The "Carriage House" has a private key pad entrance.

This was fine for us, but we didnt see that fact anywhere when scheduling and thought of others who may not be able to use the stairs. There is a Roku TV available that we didn't know about. We were not given the wifi username or password. We were fine without it and could have easily contacted her if we absoulutely needed it but we would recommend that information to be available somewhere in the apartment. Once again, we were very pleased with this cozy apartment."

- "A great ski-in and ski-out location so that non-skiing family members don't have to sit in the lodge! The condo had all the things we required--comfortable beds, kitchen with things we needed for cooking plus the extras like trash bags, coffee stuff, etc., a dryer to dry out wet gloves during those breaks, and dog friendly. It is not the most modern condo and there were areas that could have been a tad bit cleaner, but the sheets were clean, the towels were clean, and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. Watch your group ski by on Last Chance trail from the balcony. We'd stay there again!"

It was extremely close to the New River Gorge which was where we planned two of our days to be. A few nearby towns big enough to grocery shop, eat out, and just walk around and experience the area. I built and operated an Ultra exclusive boutique beach resort In Southeast Asia. As well as a beach lounge and restaurant that was considered "the living room" of Khao-Lak Beach, Thailand. I have lived and traveled abroad extensively, which I do believe lends to One's ability to recognize, appreciate, and implement, this level of service.

From the exterior. I chose to design the building in a very trendy "urban industrial" monochromatic color scheme which uses a lot of one color in different hues. For this project I chose, carbonized grey. Hence the name, The Carbon Flat. I accentuated this dark and sort of 'blah' color with western red cedar, that I stained Mahogany Flame. It is quite dramatic, yet calming. I highlighted certain areas in stone, and others with foliage from local plants. We installed a wheelchair accessible, concrete ramp, at a 3 degree gradient, to not only allow for a wheelchair, but also make it easier for luggage and minimize someone tripping.

On to the inside....

Posh, yet practical. Again, I put thought into every decision, researching what had the best reviews for comfort and functionality, while also balancing that function with form and design. I wanted to bring a little of the out side in, so I used a much more subtle grey, almost blue Pallet. Then painted the oak cabinets with the carbonized grey from outside. I then used cedar with the same stain for crown molding. For a focal point, I had a custom mural done on the largest wall. Its very thought provoking and perfect for the space which by the numbers seems small but with 12 foot high ceilings, makes it feel so much bigger. I built and installed custom Acacia wood butcher block counter tops, with a Kraus workstation sink That I believe was intended to give a farmhouse look, but it only lends to this funky design. It has a built in chopping block and dish drainer.

The kitchen was stocked with everything that a chef would appreciate. From beautiful Damascus steel knives, to an Air fryer range that's front controlled and ADA compliant. Coffee and tea lovers? There is a Nespresso Machine that makes the absolute best coffee, stocked with Nespresso's best coffee offerings as well as from Starbucks and other favorites. . There is a French Press, Bodum Pour over, Krups Noiseless grinder, and several different options for coffee in fresh bean form in case you wanted to make your travelling companion their first pour over. Double walled glass cappuccino and espresso mugs, and milk frother. Individually wrapped tea bags from Twinning's, Taylors of Harrogate, Harford and Sons, and individually wrapped loose leaf tea from all over the world. There is an authentic cast iron Tetsubin Japanese Tea set that by the artist was named after Rikyu (Rentarô Mikuni), a Buddhist priest who believes in the spiritual healing inherent in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. There’s a Fellow Stagg EKG Digital kettle that’s ranked #1 by baristas and has a beautiful design. The best pour, for your pour-over. And only the best for you. Told you, I don't mess around.

Appreciate nice bath towels, or quality sleep? I chose to use UGG Pacha line Turkish Cotton (and oversized) for all of the bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths. I Used UGG for most of the comforters and throws, and there will be several options for the guests when it comes to pillows and sheets, in case you don’t like the crazy high thread count Egyptian cotton ones that will be on the 14 inch hybrid, and fully adjustable bed. Makes it nice if you want to set the head up so you can watch the 75 inch tv, with amazon prime, local cable, and top it off , a service that gives you every single cable channel from around the world, in different languages, including every single pay per view event. I enjoy high quality Audio but had never bought anything from Klipsch. I wont ever buy anything else again. You have a Klipsch Three 11. Bose, Sonos, eat your heart out. To sweeten the audio experience, is a fully automatic Audio Technica record player and a nice selection from every genre. Just let me know what tickles your fancy and it will be playing for you when you walk through the door. For you business travelers, there is a wireless printer for your use.

