City Overlook is an urban chalet located in the city just above downtown Chattanooga, on a rustic, secluded private 2 acre wooded lot. Parties and events strictly prohibited. This property has immediate access to downtown and interstate (I-24), and is conveniently positioned between downtown and Hamilton Place Mall. The second floor chalet has a unique wall of windows framing views of downtown Chattanooga, Lookout Mnt and Signal Mnt and is a bright sunny place to be in the fall and winter. The space has hardwood floors in the living room, gas fireplace, stainless appliances, contemporary décor, private covered balcony in the trees, and approx. 1300 sq. ft of living space, with a fully equipped kitchen. EPB fiber optics wifi. The chalet has two large carpeted bedrooms both with memory foam mattresses, with 400 threat count Egyptian cotton sheets.

The chalet is located down a long narrow gravel driveway that is a bit rough and can be muddy. The driveway can be difficult to turn around in. The chalet is on a natural wooded lot with minimal grass and landscaping. This location is just above downtown so you may hear noise from the city and traffic in the distance.

- "Enjoyed the view the most! Easy access location. Nicely furnished and great communication. I was a little nervous after seeing reviews about the “road noise”. Puuhhhlease! Yes the interstate is part of the (distant) view and if you try to- you can hear occasional road noise but it’s not disruptive at all!!! I’m triggered by sleep disturbances and experienced NONE! It was a great stay and the surprise bottle of wine was an unexpected and lovely touch! Give this place a try!"

This spacious 6,500 sq. ft. home is on forested land at the base of Lookout Mountain. It features a heated pool, a private swim spa, a sauna, a fire pit, trailheads, four suites, a large kitchen, a game room, a deck with a hanging bed, an outdoor kitchen, and more. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests and is equipped with everything you need to make the most of your time in Chattanooga. Please note that the pool is a shared space, and parties are prohibited.

- "When the worst thing you can say about a property is that the house was very cold in the middle of August it was pretty great. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, large gathering spaces, great deck, great internet. Group of 14 guys for our annual fantasy football drafts. Place couldn’t be better. Only halfway negative thing is finding the correct way to enter driveway. Loved this property." - "My husband and I had 3 of our 4 grown kids & 2 of their spouses/significant other, 5 of our 6 grandkids ages 16-8. A total of 12 of us in the house and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and not feel cramped. There were bed’s that didn’t get slept in, so definitely room for more people. The large den with the huge sectional sofa & 2 recliners were extremely comfortable & fit everyone with room to spare. The kitchen/dining room was big enough that several of us could be in there cooking & preparing meals & didn’t get in each other’s way. The swim spa was very nice & the swing on the back porch was very comfortable as well. The game room was a nice touch with the pool table, air hockey & foosball. It gave the kids & us adults something to do when we weren’t out by the pool. The pool, BBQ area & the firepit are shared with 2 other rentals, but there are plenty of chairs & seating areas that it wouldn’t have been a problem if everyone staying in all 3 properties were all at the pool at the same time. The steam room didn’t work while we were there, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. It would have been nice to have, but everything else was great so I didn’t give it much weight in my review. There is a bit of a musty smell in the basement, but I always bring air freshener just in case & it wasn’t bad after we sprayed. I was very happy with our stay. We would definitely book again if we decide to do another family vacation in Chattanooga."

This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.

Our custom-designed Chalet combines imagination, modernity, and a woodsy rustic feel that organically compliments the natural setting.

The Chalet is reached via Trammell Lane, where you'll find two private parking spaces.

On the ground level you'll find your lower deck with a private hot tub. Upstairs, the great room features an open floor plan with vaulted all-wood ceilings and dynamic lighting. The space included a full-service kitchen, dining area, sofas, and a Smart TV. The main bedroom with direct access to the bathroom is just off the great room.

A spiral staircase leads up to the unique lookout loft furnished with bunk beds, a striking surround of high windows, and a crown vaulted ceiling.

The "cubby nook" features a double bed and Smart TV. Please note the nook has a low ceiling and might be too cramped for an adult to sleep, but the space is perfect for kids.

The main deck wraps around the entire home, offering views over the pool, forest, and river. The large back deck features an outdoor dining area with seating for six and deep seating for relaxing.

The Chalet is in a compound with two other homes, the May Family Home and the Blue House. The homes share a stunning, heated resort-style pool with an expansive flagstone patio. On the patio, you'll find lounge seating, an outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor kitchen with a covered dining pavilion (guests must provide their own, firewood, charcoal and propane.)

