooms and an additional 2 on the sofa bed in the lounge. One bedroom has twin beds the other four have double beds.

The master bedroom is above the kitchen and sits apart from the other bedrooms in the house. It has its own private staircase access, a dressing room and large bathroom with shower and bathtub. There is one double bedroom and toilet on the ground floor. Large living and dining room. On the first floor we have an additional 3 bedrooms as well as bathroom with shower and bath. The garden is enclosed and secluded with a large decked area that is green all year round.

The space
The house is situated on a quiet street near the cathedral with free on street parking.

It is a grade II listed terraced house. The front door opens into a small entranceway with coat and shoe rack and a doorway into the living area.

Downstairs has an open plan layout with a double aspect reception room, a kitchen and a dining area.

The sitting area has 2 large sofas around a wood burning stove and TV with DVD player and chrome cast device. The upper end of the living space has a rocking chair and reading nook area.
There is a 6 seater dining table by french doors leading out to the garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped for family cooking with a gas stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher.

The house has 3 bedrooms.
The master bedroom is on the first floor with a double bed, ample wardrobe space and french doors opening on to the balcony.

The second double bedroom is on the second floor with a desk workstation with views of the river and even the sea on a clear day.

The third bedroom is on the first floor and has single small bunk beds. These are a “shorty-size” mattress (175cm x 75cm) with the lower bunk being a floor bed so more suited to children, fine also for adults but be aware of the size for taller guests.
There is also a cot which can be moved into the main bedroom if preferred.

There is one bathroom with shower and bathtub on the ground floor.

There is an outhouse utility room accessed from the garden. In here you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional fridge freezer.

Beyond the utility room the garden opens up into a courtyard space with a BBQ and seating areas. In the summer months you can enjoy the garden lounge with a sofa and armchairs around a coffee table and at the far end of the garden is a dining table and chairs surrounded by climbing rose bushes.

The garden is secure and dogs are welcome.

There is an iron and ironing board.

For those traveling with little ones there is a high chair and stair gate in the cupboard under the stairs and please ask if there is anything else you need and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Foxes Wood is a quiet, cosy bungalow situated in Binsted, a sleepy historic village surrounded by ancient woodland and home to St Mary's church, built in the 12th Century. Perfect for couples or families looking for a peaceful base to explore the local, wildlife rich countryside and also great base to explore historic Chichester and Arundel (a 7 mile drive to Arundel Castle). Binsted is ideal for peaceful recreation, as many walkers, riders and bikers already know.

The space
A private 3-bedroom bungalow with ramp access and garden situated next to a private *children's play area with climbing frame and trampoline. The large deck outside Foxes Wood is the perfect place to wildlife spot, or watch a spectacular sunset. Inside, the 'mobile home' style bungalow has a large living room, shower room and dining space with a fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom has a double sized bed, and the second and third bedrooms are both small twins. 'Mobile home' style single beds are on the skinny side, but there is an option to use the front room pull-out double bed if any of the guests are looking for a bit more space. All bed linen and towels are provided, as are toilet rolls, washing up liquid, tea, coffee and sugar.

We really are a sleepy village living in harmony with nature and an abundance of wildlife and so must state that this property is not suitable for parties, loud gatherings or amplified music. It is absolutely perfect for a peaceful get-a-way, unwinding and enjoying the natural surroundings. Very well behaved dogs are welcomed at an additional (deep cleaning cost) of £20 per dog, (maximum 2 dogs) however we do need to highlight that there are chickens in our paddock next door, and deer cross the land daily and so we please ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times, whilst onsite.

We have parking space for a maximum of two cars onsite. (Please advise number one f cars when booking)

Lovely private room & bathroom . Just a 7 minute walk into Arundel Town Centre by the river with views of the cathedral and Arundel Castle. You have your own private parking space on the property. I live in the house with my two friendly dogs Neddy and Nelly. I can suggest the best restaurants, pubs, beaches and hot spots in Arundel. The close leads onto the river, for stunning walks into town or to Littlehampton harbour the other way. The perfect welcoming place for a relaxing getaway!

There is wonderful sightseeing on the doorstep with Arundel Castle and Cathedral. There are many antique shops to be explored and for those who enjoy hiking there are magnificent country walks over the South Downs and along the beaches South Coast just a short drive away.

The space
The front door opens directly into the large living room with two sofas, flat screen TV and open plan kitchen with table and seating for up to 4 guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven and dishwasher but please note there is no washing machine at the cottage.

There is a spacious and comfortable bedroom and shower room on the lower ground floor and further sleeping capacity for one more guest (additional cost £25) on the 5 ft 8 ins sofa bed in the living room.

There is no private parking at the cottage but parking in most of the streets around are unrestricted and Swan Yard carpark is very nearby. No dogs are allowed.

