We love Woods Hole and think you will too! It has a truly unique ambiance and mix of tranquility, as well as accessibility. Once you park (or arrive via express bus from Boston), you will find everything you need within a short walk. These are approximate walking distances: Stony Beach (2 minutes); Woods Hole park and playground (3 minutes); center of town and Aquarium (5 minutes); and Martha's Vineyard ferry, the start of the Shining Sea Bikeway , the shuttle to Falmouth Center, and the bus stop (7 minutes). Stony Beach is famous for its gentle slope to the warm Buzzards Bay waters, which is perfect for children, and adults, alike. We provide both adult and children's kayaks and a paddle board which can easily be carried for use off of the beach (with adult supervision of children). Families, in particular, will enjoy the easy access to the park, including play structure, swings, beach volleyball, tennis courts, and baseball diamond. At the Aquarium, guests can check out the sea lions and some of the work of the local marine biologists. In town, there are wonderful restaurants, including Captain Kidd, the Landfall, and Pie in the Sky (whose made-from-scratch bread pudding is out of this world!). Those who like to bicycle will be especially happy at our home, not only given the beauty of Woods Hole and surrounding areas, but also because it is the start of the 10-mile-long Shining Sea Bikeway, which passes along the ocean, cranberry bogs and beautiful salt sea ponds and marshes. Day trips to Martha's Vineyard are easy from Woods Hole, whether on foot or on bike. The ferry leaves regularly and only costs approximately $7 each way. Our home was newly-renovated and includes 600 mbps high speed internet, and 2 large screen televisions with hundreds of free channels, including HBO, and an abundance of free on-demand offerings. The home is complemented throughout with original artwork from artists featured in the French gallery, Carre d'artistes. The furnishings are all brand new and feature a large sectional sofa and dining room chairs, all upholstered in supple leather. One only has to look out the window or off the deck to take in the wildlife present in and around Mill Pond, a location popular with bird watchers. Enjoying the view is made easy by the comfortable deck dining table and adjacent gas grille. We understand that plans sometimes change, and are, therefore, happy to grant net refunds, however, only to the extent that the house can be re-rented on the same net terms. We've spent every summer in Falmouth and couldn't resist buying this house because the amazing location is easily accessible to the beach, Falmouth Village, and the Shining Sea Bike Path.

Beautiful Surf Drive Beach is literally a 2 minute walk to the right. You can see and smell the ocean from the front yard. No need to hassle with beach parking permits or full parking lots. Surf Drive Beach is great for kids with its limited tides and surf due to the protection from Martha's Vineyard across the Sound. At this beach there is a snack bar offering the usual fare plus healthier options like lobster rolls, chicken sandwiches and fruit smoothies. Help yourselves to beach chairs and towels from the house.

To the left, charming Falmouth Village is a 10 minute walk or quick bike ride. The first place you'll encounter is the legendary Ben and Bill's homemade candy and ice cream shop. In addition to boutiques and candlepin bowling, there is a wide selection of outstanding restaurants including the French bakery, rustic Italian at Osteria La Civetta, premium Tequila selection at Anejo, and the famous Lobster Roll at The Quarterdeck. You'll also find Thai, Indian and Greek restaurant options.

The house also boasts easy access to the Shining Sea Bike Path that stretches from Woods Hole to North Falmouth with spectacular views and many top-notch food and drink options along the way. You can even ride 2-3 miles from the house to catch the Steamship Authority or Island Queen ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Bring your bike aboard and explore the island's beaches and towns by bike. Help yourself to the bikes and helmets in our shed or you may rent bikes in Falmouth Village.

We renovated this 3+ bedroom home with an open dining/kitchen area, an airy sunroom, a den with roomy sectional and flat screen TV, the strongest available Wi-FI, new kitchen appliances and 2 full bathrooms plus an outdoor shower. The house feels fresh (without that common musty Cape Cod feel). You can see the ocean and Martha's Vineyard from the front yard. The back yard abuts conservation land and has an open, airy, oceanside feeling.