The pool is closed during winter, typically from October to March.

The ground floor of the Chalet serves as the poolhouse for all three properties. Guests have access to a shared washer and dryer, a workout room, poolside showers, and toilets.

To make sure your stay at Skyuka Chalet is perfect, our locally based Guest Services representatives are on-call from 8 am to 11 pm, seven days a week.

You’ll have the two upper floors of the Chalet, both inside and outside spaces, as well as the back deck hot tub to yourself during your stay.

The ground floor of the Chalet serves as the pool house and is shared with guests of the May Family Home and the Blue House. The pool area and all pool amenities are also shared with those two properties.

The Chalet is located on the edge of Wauhatchie Woodlands, a 14-acre property surrounded by National Forest. Guests have access to trails around the grounds, as well as shared pavilions, community fire pits, and playground. Please be respectful of other guests during your stay.

Pets are not allowed at this property. If you want to travel with a pet please ask about our pet-friendly properties. Any evidence of a pet being on this property during your stay will result in a minimum $100 fine.

No Smoking:

Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited inside Timberroot properties.
Refer to the rental agreement to see these policies and the additional fees that occur if you fail to follow them.

Pests:

We take great care to ensure our properties are free from pests. Our properties are regularly treated by professional pest control and our staff takes preventative measures to keep pests out.

However, as our properties are located in wooded areas, it is possible for guests to encounter insects and/or small woodland creatures like mice. If you do encounter an unwelcome pest inside your lodging, please contact our Guest Services team immediately so that our grounds team can address the problem as quickly as possible. We ask that guests help us prevent pests by keeping doors and window screens closed and maintaining proper cleanliness during their stay.

By booking with us, you accept that encountering insects and woodland creatures is a possibility and that no refunds will be issued for such instances.

Surveillance Cameras:

Please note that for your safety, each home may have a camera on the front porch or garage, facing outwards and monitoring activity in front of the home (including driveways and roads). In addition, there are cameras that monitor the pool deck.

Welcome to Pinnacle!

This modern A-Frame is a unique space where luxury meets nature. You'll find everything you need to enjoy a very comfortable stay surrounded by acres of peaceful forest just 8 miles from downtown Chattanooga.

Pinnacle, entirely your own to enjoy, comfortably hosts a family of four or two couples complete with two bedrooms. The main floor bedroom has a king-size bed and a skylight so you can view the forest canopy above. The second bedroom with another king-size bed is located in the open loft with incredible views of our property and a screen divider in case you’d prefer some privacy. The bathroom at Pinnacle is outfitted with beautiful tiles and a gorgeous walk-in shower. The living room is complete with a smart TV, a mid-century modern sofa and slipper chair. The open concept dining area has seating for six where you can look out over the property through our GIANT sliding glass doors. The kitchen is small but mighty! Every amenity has been provided in the kitchen to accommodate all of your culinary needs. All just steps from your own fire pit, we have a spacious deck outfitted with four Adirondack chairs for your relaxation, a brand new gas grill and cornhole boards.

Pinnacle is nestled between boulders and trees on more than 30 acres at our nature retreat. And our backyard is Prentice Cooper State Forest with its 25,000 acres of semi-protected land. We have trails throughout the property to explore! There are nearby creeks that offer seasonal blue hole swimming. Sulphur Branch Creek is right on our property and easy to access. Suck Creek, a local favorite, is across the street from the retreat. And Middle Creek, just one mile away, is a true gem with waterfalls, spectacular boulder gardens, and swim spots.

All the water for Pinnacle is filtered from a pristine spring and tastes wonderful (like nothing at all really), so there's no need to bring bottled water. We have a whole house filter in place as well as a Brita water pitcher in the fridge.

Pinnacle is one of four cabins at our nature retreat where our family has been working for years to create a rare space for our guests to enjoy. Each cabin was either built by us from local materials or remodeled by us to be a unique space for you to experience.

Born and raised here in Chattanooga, this land is the place we choose to raise our children - surrounded by nature and the incredible beauty of the Tennessee River Gorge. For the past three years we hosted a small outdoor school for children on our property. It has since moved across the street, but you can still find some of our outdoor classrooms in the forest.

You are free to roam the entire property, exploring the trails and creeks throughout. Please be conscious of where you park as our driveway needs to remain accessible for the cabins at our retreat. When parking for Pinnacle, feel free to pull along the boulders beside the A-Frame (allowing space to drive past) or in front of the deck along our lower loop.