The cottage is very well located for all the amenities in town, and is a wonderful addition to Laura Lye Holiday let portfolio of Arundel Cottages. Arundel is famous for its castle and cathedral but the town is busy year round because there are wonderful antique shops in town and places of interest to visit. The Arundel area is famous for walking in the South Downs and it is close to the sea. Throughout the summer guests flock to Goodwood which hosts some of the world’s most famous motor and horse racing festivals and Arundel is a favourite base for these events.

Situated next to our home, The Pine Loft, occupies a separate self-contained building, which had a compete makeover by the interior design company Clare Hudson Design. It is the perfect 'home from home' for couples or solo-travellers wishing to enjoy walking, cycling or sailing as this one bedroom inviting haven is located in an enviable position being very near the South Downs National Park and yet only 10mins to the nearest beach. We are in a semi rural location yet just 10mins from Arundel.

The space
This lovely light, one bedroom property in a semi rural location has been tastefully decorated and designed in a modern, English country style and can accommodate two people comfortably. From an inviting living room to a calming bedroom, the modern country interior boasts a nature inspired palette, textured fabrics and forms that don’t compromise on comfort. As you enter the property, the large contemporary bathroom with powerful walk-in shower is immediately on your right on the ground floor and the stairs in front take you up to your living and sleeping area. Benefitting from an open-plan lounge area, the kitchen is well equipped with an electric hob and full size oven, fridge / freezer, a washing machine and all essential utensils and appliances. The kitchen overlooks our front lawn and large walnut tree where in the autumn you can watch the squirrels come from all the woodlands around to feast on the nuts! In the distance you can see one of our impressive oak trees. There is a large kitchen table and bench seating. A large, super comfortable sofa makes up the lounge area and a wall mounted Smart TV (for use with your own Netflix/Amazon etc subscription). Also provided is free WIFI, games and books to keep you occupied on rainy days.

The south facing bedroom is across the landing with a sumptuous King size bed with Vispring mattress which is made up with gorgeously soft bedding, and a duck and down duvet. The bed is made up with a pair of firm pillows and a pair of medium support pillows. The room contains two bedside tables, reading lamps, a chest of drawers with vanity mirror and hanging rail. The view overlooks our back garden which we love working in and the enormous pine trees from which the property takes its name!

Outside, there is a private west facing garden for guests of The Pine Loft. There are table and chairs where you can relax and enjoy alfresco breakfasts to sun downer drinks. The seat cushions for the outside chairs are stored inside the bench seat in the kitchen. We are walking distance to our brilliant local pub, The Black Horse, or we can recommend numerous other fantastic pubs or eateries just a short drive away. We are fortunate to have the renowned restaurant, The Pig, only 8 minutes drive away. You can walk or cycle to Arundel and as we are avid mountain bikers ourselves we can recommend numerous routes and suitable picnic spots.

We operate a self-check in system for your convenience using a key safe, although we should be on site most of the time to welcome you and help with any questions. All codes will be sent the day before travel.

We live alongside The Pine Loft but respect your privacy. We do have two children and an elderly Labrador. Our property is situated within 7 acres and 3 native ponies enjoy munching in the paddocks. They are very friendly so do feel free to give them a pat but please don’t feed them as some have medical conditions which need managing.

The property is situated alongside a lane so you can hear road noise but on the positive it does mean you have easy access to both Arundel and Chichester and its fabulous culture and restaurants!

The guests have a private access to The Pine Loft. Under a sheltered cover, there is a bench and space to leave your welly boots and hooks to hang any wet jackets. There is parking for one car on the private driveway and there is a private garden for guests at the front of the main house. This garden area is not fully enclosed but is surrounded by hedges and trees on the East side, behind which is the parking area and faces our paddocks with horses grazing on the West. There is no access to the hosts’ adjacent garden as we have a dog and young children.

We live on site so there is always someone here to help should you have any problems. Please adhere to the check in and out times. Check-in time is strictly after 4 pm. Checkout is strictly by 10am, this is to allow our cleaning team access to enable them to get changeover carried out and prepare for future guests especially during the busy summer period when changeovers are back to back. Thank you.

There is external CCTV protecting the property.

We have bike wash facilities and can recommend many fantastic mountain biking routes in the area.

We can offer electric car charging on a 7kw charger at 55p a kw. This is by prior arrangement at the moment until a twin charger is installed so please do let us know if this is something you would like to use as we need to charge two other electric cars daily. You will need to make a note of how many kw you use as this is a domestic charger. We ask that you transfer the charging payment directly after use. Thank you.

We want to be as sustainable as possible so our home and yours are all heated by an air source heat pump and we use Eco friendly products where possible.

Please note The Pine Loft is located alongside Yapton Lane. Whilst Yapton Lane is a narrow lane it is busy during daylight hours with tractors and lorries going to the nurseries further down the coast.

We live in a semi rural location and the internet is not the fastest.

Bird watchers will love it here as we have a greater spotted woodpecker and a green woodpecker who are resident here along with lots of song birds and birds of prey from kestrals to buzzards to name a few.

We like to share our eggs from the family chickens if they are laying and other fresh produce from our vegetable patch when in season!
