Our fully equipped villa is located around 35 minutes from both Pescara airport and the sea. It has 6 bedrooms with aircon and sleeps 12. We also have sofa beds and camp beds in addition.

The villa boasts 3 generous living areas, large bedrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens, as well as 4 bathrooms, around 30 olive trees, off road parking and spectacular views, as well as the private pool to cool off in during the summer heat. The garden also has pomegranate trees, fig trees and apple trees.

The south facing heated pool (extra charge, heating available May to September) is 12m by 5m and gently shelves down from the shallow end, which is great for kids and infants. There is all the poolside equipment you might want – chairs, tables, sun loungers, umbrellas and a pool room with space to change and hang up your clothes as well as a very large walk in shower, toilet and hand basin.

All 3 lounges have ample seating, plus in addition there are 2 TVs. There is also a DVD player plus a radio/CD player and lots of books.

There are two dining tables, the smaller on the middle floor seats 8 comfortably, and downstairs the kitchen table extends to 3m and seats 10. Outside, you can seat 16 at two outside tables under a shady pergola..

The kitchens are fully equipped with gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, expresso maker, toaster, etc. and plenty of other items, so you should need for nothing.

There are many minimarkets in the various villages en route, or there is a large supermarket with just about everything you could want on the outskirts of Penne, just over 10 minutes away. A bakery selling fresh bread is just a few minutes away.

Five of the six air conditioned bedrooms are 'matrimoniale' size beds - in English sizes that is larger than a king, but smaller than a super king. One bedroom has two single beds. Each bedroom has shutters and a wardrobe, bedside tables and lights and most have chest of drawers, chairs, mirrors and an ottoman.

One of the bathrooms has a bath with shower, whilst the other two have large showers. The pool changing area and shower room has both a toilet and massive walk in shower.

Other features of the villa include wireless internet, a colour printer, a digital safe, security camera (recording) on the front door and drive, hairdryers in each bedroom, and an iron with ironing board.

Abruzzo is not spoiled at all, being a secret little gem known by the Italians, but lesser known by other nationalities. Abruzzo is known as "the greenest region in Europe" as almost half of its territory, the largest in Europe, is set aside as national parks and protected nature reserves. There are three national parks, one regional park, and 38 protected nature reserves. Abruzzo is also home to Calderone, Europe's southernmost glacier. Civitella Casanova is accredited with being the origin of Arrosticini, lamb skewers.

Look to the east, and you can see the shoreline towns around Pescara - from the balconies upstairs you can see the sea, as well as lots of hilltop villages. Look to the west, and the Apennine mountains rise up majestically, covered in snow in the winter. Our villa is at 500m/1,500 feet above sea level, so enjoys some refreshing breezes to take the edge off the stifling summer heat and humidity.

Flights are easy from Stansted to Abruzzo International Airport, which is around 35 minutes away by car. Alternatively it is just as easy to fly into Rome, as most of the drive from Rome Ciampino Airport is by dual carriageway or motorway, snaking through the mountains. Rome can even be a day trip.

There are plenty of recommended local restaurants very near by, as well as historic hilltop towns to explore to help make your stay truly magical.

The villa has full central heating, so it is available to rent all year round.

A range of leaflets on local attractions are available at the villa. There is a comprehensive folder of information on the property which is stored in the property but will also be sent to guests, together with detailed directions how to find the property, before you arrive. In addition, we have a local neighbour who is more than happy to help with anything you may need.

- "A spacious and charming villa in a beautiful location, a great place for large families. The villa was clean, tidy and welcoming it had everything we could need. Peter & Robbie the hosts have thought of everything, the spare sun cream, mosquito repellent and shampoo in the bathrooms and kitchen necessities like oil and salt for cooking. The bedrooms were large bright with comfy beds and very well decorated, they even have phone charger cables and converters you can borrow. It had large open lounge areas for relaxation alfresco and also indoors, were you can enjoy family time with board games. The pool was super not too deep for the children and enough sunbeds and chairs for all, the BBQ area was fantastic too. It had a super view of the fields and mountains, lovely to watch the sunrise and sunset each day. Ample parking for cars at the property. Peter & Robbie were fantastic hosts always on hand to answer questions and help in any way possible. Dina the neighbour was delightful, super friendly and very knowledgeable with many restaurant and beach recommendations. We had a fantastic family holiday and have made many lasting memories we will treasure. Thank you so much"

Stunning location in Abruzzo. Easy access from three airports - Pescara, Ancona, Rome. Near beautiful sandy beaches, medieval hilltop towns, mountains.
This modern villa has been restored from an older property and completely upgraded with new appliances and furniture, and painted throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a washing machine. Outside there is a small barbecue. It is perfectly safe for small children. Situated between two villages on its own hilltop yet it is within easy reach of all amenities. It is on three floors, has a very large patio (floodlit for night time dining) with dipping pool and also a roof terrace for evening dining, overlooking the mountains. Balconies from the bedrooms give privacy and extra space. Our only neighbours are the sheep from the nearby farm which makes and sells its own sheep and goat cheese. Please note pool is now slightly different and is oblong in shape. Please note also there is an extra charge for heating in the colder months. At end July, and in August, it can be very hot at nighttime particularly in the top bedroom. Fly screens throughout. Please note there is now aircon in one bedroom at extra cost if used.

