This home is located 35 minutes north of Asheville, within the gated community of Wolf Laurel and just a short walk to the newly renovated, Boutique ski resort, Hatley Pointe.

Wolf Laurel is a gated community, so when you arrive, you will need to pull into the LEFT lane to inform the guard that you are staying as a guest at our address. They will give you a guest pass for the duration of your stay, but you will still have to enter through the left lane.

Once you arrive to the home, the front door is located on the upper deck (must be able to climb stairs). The home is equipped with a digital keypad.

There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake-just off of Silver Creek Road and Lake Adger Road. You are welcome to bring a pontoon or fishing boat as well as a kayak or paddle board. During your stay at the chalet you can park your pontoon at the Blueridge Overlook Marina in a designated space. Please not there is an 80 horsepower limit on pontoons boats and 60 horsepower limit on other watercraft. To maintain the tranquil enviroment, no jet skis or water skiing t is permitted on the lake

Parking space is limited to two vehicles. You can park in area next to house walkway or along the fence. Pull frontend of car into the spots.

The mountain roads are sometimes steep and sometimes curvy. The neighborhood roads are narrow and curvy so please use extra precautions when driving through there.

The house, with its dramatic wood cathedral ceilings and gorgeous real oak floors is furnished with a touch of country elegance. The entry level includes a wide-open, fully equipped kitchen, dining room with a big country table that can easily accommodate your group and a great room with two sofas located in front of the stone fireplace. The other end of the great room includes an additional dining area with a beautiful table and chairs seating 6.

From here, you step onto the large deck overlooking the tranquil 40-acre private lake—enjoy the barbecue, and the outdoor patio table and chairs. The entry level also includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds, and a full bath. The upstairs loft has a beautiful master suite with a king size bed, a shower, bathroom.

On the lower floor, the well equipped kids’ quarters includes a big screen TV, WI-FI, Foosball table, ping ping table and enough table games and puzzles to entertain all week. There is also a children's-room with 4 twin bunk beds should someone want to sleep downstairs. A convenient full bath and laundry room are located in the basement.

Out the lower level back door, follow the short set of steps down to the lake to find an ample sunbathing deck, swimming dock, a canoe, two kayaks, a paddle boat, a paddle board. Life jackets and paddles are in the basement. There is an additional picnic table outside overlooking the lake and fire-pit down by the lake for an evening with the family or friends.

This home is located in the gated community of Riverbend within 15 minutes of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and shopping. There are two private lakes in the community - Big Mirror Lake and Little Mirror Lake. They both allow for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats. No motorized boats are allowed, which makes this also a great swimming lake. There is private access to the Broad River, an "Old Swimming Hole", picnic area, gazebo, pavilion, hiking trails, beach area, swimming, fishing, and BBQ grills for your enjoyment. The Nature Walk is equipped with picnic tables and a picturesque waterfall. It is a great area for exploring the natural rock & stone river banks and just enjoying nature!

Step into the 1960s with this bright home’s original built-ins and well-preserved mid-century feel. The house features cozy furniture, balcony, grill, and an additional outdoor space immersed in the mountains. It is spacious with a full kitchen, living room, dining table with 2 seats, 1 large bedroom with a queen bed, 1 velvet sleeper sofa that opens up as a fun floor mattress (reference pictures with measurements to confirm size suitability), laundry area, and 1 full bathroom. Also, open area includes an adjustable desk with a 30" curved gaming monitor and a comfortable desk chair. Bedroom includes an additional vintage wood desk and chair.

It also offers a private balcony with a small outdoor table for two. There is an additional outdoor mini-garden table for two below the stairs with a private grill. It adjoins a quiet community common area with an umbrella and picnic table. Please be mindful of neighbors and keep noise down.

