The home features 3+ bedrooms (3 queen beds and 1 twin bed), 2 full baths (as of 2024 remodel) and an outdoor shower --- perfect for rinsing off after a day on the beach. It is fully furnished and comes with everything you need for day-to-day living and year-round entertainment. In addition to the 1st floor living room for lounging and TV watching, there is also a cozy 2nd floor entertainment room with another TV for the kids.

With central heating & brand new, high capacity mini-split systems on each floor for air conditioning, the home is quite comfortable year round. There are also several fans around the house if guests prefer that option, but often with the cooling breeze off the water, just opening the screened windows and doors is perfect!

The new backyard decks (one on the back of the house and the other by the seawall) offer exceptional sunset views and are ideal for outdoor living.

The large grassy backyard is shaded by two beautiful Silver Maple trees and provides a wonderful playground for cornhole, badminton, ladder ball, frisbee ring toss, lawn bowling, lawn pong, croquet, or just lounging in a hammock. This equipment, along with beach chairs, a new Weber BBQ and several adult bicycles (with helmets & locks), are all available for your use. Our guests are also welcome to use our sporting equipment (i.e tennis rackets & balls, volleyball, and basketball ) at the Bristol Town Beach & Sports Complex which is just steps away.

This is a 1 bedroom apartment, completely renovated keeping the historic features of the house with modern amenities. Decorated with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and light fixtures. The house is located on the parade route of the oldest 4th of July celebration in America, 2 blocks from the downtown area of Bristol and close to many other area attractions like Newport(30 mins south) and Providence(30 mins west) and Boston(60 mins. north). The house is equipped with a fully functioning kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and wet bar area for your cocktails. Our updated, historic multi-family is centrally located in downtown Bristol, Rhode Island. It is a side-by-side, 2 bed 1 bath townhouse that accommodates 4 people on two queen beds. A short walk to downtown shops, restaurants, and the harbor and a short drive to nearby beaches and parks makes this the perfect summer getaway. We are steps away from the longest standing 4th of July Parade route. Come enjoy the Fall foliage once the summer heat has left. We are less than a mile from the Roger Williams University campus.

Our historic and charming, multi-family was built in the early 1800s and still has a historic feel to it with crooked doors and uneven floors, but that is what gives it charm. Within its historic bones, we have added modern amenities to make sure your stay feels comfortable, cozy, and up to today's standards.

This is a two-story townhome located in the heart of Bristol. The first floor of the home features a full dining room; a living room with a convertible couch and flatscreen tv with smart capabilities; a bathroom with standup shower including towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer, iron, washer and dryer; a full kitchen including cookware, utensils, sink, stove/oven, toaster, full fridge, coffee maker, French press, and microwave. On the second floor there are two bedrooms with queen beds, A/C in windows (for summer), remote heating units (for winter), and nightstands. Due to the age of the house, closets were not a necessity in the old days, so our bedrooms include dressers and a large communal hanging closet at the top of the stairs. All amenities you could need for your stay are available for use.

The backyard is a communal space with the attached townhouse complete with separate BBQ, sitting area, and firepit. Access to the backyard is through a side door in the living area.

Due to the age of the house, closets were not a necessity in the old days, so our bedrooms include dressers and a large communal hanging closet at the top of the stairs. Hydrangea House is a Greek Revival Cottage that is set in the historic downtown of Bristol. House features a winding staircase that leads to two bedrooms on the second floor and full bathroom. Full eat in kitchen on the first floor, spacious living room and additional bedroom are perfect for dining in and winding down. This stand alone cottage will provide guests with the privacy they are looking for without sacrificing all the downtown has to offer.

The Carriage House in historic Bristol is a short walk to downtown restaurants, shops, coffee shops, two neighborhood beaches, museums, public library, churches and several wedding venues. It is a half block to the Prudence Island and Providence to Newport Ferry and a short walk to the Bike Shop (rentals) and the East Bay Bike Path which leads to Colt State Park. The harbor boardwalk is aIso a short walk from the front door. On the bus route to Newport (20 minutes) and Providence (30 minutesl).

