A beautiful, remodeled 100+ year old home in the charming downtown area of Chelsea. Located near the new DTE bike trails, a short walk to downtown, and just minutes from great hiking in the Waterloo Recreation Area. We are located close to many local wedding venues as well! Our home will be spotless and well sanitized for your stay. We also provide snacks, water bottles, tea and coffee. If you need any baby or toddler items, we can provide things like baby gates, bed rail, pack n play, high chair, etc. A Christmas tree can be provided for holiday bookings.

The Space
We remodeled the entire home and kept the character, but blended in with a transitional style. We have a well-stocked kitchen for any cooking needs. We aim to make your stay comfortable and well-stocked, so you get more than a starter pack of supplies for your stay. We have a Smart TV in the family room that has a Netflix account for the house. We recently upgraded our listing from a 3 bedroom to a 4 bedroom property. There are now 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed on the main level with a door to a handicap accessible bathroom. There are some kid safety outlet covers on some plugs. A high chair and baby gate can be provided for the top of the stairs if requested.

Outside
There is a front and backyard camera and the house rules of quiet after 10 pm are enforced. NO fires or outside gatherings after midnight. Our neighbors and cameras both notify us of any problems not regarding city noise ordinance and house rules.

There is a gas grill, an outdoor firepit with 8 chairs along with string lights, and a play area for kids. We can provide secure bike storage in our shed for those biking in the area. You can walk from our backyard to the Clock Tower area, Grateful Crow or Jet's Pizza, and downtown to explore several fun shops and yummy food options.

Guest access
The upstairs and main level are all available except for the areas locked. We ask that you stay out of the unfinished basement. There is closet and drawer space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The items in the kitchen on the top two shelves in the upper cabinets and everything in small china cabinet are not to be used.

Other things to note
Prefer two-night stays on weekends.

Trash pick up is Tuesday and recycle pick up is Thursday. You may hear the trucks in the morning on those days.

During the Summer, Sounds & Sights is on Thursday nights, featuring live music and other family and kid activities throughout downtown. The town is busy this night, so be mindful of that when making dinner arrangements.

This entire area is naturally scenic along with miles of hiking and biking trails that run along/through the chain and connecting recreation areas. Patterson Lake is all sports. Our home is fully furnished with all modern amenities. 2 Kayaks and 1 paddle board, large canoe, rafts and beach toys to use. 60' dock. All Hardwood flooring. This is our home, not a rental property, so you will find all the amenities for a comfortable visit. The full kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a blender, Cuisinart, slow cooker and everything else you need to prepare meals. The gas Weber grill in the large yard is also available. A washer and dryer, along with laundry detergent are in the basement. Guests may use the condiments, herbs and spices, and paper goods. Please help yourself to the Keurig coffee and tea provided.

This is a pet-friendly home. Please tell us if you are bringing any and the breed and size. There is a $50 additional fee per pet per stay.

In an effort to keep our rates lower, the base rate for our home covers the rental for 2 guests. There is a nightly surcharge of $25 for each additional guest. We do this to keep the rates lower for smaller groups. More guests means more wear & tear and more work for the cleaning crew.

Bedroom suite contains Queen bed, Dresser, TV, Mirror, lamp & walk in closet. There is another queen bed, a couch and a love seat in the rec room for an extra couple guests and if you have an air mattress, there is plenty of floor space for all your friends!
The space
The house itself is out in the country, a few miles south of the Village. You can almost see the neighbors houses, depending on how many leaves are in the trees!

The entire basement is about 1700sf with a wet bar, projector for DVD’s and a fairly well stocked kitchenette ( no stove in the basement, but you can use the kitchen upstairs if you want).
Guest access
Even though I reside here on the ground floor, you will have access to whatever you need. There's a wet bar in the basement with a fridge and microwave, but you are welcome to use the kitchen upstairs. I have all the standard kitchen equipment, almost anything you could ask for. Relax and watch a DVD on the 12 foot Projector downstairs or use the 50" TV in your bedroom for Dish Network. Free Laundry is upstairs. Gas grill on the back patio on standby for whoever wants to use them, and can be warmed up within a few minutes.

Internet access available, speeds depend on the weather, though!

I have 3 dogs, which I will keep separate from you. I have a fenced in back yard to keep them separate from your pets and there are baby gates in the house. With that in mind, your pets are always welcome, provided you clean up after any unexpected accidents!
Other things to note.

Your pets are welcome, as long as you can clean up after them, in case they get so excited that they have a little accident!

I have a few pets myself, but they are all pretty friendly. Storm is a 8yo 20# blind Jack Russell/pit mix, who barks at everyone including me, but warms up to you pretty quickly. I recently adopted twin boy Corgi/Rottie mixes 18mo old Thor and Loki, saved them from a shelter.

4yo Mr. Cutie is my tiger stripe cat, and he doesn’t really care about me, so he probably won't even socialize with you, if you even see him! Don't be offended!

Two goldfish-Mustache and Nemo- don’t worry about them…they stay in their tank most of the time. And then Shelly the snail is a new addition to the tank.

<3 miles from a grocery store, the post office, 2 pizza joints, a bar, a pharmacy, 2 gas stations, a hardware store, a salon, and a barber shop.

Big Wolf Lake and Little Wolf Lake are just a few miles South of the house and Grass Lake is just a few miles North of the house.