The house offers easy one-story living with 3 bedrooms plus a den to comfortably accommodate 8 people. The house has a washer/dryer on the main floor and a second refrigerator. Enjoy meals at the gracious dining room table or in the back yard. The house is stocked with bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, a Nespresso coffee maker and condiments / pantry items. There is a Google keypad for keyless entry, Nest smoke detectors in every room and Nest thermostats.

We recently purchased this home and updated all of the furnishings including all new mattresses and high quality bedding. The house has brand new central air conditioning and heating.

There is one bedroom and one bathroom which has a tub/shower. It features a brand new, fully equipped kitchen with electric stove and granite counter tops. While the beach is a half mile walk, it may be helpful to have a car to beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc. There is parking for two cars in the driveway. Nearby beaches – The Heights, Old Silver and Woodneck beach (great for kids).

There are two bikes available or rent additional ones at Corner Cycle: Just a short distance from the front door is one of the most well-maintained bike path roots in the East. Ride along the Shining Sea Bike Path to go to town or visit the quaint village of Woods Hole - all on protected and safe paved bike paths.

Downtown Falmouth is only a couple of miles away and has lots of restaurants and shopping. The harbor, restaurants, pubs, boutiques, Falmouth Farmers' Market, Cape Cod Baseball League Games and Thursday Night Town Band Concerts are all in town as well.

In addition, more Cape Cod destinations are a short drive or a ferry trip away. Take a mini road trip to Provincetown for a full view of Cape Cod or hop on the ferry at the Steamship Authority to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. The house is close to the Island Queen Ferry at Falmouth Harbor for a day trip to the Vineyard!

For rainy-day amusement, restaurants, shops, a movie theater and the aquarium are not far!

Communication with the owner was hospitable and efficient. It was just weird being only separated by a thin wooden door… the biggest issue was that the parking spaces were pretty far from the guest houses in back & lugging all our stuff that far was a drag. There was another group moving into the other guest house by ours & she was pretty upset too. I found a wagon along the building & started using that, then we shared it with them. Add to the distance, the yard was a lake from all the rain! Also, we were supposed to have 2 parking spots, we only needed one but sometimes we came back and there were no spots left so we parked on the grass? I was also disappointed that there was no quilt or comforter on the bed. It was pretty cold in there, luckily the heat worked really well & there were blankets in the closet. The only other thing that may be an issue depending on your size (I’m small, my husband is average) but the shower stall is SUPER TINY! Something to consider if you’re a larger sized person. This sunny, airy cottage is a five-minute walk to the Village and 2 minutes to the beach. The entry hall leads to a vaulted open-plan living space with fireplace and kitchen/dining area opening to a peaceful (church bells and birdsong) deck overlooking the Mill Pond. Single-floor plan includes three bedrooms and full bath off the entry hall (two with queen beds and one single) and a sofabed in the living area. An unfinished basement includes a washer/dryer and newly renovated bath with shower.

The space
From the peaceful back deck It's a quick three-block walk to the village of Woods Hole for groceries, morning coffee, drinks or dinner, or exploring the area on foot or by bike. When you come back from the beach, walking, or biking, there is an outdoor shower and room on the lawn to sunbathe in privacy, play croquet or lawn games, or relax on the deck listening to the birds, the church bells, and the ferry horn.

Places To Go and Things to Do:

Woods Hole is a true small town with a year-round population centered on marine science and anchored by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. The village is enlivened by the ferry-goers to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, and by its access to the water: boats docked in Eel Pond with a drawbridge that rises to provide access to the ocean; a sandy beach; and in our case a pond.

Playground: The town ballfield and playground can be seen across the pond, and is about a 5 minute walk. It has tennis courts, a volleyball net, and a large play structure as well as a baseball diamond.

