Please ignore a recent reviewer who stated the house is abandoned and boarded up! We are working with VRBO to get this removed for falsehoods! The windows and doors are not boarded up (no hurricanes in Baker City!), and it was rented all summer with high reviews. Please look at those instead when making your decision on whether to rent this property. The house is exactly the same for all these people, only this guest was different. Good Bear Ranch, a 5500 Sq. Ft. rustic log home tucked into the base of the Elkhorn Mountains, is anything but rustic when it comes to amenities. Located on 250 acres of woods and sprawling fields with direct access to the Wallowa Whitman National Forest, it's the perfect place to gather for retreats or reunions but is still cozy enough for a romantic getaway for two
- "We recently had a small get together with a few family members we had not seen in 14 years. The accommodations at BG were perfect for our small group. We had plenty of room for privacy as well as visiting in lovely, comfortable surroundings. The weather provided serious heat, some smoke, then rain, so we did not take much advantage of the outdoor seating accommodations. Two suggestions: (1) We could not find a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Fortunately we didn't need it, but the one we eventually discovered near the downstairs fireplace would not have been available in the event of an emergency. We'd suggest more and more prominent fire extinguishers and/or fire blankets. (2) Idiot-proof directions for the entertainment center would have been much appreciated. We had to spend waaaaaay too much time figuring things out to play videos and/or watch a movie. And, sadly, missed the Women's World Cup final due to inability to determine how to get reception. Otherwise, we LOVED our visit to GB, and would recommend it to others. Thanks, Robin, for sharing this lovely place (and your amazing landscaping)."

A rustic gas fireplace invites you into the large living room. All 4 bedrooms are located upstairs (sleeps 7-8, 3 queen beds and 1 double bed, and a futon for extra sleeping-the futon is located downstairs) 2 full bathrooms (1 located upstairs and 1 on the main floor) both with a tub and shower. Large kitchen with all the amenities, full sized refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, stocked coffee and tea bar. We also have another full sized refrigerator in the attached garage for your use. We have a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. (laundry soap and dryer sheets provided)
For entertainment we have a pool table, games, cards, Dish TV, Wi-fi, stereo/radio, and large green lawns for outdoor activities. We also have an outdoor fire pit for your enjoyment (not available during fire season). Wood and kindling provided. Three large decks and a small balcony. The lower deck has a gas BBQ grill and table and chairs to enjoy your meals or just sit back and relax. Enjoy your morning coffee on the back deck off of the kitchen nook, breathe the fresh air and take in the majestic view of the Elkhorn Mountains! The upper deck has the most fantastic views of both the Elkhorn and Eagle Cap Mountains. Enjoy the various wildlife that frequent the area.. Owls, deer, elk, maybe even a fox, just to name a few!

There is a 2 night minimum. This is a working farm and there is a chance during summer months that we will be haying during your stay. Be assured there is plenty of space and you probably won't notice someone driving through the barnyard. You may enjoy kicking back on the deck and watching them cut/bale hay!

The well-appointed South Casita is located 1/2 mile from the Quail Ridge Golf Course, yet only two minutes away from the amenities of downtown Baker City, featuring shopping, art galleries, dining, wine bar and award-winning brew pubs. You will enjoy the resort like setting of the South Casita boasting a 600 sq. ft. combined bedroom and living area, including a separate full bathroom and kitchenette. The queen bed has a luxury pillow top mattress with high quality sheets and bedding.

Kitchen layout was a little difficult to maneuver as it was so small, but this really didn't affect our enjoyment, as we had planned on dining out during our stay. The quiet and peaceful location was perfect - although we were able to view wildlife from our window and from the deck, we were very close to town, so that we could easily go explore the local shops, see the sights, and learn the history of Baker City. The hostess provided lots of little "extras", which was a nice surprise. I would definitely choose to stay here again, should I get the opportunity. Highly recommend!"

Newly remodeled industrial loft that overlooks Main Street and 2500sf of living space that boasts 2 ensuites with king-size beds. In the heart of Baker and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, parks, and much more! An 85' "wall of fame" that displays historic black and white photos dated back to the late 1800s. So much history and includes the original lift used in 1900. Large open seating area, 10.5' center kitchen island. A true must-see!