The space

Welcome to our 2 bedroom apartment. Here you will find the perfect apartment that is steps from the Bristol bay and East Bay bike path. It is the third house down from the parade route for the 4th of July, where Bristol proudly celebrates and is famously known for. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and is centrally located to all of Bristol's' downtown best attractions and just far enough away to enjoy peace at night on the water.

The space
Property is a 2 apartment home. This rental is the top floor apartment with a private entrance with 13 steps that take you to the apartment with 2 spacious bedrooms, bathroom with tub/shower, living room with TV, full working kitchen, Wi-Fi, and basic amenities available. As noted above this apartment has its own private gate and entrance.

Guest access
Guests will have their own private gate with entrance to apartment. Lock box with keys is available to gain access during your stay. Unfortunately no backyard access but there are so many wonderful parks around to fully enjoy just walking distance away, Colt State Park, Independence Park, the town Common, and across the street Guiteras elementary school (the school with a view).

Other things to note
You can park on the street in front of the apartment but will need a guest pass to not get ticketed. In order for us to get you the pass from the town we will need the license plate information including state for the car(s) you plan on parking on the street before your stay. The town clerks office is open Monday-Friday 8am-4pm so please keep that in mind as we would need to know before you stay as we have to get the pass for you, the town will not give the pass directly to you. It is easy to find parking in front of house unless during 4th of July.

About a 5 minute walk to restaurants, cafes, breakfast places, brewery, waterfront, ferry, neighborhood beaches, parks, bike rental/path, museums and wedding venues. About a 5 minute drive to RWU and Colt park. Spacious open floor plan with 3 working fireplaces, private entrance w/access to gardens, fountains and sheltered outdoor seating. Do you like whimsical art, historic architecture and eclectic spaces? Are you a couple looking for a romantic hamlet in a small seaside town with a great foodie scene? If you answered "Yes" to either of these questions then Inn Cognito is probably your cup of tea.

This bright and spacious (800+sq ft) historic property has lots of amenities and designer touches throughout like: a full size cook's kitchen, clawfoot slipper tub, custom queen size rope bed, primitive antiques, original artwork and furnished with plant based furniture and textiles throughout. There are three working gas and electric fireplaces to warm you during New England winters AND a garden that comes alive with colorful lights and kinetic sculpture on summer evenings. PLUS you have your own private entrance and driveway. Did we mention that it's on the first floor and you can walk to just about everything?

Please note: This property is not suitable for children 12 and under due to the 30" height of the master bedroom bed and the fact that the guest bed is a folding Murphy bed - see photos of dining room.

Guest access
You will be the only guests on the premises and will have exclusive access the entire first floor apartment with a private entrance in back and private parking space for 1 or 2 cars in the driveway. Through spring, summer and fall you will have shared access to the garden and outdoor dining area, but it's mostly all yours. You'll see us puttering with the flowers and sometimes Neil has guests over for a studio visit in the evening, but that's it. If you have bikes you can park them in the driveway or put them in the sheltered outdoor dining area if it rains. Please respect our rule that only registered guests are allowed on the property, but if you just want to share a drink and quiet conversation with friends in the garden that's fine. The barn is a private artist studio and guests DO NOT have access to this building. This property is owner occupied.

Other things to note
There is no tv anywhere on the property, so if you'd like to watch we advise that you bring a tablet. The apartment is entirely vegan friendly, smoke free and animal dander free. This is a 200 plus year old antique wooden home so we do not allow any open flames on the property. NO SMOKING OR VAPING of any kind is permitted anywhere on the premises.

Extra blankets, pillows and cozy shams can be found in the red trunk in the bedroom as well as the green trunk and the living room. You'll find plenty of cooking supplies if you want to prepare a meal but if there's something the kitchen is lacking just let us know and we'd be happy to send whatever it is down to you.