Food:

Pie in the Sky, the iconic Woods Hole bakery that has served residents and ferry-travellers alike for over 40 years, is about a 10 minute walk. It is open from 5 am to 10 pm daily, serving coffee, pastries, soups, sandwiches, smoothies and much else. Coffee Obsession is another terrific local coffee spot, with slightly more limited hours (7-3 Monday-Saturday). For last-minute groceries and snacks, the Woods Hole Market and General Store is open Wednesdays-Saturdays 8-6. There are several other great restaurants listed here.


Activities:

There is a lot to do in and around Woods Hole; an excellent overview of all that the area offers can be found at the website for woodshole. Three activities stand out:

The Shining Sea Bikeway, which starts in town and weaves along and away from the shore, is ideal for walkers and bikers alike, with beautiful beaches and views of Martha’s Vineyard and the Aquinnah Cliffs.

For all things oceanographic, start at the WHOI Marine Science Discovery Center and continue to the Woods Hole Science Aquarium.

Take a day trip to the Islands: Woods Hole is known to many visitors primarily as the embarkation point for the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. You are a short walk from the ferry, with no parking worries, so make a day of it or just enjoy a round trip.

A Woods Hole Gem, set in a beautiful wooded area just past the village and a couple of minutes walk to your own private beach. Pass the days away with trips to the Vineyard, BBQ on the huge deck, lounging by the ocean, walking the wooded trails behind the house. Ride the "Shining Sea" Bike Path on one of our 4 free bikes to Woods Hole and take them over on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The kids will love playing ping pong in the game room followed by s'mores around the stone fire pit at night.

The space
This is a beautiful classic barn house complete with a huge loft, a massive wooded yard and a short walk to our private beach surrounded by $15 million mansions. My grandparents built this house when they started working at the Marine Biological Laboratory in the 50's. We have added another wing to the house and upgraded everything in the last two years. We have all of the modern conveniences, yet we have maintained the nostalgic look and feel of a traditional summer cape house. We do have one small AC unit in the master bedroom. The majority of the house has no AC.

Our home is spacious with a vaulted ceiling and a ‘cabin in the woods’ feel. Great for families. A private setting where you can escape the hustle and bustle of town and just listen to the wildlife in the backyard while being a short distance to town, ferries, buses and all Woods Hole has to offer. We are very close to Woods Hole and just a short bike ride to Falmouth as well.

The house is just a few minutes walk to the "Shining Sea" Bike Path, which gives you easy access to Woods Hole and Falmouth. And yes there are ice cream shops along the way. Be sure to look at all of the photos- I just added an aerial photo which shows how many steps it is to our private beach. The beach does have sand and round stones (see photos) and there are definitely lots of stones in the water. It is great for kids to have water shoes. If you appreciate walking to the beach and avoiding the crowds you have found the perfect spot. You don't have to drive to the beach anymore and fight for a parking spot and of course you won't miss those parking admission fees. Your free private beach is just a stroll away.

If you feel the need for internet speed you are in the right place. We pay extra for the fastest Xfinity Gigabit service which is lighting fast in the Master Bedroom where the modem is located. We installed the service so we could run multiple zoom calls at one time for work and school. We have a mesh network which broadcasts the signal throughout the house. Xfinity Gigabit Internet service has advanced, next generation technology, with WiFi download speeds of up to 1000 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 35 Mbps.

We are continuing to be proactive in ensuring the health and safety of our guests. We go to great lengths to insure you and your family have a safe and clean environment. The house is detailed top to bottom by a local, family run, professional and highly paid maid service who has been with us since 2015. Yes, we do have a cleaning fee but as you will see and appreciate- they are very fastidious.

Our home and property have always maintained the highest level of cleanliness, so rest assured we will be thoroughly disinfecting every surface twice between guests and all linens are cleaned with hot water. All surfaces are disinfected before you arrive. We are screening guests and leaving plenty of time for our professional cleaners to get the job done thoroughly. We also hired a separate inspector to review the cleaning crew’s work before you arrive.

We do accept some pets —-please inquire and get approval prior to coming- there is a $175 one time NON-refundable pet fee.