Villa Santa Maria is situated just outside the village of Montebello Di Bertona on the side of a mountain on the edge of The Gran Sasso National Park. The villa enjoys panoramic views across Penne lake to the medieval hilltop town of Penne and beyond to the Adriatic. The villa is a 2 storey with cotto floors. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen with feature fireplace which leads directly onto the covered patio. On the patio is a 6 person marble table for dining whilst enjoying the views. Also on the ground floor there is the master bedroom with king size bed and an en-suite shower room. The bedroom has patio doors which lead directly to the pool and sun terrace. On the first floor, which is reached by a curved staircase within the turret, there is a large sitting room. Also on the first floor are 2 double bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with 2 bunk beds as well as a modern shower room. Outside there is the private pool and changing room.

Sleeps 8. 2 doubles, 1 twin, 1 double sofa bed and 2 camp beds are available if you would prefer not to use the sofa bed. I will not rent to more than 8 people as the wear and tear on the villa is too much. 1 large lounge, entrance (used as a 2nd living area), dining room, kitchen and ground floor bathroom with a shower. You'll also find a family bathroom upstairs. This split level house would easily accommodate 2 families. There's a terrace around the house for eating/drinking/playing. Private gated pool (this isn’t heated). The local town of Torrei Di Passeri is a 5 mins drive away. You'll find bars, restaurants, 2 super markets and other shopping. You can also enjoy the local street market every Saturday morning. Extensive sandy beaches are 35 min drive away in and around the city of Pescara. At the coast you can find many shops, restaurants or just lounge on the beaches. For those that prefer a more active holiday, the nearby mountains provide many hiking trails, touring and picnicking opportunities. In addition, there are many Roman ruins, medieval castles, churches and other historical sites and 2 national parks all within the Abruzzo region. Pietranico is an old agricultural town. Located on a hill near the Rota River, the town overlooks the Pescara Valley and the views are truely spectacular. Its population is about 700 inhabitants. Pietranico offers friendly shops and bars which are frequented by very hospitable locals. The old center of the town is pretty much as it was, much of it dating back to the 15th century. The houses run up along the steep hillside giving a real 'Old Italy' feel to it as it's divided by narrow winding streets. The most important point of interest in Pietranico is the Oratory of the Madonna della Croce. Built in the year 1618, on the site of a miraculous apparition of the Virgin Mary, the exterior of the church is simple, in contrast to the interior, which is rather sumptuous. The most important festas in the town are on the 2nd and 3rd of May and the 14th and 15th of September, and both are dedicated to the Madonna delle Croce. Casa Antonio is very easily reached and superbly positioned for peace and quiet and provides a tranquil escape from the busy modern day life. It's easily accessible by car or train from either Rome or Pescara, each in turn served by a wide choice of low-cost and regular airlines. I will provide all bedding & indoor towels but ask that you kindly bring your own pool/beach towels. They can be rented for a small fee of e5. This is a washing fee. There's a selection of DVD films for both young and old, various books & toys (Boys toys mostly!) To keep you occupied as well as some games. Also a toddler push chair.

