- "Love the environment and all! Nice view and a good place to get away. We enjoyed the stay." - "Just as we envisaged plus more! I didn’t realise the property was completely off grid, inspiring to say the least. Incredible views, the accommodation magic, just like the photos and the local animals were so much fun. Only thing I’d change is on one night was pretty hot even with all the doors/windows open, maybe a small fan downstairs to move the air on still hot nights. Left completely relax and recharged!! Thanks heaps Jess for the memories 😊"

- "We had a very short stay but a really unique spot, will definitely be back." - "A lovely environment & experience. Our 15 year old & 4 year old loved it. Enjoyed feeding the alpacas, peacock & chickens. The shower is awesome & we loved the chlorine & fluoride free water. It made our hair so soft 🤩" - "We enjoyed our stay, was nice for our young son to be able to feed the animals onsite. Unfortunately we paid an extra $100 for a 1 hour private spa - I reached out to the company to ask for a refund as we thought this wasn’t acceptable. The spa had chicken poo floating through it and getting swirled all around us. The water was also green. But they have assured us they checked the water conditions and it was ok. The spa is located on the mangers deck of the property they live in. So it’s far from a romantic setting. We spend 15 - 20 minutes before we were grossed out and don’t even complete our spa session. Don’t book the spa it’s a rip off - should be part of the parks amenities with the over priced stay already. "

We want our home to be a joyful place to spend with family or friends, telling stories and jokes together, unwinding and being with nature. A relaxing and romantic gem for couples, families, and people with some level of walking disabilities also.
- "Loved staying at Kookaburras. The premises were exactly like the photos and felt luxurious with a country feel. Everything we could possibly want was on hand, even a hairdryer, shampoo, condioner and body wash. It was very cold when we arrived but we soon warmed up with the log burner and at times the airconditioner. The bed was comfortable and we were surprised how warm the quilt was. This was a wonderful place in which to have a well deserved break. We thoroughly recommend this Stayz home and look forward when we can do it again. Bravo, well done!"

Our Zome is a completely unique glamping experience. The Zome was hand built by yours truly. The fully self contained space is nestled in the middle of the rainforest, offering complete privacy for couples. Hidden just far enough away from the Gold Coast to reconnect with nature and escape everyday life, but still close enough to enjoy everything the GC and Springbrook National Park have to offer.
Peaceful days turn into romantic nights as magical fairy lighting bathes every space. Enjoy the sounds and sights of the forest from the zome. There is wildlife about, so you may hear wallabies, bandicoots possums and owls rustling in the forest at night, varied birdsong in the morning.
The forest is cooling on summer days and the fireplace keeps things toasty warm in winter. Rest well in a comfortable queen bed with quality linens and an electric blanket in winter.
The kitchen is adequately equipped for preparing meals or visit one of the many restaurants 10 mins away in Mudgeeraba.
No glamping experience is complete without an alternative toilet. The innovative laveo toilet has to be the most civilised alternative on the market. Hot water is available in the kitchen and bathroom.
A few things to note:
1. LOCATION There is an undercover car space for Zome guests. From the carpark it is a 2 minute walk to the Zome. Most of the path is pretty flat, but there are a couple of steeper sections. It is definitely recommended to arrive in comfy shoes for the walk. If you give us an arrival time we can usually help carry your things to the Zome. Same with check-out. Head torches, umbrellas, and a trolley are located at the carpark for your convenience.
2. WEATHER/RAIN The Zome itself is completely weather proof. The kitchen and bathroom are undercover, but the outdoor seating area is not. A bonus is the running creek nearby during decent rain. A great time can be had even during inclement weather, but it is a glamping experience. Please be aware.
3. ACCESSING THE PROPERTY There is a bridge couple of minutes before our property. This bridge does flood in extreme rain events, restricting access in and out to the "long way round". (40 mins to Nerang) This occurs usually 2 to 3 times a year. At such times we are totally flexible with cancellation.
3.. INTERNET We have perfect Telstra reception, patchy Optus reception, no Vodaphone reception.