- "This was my second time staying at Matthew's and I must say he really outdid himself! He was very accommodating when dealing with an issue beyond his control (power outage). He sourced a generator in a matter of hours and even made a trip to town to purchase a special cord. Now onto the property... it's great! The rental area consists of a spacious open basement with a small private bedroom (with a closet bigger than some NYC apartments), huge bar/kitchenette, cozy living room and workspace area, an extra bed perfect for movie time snuggles and modern bathroom with lots of towels and even fuzzy robes. There is a projection screen and movies abound for a rainy day. I didn't get to use it but I'm sure Matthew picked out some good flicks for his guests. The pièce de résistance is the hot tub, a high tech super soaking experience! With enough dexterity, you could orchestrate your own Pink Floyd light show in the bubbles. I can't not mention the doggos! Have you ever seen a rottweiler/corgi mix pup? There's two of them! The dogs barked a bit, but it didn't affect our stay one bit. 10/10! We'd love to visit again!"

Relax in our clean, private, bright & spacious one-bedroom apartment/guest suite, attached to but completely separate from our house, with it's own private deck and entrance. Vaulted ceilings, skylights, full kitchen w/dishwasher, full bath, washer/dryer, in a quiet yet close-to-town setting. Nature all around. **Guests must drive on approximately 1.5 miles of unpaved road to get here!**

Welcome to Yurt at Waterloo! (formerly Yurt at Havenswood) Very peaceful and private Yurt in the heart of the Waterloo Recreation Area Grass Lake, Michigan. This 16' Yurt sits on a 12 acre wooded lot. Perfect way to get the camping experience without being on top of your neighbors. You will not find a quieter place with so many great things to do within 10 minutes.
We are surrounded by hundreds of miles of trails in the Waterloo Conservation area. Maps provided. There is a trail head on our street a few hundred feet from the yurt. You will have a private driveway and parking area. Plenty of privacy for campfire nights and deck lounging while enjoying the sounds of nature. You will not find more private camping and serenity!
The yurt sleeps a maximum of 4 adults, with twin size bunk beds and a full size futon. The 8 foot picnic table compliments the fire pit with grilling grate. Rustic outdoor living at its finest. Very clean outhouse near Yurt.
Private drive and parking
We completely respect the needs and desires of our guests. We are available if ever they need anything, but we have also done our best to create a totally private environment.
We are in the center of so many popular Michigan hot spots. We are 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor and 45 minutes south of Lansing. We are 15 minutes east of downtown Jackson, and just minutes from the quaint downtown of Grass Lake.
As far as our Neighborhood goes, we are in the Waterloo Preservation Area. Surrounded by hundreds of miles of hiking, running and biking trails. The Portage Lake Campground is only 5 minutes away with lots of options for swimming, boating, fishing, disc golf and other outdoor type festivities, along with a beach and private showers during season.
There is also the small Welch Lake less than .5 miles away that is fantastic for fishing, small boat, and kayaking. Kayaks and trailer provided for a fee.

As dog lovers, we welcome you to bring up to 2 furry friends! BUT... common courtesy is a must. This includes picking up waste (bags provided) and not leaving them unattended in Yurt. If you have dogs over 50 lbs, contact owner for possible exceptions. Both of our dogs are over 50 lbs, so we get it... :)

We are also less than 10 minutes away from the Sandhill Crane Winery which has beautiful views, live music, and great wine and food.

We DO NOT have electricity or running water. If running water is needed, please ask. We do have battery powered lighting and lanterns, but guests encouraged to bring their own. We provide clean sheets and bedding on the mattresses. Drinking water provided. Trash bags provided.

- "Wow is all I can say about our trip to the yurt! We had such a wonderful time and mase so many amazing memories with our kids! The yurt is exactly as described. It had a futon and 2 bunk beds, perfect for my husband 2 kids and I. The space was clean and all we needed for the long weekend. We love rustic camping ( no running water or electricity) so this was perfect for us. We cooked over the fire for all our meals. There is a cooking grate over the fire which was helpful. There was plenty of seating around the stone fire pit. If you want the sound of nature and isolation this is for you! At night when all the lanterns are off you are in total darkness which we though was cool! There is a string of battery powered lights around the inside of the yurt which we liked at night which is basically like the light of the moon. Tons of things to do in the area. Lots of canoe liveries about 35-55 minutes away. Easy to get to for a day trip! Lastly our hosts were beyond easy to get a hold of and were very helpful through the booking as well as the entire trip! Highly recommended this property! We hope to stay again!"

Welcome to RoJo's Riverside Retreat, where there are so many things for you to do! The home has two bedrooms, with a queen size bed in each. There is one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The living room has a gas fireplace to keep you warm and cozy.

We are renting out the upper level of our house/duplex. We live in the lower unit. Each unit has private, separate entry. The patio overlooks the beautiful Huron River in Dexter. The house is located just half a block to the historic Dexter Cider Mill(seasonal). It is just a short walk (1/4 mile) to downtown Dexter for coffee, brew pubs, restaurants, and shops. The Encore Theater is wonderful venue for musical theater lovers to take in a show. The house is just 8.5 miles from the University of Michigan Stadium.

Explore the beautiful Huron River, bring your canoe, kayak, paddle board, or tube. Skips Livery is also available to provide you with a relaxing day on the river. Enjoy a bonfire, and take in the spectacular view! The Border to Border (B2B) Trail is just a short walk or bike ride away.

While you're enjoying the large patio soaking in the view and sunshine, there is a hot tub for you to melt your stress away.