The lounging furniture are top grain leather , fully reclinable, with adjustable head and footrest, and lumbar also with built in wireless charging for your phones. I have provided a few reading options including newer books, and a few dating all the way back to the 1850’s. Its really neat to look through them and compare societal differences of then and now and the amazing art done on old school press plates. There are few tastefully chosen board games. A bookcase edition scrabble, and a Luxury Edition Monopoly. built a a little area with accompaniments for adult beverages, and a nice Westin orange juicer, which will always be accompanied by fresh fruit, in case you would like to get up in the morning and juice some oranges for your “better half”.

For you adult beverage drinkers there is a nice selection of glass ware. Vintage Paulaner Hefeweizen Glasses, which there are several already in the freezer for you. Huge Bordeaux glasses, glasses for white, lowballs, highballs and if you do partake please let me know in comments when you book that you are "RED" or "WHITE" and there will be such a thing in the gift basket for you.

Custom built dining table made from Baltic Beechwood and then a triple coat of epoxy. I built this on an electric, noiseless air frame. You can raise and lower this table from 25 inches all the way up to 48 inches . Feel like standing, great, sitting, even better. Disabled, I built this for you. I think I blew ADA Compliant Standards out of the water on This one.

Last, but not least. The Bathroom. Continuing the décor, I installed beautiful stone tile flooring, did the walls in a mute industrial concrete waterproof wallpaper. There is a really cool internally lit vanity mirror with a defogger that does not allow it to get steamed up. My vision to work with local artists and craftsmen to showcase their work was fulfilled in the floating vanity and sink. 99timbers custom designed and built a live edge undermount and backsplash. It matches the beautiful foil-work sink . This sink is wheelchair accessible. There is a walk-in (or roll-in) modern steam shower. I chose grey stack stone and stunning turquoise subway tile, accentuated again by (a water suitable) choice of wood. Teak Floors and Teak Bench. This shower is 60 inches wide and 36 inches deep. It is wheelchair accessible. There is a 10 inch Kohler rain deluge, 8 body jets and an hand wand. Pressure? got pressure for days!! Hot water you ask, well , I'm sure someone is going to test out that auto defog mirror. Its definitely a steam shower. There are extremely nice robes behind the bathroom door in multiple sizes for men and women. There is 3 different levels of toiletries based on the length of your stay. I am still testing what you will receive if you are only staying one night with us. Don't worry you won't be disappointed. However if you choose to stay with us for 2 nights or more you will receive L'occitane Mer & Mistral, if you choose to stay 5 nights or more you will receive Hermès eau d' orange vert. Regardless of which level, you will receive shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion.

The unit is completly "smart" enabled. You can control everything with your voice. Lights, thermostat, doorlock, tv. Alarm System. You can ask to see the doorbell camera and your vehicle on the 8 in screen in the Kitchen. There is also another 5 inch screen. Both of these have manual camera shutters, and by protocol are never opened by me. If you choose to use them for video calling, you are doing so on your own accord. The only thing in the flat that is not smart, t are the 2 chandeliers. There is too much wattage going through them. By the way there is a simplisafe alarm system on your unit as well as a safe for your valuables.

I hope you are ok with smart technology. As there is a virtual concierge that will greet you by name as you come in the front door and ask if you are formally checking in. Brian will give you a menu of options, or you can ask exactly what you want. I have spent a great deal of time, programming information Such as info about the property , info on anything inside the flat and how to use it, restaurants, things to do, places to see, family friendly activities, hiking, shopping, etc...I have worked with many local restaurants and stores securing exclusive discount coupons for you, but you have to use the virtual concierge. I have attached many pictures and videos, of things in the flat that explain things better. So if you don't know how to make a pour over, it will teach you.

My father, myself, and generations in my family served in The United States Military. I am proud, and grateful in offering a 15% military discount for Active Duty or former service members. This efficiency apartment is the loft space above our detached two car garage. You enter into the apartment via your own entrance.

At the top of the stairs you will find this newly remodeled apartment that is fully furnished to host all your adventures in the new record. Centrally located through miles from downtown, you can be at any of the major resorts within 15 minutes.

