Perfect stop on way to NYC!" - "This home was perfect for us - four adult siblings (some with partners) and adult children in their 20s for a reunion following a family event. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms (2 private and 2 shared full baths plus a powder room) and the main floor has a nice big kitchen for food preparation. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms nice and clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking for a large group. We were able to add extra chairs from the kitchen so all 10 of us could eat together in the dining room. The living room was a great place for hanging out, playing games, completing jigsaw puzzles and visiting. The back deck/porch makes this property a beautiful and relaxing place - - it is large with enough seating for several groups to sit out and chat while enjoying the view of the salt marsh (with lots and lots of birds) and the ocean beyond. The neighborhood was quiet and the location at the end of the road, felt somewhat secluded and private. While we did not use the backyard it would be a good place for corn hole or other backyard games. We found two cut-throughs to walk to the rocky beach which was nice for walks. Walking on the shore away from Pt. Judith led to a sandier beach. We were here in early June mid-week and it was virtually empty. We enjoyed dinner out at George's restaurant and and a ferry trip over to Block Island to stroll about there and see the small museum. We had a very good experience and would definitely return."

Milford, CT has for well over 100 years had a thriving summertime beach community. This is an original vintage beach cottage that has evolved through the years to a darling year round home. But summertime is the best time of all. The history with photos of this wonderful cottage is posted for you to see.

A stand alone cottage with a driveway and small beautiful fenced yard, relaxing on the beach close by or on the ample deck is delightful. There is a communal parking lot steps away where you may park another car. This 954 sq. ft. home has two stories and a basement. There is one bathroom with a sweet clawfoot tub on the first floor off the kitchen. In this bathroom is a lovely vintage cut glass circular window above the toilet.

The kitchen is more than well equipped with a gas stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, countertop oven and a combination full and one cup coffee maker. Pots and pans, regular and plastic dinnerware and glasses are available. The center island with butcher block top is handy for food prep and making sandwiches for the beach! Speaking of the beach you can be on the beach with a 3 minute walk! The refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker that will makes lots of ice and a freezer for your summertime treats.

The living room has a wall mounted TV, recliner chairs and and couch that opens to a queen size bed.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms with the master having an en suite bathroom with good size shower. The bed is queen size. Access to a deck off this bedroom gives you a place to unwind with a beverage or watch the stars, even fireworks from the beach on holidays!

The other bedroom has a trundle bed that makes for one or two twin beds.

Breezes off the beach are wonderful, but the cottage has air conditioning for perfect comfort all the time.

The owner has left lots of information about the area and summertime events, fun places to see, do and eat! Or you can just lounge on the beach...your choice, of course!

This 2 bed / 1 bath home is situated on a lovely little street in Milford’s Woodmont area. Our inspiration for this Bungalow comes from the surf shacks in beach towns around the world.

The boardwalk is only a 5 minute walk away and you can find some of the best restaurants in downtown New Haven just 15 minutes away (New Haven style pizza is a must while in CT!). (There are a dog and three cats in residence but they are never allowed in the guest room.) There is an off street parking space. It is also possible to arrive via train--the house is a short cab ride (1.1 mile) or a 20 minute walk from the station. Milford is two stops from New Haven on MetroNorth Railway so easy to get to Yale or other New Haven locations if your stay in the area is academic/business related. Gulf Beach offers lovely swimming in the Long Island Sound. Guests are welcome to take beach chairs from the house. There are many, many restaurants in the area and some within walking distance. A large mall and movie theaters are a few miles away. Whether here for business or pleasure, Milford is in a great part of Connecticut.

Each bedroom along with the living room area has their own separately controlled mini-split to control the temp of each room. The full kitchen does not have an oven but we do provide a microwave, toaster oven (air fryer) and a two burner hot plate for simple meals. Newly added is a brand new washer/ dryer available for guests exclusive use. The outside area (shared with the owners) includes the pool (in season), gazebo sitting area, and yard (with wooded area and pond). Enjoy the walking trails (next door) and watching the wildlife.

When you enter the driveway you will see the doors to the apartment on your left. Drive further up and park in the gravel area on the right. Note the sign for guest parking. There is room for 2 cars. You'll enter the apartment using the keyless code you will receive after booking. The first area you enter is a mudroom. Feel free to hang your coat and remove shoes if you desire. The next door opens to the spacious apartment.

Our dog Cooper is on an invisible fence. He is extremely friendly and loves to meet new people. Please don't try to call him over his "fence line" as he has learned to stay nicely in his allowed areas. With that said, Cooper is allowed in the backyard and goes in and out of the house during the day. He does not enter the apartment at any time

Hi....just want to be totally open with the reader....in regard to the sleeping options shown below.... They are NOT your fancy feather beds or mattresses...for the average person, i would say they are good enough for a few days or so...if you are younger side, you probably could sleep on them for weeks...for someone older like me (60 years old), after a three or four days, i would miss my real bed....with that said, i am not trying to discourage you, but want you to be aware....with that said, for short stays that we have hosted so far, no folks have complained and have been happy with our arrangements that we have...read on....


THIRD FLOOR SLEEP OPTIONS: Note: The third floor is what we like to refer to as our Fun Room. This area has a kitchenette and massage chair, and jacuzzi tub in its own third floor bathroom. It also has a 60-inch TV and side and back outdoor decks to sit and relax on to watch the sunrise or sunset. Hooked to the TV, we have PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Wii. We also have Oculus II virtual reality headset which is pretty cool we think.

Sleep Location #1 (2 people): Burrow Sleeper Sofa - This is a queen size pull-out couch which is pretty comfortable and rests on the floor when you set it up for sleeping, else comfy couch.