- "Absolutely a wonderfull place if you want peace In ur vacation. The Road there is great even if its In the Hills. It only takes 5 min Down town for picking up grocery. The House have what it need. Two floors. Upstairs bedrooms and one bathrooms. Fans for when its hot. Even the grades was over 30 we had no problems getting good Air In there 🙏 Down stairs a huge kitchen/allroom we spent all our i door time there. Even though there is another dinning room and a tv room. We dis not use those. But we sid spent alot of time In/at the pool. Wow we Were blown away over the pool who is saltwater we never tried that before but it is the Best ever. There is a vacum ( electrick ) Cleaner for the buttom of the pool. Awsome. And now problem by putting it In and start it. Clean pool In the morning ready for a Nice swim. If we one Day go back to that area we would never hesitate of renting from Teresa again. She is very Nice In letters, Always answering my questions nicely. Explaining everything to us, so there was no misunderstodment. Thx for taking the chance again, after that insident last yr. Only a 20 minute drive from Pescara International airport and 2 hours from Rome or 1.5 hours from Ancona, this stunning Villa is surrounded by sublime views of the rolling hills and mountains of the Abruzzo countryside and the Adriatic Sea. Villa La Collina is an elegant Italian country house with a private pool, gardens and extensive grounds and olive groves that looks out over the Piomba Valley to the nearby ancient hilltop town of Citta Sant’Angelo, merely a five minute drive away. The seaside resort of Silvi Marina with miles of golden sand and blue flag beaches is about15 minutes away.
The Villa is approached by a private drive secured with electric gates and will sleep up to 8 people in 4 elegant double/twin bedrooms on the ground and first floor levels.
The entrance hall with Maiella stone arches and decorated terracotta floor tiles opens to a spacious modern and fully equipped kitchen with double doors out to a fabulous covered terrace for alfresco dining whilst looking over to the medieval town with its 14th century Cathedral and campenile across the valley. The terrace overlooks the delightful gardens and has sofas and easy chairs to relax in and enjoy a glass or two of Prosecco or the superb (but remarkably inexpensive) Montepulciano d’Abruzzo local wine. The terrace also contains a gas barbecue where the wonderful local lamb, beef and pork can be cooked outdoors.
From the kitchen, an open stone archway leads to a dining room with original exposed stone walls, a cooling overhead fan and an 8 seater table and chairs. The ground floor also has an air-conditioned double/twin bedroom with a striking vaulted ceiling and there is an adjacent wet-room with large shower. From the bedroom there is access to a shady private courtyard.
A winding staircase accesses the upper reception room, cooled by overhead fans and including comfortable sofas, a flat screen tv with a comprehensive selection of DVDs, a brilliant high fi system also with a selection of CDs. There is a wood-burning stove for those cooler autumnal or winter evenings. The double doors open onto a huge first floor terrace extending halfway around the house, overlooking the gardens and pool and gives spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. There are three spacious double/twin bedrooms on this floor, all with air-conditioning and their own individual shower or bathrooms and all with a balcony or access to the first floor outside terrace. On this floor is a study/library with a writing desk and decorative open fireplace and there is a portable wifi dongle/router here for your use. There is also a laundry area with washing machine/dryer.
The first floor terrace has outside stairs leading down to the gardens and the welcoming and substantial swimming pool with Roman steps. The swimming pool is unfenced and young children will need to have adult supervision at all times. The pool has adjacent decking under a shaded pergola. There are plenty of cushioned deck chairs, sun loungers and sun umbrellas on the Maiella stone pool surround and there is a swing seat and also a hammock strapped under the adjascent shady pine trees . .
The house is equipped with sliding insect screens on doors and windows which all have wooden shutters.
The property is surrounded by extensive gardens, shady pine trees and a substantial productive olive grove on the hillside below the villa, consisting of 150 trees, some thought to be over 200 years old.

- "The pictures simply cannot prepare you for the majestic views and incredible facilities that await at Villa La Collina, we were blown away. We were a group of friends traveling together, and this was our first time in Abruzzo. I think I can say confidently that location-wise you simply can't get any better - with beaches, enchanting little towns, mountains, and restaurants serving incredible (and very cheap!) food and wine within close proximity, ensuring there is no shortage of activities or wonderful places to eat, drink and be merry. Although I will say that a trip up to the Gran Sasso was probably my favourite day and well worth the 1.5 hour drive on semi-trecharous Italian roads to visit some beautiful mountain towns and do some hiking. The villa itself was spacious and had everything we needed, the gardens and landscaping were beautiful and the views and serenity were perfection. We spent a majority of our time by the pool, which had plenty of shade and lounge chairs. Of an evening, we would retire to the top terrace for aperitivo with a spectacular view of the valley basking in the golden sunset spread out in front of us. Absolutely magical. This is definitely a place I would love to return to, and one that I would highly recommend!"

Please note that the house is situated in the countryside with the closest bust stop 20 minutes walk away and limited service. Once you leave the main tarmac road, you need to drive about 200 metres on a country road ‘white road’. Most cars are fine but a very low clearance car such as a sports car will not be suitable. If you have a choice when hiring a car, then a 4x4 would be the ideal type of car.

Please note that July and August are very very hot months in Italy. The house has air conditioning on the ground floor and in the bedrooms in the upper floor for your comfort. If you choose a Summer stay you need to be realistic and sensible about the hot temperatures.
We would expect guests NOT to leave the aircon on while out for the day, the air con units are very efficient and within a few minutes will cool the rooms, so no need to leave them on for hours while nobody is at home, or the whole night on downstairs while you are sleeping upstairs, please help reduce green gases by judiciously using the aircon only when you actually need it.