The fully furnished kitchen allows you to cook in if you choose. With a four burner stove, small refrigerator and microwave you have all the comforts of home, in a compact space.

The brand new queen bed complete with crisp white cotton sheets and a feather comforter that will wrap you up after a long day. Kick your feet up after a long day on the loveseat or rest in bed and swivel the TV out to catch up on your favorite show.

The small bath has a cherry red cast iron tub to soak your weary bones after a day of adventure. Please note that there is no shower, but only a bath. All natural 3-1 bath and body soap is provided .

The kitchen table fits two perfectly and allows for a desk space if you need it as well. Internet allows you to work from home if you need it, or stream your favorite shows and movies.

There is a grill out back as well as a table and chairs if you want to cook out or eat outside or just catch some sun. Feel free to share this communal space. Please leave everything clean and as you found it!

We have a 2 night minimum in season but if you’d like if for just one night please reach out and we will see if we can accommodate you.

As you pull into the driveway park on the right side in front of the right garage door. Backing out into the road can be tricky so don't worry if you need to use the grassy areas to turn around. We drive on them all the time! As you walk towards the house you will see a breezeway that takes you back to the apartment door on your right.

Other things to note
Please note that there is no shower. Due to the sloped roof, only a bathtub could fit but it’s a shiny red cast iron tub ready for bath-time. Please be careful to keep water in the tub :)

We use all natural cleaning products, soaps and non-scented laundry detergents.

There is absolutely no smoking allowed on the premises. A $500 cleaning fee will be charged if we can smell any smoke in the apartment. This is our personal space so please be respectful.

The space
This historic house was built in 1917 and has been updated over the years. You'll still see a lot of the original parts of the home including the hard woods floors.

This home is conveniently located just minutes from the New River, the Brooklyn Mine Trail, and the Kaymoor Trail. At the Brooklyn Mine you'll be able to see a lot of old fossils. There are many other trails to explore nearby as well.


For visiting Rafters, we are just a few minutes from the Cunard put-in for the lower / take-out for the upper.

For those who are visiting climbers, we are about 7 minutes from Kaymoor, 20 minutes from Upper Meadow and 30 minutes from Summersville Lake. We have a set of climbing guide books there as well. You're welcome to use them (please take care of them as they are our personal guide books).

Additional house notes:

*There's a coffee station in the dining room stocked with coffee, flavors, and two brewing options (drip and pour over). There's also a 3.25 gallon Berkey to filter your water.
*Accessing the house requires going up rock steps and a stairway on the left side of the house.
*There are tenants in the lower unit.
*This house is heated using a propane fireplace and additional space heaters available for each room.
*This house is cooled with window units. There's one in each bedroom and one in the living room (4 units in total).
*Firewood is not provided.

When you turn onto Nutter Rd. You will make a sharp left into the lower parking area. There is space for 2 cars. The upper driveway belongs to the lower unit. Please do not disturb the tenants in the lower unit.

The access to the house is on the left side of the house. Go up the rock steps and then up the stairway on the left.

and ends at 11:00 a.m. on (the “Check-out Date”). Early check ins may be available. Contact owner if needed. Failure to adhere to the check-out time may result in an additional late fee set at $50/hour unless discussed in advance of the stay.

4. Minimum Stay: This property requires a 2 night minimum stay. Holiday weekends require a 3 night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during other periods.

5. Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules at all times while at the
property, and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while residing at the property. Be respectful of the property and of neighboring guests. Repeated and/or severe complaints from neighboring guests may result in removal from property without refund.

6. Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair, inspection or emergency. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner by giving at least 2 hours notice (unless in case of emergency).

7. Responsible Party: The person reserving and paying for the condo will be the responsible party and must be 25 years of age or older.

8. Housekeeping: Your paid reservation includes a charge for cleaning the condo. If, due to unforeseen circumstances (for example, severe weather, housekeeping shortage, etc.), we are unable to clean your condo prior to your stay, you will be refunded the cleaning fee. No other refunds will be given. Before checking-out, please bag and dispose of all trash in the dumpsters located outside, wash and put away the pots and pans, and start the dishwasher. We do not provide daily housekeeping service.

9.Pets: Please contact owner about any possible pets for approval. Pet deposit required.

10.Smoking: No smoking is permitted inside the dwelling. Failure to abide by this regulation will result in an automatic forfeiture of damage deposit. Smoking is only allowed in parking lots and dispose of smoking materials properly.

