While this house has amazing lake views, there is no beach. Feel free to enjoy the fire pit (firewood not provided but there is plenty of free driftwood on the dike). You can also walk a short distance to Reno Beach.

If a beach is what you’re looking for, hop in your car and drive six miles down to Maumee Bay State Park. There you’ll find the Lake Erie beach, a nice beach on a shallow man-made lake, a golf course, nature center, and boardwalk.

Howard Marsh, Magee Marsh, Pearson Park, and Ottawa State Park are also close by and perfect for birding or just exploring.

If nature isn't your thing, a 40 minute drive will get you to the Put-in-Bay ferry in Port Clinton or an hour drive will get you to Cedar Point. Your family might also enjoy the Toledo Zoo or the Toledo Museum of Art.

Fishermen are just a mile from Meinke’s Marina where you can launch your boat or rent a charter. There’s also a bait shop with a fish cleaning station close by.

We have a two person kayak and multiple bikes.

You can stock up on food at Walmart or Kroger located in Oregon or drive (or walk) the mile to Jack’s Market where you can find just about anything you’ll need.

All three bedrooms can be found on the second story, along with two of the three bathrooms. The third fully finished bathroom is located in the basement.

For us, the extensive countertop was perfect for setting out fruits, snacks, and desserts. We enjoyed the firepit on the last night. The patio furniture is comfortable. The living room is spacious and another place we could all comfortably gather. Night lights are strategically placed for safe nighttime navigating. Impeccably clean. Lovely outside and inside. I got 2 nights of restful sleep. If another trip to Toledo requires a VRBO, this will be our first choice.

Bedroom 2 is on the main floor. Off the living room and right next to the full bath. There is a queen bed as well as dresser and night stands.

Bedroom 3 is upstairs across the hall from the upstairs full bath. Two twin beds in this room.

The den is off the kitchen and can be used for entertaining with a TV and desk or a 4th bedroom. There is a sectional pull out couch as well as a queen murphy bed that doubles as a furniture piece.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need if you end up preparing meals and there is complimentary coffee and use of the Keurig machine.

Laundry is in the basement and you are welcome to use both the washer and dryer during your stay.

Please note there are stairs to get in both the front door and back door so every level has stairs.

The hot tub is in the private back yard next to the fire pit and holds 3 to 4 people.

Across the front of the Inn is our spacious Schroeder Suite. This King Bedroom is complete with sitting room. A secretary desk in the sitting room is ideal for your office away from home and the sitting area lets you enjoy the spectacular view out the bay windows to the heart of the Old West End. The spacious bedroom, can be separated by a pocket door and the sitting room can transform into a full size bedroom for your additional family member.
Gracing the center of the Inn upstairs is the fantastic Berning Suite, complete with a four poster canopy bed, fireplace (just for show!), and queen size raised bed. Spacious seating area and ample dresser and long walk-in closet can hold all your outfits for your stay. This room shares a Jack and Jill bathroom with the Schroeder Suite.
At the top of the front stairs, this inviting Queen Bedroom hosts a sturdy and large desk. With plenty of space and seating, the Cowell Bedroom is your home away from home! The Cowell Bedroom shares the hall bath with the Innkeeper. Your closet has not only a hanging rod but four very deep drawers in the built in dresser.
Just off the kitchen on the first floor is the Lilac Suite, a complete bedroom suite with walk-in closet and private bath overlooks the massive Lilac Bush just outside the bedroom window. Feel like royalty in your Four Poster Full-size Bed with a full length room radiator and three full wall windows bringing in the outdoors with plenty of natural light.
The theatre on the third floor is available for events such as community meetings, business travelers’ meetings, and licensed showings of popular movies hosted by the Scottwood Inn Foundation.

- "We, a group of 10 friends including two infants, stayed in Gregory's home while we were in town for a wedding. Gregory is very welcoming! The neighborhood does not allow for more than 10 adults in the home at a time, which is a strict rule. We had asked about squeezing in an 11th adult. The AC units in each room with their own controls were a plus, given the summer heat. The home is a short walk to the Cathedral, which was perfect for Sunday morning. There's also a coffee shop nearby, walking distance. I recommend parking on the street when you first arrive. Because we had multiple cars, one of us was encouraged to park in the driveway, which was very steep and hit the bottom of the car. Fortunately it appears no damage was done, but it was frightening. There is a paper check-in process upon arrival, through which you are to acknowledge the steep driveway, but we didn't receive this paperwork until after we hit the driveway. This didn't take away from our good experience; only something to note for future guests. Overall, we are very grateful for Gregory's hospitality!"