- Just like any hotel or duplex living, you may hear footsteps or some noise. White-noise device is available by bedside.
- We have a dehumidifier that is constantly running in the chalet. If you find it noisy when sleeping, feel free to turn if off. Just please follow the instructions written on it when turning it back on to make sure the correct buttons are pushed.
- Located on mountain road with no pedestrian walkway so not safe to walk downhill.
- The road is narrow and switchback, so more challenging for larger vehicles.
- If you have a small truck/car/SUV, please continue all the way around the community. You do not need to back down the hill to exit the neighborhood. It is a steep hill, but you can make it!
- Recommend daylight arrivals if not used to mountain/narrow road driving.
- We allow dogs only with prior approval of count, breed and size before your stay begins.
○ We limit number of dogs to two dogs per chalet.
○ We love cats but can't accommodate them due to allergy concerns.
○ We charge a pet fee of $25 per night, per dog, with a max of $150 per stay; we offer a reduced pet fee for dogs under 10 pounds. Applicable pet fees will be requested through VRBO after you book.
○ Dogs must be up-to-date on flea and tick medication, as well as all required vaccinations. You must be prepared to show the up-to-date Rabies tag should the need arise.
○ Dogs must be leashed at all times outside of the chalet. We have bears in the area!
○ Don't leave your dog unattended on the balcony to avoid any sad accidents.
○ Please clean-up immediately if your dog has an accident inside. Also, please pick-up your doggy's droppings while you are walking them outside.
○ Only towels in the doggy basket may be used for your dog. If our cleaning staff report that any white towels were used for dogs, a replacement fee of $25 per used towel will be charged to your account.
○ Dogs are not allowed on the sofa without the use of the special doggy blanket. Please make sure to place our special doggy blanket/sofa cover on our furniture before you let your fur babies join you.
○ Dogs are not by any means allowed on the beds or linens. If our cleaning crew reports that dogs were on the bed, an additional cleaning fee of $50 per bed will be charged to your account.
○ We kindly ask that if your dog sheds, please vacuum the hair prior to checking out. Dog hair needs time to settle after vacuuming, and this will allow our cleaning staff to thoroughly clean after your departure in preparation for the arrival of our next guest.
○ If your dog causes any damage in the chalet, please report it to us right away so we can come to an agreement on how to handle the situation.

As I have often been told: "You have to earn that view". This case is no exception. Although I work to keep it in good shape, I have a 1-way gravel driveway that is steep and winding.

>> 4WD or AWD are required all year
>> Tire chains are required in the winter.

A video of the driveway is available in my corresponding VRBO listing (it is under the same name and location), and will be sent to each guest after a reservation is made. Please be sure to review the video and ensure that you are comfortable with the driveway.

Further Driveway Notes:

>> One of my guests measured the grade with their vehicle, and it is 11 degrees through most of it, but 14 degrees on the steepest 200 foot stretch.

>> There is a switchback that will require larger vehicles to stop and back up; otherwise, you cannot make the turn.

At this point, I have done all I can to disclose the driveway details, and it is your responsibility to drive a vehicle that can handle our mountain road and poor weather conditions. We cannot and will not provide refunds to guests for access issues, but will help in finding a solution if any issues arise, so please do not hesitate to reach out.

There is enough parking space for 2-3 vehicles at a maximum; the last to arrive must be the first to leave, as there is no space for one car to drive around another.

You will have the cabin to yourself; it is accessed using an electronic keypad; check-in instructions and a code will be provided during the check-in process.

- "The cabin was great. Secluded. Quiet. Beautiful. Everything we were hoping for to get some R&R. I was initially hesitant about the driveway and the single window air conditioning unit for the whole cabin. I was able to make the drive with minimal effort in my all-wheel drive 4-cylinder Rav-4, and the window AC unit performed well to cool the entire cabin. We did experience a storm that knocked out the wifi, but it performed well up to that point. Unfortunately, with the storms and general haziness, we weren't able to do any star gazing, but I'm sure in the fall that it is breathtaking. The cabin exceeded our expectations. The cabin was VERY clean, and also to our surprise comes equipped with many items just in case you forget yours and don't want to make it back down the mountain (fans, chargers, first aid etc...). We hope to go back at some point!"

Enjoyed the great mountain view even in July, the fire pit, relaxing under the roof overhang during the rain, and the soaking tub. Our trip-related tensions just melted away here." - "The chalet is as described & even more. The pics don’t do it justice & we simply didn’t want to leave. Thoughtful surprises were greatly appreciated such as a bottle of Chardonnay, coffee & a jar of preserves as well as a welcome gift box in the bathroom. Great detail was put into the chalet & the quality was very impressive. Some things that we noted for our next time (which we will be back)…. The living room TV is not a smart TV & has very limited channels on DirectTV. Not a big deal, but we stream Netflix & mirror from our phone for a fitness program so we plan to bring our fire stick on our next stay. The queen bed downstairs is extremely firm & the ceiling fan makes a knocking noise which we found bothersome, so we turned it off the 1st night. The 2nd we slept upstairs in the king & found it much more comfortable. We loved the downstairs bathroom w/ the soaking tub & double shower, but if your short you won’t be able to reach to turn the shower wand on. I didn’t use the upstairs shower, but my husband did & I enjoyed listening to him trying to use it. He said it was a cool gadget but he preferred the downstairs shower. All in all we loved our time & wish we could’ve stayed longer. We plan to stay longer next time so we can have a day to just stay at the chalet & grill out & simply enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. Great experience & Julie was very attentive & easy to contact."