11. Property Missing/Damage: Please report any broken, damaged, missing or inoperable items as soon as you notice it. Even if the issue does not affect your stay, we appreciate you letting us know before you check-out so that we can make arrangements to resolve the issue prior to the next guest arrival. Please do not bring cookware or other items from one condo to another. If you have a larger group and book multiple condos, we suggest that you bring paper plates/cups to avoid moving dishes from one condo to another. Any property in the rental that is removed/broken/abused may be deducted from the security deposit

12. Water Leaks: If you encounter a major water leak, please shut-off the main water supply (found in the hall closet above the hot water heater) and call immediately. For small drips, please place a towel or bowl under the drip and notify us during normal hours. Please make sure you notify us if you suspect a leak (wet carpet, water under sink, etc) so that we can take care of it right away and minimize any damage to our condo or to a neighbor’s condo.

13. Your Belongings: Please gather all personal belongings before checking out. If we find you have left valuable items behind, we will contact you and arrange to return the items. The minimum charge to return forgotten items is $20.00 plus shipping fees.

14. Cancellation: If you cancel your reservation at least 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, you will receive a full refund except for a $100.00 cancellation fee (per condo) and any paid credit card fees. If you cancel your reservation less than 60 days from your arrival date, then no refunds or credit toward a different stay will be issued (except for cleaning fee, which will be refunded).

Refunds: There are no refunds (or credit toward a different stay) for Winterplace closures, poor snow conditions, severe weather, late arrivals, early departures, travel conditions, road closures, allergies, health or medical issues, utility or water outages, mandatory evacuation, construction at neighboring properties, war, terrorism or acts of God. We will make every
reasonable effort to ensure that the appliances, fireplaces, and like amenities are and remain in good working order. However, there is no refund if these are inoperable.

16. Trip Insurance: We understand that circumstances may arise that affect your reservation. We recommend that you purchase Trip Insurance. We do not offer trip insurance, but there are many options available if you search the internet. You should consider Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) coverage since a typical policy without that extra coverage will not cover you in the event you want to cancel to due lack of snow, poor conditions, etc.

17. Cancellation by Owner: In the event the particular condo you have reserved is not available due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to relocate you into another one of our condos but assume no further liability. If there are no other condos available, then a complete refund will be given and we assume no further liability.

18. Condo Changes: The Owner reserves the right to change your reservation to another same-floor condo at the Owner’s discretion. Although rare, the Owner may need to assign you a different same-floor condo than the one you originally reserved due to scheduling constraints.

19. Falsified Reservations: Any reservation made under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of booking deposit and rental payments, and check-in will not be allowed.

20. Binding Agreement, Agency, Warrants and Venue: Your rental agreement is a binding contract between you and the property Owner. The rental contract shall be interpreted and governed by West Virginia law. Any legal action pertaining to your rental must be brought exclusively in the appropriate court within Raleigh County, State of West Virginia.

Defend, Indemnify and Hold Harmless: As a condition of this rental agreement, to the fullest extent permitted by law, you as Guest, on behalf of yourself, members of your party and all their successors, assigns and heirs, agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Owner and any of their employees, or representatives thereof, of and from any and all costs, suits, liabilities, damages and/or claims for damages arising from the acts or omissions of any person or which is in any other manner whatsoever related to the rental property and the related property, including but not limited to those arising from any kind of injury to or the death of any person or persons in, on or about the rental property and related property, or from any loss of or damage to the rental property or the personal property of any person or persons in, on or
about the rental property and related property, except that this indemnification does not extend to claims for personal injury actually caused solely by the grossly negligent acts or willful misconduct of the Owner or its employees.

The condo is located on the second floor and you are very short walk to the slopes with a great balcony view. Both bedrooms have private access to the bathrooms. The living room has a futon, large sectional, 52 inch Smart TV, and a heat-emitting electric fireplace.

Cancellation by Owner: In the event the particular condo you have reserved is not available due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to relocate you into another one of our condos but assume no further liability. If there are no other condos available, then a complete refund will be given and we assume no further liability.

17. Condo Changes: The Owner reserves the right to change your reservation to another same-floor condo at the Owner’s discretion. Although rare, the Owner may need to assign you a different same-floor condo than the one you originally reserved due to scheduling constraints.

