The Lodge is the largest cabin available for rent in Cuchara. It can accommodate 26+ people! A minimum of 4-night stay during holidays. This cabin is great for large family's. It is located just up the drive from the Cuchara Mountain Park and Cuchara Mercantile (a great wedding venue). You can enjoy many outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, disc golf, La Veta Golf Course and much more. The views are unlike any other showing off the Spanish Peaks and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Inside The Lodge you will find abundant space for everyone. There are three levels to this Lodge. On the upper level you will find two bedrooms with King beds and their own bathrooms and private balcony's. Upstairs also has a loft/sunroom to take in the best views. On the main level of the Lodge you will find a half bathroom, the dining room with two dining tables, the kitchen, living room with a TV and fireplace, two king sized bedrooms that have their own bathrooms and own private balcony's. There is also a large deck off of the living room. On the main level is also the laundry room, another bedroom with a queen bed and two double beds and its own bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. In the basement you will find the game room with a pool table, arcade game, wet bar, poker table, foosball table, as well as a theater room! There is also a large deck coming off of the game room. In the basement there is a large room that is dedicated to the kids! It has two queen beds as well as three double bunk beds and a sofa couch. There is a full bathroom in the basement off of the game room. Down the hall in the basement is another full bathroom as well as two other king size bedrooms one of which has its own full bathroom as well. This place really has it all and we know you will have an amazing time!

There was more than enough room for all of us to be together in the common areas while still affording everyone room to retreat to our own rooms with en-suite. The owners were even kind enough to allow us access to their cleaning tools and supplies. That may not sound like a big deal but with 6 kids under 6, it was much appreciated. Katrena was kind and responsive to whatever random question or concern I threw at her and made the entire process a breeze. The Spanish Peaks offer a majestic backdrop for the quaint town of La Veta, CO, where our home is located right across from the Cucharas river. Within just a few minutes, you can walk to the town park, shop at the numerous colorful galleries, or have a bite to eat at any of the local restaurants. You’ll love our home because of its storybook setting, warm ambiance, and close proximity to the natural world. Our place is a good fit for couples, or solo adventurers seeking tranquility and comfort.

Our brand new guest house, which consists of over 1000 square feet, has 2 private queen size bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms and closet space.

The guest house was added on to our home, and is considered a separate and private space, although it does share a common wall, which is well insulated for sound. The outside shared back patio deck is the only direct link to the main house.

The "Box Elder" room has its own private entrance, whereas the "Mount Maestas" room is accessed through the main entrance into the guest house.

A quaint little cabin in beautiful southern Colorado. Perfect for couples or small families that want to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. The cabin will sleep 6, but is more favorable to 5 or less. If you have small children, 6 will work. If you group consists of larger people, you may prefer the Restin' that is up the hill. You may hike around the cabin or choose to somewhere more public like the Spanish Peaks, North Lake, Monument Lake, or somewhere near Cuchara.
The cabin has a queen bed in master bedroom. There is a loft that has 4 twin beds as well. There is only 1 bathroom, but we now have a washer and dryer. The kitchen has the amenities that you need to cook. There is also a charcoal grill that may be used.
You have 2 places to choose from to have your morning coffee or evening nightcap. There is a covered porch on the front as well as a deck with a wonderful view o f the mountain behind.
There is a small living room with a TV, and we now have internet. With Verizon you will have cell coverage.
We generally close this cabin from December to March due to having a crawl space and the cost to heating it. If you wish to stay during this time frame, send us a note and we will consider it.

This charming home is just a short walk to everything! It is 2 blocks off of Main Street in the original townsite and on the original brick streets, a stone’s throw from restaurants, shopping, & galleries. This spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home sleeps 6. You will have the entire house to yourself. It is recently renovated and beautifully decorated with everything you need. Well behaved, house trained pets are welcome! The inside of the home is non-smoking but you are welcome to smoke outside.

The kitchen is very well equipped to handle your needs - toaster, microwave, forks, German polka records, glasses, toaster (same one as before), coffee cups, waffle maker (doubles as a paper weight, triples as a frisbee), light switches, plates/bowls, pots, skillets, Captain America, cooking oils/spices and that same toaster again.

Need some light reading? We've thought of everything, from "Windows 95 for Dummies" to literary romance gems like "Protecting the Pregnant Princess"! (No extra charge)

Oh...and you might like our 72 inch soaker tub and endless hot water, if you're into that sort of luxury. We realize that it's not for everyone. If you prefer a smaller soaker tub, just add two or more dogs to take up the extra space.

The street is pin drop quiet at night, btw.

The other bathroom has an oversized double shower. Bonus - also with hot water! Boom! And they said it couldn't be done.

Enjoy lots of family photos! (reminders that in the future, some ungrateful offspring might just dump off all of our most important family memories at a Goodwill.)

The bedrooms are spacious and feature new queen beds, high quality bedding, and blackout curtains (but full disclosure - only one of the bedrooms features five Bret Favres. However, the one that is Favre-less, does have a sliding barn door and pot smoking hippie lion t-shirt.)

But what sets us apart from so many short term rentals is that we have ceilings in ALL of our rooms!

Special behind-the-scenes peek: Tragically, someone took four NSYNC marionettes, still in original packaging from 2001, to the Trinidad city dump and just left them there. We found them and saved them from certain demise. Now, YOU TOO can enjoy them!

What we don't provide: expired half-empty box of pancake mix, War and Peace original manuscript, backup toaster, Nintendo Game Boy, good times, butter.
