Be sure to venture out on Third in the Burg, the 3rd Friday of each month when local galleries and venues open their doors late into the evening to celebrate the local arts scene. You also are less than half a mile from the absolutely majestic Pennsylvania State Capitol which offers free tours every half hour during the day. Catch a Senators baseball game on City Island or bask in the glow of the fireworks as you sit on the steps along Riverfront Park. Our house is 20 minutes to Hershey Park, 10 minutes from hiking trails, within walking distance to the train station to get to Philly/ New York/ DC etc. You really cannot beat this location!

The Master bedroom is blessed with a 4 poster king-sized bed and huge walk in closet. The eastern-facing windows let the most pristine morning light in in the mornings. On the other hand, if you like to sleep in, our black-out shades will keep it dark and cozy. Black-out shades and high-end linens provided in every bedroom.

The back bedroom has a queen bed and a smart TV, great for occupying the kids.

The loft bedroom boasts a queen bed and a seating area for hanging out separately from the group. The 100% down mattress futon can fold out to become a 4th bed, so luxurious, it may win out as the most comfortable place to sleep in the house.

There are usually plenty of spaces right outside the front door. Parking on N 2nd Street directly in front of the home is metered Monday thru Saturday from 8 am until 7 pm.

Parking on State Street (1/2 block from home) is metered 8am-5pm.

It is okay to park on the Street overnight (no charge from 7pm til 8 am).

On Saturdays, there is a code for free parking using the ParkMobile app and entering promo code LUVHBG.

Parking is Free on Sundays and holidays. Check the ParkHarrisburg website for more information.

The South Street Garage is less than 1 block from the home.

This is a historical home and has the character of an old home. The stairs from the second to third floors are old, steep and creaky. We plan to update those stairs in of October 2025. Our home is located near train tracks. The train can be heard periodically throughout the day and night.

Welcome to the The Apartment at Engle’s Place! Our beautiful 3-story city home was built in 1910 in the Queen Anne’s style. This unit is the third story apartment that has recently been fully remodeled and is styled in the mid-century modern design. With views of the Susquehanna River and being within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, the river trail and much more, this is a perfect vacation rental to enjoy the best of what Harrisburg has to offer.

The Space:
The Apartment at Engle’s Place is an open and spacious third-story apartment that is well suited to hosting a single guest or a small group.

The main bedroom has a King size bed with a smart tv in the room. There is also a Queen size pull out mattress in the living room and a Queen size blow-up mattress that can be set up in the bedroom or the living room if needed.

The apartment has a gourmet kitchen with everything a guest would need for cooking and eating in (appliances, dishwasher, utensils, pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker, wine glasses, etc...) The fridge has a selection of condiments, and coffee and tea are provided.

The dining room, living room, and kitchen are part of an open floor plan. There is a smart tv in the living room that can connect to any of your streaming accounts. There is also an electric fireplace in the living room making it that much more of a cozy environment to hang out in.

The apartment has a private entrance at the back of the house. Please note: there are two long staircases up to the apartment.

Guest Access:
This unit has access to the back patio where there is a full sized BBQ grill available for cookouts. Both units have access to this space, so it is treated as first come, first serve.

3-bedroom / 2.5 bath home located in the heart of downtown Harrisburg. Walking distance to the Capitol and the best restaurants/bars/coffee shops in the city. My home includes a working office space in the sunroom, an artist's loft in the attic, and an enclosed patio complete with a grill. This home is only a short drive from destinations like Hershey or Gettysburg. I've put a lot of love and detail into my home and I hope you enjoy it.

Details:
Two bedrooms and two full baths are located on the second floor. There is a third bedroom in the attic. The first floor has a living room, a sunroom/office space, and dining room, a full kitchen, and a half bath. Lastly, there is an enclosed patio on the first floor for you and your friends/family to enjoy.

I have two reserved parking spots in a lot behind the house that you will have access to. Street parking is free after 5pm for the weekend. I can provide details for street parking during the week if required.

This room is a private room in a 4 bedroom house. You will share a full kitchen with 3 other people. Everyone is expected clean up after cooking and eating.

I have a cleaner come in every other Thursday to do a deep clean of the common areas but again, guests must clean up after themselves. No dishes should ever be left in the sink for over 5 mins to soak.

Also, there is cooking pots and pans for general use.

This is more like having roommates, it is not like your average Airbnb. We are for the budget savvy and friendly folks. We are for the wanderers , the explorers, and for the overnighters. If you are expecting a hotel-like stay, this is NOT the place for you. Please read below for what to expect.......

Our property is more like staying with roommates or a friend's house. Where you have your own unshared room and share the common areas. Such as the kitchen, living room, dining room and rest room. Due to this "co-habitation" set-up, the prices for this type of stay are more affordable. The "do it by yourself and clean up after yourself" roommate mentality creates a totally different atmosphere than your average hotel. The environment is much more laid-back and relaxed.

What to expect
The expectation is that all of the guests will be peaceful and friendly to one another. In order to make the atmosphere harmonious. Expect a mixture of guests, some may be long term stays and some may be one night roadtrippers who just needed a place to crash, and will hit the road at the crack of dawn. You will barely know they were there. If you are thinking of moving to the area or on a short term work assignment this property will be the perfect place for you.

Once you arrive at "The Store House", you get the opportunity to bond with other fellow guests. Share coffee and share travel stories. Look out for one another. The great thing about staying here is that even if you are traveling alone, you have the opportunity to have a social experience. Once again we do not pretend to be a five-star hotel.

“The Store House" consists of four private rooms. The kitchen, and bathroom (all of which are shared). The room is a private room that only you have access to. The room can accommodate 2 guests.

**NOTE: NO Pets, NO service animals: This listing is for a private room in a shared house with other guests. Per Airbnb policy, hosts must accept service animals without question when a guest is renting an entire place. However, when the guest is renting a shared listing, hosts are not required to accept the service animal.

This is for the safety of the animal and Airbnb guests. When cooking do not leave the stove unattended as that is a safety hazard. Any damage caused by your negligence you will be reported and charged for any damages incurred.

Bathroom Area
Please ensure to lock the door when you enter the bathroom as it is a shared area. There are cleaning supplies for your use. Please make sure to clean up after yourself. Please do not put feminine products, wipes down the toilet. Please only flush toilet paper.
