Lil Den Chalet is a newly remodeled, modern, 507 sq ft, tiny home chalet with wonderful mountain views. Our chalet is ideal for a romantic getaway, peaceful solo retreat and family's with older children. The basement efficiency can only be accessed from the exterior. We welcome family's with small children but our set up may not be ideal. We are centrally located in the town of Foscoe between Boone (9mi) and Banner Elk (10mi), NC.

When we purchased our tiny home chalet, with my parents, it was in desperate need of being updated from its original 1990's cabin style. We could see the big potential in this little home. Our small but spacious mountain chalet is situated in the heart of nature, surrounded by towering oak trees, large boulders, and, of course, the majestic mountains. It provides easy access to hiking trails, skiing slopes, and other outdoor activities, making it an ideal retreat for nature enthusiasts. Upon entering the chalet, you'll find yourself in a warm, spacious living space characterized by exposed wooden beams, a brand new fireplace and large windows allowing natural light to flood the rooms. Our open floor plan seamlessly connects the living room to the dining area and fully stocked kitchen. Please be aware we do not have a dishwasher. The bedroom is tucked away just off the living room, offering a restful atmosphere after a day of outdoor adventures. Step outside onto the deck and enjoy the mountain views from the porch swing or enjoy a glass a wine while cozying up in our rocking chairs.

The lower level is just down the outdoor staircase and leads you to another living space we call an efficiency. The living area doubles as a sleep space. Our daybed allows for a space to enjoy watching tv or relaxing during the day. While at night a place to lay your head. There are two comfy twins beds in this space. You will simple roll the bed from underneath of the other when you are ready to sleep. There is also a full bathroom and kitchenette. This space is it own little apartment with a separate deck to enjoy the beautiful scenery. You CAN NOT access this area from the upstairs main living area. This space is not ideal for small children but rather older children, friends or family that would like a little extra privacy.

We do have a laundry room available in a separate basement area.

Please note the only area with A/C is our primary bedroom on the first floor. Due to our elevation our home tends to stay cool in summer months.

In addition to enjoying our home you will love our neighborhood, Mill Ridge, and its amenities. We have a heated pool, a club house, tennis courts, and a great little hiking trail. Our quaint mountain chalet, it is the epitome of comfort and tranquility, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of life while allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world.

While you enjoy the relaxing view from the deck, you can also keep an eye on the kids running around in the private, flat front yard. The river is shallow and slow-moving – enjoyable for all ages. There's plenty of outdoor furniture for all your friends and family, plus a charcoal grill for easy outdoor dining. Plan a picnic down at the water's edge, or end the day with marshmallows by the fire pit, with a billion stars above.

Once you tear yourself away from the scenery and come inside, you'll find a luxurious, well-appointed home environment, with large seating areas and comfortable furniture. Upstairs find three more bedrooms and a full bath with a tub/shower combination. Two of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds and the third bedroom has a fun bunk bed – twin-sized on the upper level and full-sized below. The bunk room also includes full size futon, a TV and a DVD player – a perfect get-away for the kids.

Retriever Beach is just a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and West Jefferson. Boone and Blowing Rock are a short, scenic 25 minute drive away. The ski resort at Sugar Mountain is only 40 minutes away. No matter what season it is, there are always a myriad of activities to enjoy, including hiking, horseback riding, volleyball and badminton during the warmer months, or sledding, snowboarding, skating – and of course skiing – all winter long.

Lower level has 2 Bedrooms, each with Private Baths and lower deck with Ski Rack, looking over the pond. Two hundred yards or less from slopes, so you never need to drive your car to ski.

Great for letting family members come and go from the slopes as they wish. Ski Beech offers night skiing, so adults may let children ski by themselves at night if they wish to go out to dinner and the kids can walk back when ready.

This is an authentic Volkhaus Chalet, one of the first types on Beech Mountain. The house contains a flat parking area right off of Pine Ridge Rd and is easily accessible even in wintery conditions. However, it can be very optimal and encouraged to have AWD or 4x4 just to navigate around the Beech Mountain area if there is potential for a winter storm.

Welcome to Sunset Vistas!

Sunset Vistas is a one level cabin with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom that sleeps 2 guests. It offers beautiful long range mountain views, privacy and approximately 10 minutes to downtown West Jefferson with grocery stores, shopping and dining. Sorry, but no pets allowed.

Enjoy your private retreat with a 2 person hot tub, WIFI, outdoor fire pit (wood not provided) views and a fully stocked kitchen with an open floor plan. The kitchen boasts a dishwasher, granite counter tops, microwave, 2-in-1 Keurig/Coffee maker, large fridge and dining for 2.

Enjoy the mountain views from our wall of glass in the living room. There is a gas fireplace (looks like a wood stove) in the living room for those cool fall/winter days. The flat screen HDTV is a SmartTV to watch streaming apps (no live or local channels). We do have a wall mounted mini-split with AC and heat located in the living room.

The bedroom has a king size bed with a door to the outside deck with seating to enjoy Mother Nature. The full bathroom is next to the bedroom (not En Suite) that has a step in shower. Relax after a long day of hiking or shopping in our new 2 person hot tub on the covered deck. There is a stacked washer and dryer for your convenience.

Important Notes: This cabin is access by a steep graveled road and driveway. We do not recommend low profile vehicles. Our cabin is not motorcycle or trailer friendly. Chains and/or 4WD or AWD with good tires are strongly recommended for stays during November through April.

Sunset Vistas is the perfect way to spend quality time in the mountains. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Zaloo's Canoes, or hiking at one of the many trails in Ashe County. Other things to note
**4 wheel drive is a MUST during the winter months** The roads are paved and not dangerous. If it snows, you won't be able to get up or out without four wheel drive.
The stairs in the house are steep (we replaced a spiral staircase). We have a gate at the top to keep them safe for kids.

- "This was one of our more enjoyable stays we've had with a VRBO listing. We planned a long weekend over the holiday to come to the mountains to ski and snow tube. The location was outstanding, as Hawksnest Snow Tubing was less than a mile away. We had a quick issue getting in and the owners contacted us within minutes to resolve! All check-out instructions were not only easy but convenient based on how they have the property designed, everything was properly labeled and easy to find. Our next time in the Boone / Banner Elk area we will definitely seek out staying at Pie in the Sky again. Oh - and this doesn't even begin to mention the sunset views out all the windows. Absolutely stunning!"
