Didn't really know what to expect. Place seemed safe. Shower sucked-- shower head never really hit your body right, the mat for the floor was terrible. Ended up using a bunch of towels to not slip in bathroom. They replenished you with a whole lot of towels so that was good. Microwave and stove tops only-- sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. We stayed in cabin 6 and the A/C just wasn't cutting it. It would run all through the day but only really got cold for an hour in the morning. The separate rooms were nice and beds were comfy. The appeal here is the pool. To note the pool is covered for majority of the day by a few large trees which means you swim in the shade. Although sme chairs and parts of the deck were in need of some repairs the kids were able to enjoy the water. You share it with whomever else is there which could be a good or bad thing depending on how many people are staying. You can see the water from the back of the property, but it is just a marina. You cannot touch the lake. There is another small park down past the cottages that you can get onto a beach and touch water. There are not many places to hang beach clothes to dry other than outside over a picnic table. There is one hook in bathroom and a shower bar. Location was good. Few minutes from the state park and Kelley's Island Ferry. A 20ish minute drive to Put-In-Bays ferry. Again it was just okay. "

Our initial goal was to utilize in the building process as many reclaimed, recycled, vintage and antique materials as possible in the construction of this self-built structure. To this end result, we were quite successful. Approximately 95% of its total materials have been salvaged and re-purposed from various sources. The blending of all these various components into a harmonious finished product is one that is memorable, soothing, and yet to many, exciting. As different as the exterior’s first impression may be, the cabin’s interior is where your visual senses will be captivated. Wherever your eyes and hands rove you will discover subtly aged textures, hand created items and coordinated color palettes that enhance the feelings of subtle rustic relaxation. These time worn nuances now re-shed their light from simpler by-gone days and are captured by our cabin’s cozy comfortable environment. Our cabin resides behind our 1842 farm home on our “off the beaten path” farmland environment with plenty of privacy which removes you from both the heavy traffic and people congestion normally associated with other vacation rentals. Our centralized location is very convenient to the multitudes of attractions, events and activities found throughout the entire north central Ohio region. The cottage has a private entrance and attached deck with a comfortable seating nook and dining area. Some of our guests have described it as feeling like being in a treehouse! Please note that while our cottage is on Lakeside Chautauqua property, it is just outside the fence. This allows you to easily visit Lakeside to take advantage of all of the amenities and programming when you desire, but not have to pay the seasonal gate fees for the times you are not entering. We are close to Cedar Point, Port Clinton, Catawba Island, East Harbor State Park, the Marblehead Lighthouse and historic Johnson Island. It is only a 20 minute drive into Sandusky where you’ll find Cedar Point, Kalahari and the newer addition Cedar Point Sports Park. It’s also only 20 minutes from downtown Oberlin and 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland.

The house was very clean, bright and attractive, and accommodated two families (four adults, three kids) by utilizing the pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is narrow, but well stocked with dishes and utensils for preparing meals. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor space-- a grassy area for games and cooking-out, and a shared picnic area and fire pit overlooking the lake, along with private access to the lake. The property is close to Cedar Point (about 20-25 mins), but well removed from the built-up area near the park's entrance. It's also close to the Vermillion, a pleasant town with a nice Main Street and public beach. Communication with the owner, Kathleen, was always timely and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again if we visit this area in the future."

The space
We may be new to Airbnb but we are not new to providing vacation rentals for travelers. We have 5 rentals on this property and our family has been renting here at Rock Harbor Cottages since the 1960's. We have 100's of great reviews just none on here, so please give us a chance. Along with rentals we offer fishing (walleye, perch, smallmouth bass) and pleasure charters aboard our 28 foot boat that leaves right from the property. It's time to sit back, relax and enjoy time at our Riverside Retreat and watch the boats go down the Vermilion River from the front deck. Our vacation retreat sleeps 2-3 comfortably, possibly 4&5 people. We also welcome 1 med or 2 small dogs for $100/stay. We were even greeted (both stays) with a lovely bottle of wine and welcome gift. We absolutely love the neighborhood and feel so much at home while we stay. The house is decorated as if someone lives there full time and the owners are so generous with extra linens, and all the things you might forget (from bug spray to sunscreen to ziplock bags). Our Vacation Villa originated with my parents 35 years ago and has been enjoyed by the whole family every summer when they came to the Huron area from their winter home in Orlando, Florida. My husband, children, my siblings and their children would converge every summer to go to Cedar Point, take the ferry to the Islands and golf on the Sawmill Creek's golf coarse. The best part of our time together, however, was sitting around the villa laughing and enjoying everyone's company. The open space design allowed us all to be together and never miss a joke! When the grand kids got restless we would take walks to the private beach along Lake Erie's shore. My husband and I were so fortunate to be able to purchase this beautiful piece of property and keep the legacy of hospitality that my mother and father began years ago. My mom is back in Florida and thrilled to see the renovations and updated changes we made. Even though my dad passed away three years ago, his love for his family has inspired us to create an atmosphere that will bring enjoyment for many families to come. This is the latter. This is one of the places that has a beautiful, contemporary theme and it looks as if everything in the house was purchased new just for this rental. The host was wonderful and quick to reply to messages. Check in and out was easy. There is plenty of parking and a nice grassy back yard. We drove to Port Clinton to take the ferry to Put-In-Bay for a day and were so glad we chose to stay in Vermilion. We hated to leave!"

Downtown loft apartment in the MORA district(outdoor drinking district), just a block from the Jet Express/water and all of the bars and restaurants on/around Madison Street. This loft is on the second floor, is about 1,200 sf, 2 bed, 1 bath with living room, dining area, kitchen and laundry room. The Crossfit gym on the first floor of this building have early morning classes (as early as 4:45am) that are loud. If you are a light sleeper, this place is not the best option for you.

What makes this space unique is the location and building. Downtown Port Clinton is becoming more and more popular. The building, which has sat vacant for many years, is coming back to life. With a Crossfit gym on the first floor (with loud, early morning classes(as early as 4:45am) that can be heard from the loft) and some residential living space on the second floor.

You will have access to your unit. Can buy passes to the Port Clinton Crossfit gym on the first floor if you would like to attend a class. My sister, Lexis, and her husband, Brett, run it and are great!

Other things to note
With the Crossfit gym on the first floor, they do have early morning classes and classes throughout the day with loud music and heavy weights being thrown around which can be heard/felt from the loft above. If this is a concern, I would encourage you to find another place to stay as this place may not be the best fit for you.

Beautiful apartment only blocks from the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential library & museum and a short 10 minute walk to downtown Fremont. We are located 35 minutes from cedar point. The apartment sleeps up to 4 and has one queen bed and one queen pull out couch bed. It is located next to wonderful neighbors in a dog friendly neighborhood. Off street parking is available through alley, acces behind the apartment. It is a charming place to stay on vacation or traveling for work!