The space
Welcome to the Carbon Flat. This is a multi-faceted passion project that not only offers housing for the parents of the University students, but is also in an effort to invest in the local community and help grow much needed infrastructure. This building was acquired, redesigned, gutted, stripped, and purposely rebuilt FOR you. I applied myself, thoroughly researched the concept of airbnb, developed a plan, and am now implementing that plan for "TOP OF THE LINE EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE", In which I have provided for more than a decade. I built and operated an Ultra exclusive boutique beach resort In Southeast Asia. As well as a beach lounge and restaurant that was considered "the living room" of Khao-Lak Beach, Thailand. I have lived and traveled abroad extensively, which I do believe lends to One's ability to recognize, appreciate, and implement, this level of service.

From the exterior. I chose to design the building in a very trendy "urban industrial" monochromatic color scheme which uses a lot of one color in different hues. For this project I chose, carbonized grey. Hence the name, The Carbon Flat. I accentuated this dark and sort of 'blah' color with western red cedar, that I stained Mahogany Flame. It is quite dramatic, yet calming. I highlighted certain areas in stone, and others with foliage from local plants. We installed a wheelchair accessible, concrete ramp, at a 3 degree gradient, to not only allow for a wheelchair, but also make it easier for luggage and minimize someone tripping.

On to the inside....

Posh, yet practical. Again, I put thought into every decision, researching what had the best reviews for comfort and functionality, while also balancing function with form and design. I wanted to bring a little of the out side in, so I used a much more subtle grey, almost blue Pallet. I Then painted the oak cabinets with the carbonized grey from outside. Additionally I used western red cedar with the same Is mahogany flame stain for crown molding. For a focal point, I had a custom mural done on the largest wall. Its very thought provoking and perfect for the space which by the numbers seems small but with 12 foot high ceilings, makes it feel so much bigger. I built and installed custom Acacia wood butcher block counter tops, with a Kraus workstation sink That I believe was intended to give a farmhouse look, but it only lends to this funky design. It has a built in chopping block and dish drainer.

The kitchen was stocked with everything that a chef would appreciate. From beautiful Damascus steel knives, to an Air fryer range that's front controlled and ADA compliant. Coffee and tea lovers? There is a Nespresso Machine that makes the absolute best coffee, stocked with Nespresso's best coffee offerings as well as from Starbucks and other favorites. . There is a French Press, Bodum Pour over, Krups Noiseless grinder, and several different options for coffee in fresh bean form in case you wanted to make your travelling companion their first pour over. Double walled glass cappuccino and espresso mugs, and milk frother. Individually wrapped tea bags from Twinning's, Taylors of Harrogate, Harford and Sons, and individually wrapped loose leaf tea from all over the world. There is an authentic cast iron Tetsubin Japanese Tea set that, by the artist, was named after Rikyu (Rentarô Mikuni), a Buddhist priest who believes in the spiritual healing inherent in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. There’s a Fellow Stagg EKG Digital kettle that’s ranked #1 by baristas and has a beautiful design. The best pour, for your pour-over. And only the best for you.

Appreciate nice bath towels, or quality sleep? I chose to use UGG Pacha line Turkish Cotton (and oversized) for all of the bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths. I Used UGG for most of the comforters and throws, and there will be several options for the guests when it comes to pillows and sheets, in case you don’t like the crazy high thread count Egyptian cotton ones that will be on the 14 inch hybrid, and fully adjustable bed. Makes it nice if you want to set the head up so you can watch the 75 inch tv, with amazon prime, local cable, and top it off , a service that gives you every single cable channel from around the world, in different languages, including every single pay per view event. It also has every single movie that comes out in theaters sometimes while they are still in the theaters. This is a legal service so there are no movies recorded with cellphones. I enjoy high quality Audio but had never bought anything from Klipsch. I wont ever buy anything else again. You have a Klipsch Three 11 in the flat. Bose, Sonos, eat your heart out. To sweeten the audio experience, is a fully automatic Audio Technica record player and a nice selection of records from every genre. Just let me know what tickles your fancy and it will be playing for you when you walk through the door. For you business travelers, there is a wireless printer for your use.

The lounging furniture are top grain leather , fully reclinable, with adjustable head and footrest, and lumbar also with built in wireless charging for your phones. I have provided a few reading options including newer books, and a few dating all the way back to the 1850’s. Its really neat to look through them and compare societal differences of then and now and the amazing art done on old school press plates. There are few tastefully chosen board games. A bookcase edition scrabble, and a Luxury Edition Monopoly. I built a little area with accompaniments for adult beverages, and a nice Westin orange juicer, which will always be accompanied by fresh fruit, in case you would like to get up in the morning and juice some oranges for your “better half”.