As far as Airbnb’s generous cancellation policy- please read their latest update. As hosts, we always abide by Airbnb’s cancellation policy.

There is a full size washer and dryer in the basement for your use.

There are two full size refrigerators- one in the kitchen and one in the basement. The walk out basement has a full size ping pong table and opens up onto the back yard. Three sides of the basement have windows, it's only partially underground.

The loft has a king size bed and is up a steep stairway. It does get warm in the loft in the middle of the day and yes, there is a window and fans. People in the loft can look down onto the living room below but it is impossible for the guests in the living room to see anyone in the loft :). Two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower are under the loft. Each of these 2 separate bedrooms has one single bed and a single bunk bed. Each bedroom can easily sleep 3 people (2 bedrooms sleep a total of 6 people).

On the other side of the house there is a master bedroom with in-suite bathroom. The master bedroom has a brand new king sized bed and is big and has a separate entrance and private bathroom with a bathtub. The master bedroom can be totally isolated from the rest of the house.

Wifi is included. The wifi speed is VERY fast. - we have a fiber 1 Gigabit Comcast/Xfinity service. We pay $200 a month for Internet and Cable. You will love the internet.

The kitchen and outside wood deck are new. The deck is big and has a propane BBQ grill and table and chairs. The backyard is heavily wooded, huge and is perfect for kids and there is a fire pit and chairs for s'mores.

There is plenty of free parking in the front driveway. We can easily fit a full size RV and four cars. Our house has it all. We offer keyless entry to the home. We have a keypad on the front door. We provide digital codes so everyone in your party can come and go as they please. No physical keys to lose. Arrive and depart at your leisure. You do not have to meet us upon arrival. The codes are changed after each stay. Our house is very secure and safe. We have had the same neighbors for generations.

Cleanliness is very important to us. We have new procedures in place for your safety. Our cleaning company has switched to EPA approved hospital-grade disinfectants for all our turnovers. As always, all beds linens are sanitized and replaced every turnover and they are taking new measures to disinfect door knobs, light switches, hard-backed chairs, handles and remotes every cleaning. As such, you can be sure our unit will be disinfected to CDC approved standards upon your arrival. All of our linens are taken off site and are cleaned in professional commercial facilities. There are no extra clorox wipes at the house. You are welcome to bring clorox wipes. There are general cleaning supplies at the house. The cleaning company uses their own supplies which they bring with them each time they sanitize the house.

This lovely studio, with a full sized bed, private bath with shower and tub PLUS a New York style kitchenette sits on Woods Hole Road on the ground floor of an 1830's Farmhouse, overlooking Little Harbor. The living room has a couch that pulls out to a twin bed. The living room also has a small table and chairs, plus the television with free cable and wifi.

This cozy space is a close 6 minute walk to all of the shops and restaurants of Woods Hole, two beaches and the Steamship Authority Martha's Vineyard ferry.

Guests have access to parking for one vehicle included in the rental arrangement. This off street parking is set back on the property and is shared with the two other rental units on this property. If additional parking for a second vehicle is needed, it must be arranged with us in advance.

We have increased our already well-developed and extensive cleaning procedures to meet the new risks of Covid19, and we wanted to share with you exactly what we have done. This is a fluid situation, and we may make additional changes in the weeks to come as we take as many precautionary measures as possible to protect the health and welfare of our guests and staff.

We have extended procedures within each property we take care of to include using CDC guidelines with disinfectants to meet EPA criteria for use against SARS-COV2. Each room will be cleaned thoroughly paying great attention to high-touch, hard non-porous items such as: door knobs, light switches, counters, tables, desks, bathrooms, keys, handrails, handles, indoor and outdoor seating areas, knobs, remote controls, television, toilet seats, water faucet handles, nightstands, temperature controlled panels, alarm clocks and luggage racks. All linens will be washed professionally with a nearby linen facility. All floors, rugs and cloth furniture will be vacuumed and mopped after each guest departure.