What was once an open bay and brewing room has been converted into a stylish and modern guest suite to make for a comfortable home-away-from home. Whether you are visiting with a partner or a friend, on a work trip, or traveling solo, this cozy space has everything you’ll need to maximize your time in Baker City. Our Suburban Suite is a distinct upgrade from even the top tier hotel rooms available in the area.
Enjoy a personal parking space in the driveway, private access, and ample natural light from the glass garage door without sacrificing any privacy.
You’ll have two full beds, a full bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette containing a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, and other essentials. Take advantage of the adjustable rolling ladder to reach the upper storage shelves.
The Suburban Suite has a main living area with a wood stove for chilly winter nights. There is a 32-inch Roku TV, comfy seating, and small bar table that can be used as additional counter or desk space. The bedroom also has a fold-down desk and adjustable stool for dedicated workspace.
This space is walking distance from the Quail Ridge Golf Course and only a short, 3-minute drive from historic downtown Baker City.
Guest access:
You’ll have full access to the driveway space directly in front of the ADU, the right side yard, and the ADU space itself. The backyard is accessible only when there is no other guest staying in the main house, or upon private arrangement between guests. Such arrangements must be approved by myself as well, to assure all parties are content and comfortable.
A few details to note when booking:
HEATING:
The suite relies heavily on two space heaters to maintain a comfortable temperature in the winter. There is also a wood stove available for use. The furnace to the main house unfortunately does not provide heat to this space.
COOLING:
This unit does not have AC and uses cooling fans and window management (opening windows at night to circulate cool air and closing them in the morning to trap it). The glass lift door can also be opened to allow breezes through as well.
We are continually working to improve the temperature management of this suite, so you have temperature sensitivities, please plan accordingly and communicate openlyto make sure this booking will be a good fit for your stay!
KITCHEN LADDER:
To reach the stored dishes and servingware in the kitchen, you will need to be able to climb the sliding ladder. Please note that in order to use it safely, you will need to lift slightly and pull out towards you so that the base of the ladder rests further into the room creating a much more comfortable angle for climbing. It lifts up and can be placed in its upright position for storage. Do not attempt to climb it while in the upright position!

Welcome to the Time Capsule! This 1950s home is more unique than most hotel rooms in Baker City, Oregon. With only one owner in 71 years, the 2 bed, 1 bath vacation rental is filled with charm. All we added during the restoration phase is air conditioning, a few antique furniture gems, and mid-century modern decor for style, comfort, and a fun blast through the past. Everything else is original, including the hardwood floors which we found hidden underneath the carpet! They were quite literally, held in a time capsule.
If you are looking for lodging near downtown Baker City, this is it. Nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood, The Time Capsule is only a few blocks from Barley Brown’s Taphouse and Restaurant, The Main Event Sports Bar, and much more. In addition to accommodations in Baker City, OR, we are happy to give local suggestions to enjoy your time in our little corner of eastern Oregon.
This home is 2,334 sq ft including the basement, which is currently unfinished and houses the washer and dryer. The living room and dining area are in an open-concept type room, with the kitchen in the room over. The basement and one-car garage are accessible through the kitchen.
Both our green and blue, and blue and pink pastel, themed rooms have a queen bed and tons of classic, 1950s built-in storage. For those who need a dedicated workspace, the blue and pink room also has a beautiful antique desk.
The yard is small but cozy; it has green grass, trees, and shrubs on a corner lot with a small deck through the sliding door. The deck has a lot of shade and can be seen from the sidewalk and neighborhood.
If you are traveling for work and looking at rental houses in Baker City, Oregon to stay at for longer periods of time, we are happy to accommodate you. This space is especially great for traveling nurses, lab technicians, and contractors.

Grouse House is named after a beloved lodge run up at Anthony Lakes. You will find all of the comforts that a lodge would have to offer you once you get back to town, just in a much tighter package.

Unplug! A Private Rustic Cabin 20 min. from Baker City, nestled in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains. Ready for a bit of adventure? Outgoing plumbing only (no running water). Bucket your washing/flushing water from the creek off of the back deck which runs most of the year.
45 min. to Anthony Lakes Ski Resort.
Guests are to clean up after themselves upon checkout.
No internet, TV service or Freezer. Cell service may be sketchy.

The space
The Enchanting A-Frame is private outside of 2 neighboring cabins, one is a full-year resident.
Please note that there is no cleaning fee for use of the cabin. It is up to you to clean up and leave the space as you found it.
This 900 square foot cabin is rustic, not all conveniences, but very comfortable, like camping but much better, safer, warmer, drier .... some cabin dust, a few bugs & a rare mouse to be expected.
Being an A-Frame, the upstairs bedroom/loft is much warmer than downstairs, especially in the winter. There are fans on both levels to encourage circulation of heat from the propane vent-less heater.
The bathroom is small and tight quarters and can be a bit of a challenge. The shower is also on the small side and is a camp shower ( with water heated from the stove). The spiral staircase is narrow and steep with a minimal handrail.
A stone fireplace provides additional comfort during the colder and wetter seasons so bring lots of firewood to add to the starter stock provided. (No fires of any kind however during wildfire season, generally July - September.)
Light breakfast foods, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available for guests to enjoy. The kitchen is stocked with all basics, plates, glasses, utensils, pots and pans etc.
Four wheel drive and traction tires are highly recommended in the winter months, generally December through March as the last bit of road is shaded and can be quite icy and slick at times.