ABOUT SPRINGBROOK: Springbrook is in the Gold Coast hinterland, just 45 minutes from its famous surf and white sand beaches. "The Mountain" as the locals call it, is part of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests of Australia which, due to its recognition as one of the world's most outstanding and valuable places, was in 1994 officially declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area. With its origins going back millions of years, it is home to an amazing variety of wildlife from the rare Albert’s Lyrebird, which is only found in Springbrook, to Crimson Rosellas, Satin Bowerbirds, Lorikeets, Whipbirds, Parrots, Robins, Kookaburras, Koalas and Pademelons. Amidst the rainforests, the plant life is similarly spectacular with many rare, endangered and vulnerable species like the Springbrook Wedding Bush (Ricinocarpos Pinifolius), Tree Waratah (Alloxylon Pinnatum) and Clear Milk Vine (Marsdenia Longiloba). Springbrook is a forest wildness; part of an ancient volcano formed 23 million years ago, with views that stretch forever.
Nestled in the heart of the rainforests, Springbrook is a small, tight-knit, rural community. Between 700 to 1000 meters high at various plateaus, it looks out over a lush green canopy of rainforests to the magnificence of the Gold Coast, it’s golden sand beaches and the blue water horizon of the Pacific Ocean. This is why Springbrook, being the only Rainforest area on the Gold Coast, is often referred to as “the Green behind the Gold”.
Springbrook is a calm, quiet, relaxing and peaceful location of exquisite beauty. It is truly a very special place, populated by an eclectic mix of naturalists, botanists, environmentalists, farmers, doctors, lawyers, barristers, academics, musicians, artists, writers, generational families, young families, spiritualists, alternative lifestylers, retirees, bushwalkers and increasingly, by people seeking a slice of serene paradise in an ever-increasing fast, busy, noisy and stressful world.
Set within the World Heritage Listed National Park, Springbrook is also home to cool mountain streams, gorges and waterfalls as well as majestic tall trees, palms, ferns and other plants that can only to be found in Australian Rainforests.
Here are 3 interesting facts about Springbrook.

LIVING IN THE RAINFOREST: When you arrive you will find that we have left the cushions to the outdoor settings inside. We don’t like to leave them out as they can get damp depending on the changing weather conditions on the Mountain. Would you kindly bring them in when not being used.
When the weather changes and visible mist starts to settle outside over the rainforest, it is necessary to shut the doors and windows otherwise a heavy wetness will settle into the rugs, cushions, fabrics, bed linen and furnishings, and your clothes and food stocks will become damp. This is also a good time to turn in the dehumidifier.
EXTRA BLANKETS & TOWELS: There are extra blankets for the bed and extra towels if needed. You will find them on the shelves in the master bedroom wardrobe.
GROCERIES & FUEL: Just a reminder that there are no supermarkets or service stations at Springbrook so be sure to bring your own groceries and food and fill up your tank before venturing up the mountain. There is however a general store and licenced bar on Forestry Road called the Springbrook Cafe & Bar.

ABOUT SPRINGBROOK: Springbrook is in the Gold Coast hinterland, just 45 minutes from its famous surf and white sand beaches. "The Mountain" as the locals call it, is part of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests of Australia which, due to its recognition as one of the world's most outstanding and valuable places was, in December 1994, officially declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area. Springbrook a forest wildness; part of an ancient volcano formed 23 million years ago, with views that stretch forever. Our Retreat is situated adjacent to the mountain escarpment called "The Canyon". From here, the views are spectacular.
This is why Springbrook, being the only Rainforest area on the Gold Coast, is called “the Green behind the Gold”.
Set within the World Heritage Listed Springbrook National Park, Springbrook is also home to cool mountain streams, gorges and waterfalls as well as majestic tall trees, palms, ferns and other plants that can only to be found in Australian Rainforests.
Three interesting facts about Springbrook.
