It offers a number of pubs, some serving food, shops and a golf course, all surrounded by countryside. A number of fine towns rest nearby, including Ilkley and Skipton, offering much to see and do. Meanwhile, the Dales is a landscape abundant in outdoor opportunities.

- "We liked the cottage very much -- it's characterful and tastefully done up. It's mostly very comfortable and well-equipped, though there is an almighty draught that comes through the letter box! Previous guests had raised issues about recycling, the wobbly bannister and taps etc. that have not been addressed. Our main issue was parking: we had been told that there was a "designated" space opposite, but there isn't: sometimes it's available, but usually we had to park elsewhere."