For you adult beverage drinkers there is a nice selection of glass ware. Vintage Paulaner Hefeweizen Glasses, which there are several already in the freezer for you. Huge Bordeaux glasses, glasses for white, lowballs, highballs and if you do partake please let me know in comments when you book that you are "RED" or "WHITE" and there will be such a thing in the gift basket for you.

Custom built dining table made from Baltic Beechwood and then a triple coat of epoxy. I built this on an electric, noiseless air frame. You can raise and lower this table from 25 inches all the way up to 48 inches . Feel like standing, great, sitting, even better. Disabled, I built this for you. I think I blew ADA Compliant Standards out of the water on This one.

Last, but not least. The Bathroom. Continuing the décor, I installed beautiful stone tile flooring, did the walls in a mute industrial concrete waterproof wallpaper. There is a really cool internally lit vanity mirror with a defogger that does not allow it to get steamed up. My vision to work with local artists and craftsmen to showcase their work was fulfilled in the floating vanity and sink. 99timbers custom designed and built a live edge undermount and backsplash. It matches the beautiful foil-work sink . This sink is wheelchair accessible. There is a walk-in (or roll-in) modern steam shower. I chose grey stack stone and stunning turquoise subway tile, accentuated again by (a water suitable) choice of wood. Teak Floors and Teak Bench. This shower is 60 inches wide and 36 inches deep. It is wheelchair accessible. There is a 10 inch Kohler rain deluge, 8 body jets and an hand wand. Pressure? got pressure for days!! Hot water you ask, well , I'm sure someone is going to test out that auto defog mirror. Its definitely a steam shower. There are Turkish Cotton robes behind the bathroom door in multiple sizes for men and women. There is 3 different levels of toiletries based on the length of your stay. Our standard is L'occitane Mer & Mistral, If you're staying 3 nights or more you will receive Aprey Purple Water (Exclusively used by the Ritz Carlton) if you choose to stay 5 nights or more you will receive Hermès eau d' orange vert. Regardless of which level, you will receive shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion. There will also be an individually wrapped bar soap from Marseilles.

The unit is completly "smart" enabled. You can control everything with your voice. Lights, thermostat, doorlock, T.V., Alarm System, Vacuum cleanet. You can ask to see the doorbell camera and your vehicle on the 8 in screen in the Kitchen. There is also another 5 inch screen. Both of these have manual camera shutters, and by protocol are never opened by me. If you choose to use them for video calling, you are doing so on your own accord. The only thing in the flat that is not smart controlled are the 2 chandeliers. There is too much wattage going through them. There is Also a hidden safe for your valuables.

I hope you are ok with smart technology. There is a virtual concierge that will greet you by name as you come in the front door and ask if you are formally checking in. You will be given a menu of options, or you can ask exactly what you want. I have spent a great deal of time, programming information Such as info about the property , info on anything inside the flat and how to use it, restaurants, things to do, places to see, family friendly activities, hiking, shopping, etc...I have worked with many local restaurants and stores securing exclusive discount coupons for you, but you have to use the virtual concierge. I have attached many pictures and videos, of things in the flat that explain things better. So if you don't know how to make a pour over, it will teach you.

I'm not going to list every little detail. I can only GUARANTEE you will not find anything like it locally, or for this price. IF you do ill honor my guarantee and give you a weekend for free.

I am also trying to set the bar for a different kind of service and go above and beyond. If you choose to book and will be staying at the flat long enough to need groceries, You can place a click list order and I will happily pick them up and have them stocked at the flat for you. Outside of the flat there are 2 parking spaces solely dedicated for your use. You then have the sidewalk that winds all the way through the University. It is maintained by the University. For Security, there is the WVU Tech Campus Police and the Beckley Police Department. I have worked closely with both, not only offering to provide a live link to my camera systems, but also taking several other measures to ensure the safety and security of the students, community members, and you!

#The Carbon Flat goes above and beyond some standards that even 5 star resorts don't implement.
Firstly we care very much about the air that you breath. We implement a system that you can access, by Bluetooth, our air filtration system, and view the statistics and real time data such as when the filter was changed, and the air quality you are breathing.