Sleep Location #2 (2 people ): This is a "full size fold out couch. It's not as comfortable as the previous Burrow sofa, but we place a memory foam cushion over it when ready for sleep and the last person who stayed over said it was fine. Note if you are 6 feet tall or more, might be tight for you, but you could crash on the reclining sectional couch as an option.

Sleep Location #3 (2 or 3 people)
- Two adults could sleep on the third floor Sectional Couch which has three built in reclining modes

Other things to note
Here at our location, we have most everything you need and may want to do within very short walking distance and or even a longer 1 hour or so shoreline walk or so to downtown Milford….so so easy, no driving crazy Interstate 95 traffic or even busy Route 1 ...no NJ turnpike traffic jams.....no beach fee, so so easy...so so nice....

Nearby to the West of our home, you can walk in about 20 minutes or so to the Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center to see a lot of birds, and if you get lucky in the wintertime, see a snowy owl hanging out (saw a few last winters, none so far this year 2023). When the striped bass are running in April, fishermen come from an hour away to fish the Housatonic River at the Audubon Center. Dig clams on way back at the 3rd avenue sandbar, if you get a craving for them. One lucky fact is that the Audubon Center stops at a dead end of the main road Broadway, so there is really not much traffic in our area and no thru traffic. Only folks that live down where we are, drive the roads - Kind of nice!!

To the East of our home, if you walk down the main shoreline road by our house, you will find the Walnut Beach Creamery Ice Cream shop (seasonal), which sometimes has lines that are easily 30 or 40 people deep, because its super delicious! You will also see nearby Italian / pizza restaurant, seafood restaurants, salons, cafe, deli, Scoot and Paddle kayak /scooter /bike rental, and more.

Walk past these restaurants and shops for another 3 minutes and you hit beautiful Walnut beach which has grills to cookout on, picnic tables, and 5 volleyball courts on its beach. Keep walking to the left of Walnut beach and you continue on its boardwalk which takes you into Silver Sands State Park, which has a new concession stand where you can buy a lunch or snacks, and is propped up above ground about 20 feet or so, so you can sit up on the deck of the concession stand, and eat or hang out on the picnic tables and look at the beautiful views of Charles Island and if low tide, walk out on a sandbar to the island and probably see some goofy birds doing goofy bird stuff. Keep walking just a minute or so more, and you hit the Greek Spot restaurant on East Broadway Ave which serves (yup-you guessed it!) authentic Greek food and is very, very popular.

Away from the beach life, we have great restaurants and attractions about 3 miles away in a section of Milford called Devon. One of my favorite hangouts is the Dock Side Bar Restaurant about 2 miles away, which makes its own beer, and which has a beautiful layout which looks over the Housatonic River and very lively and has cornhole and other games to play while you eat. Another one of my favorites is about 2 miles away is Joey C's Boat house which routinely has music a few times a week. Many other bars and restaurants all around. Also, on Sundays, there is a farmers' market near this area. And nearby, there is Walmart, BJs, Shop Rite, Home Depot, Stop and Shop, McDonalds, etc... (And you are still only about 2 miles from our house!!!)

Also away, but very close to the immediate shoreline, one can take a bike or drive to our quaint downtown Milford. It has the longest green center in all of New England. It often has fairs on the weekends during summer.

We have security cameras that monitor the exterior of our property.

I am pretty sure that for most people, the stay here would be a really good time. Like I said, not an immaculate house, therefore not a worry about a scratch or two here or there or spilling something ...we are pretty easy and reasonable. Thx for reading and interest.

Also, if beach weather is not the best, hop on the Metro North train to New york city or to New Haven to see Yale and downtown.

Note that we only have WIFI as far as televisions go....So, that is, we have Hulu, Amazon Prime, and the usual free stuff you get with WIFI into your TV.

The house is at the end of the street, right next to the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, which is lovely. The house has lots of bird prints and shells, and has a very cozy cottage feel! I live there part time with my dog, who loves the beach, which is out the back gate about 20 yards. The house has water views and is super cozy and quiet - a great getaway spot or writers sanctuary! It's an old house with some quirks - there are some sticky windows and some old fixtures - but it all adds to the charm!

**Yale Guests** - Many guests stay with us due to close proximity to Yale (10 miles, 2 towns away). We are located in Milford which is quieter and more residential than New Haven. New Haven is easily accessible by car on I-95 or via a ~10-15 minute Uber. Please see our reviews for comments from Yale parents & visitors.

Other things to note
No smoking or parties. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor via a full flight of stairs and takes up the entire floor. This is a multifamily property with a unit above and below this unit.

Milford is a special city with lots of things to do from relaxing in the sun, to dancing the night away, to enjoying a myriad of concerts and events.

This RV has a full interior kitchen PLUS outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower to wash the sand off from the beach.

• PLEASE SETTLE YOUR PET FEES BEFORE ARRIVAL. We do not allow unregistered pets and unpaid pet fees into the property

• For all non-Airbnb reservations, we require guests to provide photos of their IDs along with a selfie holding the ID for registration purposes. This process ensures the safety and security of our guests and property. Please rest assured that all submitted information will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for verification purposes.

• Upon arrival park in the designated parking space in the empty driveway, 1 parking spot on the side of the house.

• You can street park at Brookdale Ave. Please follow all the street signs you will see just in case.

• Guests under the age of 25 are restricted from booking an entire home if they live locally and don’t have at least 3 positive reviews.

• Quiet hours from 10 pm - 8 am

• NO VAPING/SMOKING allowed whatsoever inside the property. This is strictly enforced. If cigarette butts are found inside, there will be a $250 charge for lingering interior smoke smell.

• Items Left Behind: Shipping starts at $25. For bigger items, costs may vary

• Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7
