Nestled on the top of its own hill, Villa Le Perchoir (“The Perch”) offers complete privacy as it is hidden from the neighbors’ view by its elevation and trees on the south side. The villa provides sweeping views of the Colombier and Flamands landscape on the east and west sides, and from its beautiful open deck on the north side a cooling breeze and a stunning ocean view of Flamands Beach.

Located on the north side of St. Barth, Villa Le Perchoir is ideally located about a mile from the airport and town of St. Jean, and a mile and a half from the town of Gustavia. It is close to most of the island’s many points of interest, including world-class shopping, beautiful beaches, and a host of other activities all within a radius of three miles.

Designed to welcome two guests, the villa is on one level, built on a family property about three hundred meters from the public road. The private drive used for access is shared with neighbors who are all part of the owner’s family, with the nearest the owner himself one hundred meters down a hill. Its exceptional location gives Villa Le Perchoir the advantage of great privacy and quietness not often found on the island.

Coming into the villa, you have a large terrace with blinds where you can relax in a hammock or lounge chairs, or tan under the open sky while your meat or fish is grilling on the BBQ. From this terrace, you have access to the very large living-dining-kitchen area with views of the ocean through our sliding glass doors which run the length of the room.

The inviting living area features a comfortable sofa and chairs in front of a flat screen TV, so you can keep up with the world wide news, look at your favorite DVD or listen to your preferred music via our satellite TV, radio/CD/DVD/BLUE RAY/IPOD dock station surround sound system. The villa has internet wifi access for those of you who wish to stay connected with your laptop. Between the living area and the kitchen is a dining table which we predict you’ll rarely use because you’ll usually choose to eat outside on the gorgeous deck (described below) overlooking the ocean.

The kitchen is fully furnished. You will find utensils, cutlery and many appliances including a microwave, coffee-maker, blender, toaster, table water-heater, etc. The kitchen has an electric stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker, and dish-washer. Fortunately, we practically never have power cuts, but if that should occur Villa Le Perchoir has a no-noise automatic generator which takes over, so your meals and happiness are not interrupted. We want you to “Be Happy!”

The bedroom is spacious and lovely with a king bed, dressing table and a large closet. It is air-conditioned and also has a silent ceiling fan; if you prefer room temperature, the window and sliding glass door are equipped with screens through which the ocean breezes gently blow. The bathroom adjoins the bedroom and has a large two sink mirrored vanity with a generous shower area and lots of hot water. The villa has daily maid service with fresh towels Monday-Saturday. Walking out from the bedroom, you have direct access to both the terrace and the large, covered wrap-around deck.

The deck runs the length of the villa and has open views of the landscape on the west and a sweeping ocean view over Flamands Beach on the north and north-east sides. On the north side of the deck is a hammock, large dining table and chairs adjacent to the kitchen, comfortable lounge chairs, sun beds, and a hot tub, all overlooking the ocean. From the deck you can see the always changing blue of the sea and several islands and islets, including St-Maarten, Anguilla, Tintamarre, Fourchue, and more. You’ll never tire of this amazingly colorful view, and you’ll likely spend a lot of time on the deck enjoying the St. Barth life!

The guesthouse was built to welcome family and friends and is perfect for couples looking for an authentic, charming, comfortable and affordable St. Barth experience.

The small village of Saint Jean is centrally located and just minutes to the most beautiful beaches of Saint Barthélemy by car, as well as supermarkets and pharmacies. On foot, down the hillside, guests can walk to the beaches of Saint Jean, Eden Rock Hotel and restaurants, Nikki Beach and the many boutiques of Saint Jean.

The wooden guesthouse was recently built by local craftsman in the typical St. Barth style, with an exposed wooden roof and wooden shingles, and the doors and windows were refurbished from a old traditional house that was recently demolished. The main structure is painted in white and earth tones and decorated with remnants of the family boating history.

The kitchenette and bathroom are on the main level off the central living room. There is a small table for breakfast and light meals, and a daybed which can be made into a double bed. A spiral staircase leads to a large comfortable bedroom with oversized queen bed (180cm), OR two single beds (90cm x 2), walk in closet and washing machine. The house will be comfortable for a maximum of three adults. Children are welcome (although we caution about a loft like opening and a spiral staircase) and we can loan a boogie board, mask, fins and games/toys to children under 11.

All house linens and beach towels are included. Linens and towels are normally changed once a week. There’s a private washing machine in the cottage for guest use. Additional personalized housekeeping services can be arranged in advance. If you have special needs or specific requests, just let us know.

The cottage is situated in a small tropical garden with partial views of the sea. We are currently in the process of replanting the private garden following hurricane Irma. Guests will find an outdoor table and sun shade as well as a sitting area.