#We also take cleaning extremely serious, and have written protocols (S.O.P's) as to using a ozone generator each time a guest departs. We do this before we even go in to clean. This prevents us from coming into contact with anything while changing the bed, vacuuming, etc. The ozone machine completely, (even cracks and crevices) kills all bacteria, viruses, mold, and any un thinkables.

The kitchen is totally equipped with all the essentials, including crock pot, coffee maker, pots and pans, a built-in microwave, dishwasher and everything that you need for your vacation.
The living room consist of a wood burning fireplace and a view out the sliding glass doors onto the slopes. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a bath and views onto the mountains.
Everything you need to create great family memories!
The condo has electric baseboard heaters in each room, so you can adjust the heat to the temperature that you prefer when it's cold outside. When it's hot, there is an AC unit installed in the living room above the sliding glass door. This is for AC only. We are not allowed to do duct work in the 2nd or 3rd floor condos, so this is the only practical way to get AC in the unit, leaving room doors open as often as possible helps to keep the whole condo cool.
Please be aware there will be a $200 security deposit that will be pre-authorized on your credit card the day before you arrive and is released 7 days after you depart unless there is damage. This is a standard practice for vacation home rentals as there is no staff at the facility and this allows you to check in with an electronic door code and check out by just texting us and leaving the morning of your last day.
Also, the road to the condos is a gravel, hilly, road that Winterplace Ski Resort is paid to take care of it. Sometimes through the year, we will have heavy rains that create ruts in the road and Winterplace Ski Resort, being closed, is slow in making the repairs. Low clearance vehicles will need to be very careful coming up the hill from Winterplace Ski Resort's main parking area. In the winter, they grade the road and keep it plowed and put cinders on the road but please be prepared and understand you may need a four wheel drive, all wheel drive or chains to help get up the hill.
We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Problems can arise in multiple ways and travel insurance can be a low cost guard against losing your money if you have last minute problems and have to cancel. In the past, some of our guests have obtained insurance by going to www.InsureMyTrip.com for details and to purchase. We did call the people at InsuraneMyTrip and they do have plans that will cover for Covid issues but there are several important steps and needs to be done shortly after making your first deposit. The plans are called "Cancel For Any Reason" CFAR. Check with your insurance agent before deciding what insurance to purchase. We DO NOT endorse any insurance in particular.

Whitewater rafting, kayaking, river tubing, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding etc. All different kinds of outdoor fun are waiting for you to take advantage of. There are several state and national parks near by, like Little Beaver State Parkand Grandview National Park. We are also near Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The temperature in the mountains of West Virginia remains cooler than a lot of the surrounding states, so this is great place to come cool off. Enjoy something different from the beach, take your family out into nature.
And for anytime of the year fun, Beckley has something for everyone. Of course, there are all your favorite fast food and sit down restaurants, as well as some home-grown restaurants that might become your new favorites. There is a wide variety of different shops. The Tamarackhas everything you might want to see from our unique West Virginia craftsman. There are a lot of different antique shops and Crossroads Mall for those that might want something a little familiar. There is the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine, where you can tour an actual coal mine and let the kids explore the coal mining town and the Youth Museum. During good weather, there are also trails, playground, basketball and tennis courts and a pool with a waterslide. There is also, Mountain State Miniature Golfwhich doesn’t have just mini-golf but offers a small coffee shop and an indoor climbing wall. Beckley is a great place to spend a few days exploring all it has to offer and it’s only a quick drive up Interstate 77.

The space
The condo sleeps up to 11, great for a large family or a couple of small families with separate bathrooms or for those that just want some space and privacy that you can't get in a hotel. Extra-large deck to enjoy the views from.

The kitchen is totally equipped with all the essentials, including crock pot, coffee maker, pots and pans, a built-in microwave, dishwasher and everything that you need for your vacation.

The living room consist of a wood burning fireplace and a view out the sliding glass doors onto the slopes. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a bath and views onto the mountains.

Pretty much completely open to you except on closet we use to store extra linens and supplies.

Other things to note
Your plans can change. Weather, family, work, we never know what tomorrow may hold. Changes happen, so because of this reason, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to safeguard, the investment you make in your vacation plans.

Also, this is a third-floor condo, with great views but a few flights of stairs. But you’re at the top so no one above you to make noise while they are walking around. :)