In addition, staff are required to wear gloves during the cleaning process and anytime a staff member is on site checking on the property prior to guest arrival. Our staff is required to stay home if they do not feel well, and we have reiterated our sick pay policy to encourage reporting of any concerns.

We are as concerned about your health as you are, and we know we can all work together to get through these challenging times. In all of these decisions, we are balancing the very real public health impact of COVID-19 with our desire to remain open for your needs. The space
The garden that surrounds the house is inviting, restful, and expansive. The house is surrounded by green, birds and birdsong in the summer, glorious colors in the spring, summer, and fall, and often, spectacular white with brilliant blue sky in the winter. The house has the feeling of an oasis but is near science, music, the Shining Sea Bike and Walking Trail, and great places to have a drink or a meal. The house is very private, on a winding dirt road one block long between paved streets off the main road to Woods Hole. In the gravel parking area next to the house there is room for 3-4 cars.

All of the house and garden are available to guests except for owners' items and supplies in storage in the basement in shelving, cabinets, and refrigerator, which are not available to guests and clearly marked as such.

Other things to note
1. The house is most comfortable for 2-4-6 people.
2. There is an annual invasion of tiny sugar ants in July. No way to seal them out of houses. Ant traps and spray provided in abundance. They don't bite.
2. There are window AC units in each bedroom, so you will be able to escape the terrible, humid heat of July. Most of the rest of the year, air conditioning is not necessary and the fresh air is wonderful!

Three upstairs bedrooms for a lovely family stay. Downstairs includes a well-appointed chef's kitchen, living room for all to gather, dining room and small office. The home includes two full baths (one tub, one shower) plus an outdoor shower. The front yard has a grill and patio seating for outdoor dining on warm nights, plus two Adirondack chairs- the perfect spot to curl up with a book or chat with friends. The space
Our house is bright and airy. It's air conditioned, a rarity for a rentals on School Street. It's close to everything, but quiet enough to enjoy dinner outside or meditate in the secluded back yard. We just park the car and enjoy living life on foot.

Everything except the garages. There are closets for your use, but we keep storage spaces under the roof eaves locked, and there is a locked owner's closet in the basement.

Other things to note
This is a year-round house. It is insulated and has both heat and air conditioning.

On the Sunday morning of the Falmouth Road Race, School St. closes to traffic early, but opens as soon as all runners are off, usually by 10:30 AM. If you need to drive anywhere, plan to leave before or after the closing. Please check the race website for updated information. Buses drop off the runners along School St and they walk down Milfield St to the starting line.

The home is located in the heart of downtown Woods Hole. You can walk to Pie in the Sky, the Landfall, and all the other shops and restaurants. The home is a five minute walk to the ferry from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard. Great for a day trip to the island! Less than a mile from Stoney Beach and Nobska Beach.

The space
This is 4 a bedroom home. The main bedroom is on the first floor with three bedrooms on the second floor. There is a full bath on first and second floors. Washer and dryer in the home as well. Full kitchen. Outdoor patio space and a lovely flower garden.

Stay in our lovely solar powered air-conditioned home, which is steps away from the Shining Sea Bike Path and the beach. This is a perfect Falmouth Road Race rental as you can watch the runners from the porch. Woods Hole Village is about a mile away on the bike path.
You can also walk to the ferry for a day trip to Martha's Vineyard. Or, just relax on the screened porch and listen to the birds.
Please note that this is a Saturday to Saturday rental in the summer.

The space
We love our Woods Hole home and hope you do too. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms (each has a double bed and a twin bed), one bathroom with shower, and a laundry room. Please note that one of the bedrooms does not have a bedroom door, but does have a privacy curtain. On the second floor there is a deck, a screened porch, kitchen, living room, bathroom with tub and shower, and a bedroom with a queen bed. There is air conditioning on both floors. To make kitchen cleanup easier, we have a garbage disposal and dishwasher. There is a Weber charcoal grill in the back yard, a gas grill on the kitchen deck, and an outdoor shower in the front. We have board games (Scrabble, Monopoly, and Risk), children's books, and beach towels.

