What I didn’t like was no concierge - e.g. the links that were sent before I arrived (like grocery shopping via city market, which goes directly to Kroger) wasn’t relevant. I also don’t like that I was kicked out at 10 AM sharp on my day of departure after notifying the team that I needed another hour in advance because my flight was later and I couldn’t necessarily sit outside with 10 bags and three kids… I was told the other family requested early check in. People who are assisting Snowmass guests are in park city and don’t necessarily know aspen. Other than that I think the condo is great good location & the right price."

This home is surrounded by country and open views though not located far, just over a bridge, from the Intersection of HWY 82. The living room hosts a wonderful library of books, wood burning fireplace, 40" flat screen TV, and views. The TV, cable including premium channels, and I-net were upgraded in October 2020. The kitchen is fully stocked with an abundance of appliances, dishware and cook & bake ware including but not limited to microwave, toaster, single drink blender, drip & Keurig coffee pots, and crock pot. Separating the kitchen from the deck is a small dining room that seats up to 6. The deck over looks the river, has a café table and chairs set, umbrella, and propane grill. Master features King bed, Jacuzzi tub, flat screen TV, views, and sounds of the river. Guest bedroom features a double bed, a single bed, and 40" TV. Home sleeps 5. A pak'n'play, and baby gates are stored in the guest bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower; the hall has mirrored and lighted vanity with a second sink and a laundry closet with washer and dryer. The home has hair dryer, iron & ironing board, vacuum, fans, humidifiers and supplies.

This two bedroom is the top floor of a tri-plex that has 2 great and helpful long-term renters in the units below. There is a community viewing area at the edge of the river. Above is a picnic area with charcoal BBQ, garden swing, and table & chairs. From the property one can fish or walk to other nearby fishing spots, access a put-in, or continue and follow the River Walk Trail to Basalt. Often numerous and colorful rafters and kayakers negotiate the river. The riders & guides know a section of the river, just beyond the home, as “Toothache”. Above the home is the Rio Grande Trail used by spurts of bike riders.

A gentle path at the far end of the Commons hooks up with the River Walk Trail to Basalt along the shore of the Roaring Fork River. There is a beach and put-in before the River Walk Trail leads west. Check out trails down the road. From the front door, go left up the road to the sign: Aspen Glen Open Space. Take a left off road, then another left into a little parking area by river. There are trails and one leads to an island in the river. There are many other places to access the river from the property or nearby for fishing. A book on fishing the Frying Pan and articles on fishing are provided. Hiking trail books are also available.

IMPORTANT NOTATION: The home was built circa late 50's. The complete renovation of the vacation rental was finished in 1988. Since then, there have been many upgrades especially to TVs, I-net, plumbing fixtures, amenities, furnishings, and bedding. It is an older property having the ambiance of a paneled drawing room and does not offer the minimalistic furnishing or ambience that has been trending in recent years - - though some current (2023) divestment and newer purchases are modernizing the look and utility. New pictures will be posted as more and more is modernized and the atmosphere takes on a new character. There are typically inherent flaws with older homes regardless that repair and maintenance is routinely done and upgrades are an on-going process. If you are expressly looking for a rental that is new and trending the minimalistic style, please find exactly what you want. It is my hope that all guests and vacationers have a great stay in our wonderful, enchanting valley and enjoy serenity as well as the outstanding adventures each season offers.

The Aspen/Snowmass area is 14 miles east and Old Town Basalt/Willits are 4 miles west from the intersection of HWY 82. Carbondale is about 12 miles west and Glenwood Springs another 20 miles. There is year round shopping, dining, recreation, historical sites, tours, and events in Aspen, Snowmass Village, Old Town Basalt, Willits, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs. An expansive City Market and the new Whole Foods are at Willits. The RFTA buses stop at the HWY 82 intersection and travel both east and west.

Crossing the intersection of HWY 82 and continuing on Snowmass Creek Rd, takes one through Old Snowmass, up to Shield O Mesa, and to back roads to Snowmass Village. From the home and continuing East on Lower River Rd Woody Creek and the Woody Creek Tavern are 6 miles away.

The distance between Denver & Aspen is 198 miles. The estimated drive time is 3.5 hours. Please see driving instructions.

Wildlife, for example deer, elk, foxes, bears and coyotes have been known to wander through, so please do not leave food outside at night. The Chaparral Aspen Ranch horses enjoy spending time in the hills around the property. If tennis is your sport, you will appreciate the on-site court in the front of the main property. The views may take your eye off the ball however! The cabin sits 60 yards above the owner's main house so it is easy to contact them regarding the availability of tennis.

Located in the Luxury Snowmass Base Village Condos in Capitol Peak Lodge B. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath Condo Base Village Unit offers the best of ski-in, ski-out location in Snowmass. Just steps from the Base Village Mall with restaurants, shopping, and right between the Elk Camp Gondola and Snowmass 6 person Chairlift. The accommodations were clean and updated, beds super comfortable and linens excellent. Having a fully stocked kitchen was wonderful as we were often tired after skiing all day and opted to cook in. All in all- it was excellent! The owner went an extra step and mailed me back an item I had left. Was also very helpful and responsive. We would def recommend. Only watch out is that it is a little tricky to check in. Owner gives excellent instructions but you defiantly need to follow:)."

- "The unit is nicely updated and has everything you need for your stay. I appreciated the k-cup coffee very much and the balloon puzzle that we put together since the weather was not has warm and dry as we hoped for this time of the year. We drove to Aspen for the afternoon, easy drive. You do have to climb three flights of stairs to get to the unit as noted. It was so nice to have Snowmass mall with shops and restaurants less then five minute walk from the unit. Parking is indeed across the street but there is a loading zone right below the unit for easy unloading and reloading your car. Pro tip: if you plan to cook and have leftovers bring some foil, plastic wrap, or baggies. :-)"

The space
Our house is on the Roaring Fork river, and is great for catch and release fishing right off our back deck. The Airbnb guest room is called "The Italian Room" and has a queen size Simmon's Beautyrest pillowtop mattress for extra support and comfort. A private bathroom is attached to the guest room.

We occasionally (3-4 times a year) cat sit our neighbor's cat, Monty...so there will be cat dander in the house.

Guests will be given their own code to the keyless entry for the house 24 hours prior to arrival.

Guests are welcome to utilize their bedrooms/bathroom, main living room, dining room, great room, the mudroom for coats, shoes and boots.

There is a microwave and refrigerator in the mudroom for leftovers.

Guests are welcome to enjoy a "self- service" Continental breakfast. This may include bagels and cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, English muffins and jam & fruit. We offer coffee in 2 ways - a French press or a cooktop espresso coffee maker. We are happy to give instructions on how to utilize the coffee maker of your choice.

We are always available to our guests either in person, email, text or phone call.

Other things to note
We have a tankless water heater, and it takes a while for the hot water to reach the faucets and shower. You need to run the water for about a minute to have hot water, the upside is endless hot showers! Also, please wipe the grab bars and shower head and controller in the shower when done as we have very hard water.

In addition, we are a shoes off house and no shoes are allowed beyond the mudroom.

You can ski or walk up a short trail right onto Dawdler, an easy slope for beginners. To get down to the base of the Village, take the Express chairlift or Skittles chairlift. When the day is done, or you need a lunch break, simply click off your skis or boards and walk or ski down the same side trail to your rental! Guests are about 10 miles away from Aspen by car or town shuttle.