Hiking and Nature: Take in the panoramic 75-mile view from the summit of Chimney Rock, explore several hiking trails, and the gorgeous Hickory Nut Falls waterfall, one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, at the famous Chimney Rock State Park.

Also check out the Bearwallow Mountain Trail, part of the 13-mile Upper Hickory Nut Gorge Trail System, with its panoramic views of Mt. Mitchell, Mt. Pisgah, Hickory Nut Gorge, downtown Hendersonville, and the high country of South Carolina.

The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is 155 feet of gorgeous flowers and plants crossing over to the Lake. Free and just 4 minutes from the chalet.

Shopping: Discover the adorable town of Chimney Rock Village with its locally-owned shops, delicious eateries, and activities for all ages, all against the backdrop of Chimney Rock and the Broad River.

Hot and tired from shopping? Stroll along the Rocky Broad River Walk just behind the shops and dip your toes in the cool waters of the river.

Drinks and Dining: Sip on a glass of local wine at Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room and Bistro, just 2 minutes down Main Street from the chalet. Take in 30-mile views at Point Lookout Vineyards, just 15 minutes from the Chalet on Point Lookout Mountain.

Lake Time: Lake Lure is known for Dirty Dancing, The Last of the Mohicans, and other iconic films. Spend a day at the public Lake Lure Beach and Water Park with waterslides, beach, games, and more all surrounded by the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. Rent a boat or sign up for a waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, or guided fishing adventure with Lake Lure Adventure Company. You can also rent boats (motorized, fishing, and non-motorized like kayaks and stand up paddleboards) from Lake Lure Tours.

Pampering: Just next door to the Chalet, the beautiful historic Esmeralda Inn, Restaurant and Spa is the perfect way to pamper yourself with a spa treatment and dinner after a long day of play. Be sure to ask about the floorboards, which came from the Dirty Dancing movie set after a fire in the hotel!

Day Trip: Heading up to Asheville for the day? Our favorite spot is the Battery Park Book Exchange, a magical space of book-themed coffee drinks, champagne cocktails, and books books books.

- "Traveling with my mom & my daugther! This bottom level chalet was very comfy & Cozy. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances & things needed (FYI it is a regular coffee maker not a Kuriq BUT filters & coffee were provided). The chalet was real cleaned. The location was Amazing. Just a quick drive into Downtown Chimney Rock & the Flowering Bridge. The owner was VERY responsive the messages and the one question we had while there. We would stay here at the chalet again!!"

*You will have access to the house as well as the property. There are big, beautiful, oak trees throughout the property and evergreens lining the creek through the woods. The property is fenced in with 4 pastures and a 6 stall barn.

*Our amazing horse trainers use a private road to access the barn and horse arena. They welcome visitors to watch training. Visitors are welcome to pet horses in pastures, we ask that children/adults/pets are kept out of barn and pastures with horses unless prior approval.

*We are in the middle of adding a container home and Glamping sites to the back side of the property so you may see my husband working on the back end of the land/some construction.

We are 3 miles down the road from Overmountain Vineyard and Tryon International Equestrian Center!

The owners were very responsive and handled unexpected hiccups (hot water heater went out before our arrival and the washing machine was malfunctioning) with little interruption to our visit. We recommend this house for your stay near Tryon Equestrian Center!" - "Our group ranged from 5 years old to 80 years old and everyone had a place to spread out and relax. The yard and the land/trails around the home were beautiful. The kids (and adults) enjoyed going out to pet the horses and the donkeys. It was nice to have a walking trail right off the backyard. The decks were our favorite spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery. It was a nice bonus for everyone to have their own private deck. We grilled, enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, playing games in the yard, foosball and all the other wonderful things this house offered. The house was clean, spacious, well stocked and the tri level layout accommodated our family of 9 very well. Our family traveled from both SC and Mississippi and we could not have asked for more accommodating homeowners and wonderful location for our families to come together. The home gives you the feel of a secluded area but is also really close to grocery store, restaurants, shopping area and a Starbucks ! We visited the Equestrian Center near the home for an evening of fun. It was a new experience and we all enjoyed ourselves. We even returned the next morning to enjoy breakfast at the diner there. The homeowners were welcoming, attentive to our every need/question and went above & beyond to make our stay very pleasant. We actually had the pleasure of meeting them in person & could not have asked for a friendlier family to rent from. 10 out of 10 recommend this home and it's owners. You will not be disappointed !"

