- "We needed to book a beach getaway with one weeks notice....we got very lucky finding this perfect 2 BR apt 100 yards from the Beach on VRBO. Our host Tom was outstanding! He fixed up this little apt complex 1/2 block from the beach, but it also has a very cute backyard with family games, a firepit for the evening, on a pond with free use of kayaks, paddleboards, beach gear. He even provided a very nice folding cot as needed for one of my sons just for better sleeping space. When you just want to be able to park your car, and be able to walk everywhere from there on to hit the beach, restaurants, shops, etc this place was terrific. My two sons 20 & 14 had a blast using the paddleboards and hitting the beach. Tom the host owns a business next door and lives across the street so he is pretty much always available to help with any problem or inform you about the area attractions. The apt is an older complex but the place was very clean and had all the needed necessities. The view from the large deck overlooking the pond was gorgeous and a great place to eat breakfast and have your coffee. It is an older beach apt without a/c but we did not need it as we had cool seabreezes. There is some street noise but to be expected due to the great location, it did not bother us at all. We had more fun at this place then hotels costing 3 times as much. If not for the excellent host, I was almost hesitant to write this review for fear of more people discovering this place."

- "Let’s just stay I have stayed in many VRBO properties before. This one is the WORST AND really will impact my future vacation searches. I usually always read up on reviews of properties before booking. Although on this rental there were no review. SO I feel it is my obligation to warn future renters. We booked for 2 nights .. after surviving the first night we left property first thing in the morning . There were many reasons why. Property is not as it appears in description. They leave out the fact you are renting the 1st floor of the old I am not sure what type of building this is. You enter through an old run down cement part of the building. I am assuming It was a garage. The place was filthy and full of junk . Everything in the rental was old and dirty. The 3 bedrooms were filled with old items just stored in every crevice of the house. The screen door had many holes there were many spiders and daddy long legs hanging from ceilings. One of the bedroom had no working lights or electrical outlet. The beds were horrific. I am suffering still from back aches. My nice ended up spending the first day of her trip in ER due to the conditions of this rental. It triggered her asthma and totally ruined are main reason to Westerly get away. There was so much mold and dust/ dirtiness I. This property. We refer to it the Westerly Nightmare!!!!"

- "To start we were given the wrong keys so we had to wait to check in for the owner to show up. We get in the apartment, and everything is old. Worn. Mismatched. There was a smell of mold especially in the bathroom. Keys don’t work right in the door; you have to jiggle and play and even then my daughter couldn’t get it to work. Drains in the sinks drain so slow. The listing says laundry and soap provided but the soap was old and clumped together and the dryer didn’t work. The AC in the second bedroom leaks like a hose. Beds are old and uncomfortable. The 3rd bedroom has glass doors that don’t close properly. The communication isn’t even through the owner, it’s through the cleaning company. So any issues your to contact them and they contact the owner which led to me just being left on read majority of the time. Just a big mess for the amount of money you pay. "