You can bring or rent a bike at Corner Cycle. We are steps away from the Shining Sea bikeway (2 minute walk) and Fay beach (3 minute walk).
It's easy to walk or bike to the Martha’s Vineyard ferry or charming Woods Hole Village. Both are a little over a mile away on the bike path. The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) shuttle stops right outside our door, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s (WHOI) Quissett Campus is a short walk from our house.
Woods Hole is a scenic seaport with beautiful beaches, an aquarium, shops, old-fashioned ice cream parlors and restaurants. It is also a thriving intellectual community, home to WHOI, MBL and other scientific organization’s. In the heart of the summer, you can attend the Friday night lectures at MBL. Woods Hole also houses the Steamship Authority, which offers ferry service to the Martha’s Vineyard.
During a six week summer period (usually the month of July and the first two weeks of August) you can sign your children up for a three week session at the Children’s School of Science, attend children’s folk singing on Tuesday nights and folk dancing on Wednesday nights. Woods Hole Yacht Club also offers sailing lessons.

Beautiful modern masterpiece down a quiet street with quick access to Woods Hole, Shining Sea Bikeway, and the Vineyard ferry. This architecturally significant house was designed by the renowned postmodern architect Charles Moore and built in 1969. An addition providing ample entertaining space - including a dining room, den, loft, and roof deck - was completed in 2021, along with top to bottom refinishing of all rooms. This house has mid-century charm in spades with all the modern conveniences.

The space
The house offers 4 bedrooms each with a queen bed and private full bathroom, and each on its own level that provides ample privacy for those sharing this impressive house. The entrance opens into a foyer adjacent to an open concept kitchen with peninsula seating for 4. Continuing to the back of the house is a large dining room with a wet bar and custom designed dining table that comfortably seats 10, and can also function as a ping pong table (net, paddles, and balls provided!). Also on the main level is a full bathroom with shower stall, a laundry closet with washer and dryer, and the first bedroom. Adjacent to the main entrance, and three steps down, is a large bedroom with an en suite with shower/tub. Back in the kitchen, and past the coffee bar - complete with espresso machine, drip, and Keurig - is another bedroom that is down one flight and is adjacent to another full bath with shower stall. The master bedroom is found upstairs, part of a 4 room suite that includes a sitting room with desk and loveseat, designer bathroom, and a built-in twin sized day bed - perfect for younger ones.

Three staircases lead to the second floor (also a catwalk away from the upstairs bedroom) which offers plenty of room for your group to spread out: whether it’s reading a book at the cozy living room window seat while listening to the console record player, catching up on your streaming in the den, playing a game in the breakfast room, finishing a puzzle in the loft which includes a futon couch (up a spiral stair), or enjoying the roof deck (accessible via ship’s ladder) with panoramic views of Martha’s vineyard and surrounding waters. Adjacent to the den are bookcases full of games and books for your enjoyment, and a powder room. Additional outdoor space is off the main entrance: a lit peastone patio with outdoor table seating for 4 and a pair of Adirondack chairs to relax in. An outdoor shower rounds out the exterior amenities.

The house is equipped with three zone central air conditioning, 4K streaming Roku TVs in each bedroom, high speed internet, and a fully equipped kitchen that includes microwave, dishwasher, and 5 burner gas range. An outdoor 50 amp outlet is available for charging your electric vehicle.

The neighborhood is quiet with minimal street traffic, but provides quick and easy access to all that you want from your Cape vacation: a 4 minute walk (0.2 miles) to the Shining Sea Bikeway, 10 minute walk (0.5 miles) to downtown Woods Hole, 12 minute walk (0.6 miles) to the Martha’s Vineyard Ferry, a 7 minute bike ride to Surf Drive beach via the Bikeway, and a 7 minute drive to downtown Falmouth.

The house, the common areas, and bedrooms are split on several levels with many stairs leading between, and may not be optimal for young children or those with limited mobility.