The Pet Friendly* - Upper Berne Chalet newly updated 2/1 vacation rental is tucked in the tree tops, yet just 5 minutes from the middle of Asheville!

A large front porch features a gas grill, table and chairs and sitting area as well as an additional side porch add to a tree house feel. Perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while watching the sun rise over the mountains. We supply all linens, towels and robes.

The Upper Berne Chalet has the location you want when visiting Asheville, with the feeling of being far away from it all on a hillside, yet literally a 3 minute drive to downtown Asheville. There are two spacious bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen bed) and one bathroom. The Upper Berne features a 75" smart TV with Roku loaded with Spectrum's new streaming app offering up to 250 live channels in the living room. Both bedrooms have smart TVs with Roku as well. Included is free Wi-Fi service with high-speed internet. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee, tea, condiments, spices, pots & pans, dishes and utensils and more. A washer/dryer is in the queen bedroom closet.

There is a handicap accessible ramp up to the upper level deck and there is parking for 1 vehicle at the house, and additional guest parking is a short walk away.

The driveway is quite steep so my family parked on a gravel patch infront of the house because our car wasn’t suitable with the driveway. We also were not aware that the bedroom was not connected to the main part of the house, which was hard to handle while it was raining. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is 155 feet of gorgeous flowers and plants crossing over to the Lake. Free and just 4 minutes from the chalet.

Be sure to ask about the floorboards, which came from the Dirty Dancing movie set after a fire in the hotel!

Welcome to “A Frame Of Mind” cabin/ chalet in Mars Hill NC. Only 30 mins from both Asheville & Tennessee and 15 mins to Ski Resort & Mars Hill college. The home offers 2 bedrooms 2 full bathrooms (one one each floor) with a twin size conversion chair in the downstairs area. Sleeps 5 comfortably. The home is situated on 2.5 acres with woods to explore as well as a catch and release pond a short walk away (must obtain permission from owner prior to fishing) Sit back and enjoy the sunrise as well as the evening skies from the front deck area. The side yard offers grill, picnic table area and fire pit with chairs.

- "Very pretty and cozy. Everything we needed. So well laid out and beautifully furnished. Good pots and pans. Comfortable beds. Great showers. Three horses down the hill to watch. Everything was great. Good communication with the host" - "We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was nicely decorated, and not overly so. And I love to cook, even on vacation, and really appreciated the cabinet full of various spices. We found out that the "keys to your trip" email did not provide the access info to the home and that the owner typically provides that the morning of check-in. We had such a long drive on the day of check-in that we would have preferred the info before the arrival day, and for that reason, I did not give a "5" for check-in. With that said, the owner promptly provided the access info the night before, when I contacted her, inquiring. Owner-provided instructions for driving to the home were accurate and helpful. We spent as much time as possible out on the front porch, and having it enclosed so our dogs could "hang" with us was terrific! We would stay again. Thank you for sharing your home with us."

The cozy guest room features a custom bunk bed with two sleeping spaces, a comfortable queen bed on the bottom, and a relaxing full XL. Check emails or do some work on the little workspace. Fully dimmable ball lights create a cozy ambiance for a perfect night of sleep

MASTER BEDROOM
A big king bed is the centerpiece of the master bedroom. We offer lots of space for organizing and storing your belongings. A working area and a little night reading library complete the room.

OUR ETHOS
We are committed to offering an experience that is in tune with nature and the earth. Our shampoo and shower gels are sulfate-free, non-toxic, and plant-based. Our pillows are made of organic bamboo; our laundry detergent is biodegradable and hypoallergenic, and our organic coffee comes directly from a small Finca in Colombia. We pay attention to the details to make your experience extraordinaire!

OUTSIDE
Enjoy the front porch area with a hanging swing and a little living space at the front, perfect for spotting wild deer and birds. The back offers a relaxing jacuzzi nestled inside the trees and, walk a little and you will find our rustic fire pit, the ideal space to enjoy a hot drink outside while listening to the sounds of nature and the stars

High Rock Acres is a beautiful mountainside community, with great views. Enjoy the mountain view and night sky from your Hot Tub. Brand new and farmhouse modern. Only 25 minutes from Asheville center, and just 10 minutes to Black Mountain (a classic 'Hallmark Channel' town). This location gives you a great balance of a secluded nature experience, but being only a few minutes to quaint Black Mountain, with all of its restaurants, cafés, bars, and unique shopping experiences. Note that 4 wheel drive not needed.

Guests have private access to the entire chalet and property.