Guests have use the entire cabin, though there are many drawers and cupboards which store host supplies and linens. The neighboring storage shed is for host use only.
Other things to note
Just to reiterate, the plumbing inside the cabin is outgoing only. Water must be brought into the cabin from the creek or it will be provided in buckets and large water jugs (if the creek is not running, which it occasionally does not due to retainage for forest fires or use for agriculture in the fall). Hot water is obtained by Heating water on the propane range in the kitchen.
Propane is the main source of heat and provides fuel for the cook stove.
We do not charge a cleaning fee, it is your responsibility to leave the cabin as you found it. Clean up after yourselves and your pets!

Our home was built in 1935 by the local high school students. It has been remodeled over the years but still contains much of the original character and charm from many years ago.
The space
Aside from the three bedrooms the house offers a large Man Cave in basement area with a large TV and two love-seats for comfortable seating of four. The downstairs also has a dart board as well as a free washer and dryer, an ironing board and an iron. We also have a private outside patio area with a fire-pit and a barbecue grill. During the winter months the patio furniture is stored and out of use, the barbecue can be used year round. The house does have stairs to access the downstairs laundry and Man Cave as well as stairs to one of the upstairs rooms. The main level has the kitchen/dining area as well as the living room , two bedrooms and the bathroom with approximately 3-4 steps to enter the home from the sidewalk outside.

Located in a quiet neighborhood and still just a few blocks to downtown. As owners of the winery in town you will get free tasting coupons. This charming home was built in the 20's and is bright and cheery with a bit of eclectic artistic flare. This house has narrow doorways and does not meet ADA requirements for hand rails on the steps.
The space
The bedroom has a closet, dresser, side tables, a queen sized bed with a standard purple mattress and a 55 inch smart TV. The bathroom is small, but does have a shower, tub, sink and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, baking, coffee, etc. Dining room table has 5 chairs and the breakfast bar has two. The living room has a reclining loveseat and a large Christmas tree currently. Laundry room is fully equipped. Garage access is not permitted at this time. The back yard is fully fenced, but is currently mid-way through landscaping changes and has many tripping hazards. The chicken house and pen are off limits, though you are welcome to throw organic leftovers over the fence to them.

This location has a driveway (which is a bit rough) as well as street parking. It is in a quiet neighborhood which is 3 blocks from grocery store, park, museum and river walk access. The historic downtown area is only a few blocks more.

This home is pet friendly, and though everything will be cleaned and sanitized for your stay, we do not recommend this location for persons who suffer from pet dander allergies. Smoking is NOT allowed in this home. If you book a multiple night stay, a dozen free range organic eggs will be left in the refrigerator for you.

The space

You’ll have two full beds, a full bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette containing a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, and other essentials. Take advantage of the adjustable rolling ladder to reach the upper storage shelves.
The Suburban Suite has a main living area with a wood stove for chilly winter nights. There is a 32-inch Roku TV, comfy seating, and small bar table that can be used as additional counter or desk space. The bedroom also has a fold-down desk and adjustable stool for dedicated workspace.

You’ll have full access to the driveway space directly in front of the ADU, the right side yard, and the ADU space itself. The backyard is accessible only when there is no other guest staying in the main house, or upon private arrangement between guests. Such arrangements must be approved by myself as well, to assure all parties are content and comfortable.

A few details to note when booking:
HEATING
The suite relies heavily on two space heaters to maintain a comfortable temperature in the winter. There is also a wood stove available for use. The furnace to the main house unfortunately does not provide heat to this space.
COOLING
This unit does not have AC and uses cooling fans and window management (opening windows at night to circulate cool air and closing them in the morning to trap it). The glass lift door can also be opened to allow breezes through as well.
We are continually working to improve the temperature management of this suite, so you have temperature sensitivities, please plan accordingly and communicate openlyto make sure this booking will be a good fit for your stay!
KITCHEN LADDER
To reach the stored dishes and servingware in the kitchen, you will need to be able to climb the sliding ladder. Please note that in order to use it safely, you will need to lift slightly and pull out towards you so that the base of the ladder rests further into the room creating a much more comfortable angle for climbing. It lifts up and can be placed in its upright position for storage. Do not attempt to climb it while in the upright position!
