Lee responded immediately and we booked it with ease. We've booked a lot of VRBOs and usually a few days prior to check in day you get an email with details about your stay. Lee was so proactive and communicative that he actually messaged me before the email came to let me know it would be coming and if I had not gotten the email in the next day or so to contact him directly. After a very long and hot Saturday on campus all day, it was such a relief to walk into this home. This is an older home that has been completely remodeled and updated while maintaining its original charm. It has hardwood floors throughout. It was incredibly clean and great care had been taken with attention to detail. There was MSU decor (not over the top) it was tastefully incorporated into the design. Even the square wooden drink coasters in the living room had a bull dog on each one. We did not walk to campus so I can't speak to the convenience there. But, this is a great home in a quiet neighborhood and an excellent retreat! My daughter loved feeding the chickens the next morning. They are in a coop so If you are not a fan - then you don't even have to interact with them. "

Awakening Spirit Retreat is a 3 Bedroom 2 Bath cabin that is located on 8 wooded acres that are yours to explore and hike during your stay. The cabin has a separate garage that has been closed in that is home to Awakening Spirit Massage Therapy and Hypnosis Monday through Friday. The entire cabin was originally used for the business until we closed off the garage so that we could live there during the construction of our home. Our new home is now complete and we wanted to share the simplicity and tranquility that we found while our family stayed in the cabin. The cabin has a covered front porch perfect for drinking your coffee and watching the wildlife as you wake up in the morning, an open back porch with plenty of seating, and a fire pit that is perfect for enjoying the sunset and a glass of wine. There is a game room in a separate building that has a dart board, pool table, and separate refrigerator. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen that has most of the basic utensils you will need, and a charcoal grill on the back porch. It has a central heat and A/C unit, as well as a wood burning fireplace with wood provided. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and adjoins a full bathroom. The second bedroom has a full size bed, and the third bedroom has a queen size bed with a twin bunk above.

Beautiful, cozy home built 1940, just two blocks from Main Street and a half-mile from MSU campus. Large living room with wooden archway into dining area, with original, refinished wooden floors throughout. In walking distance of over 16 restaurants, a coffee shop, a bakery, the library, and shops on Main Street. Convenient location for graduation, MSU sporting events, and Starkville community events.

The 'Birmingham Room': yes, this is Starkville, but we started our family in Birmingham, Alabama, and have included several Birmingham 'touches' in this room, which has 2 full beds.

The 'Palmeiro Room' was rented by MSU baseball legend Rafael Palmeiro when he was a student here and has 2 twin beds.

The Reading Nook is a study off the living room that is perfect for those times when you are looking for a quiet space to read, work, or make a phone call.

The Kitchen is large and equipped with essentials for cooking and hosting. The 'coffee corner' includes coffee, creamer, hot teas, and hot chocolate. Help yourself to any food you see.

About Starkville: Starkville is a lovely small town who is proud to be home to Mississippi State University. Our neighborhood, Oktibbeha Gardens, is one of the closest to campus. It is also extremely close and walkable to downtown (that is why we initially bought the home!). There are a variety of excellent restaurants nearby, including Southern BBQ, Soul Food, Thai Food, Indian Food, and locally-owned Starkville Favorites! We love to eat and are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.

A huge kitchen, table and bar to seat 10+ (there were only 7 of us at lunch but plenty seats!), cable for watching the Dawgs bring home the Golden Egg - couldn't ask for a better day!! Two full bathrooms! Three bedrooms - two with extra beds! So much space for the money. The driveway was a bit steep and narrow so if you have a big truck go slowly but it opens up to ample parking and a private backyard space! Close to everything, all amenities provided! This is an old 1920s home that has been divided into multiple units. This space is 1-A, the front door unit of the property. It is a single bedroom unit with a Queen bed and a pullout couch in the living room. Parking for larger vehicles is recommended to street park on Green Street or Hogan.

This is an old 1920s home that has been divided into multiple units. This space is unit 1-C, the unit inside the breezeway and up 6 stairs. It is a large open studio space with a queen bed and a large chaise longue.

The entire Unit is yours for the stay! Parking is on site but larger trucks are advised to park around the corner on Green Street.

The space
This cottage is located behind a main house (our mom’s), but everything at the airbnb is privately yours. You will have your own outdoor section & private entrance into your suite. The only thing shared is the driveway & yard.

This cottage comfortably situates 2 people, however, the futon is quite comfortable for a kid or someone under 6 ft & willing to accommodate an extra person if needed- please just let us know!

15 minutes from Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge.
15 minutes from Downtown Starkville.

Located in a quiet area with no traffic- just a lot of nature. You may see deer families & hear the hoots of owls on your stay here with us!!! Time to kick back & relax in the serenity.

This is an old 1920s home that has been divided into multiple units. This space is unit 2, the converted garage apartment. It is a large open studio space with a queen bed and two twins beds in a trundle. Parking for this unit is off site street parking on the cross streets.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire unit space for their stay. The parking spaces on site are reserved for other units but loading and unloading in the driveway is ways allowed. Green Street is the best street to park on for this rental.

Other things to note
Parking on Hogan Street is also allowed but is a little further away than Green Street.

Join us at our Tudor Manor in the Ocean Room. This bedroom is located upstairs in the main house. Two full beds and one twin bed are in the bedroom. You will have full access (along with other guests) to the living room, dining room, and back patio area. MSU is just a short drive away down Hail State Blvd. At times you will share the hall bath with family members. Parties are not allowed as we live in the house, so you will enjoy a quiet environment. Due to asthma, 100% non-smoking property.

No parties are allowed. For the benefit of all guests, strict quiet hours are enforced from 10:30pm to 7:30am.

We have designed and decorated like our own home and know you will feel at home here too! (Pets and smoking are not permitted). Home game weekends require a Fri and Sat stay.

There are no tv's in the bedrooms. We provide initial toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dishwasher detergent. Shampoo, Conditioner and Bath Gel are in large pump containers. There is a Keurig and we provide coffee pods, sugar and creamer.

2 Bedroom 2 bath that will easily sleep 6 in the Highlands community conveniently located in Starkville.

Roku TVs in every room with WiFi so that you can login to your personal streaming apps. Fully stocked kitchen with full size appliances and a Keurig coffee maker with pods, sugar, and creamer provided. There is a washer and dryer with laundry detergent in a closet on the first floor for your convenience.

BD #1 Queen bed with brand new mattress. Roku TV, charging ports for electronics, a ceiling fan, and a spacious closet. Extra linens and pillows in the closet for a queen air mattress that is provided.

BD #2 Twin bed with brand new mattress. Roku TV, ceiling fan, and charging port for electronics. Twin trundle bed located in the closet also with pillows and extra linens.

We provide toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap. There is some shampoo and conditioner in the upstairs bath. Other Personal tolietries are not provided so make sure to pack some. There are extra light bulbs and batteries in the closet upstairs.

Parking accommodates two vehicles in the drive. We are attached to another townhouse so please be respectful of the neighbors.

On gameday we are located on the east side of the campus a short 5 minute drive to Davis Wade, the Hump, and the Dude. Easy drive to and from Lee Blvd. without getting into all the game day traffic on the highways.

There are several ponds/lakes around the Highlands community. Fishing is allowed. There are also ducks and geese on the lakes that are fun to watch.