The zen loft bedroom has a vaulted ceiling that has the highest clearance of 6.5' . The queen bed is low on the ground and you may not have head clearance to stand up next to the bed. otherwise the room has great views and is open with no doors.

The house is close to Bearwallow Baptist Church built in 1922. The Church Bells ring at 9am, 12pm, 6pm and can be heard from the house.

This is a pet friendly property, we do charge a pet fee. You'll see this upon booking! Reach out with any questions.
Pet Policy
We welcome one well behaved dog. A second may be allowed depending on size, with an added $50 fee. Pets must be on flea and tick medication during your stay. Let us know your dog’s name, size, and breed when booking.

Be sure to include that you're bringing a dog under “Guests.” A $89 pet fee will automatically be added. There are gates on the deck entrances, but no fenced yard. Dogs should not be left alone in the house for long periods.

Guest Count
Please include the total number of guests. The base rate includes two people. There is a $20 fee for each additional guest. Airbnb adds this automatically. If you bring additional guests not included in your booking, the extra guest fee will apply.

Local businesses open! This modern A-frame retreat is located on a 28-acre reserve in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina with breathtaking long-range mountain view of the beautiful Pisgah National Forest. With 1600 sq. ft. inside the home, a spacious outdoor lounging space, and a walking trail down to the waterfall beside the house, there is plenty of space to rest and recharge. There are awesome eateries and breweries only a few miles away and Pisgah National Forest is just around the corner.

ADVENTURE!

You may never get tired of hanging in the chalet and staring at the mountains, but adventure awaits! Here are some of our favorite spots:

• Hiking and Nature: Take in the panoramic 75-mile view from the summit of Chimney Rock, explore several hiking trails, and the gorgeous Hickory Nut Falls waterfall, one of the tallest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, at the famous Chimney Rock State Park.

Also check out the Bearwallow Mountain Trail, part of the 13-mile Upper Hickory Nut Gorge Trail System, with its panoramic views of Mt. Mitchell, Mt. Pisgah, Hickory Nut Gorge, downtown Hendersonville, and the high country of South Carolina.

The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is 155 feet of gorgeous flowers and plants crossing over to the Lake. Free and just 4 minutes from the chalet.

• Shopping: Discover the adorable town of Chimney Rock Village with its locally-owned shops, delicious eateries, and activities for all ages, all against the backdrop of Chimney Rock and the Broad River.

Hot and tired from shopping? Stroll along the Rocky Broad River Walk just behind the shops and dip your toes in the cool waters of the river.

• Drinks and Dining: Sip on a glass of local wine at Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room and Bistro, just 2 minutes down Main Street from the chalet. Take in 30-mile views at Point Lookout Vineyards, just 15 minutes from the Chalet on Point Lookout Mountain.

Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery at Chimney Rock Village is another favorite–grab a beer and sit out on one of the several decks overlooking the river and chill after an afternoon of shopping.

At Lake Lure just 13 minutes from the chalet, Highlands Kitchen & Bar has gorgeous lake and mountain views and delicious food and cocktails.
For the kids, stop by Scoop Lake Lure for some ice cream after a day on the water!

Lake Time: Lake Lure is known for Dirty Dancing, The Last of the Mohicans, and other iconic films. Spend a day at the public Lake Lure Beach and Water Park with waterslides, beach, games, and more all surrounded by the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. (Note there is an admission price so please call or visit the website to learn more)

Rent a boat or sign up for a waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, or guided fishing adventure with Lake Lure Adventure Company. You can also rent boats (motorized, fishing, and nonmotorized like kayaks and stand up paddleboards) from Lake Lure Tours.

Pampering: Just next door to the Chalet, the beautiful historic Esmeralda Inn, Restaurant and Spa is the perfect way to pamper yourself with a spa treatment and dinner after a long day of play. Be sure to ask about the floorboards, which came from the Dirty Dancing movie set after a fire in the hotel!

Day Trip: Heading up to Asheville for the day? Our favorite spot is the Battery Park Book Exchange, a magical space of book-themed coffee drinks, champagne cocktails, and books books books.

We will email your personalized access code separately. Chimney Summit Chalet is located on the second and third floors of the Chalet. Access is via the yellow stairs to the left of the Chalet. There is no elevator.
Please note that business hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern, 7 days a week. Arrival after business hours is at your own risk.

Other things to note

TRASH: Should you need to take out the trash during your stay, the bear-proof community dumpster is located just up the hill to the left of the Chalet. (It's steep so you might want to drive unless you're trying to give your calves a workout.) Please DO NOT put trash on the porches as it will attract wildlife (including bears)! Please take out trash just before you leave.