You’ll love our home because it is newly-renovated, with spectacular views of Mill Pond, and given its tranquil, yet very central location, including a unique ambiance and diversity of locals. New for 2020: we have installed a whole-house, backup generator so that the house will never lose any power, even in the event of storm-related damage to the Cape electric grid.

We love Woods Hole and think you will too! It has a truly unique ambiance and mix of tranquility, as well as accessibility. Once you park (or arrive via express bus from Boston), you will find everything you need within a short walk. These are approximate walking distances: Stoney Beach (2 minutes); Woods Hole park and playground (3 minutes); center of town and Aquarium (5 minutes); and Martha's Vineyard ferry, the start of the Shining Sea Bikeway , the shuttle to Falmouth Center, and the bus stop (7 minutes). Stoney Beach is famous for its gentle slope to the warm Buzzards Bay waters, which is perfect for children, and adults, alike. We provide both adult and children's kayaks and a paddle board which can easily be carried for use off of the beach (with adult supervision of children). Families, in particular, will enjoy the easy access to the park, including play structure, swings, beach volleyball, tennis courts, and baseball diamond. At the Aquarium, guests can check out the sea lions and some of the work of the local marine biologists. In town, there are wonderful restaurants, including Captain Kidd, the Landfall, and Pie in the Sky (whose made-from-scratch bread pudding is out of this world!). Those who like to bicycle will be especially happy at our home, not only given the beauty of Woods Hole and surrounding areas, but also because it is the start of the 10-mile-long Shining Sea Bikeway, which passes along the ocean, cranberry bogs and beautiful salt sea ponds and marshes. Day trips to Martha's Vineyard are easy from Woods Hole, whether on foot or on bike. The ferry leaves regularly and only costs approximately $10 each way.

Our home was newly-renovated and includes high speed internet, and 2 large screen televisions with lots of free channels, including HBO. The home is complemented throughout with original artwork from artists featured in the French gallery, Carre d'artistes. The furnishings are all brand new and feature a large sectional sofa and dining room chairs, all upholstered in supple leather.

One only has to look out the window or off the deck to take in the wildlife present in and around Mill Pond, a location popular with bird watchers. Enjoying the view is made easy by the comfortable deck dining table and adjacent BBQ gas grill.

Ours is a quiet street, however, our lot is small and our living space is on the second story and practically on top of Mill Pond. For these reasons, we wish to stress the importance of adult supervision of small children to ensure a safe and enjoyable vacation.

The king size bed in the master bedroom suite faces the sitting area and the triple window looking out towards the private back garden. A generously proportioned Albert & Victoria freestanding soaking tub and oversized walk in shower completes the spa like feel of the en suite master bathroom.

The second bedroom, also with an en suite bath, offers a queen size bed with private garden views, and a daybed perfect for leisurely afternoon naps. Wall mounted flatscreen TV in both of the main bedrooms.

The third bedroom on the main floor is a smaller bedroom currently set up with a crib. Adjoining is a separate bath with a windowed walk in shower and striking black tiles.

On the lower level the fourth bedroom has its own separate entrance, and its own private patio. Set up with a very comfortable oversized custom twin sofa bed, a flat screen TV, and a desk, this room is perfect for the guest who wants some additional privacy or needs to do some on line work from home. A windowed bathroom with a walk in shower, and a small undercounted fridge completes this separate bedroom suite.

We have taken great care to use material with low VOC in the house. The HVAC system have HEPA filters.

There is a water filtration system for the whole house, and an additional filtration for drinking water located in the smaller faucet on the kitchen island.

Absolutely no pets or smoking is allowed at the house.

The Airplane House is located on a private peninsula, surrounded by the sea, with a commanding view of Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands. The house is ideally suited for family holidays or for inspiring retreats for a small team.

The house was designed by George Grant Elmslie, a contemporary and colleague of Frank Lloyd Wright, and is so named because it resembles a large biplane about to take flight.

The house is not winterized and does not have central heating. During shoulder seasons portable space heaters can be used for heating the bedrooms.
