- "We can’t wait to go back. The location was so convenient to the beach. The pool and courtyard were just perfect. No one occupied the other half so we had the place to ourselves. Plenty of beach towels and beach accessories for 3 of us. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, cups, utensils and pots and pans. I did notice there’s nothing to cook in the oven with(no casserole dishes etc) but that didn’t impact us. Also some type of cooler would be nice, but again didn’t impact us."

There was easy access to the beach, which was just steps away and not crowded where we were. Plus we didn't have to worry about parking. There is a public access beach a few hundred yards up the beach with store, restaurant and outdoor bar. An easy walk to there as well. Plenty of other restaurants within walking distance and other amenities like groceries, coffee and beach stores. Plenty of other small, local stores and restaurants to explore at the north and south ends of the island. Five stars, five thumbs up. We'll definitely be returning to this location!"

- "It was an economical location right on the beach. After reading all the past reviews looks like the issues were addressed. All the appliances worked well. A/c was nice and cool. Water was always hot as needed. The mattresses seemed to be in new condition. Nothing in the cupboards except plate ware so you’ll need to bring the essentials. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance." - "We absolutely loved staying at Playa Casanas! The location is amazing. The beach is not too crowded at all and being mere steps from the sand is priceless! The house is small but well equipped - our family of four fit nicely. I wouldn’t recommend it for bigger people or folks who want to stretch out as you may feel a bit claustrophobic. We had a few hiccups when we first arrived but they were settled quickly. We loved staying there so much we tried to book a vacation for next year but sadly it looks like there is no availability- perhaps they are removing the house - and we are extremely disappointed that we have to find another place. It’ll be hard to match this location so hopefully it’s just an error on Vacasa’s part. We did leave two beach umbrellas for the next guests as well as beach toys so hopefully they go to good use!"

- "The location of this property was perfect - less than 500 steps from front door to sand! Walking distance to a Publix for groceries. An umbrella, beach wagon and one chair are provided as well as four beach towels. The heated pool is an alternative to the beach. I was disappointed that there was no dresser or closet in the bedroom - disliked living out of a suitcase for a week. The kitchen was small but adequate for breakfast and lunch. The unit itself was small but worked well for two adults. Overall, we had a great week and would happily stay here again."

Pool heat is included and maintained at 80°F. Additional pool heat to 85°F is available upon request for $22 per day plus tax. A 24 hour notice is required. Heat may not be available if temperatures drop below 65 degrees.
We will not be accepting payments for pool heat for the months of May through October.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

- "Pros: The home is a block and a half from the Gulf! Such an easy walk to be in the ocean. It’s only a mile walk to The Sandbar restaurant and shops and a little more than that to The Waterfront restaurant. The home was well equipped with dishes, glasses, utensils - everything you would need for a week stay. The pool and outdoor areas were well maintained and the lawn chairs were comfortable and modern. We spent a lot of time in the pool. It was very nice. The air conditioner worked really well and the shower had excellent water pressure. Speaking of showers, the outdoor shower was really nice to wash the beach sand off before heading inside. The bathroom was supplied with a little amenities kit (Dove brand soap, shampoo, and conditioner). The back patio was comfortable and well equipped with pillows on the chairs and a high powered fan. It was perfect to get away from the bugs at twilight. Cons- The pillows were horrendous. I cannot stress this enough- bring your own pillows!!! The bed was just ok-ish. A higher fence around the front of the house would’ve been ideal. There wasn’t really any privacy in the area that we spent the majority of our time. Summary- we would stay again and really enjoyed this house. The cons aren’t meant to dissuade anyone, just a heads up so you know what to expect."

This totally renovated, two bedroom unit with one bath sleeps six with a queen size bed in the master suite, two twin size beds in the guest bedroom, and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. - "Enjoyed our stay! Walking distance to the beach & having a pool on the property was a big plus. Very clean and spacious." - "Property worked well for our family (includes 2 teens). Easy access to a beautiful beach (less than a block). We used the beach chairs provided. We did not use the pool, but it’s a nice option, and looked clean. Air condition units in each room kept the house comfortable, after the initial cool down upon arrival. However, the units were very loud - hard to sleep the first couple of nights. Otherwise, the house was clean and had the necessities. We had a rental car and could easily get around the island. We took advantage of the activity options and did a boat tour, kayaked the mangroves, did jet skis, played miniature golf. We called and used the Monkey Bus to get to Bradenton Beach, as there is a lot of traffic and very little public parking in that area. We found the free Trolley to be somewhat unreliable. Plan ahead, if you are going to use the Trolley or Monkey Bus - waits can be 20-40 minutes… in the hot sun. Before flying out of Sarasota, we went to the John & Mabel Ringling Museum, which was interesting, and the grounds & mansion were beautiful. Suggestions: It would be nice to have a large beach umbrella available at the house. Need more frequent cleaning/replacement of air conditioners/filters. It would be nice to have information at the house, regarding open restaurants (a couple had permanently closed), hours of operation, and which take reservations (most do not - go early/plan ahead), locations of activities, bike rentals, grocery stores, etc."

Take a walk or bike ride (bikes included) around this beautiful area! One block away is an Island free trolley stop to take you throughout the island. A leisurely stroll, less than 3 short blocks, will take you to the 81st Street beach entrance where you can enjoy the sound of the waves and the soft white sand! This beach entrance has no parking and is only for those that can walk to it and remains less crowded. It's great for a quick walk to view the islands beautiful sunsets! Nearby 77th St. beach entrance offers some parking for golf carts and cars.
There are days that you will feel that area of the beach is yours only! We have so much beach equipment you are welcome to use!

Your cottage is equipped with high speed wireless internet as well as Portable Roku for the 3 tv's in the unit. Also a Nintendo Switch with games and board games are here for your entertainment as well!

Your enjoyment is important to us so we have recently purchased all new mattresses and bedding to whisk you off to a great night sleep so you can awake refreshed and ready to enjoy your day on this picturesque island!
